Aaron Salemhouse's School For The Supernaturally Gifted

A calm spring morning was brought to life as the fall of night was broken apart by the rising sun, its aura filtering into the surface of the sky outshining the stars and hiding them away from human eyes as the large orb cast its rays upon the earth the school stood again where it once had. Made of stone and ceramic brick, taller than it had been, more overcompensating than before for little old Mr. Salemhouse, not many knew where the affluent man had disappeared to thus questioning where the funds for the rebuilt school even came from. Despite this, the school stood once again where it had after much work from hundreds of skilled craftsmen, mostly of this world...Some not so much...That were usually seen warping into the darkness of night and fading away just before the sun could fight away the darkness once more. A parade of cement trucks, bulldozers, and cargo trucks filtered their way out of the woods as the sun beamed off their less than dull metal surfaces. A young man with much too long black hair now watched inquisitively from the perch of a tree, leaned casually between two branches as his dark brown eyes followed the trucks out, he imagined that these men were glad to be off the creepy territory. This place always had an aura about it had for a year now, while most kids went back home to wait out the school being rebuilt or went to other boarding schools Santino had stayed with the old man to finish his training and to make sure Samael wasn't alone when he died...At least Santino assumed the old dog would have been dead by now but each day the gnarled groundskeeper rose to greet him as he did every morning and they returned to training or hunting.

Shifting, as he felt the warm bark of the tree against his back he slipped from the branch casually and hopped down, with the soft grass crunching lightly beneath his calloused feet, he had decided to inform what others may have lingered in the woods. It looked like they were going back to school. "You seem eager, Santino." The old gray haired man remarked as he appeared seemingly out of nowhere, his old rifle slung over his shoulder as he patted the young man on the back.

"I suppose I am." He nodded with a smile. "It looks like the school's finally finished rebuilding and everyone will have a home again." Santino remarked with a broad smile before he continued on away from his mentor and towards the deeper end of the woods.
Where your eyes don't go a filthy scarecrow waves its broomstick arms parodying every unconscious thing you do
When you turn around to look it's gone behind you
On its face it's wearing your confused expression
    Where your eyes don't go

Where your eyes don't go a part of you is hovering
It's a nightmare that you'll never be discovering
You're free to come and go or talk like Kurtis Blow
But there's a pair of eyes in the back of your head

A young fair skinned woman walked through the forest up from the nearby town with a couple bags of new causal clothes since she could never recover any of her old clothes from the destroyed school. Layla's hair was down and it had grown out more and her black rimmed glasses were halfway covered with her ivory bangs. She decided to stop for a little bit and enjoy the forest and sat on a branch of a tree, kicking her legs back and forth.

Santino stopped for a moment looking up above and seeing the familiar white haired wolf girl casually swinging her legs up in the trees above. "Layla?" He asked with a slight smile as his scent became all too familiar to him once again, his dark brown eyes up on her snow white hair. He had been far too committed to his training that he worried their relationship might have strained.

Layla's ears twitched as she heard Santino's voice and she smiled. Layla dropped the bags to the ground, pocketed her glasses and hung upside down on the branch by her legs as she smiled at the tall and handsome guy. "Ello love, how's training going?" She asked curiously, her Irish accent coming out fully.

Santino smiled hearing the lovely Irish accent that played at her words and tongue, he was possibly more foolish than he would have thought, Layla appeared to be quite happy to see him and was fully aware of how busy he had been with his focus on training to completely master his werewolf form. "I can transform on command now, though...I haven't been too angry in a while so I'm not sure if it's completely contained." He replied as he looked up at her upside down ruby red eyes. He did his best not to focus on how gravity was effecting her physical attributes. "Where've you been?" He asked her curiously noticing the shopping bags she had with her.

She smiled and flipped out of the tree and in front of Santino. "Well, we'll know when it happens dear but I'm sure you've learned to control it." Layla looked up at him and lightly pressed her lips against his "Been shopping for new casual clothes since my stuff went bye-bye with the school. How's Samuel doing? It's been a while since I've seen him."

"Not well...Well it seems that way, he has to be three centuries old by now. He keeps moving fine but I notice he's coughing a lot and usually leaning against his rifle or shovel like he can't full support his weight anymore. I keep expecting to find him dead in his cot, but he's still kicking." Santino replied with a slight chuckle he smiled as she pressed her soft warm lips to his gently and kissed her back lightly as he looked down into her big crimson eyes. "So it looks like the school's finally finished."

Layla sighs softly thinking about the old man that's helped out their misfit group after being injured in so many fights and helping Santino control his wolf side. "I think he's strong willed enough to pull through." She finally said while she couldn't help but to think that it partly or all her fault. "Yeah I'm glad, it felt weird without it there."

"Well I've seen him survive a lot worse so I think you're right." He smiled as he turned his gaze towards the direction of the school, staring at the small opening through the branches where the front of the school could be seen. "You plan on going back in?" He asked her curiously as he looked back down at her.
