The Baxter Building, 6:50 P.M.
Peter Parker sighed as the shutter on his rather antique looking camera flashed once more as Johnny Storm soaked in the limelight. It hadn't taken The Human Torch long to milk all the publicity he could get after the "Fantastic Four" had stopped Norman's prototype Green Goblin in the city's hub of Times Square. The Spider-Man found himself in the exact opposite position one would think he would be on. Rather than on the pedestal with the Human Torch, She-Hulk, and Ms. Fantastic, he found himself taking pictures and jotting notes as one of the reporters of the Daily Bugle, the irony of fate, some might say. "Guy's a public menace if I ever dun' seen one, wouldn't you say boss?" The young man turned his gaze to John Jonah Jameson, who had accompanied him to the Baxter Building for the first public appearance of the so-called quartet, which was missing two of it's members. "PFFT, KID'S A MENACE THAT IS FOR SURE." J.J.J. did in fact agree with Peter in what might be a rare moment. "STILL DOESN'T BEAT THOSE OTHER TWO. I MEAN THINK ABOUT IT PETER, THERE'S SHE-HULK... SHE-HULK... RELATED TO HULK. NEED I SAY MORE!? ALSO, WHERE IS THE REAL MENACE? THIS SPIDER-MAN GUY? DOESN'T EVEN SHOW HIS FACE, AND IS UP TO LORD KNOWS WHAT AT THE MOMENT." Peter grinned quite cheekely for a moment. "Oh I'm sure he's off saving kittens from trees or old-women from rogue busses, amongst other various public disservices." Another shutter flash. "So, how long is this conference? My Aunt wants me home by seven for dinner." "LOOK AT THAT ONE GIRL TOO, ALL STRETCHY AND WHAT NOT. I BET SHES A REAL HUSSY TOO." J.J.J. mumbled to himself as Peter request suddenly came to earshot. "WHA? FINE FINE I THINK WE GOT ENOUGH FROM THIS. GO AHEAD AND MAKE SURE THOSE PICTURES ARE ON MY DESK BEFORE TOMORROW MORNING OR I'LL EAT YOUR ASS FOR DINNER PETER!"
Peter had to gritt his teeth to retrain from destroying his camera with his superhuman grip, and he merely motioned his hand in a slight wave to his boss before turning around and slinging the camera around his neck. "And they ask me why I don't want to reveal my identity." Peter thought aloud after he was far out of earshot of the crowd of reporters. Unlocking the door on the rather beat up looking car he received from his Uncle Ben, Peter drove away from the media and down some of the winding streets of Manhattan, finding an abandoned warehouse some two miles or so away from the Baxter Building. Parking the car just outside the lot, Peter fished his backpack out of the back seat and whistled a tune as he walked into the structure.
Minutes later, the boy emerged wearing a twead jacket, a serialized made Spider-Man T-shirt (It seemed, despite his intentions, Spider-Man had received the most fanfare since his first appearance as a super-hero, though the logo he was given was basically his mask if it were circular.) a plain pear of jeans and loose fitting sneakers. Slipping on his web-shooters, Peter cracked a smile as he reached into his back pocket and retrieved his calling card. The ironically already famous Spider-Man mask. Submerging his head into the breathable leather transformed him, from the rather forgettable sarcastic photographer known as Peter Parker, into the larger than life character of Spider-Man. After looking out onto the world ahead of him, with a grin under his mask, the Spider-Man leapt onto his own car and into the air, swinging on his way back to the Baxter Building, backpack slung across both shoulders.
A minut amount of time later
"Look! It's Spider-Man!" the voice of one of the pose of reporters rang into Peter's ears the crowd turned it's attention on him. Before he could even get his next cord of webbing out of the shooter on his wrist, the blaring flashes of the legion of cameras now turned on him blinded him for a brief moment as he found himself falling from the sky. Throwing his left arm over his eyes, Peter's instincts kicked in as the crowd's collective gasp was silenced when he shot another string into the baxter building itself, and before he even knew it, Peter was dragging his feet into the cement lot surrounding his newfound home away from home. Reaching under his mask to rub his eyes, they were opened only to another swarm of flashes. "Well, that was a close one, if I do say so myself." The Spider-Man's mask shaped itself like a smile as Pete released the webbing from his grip and began making his way to the front entrance. "GOD DAMN PUBLIC MENACE!" The scream from behind Spider-Man was unmistakable as J.J.J. came up from behind, recorder in hand. "SPIDER-MAN. YOU'RE A MENACE TO SOCIETY WHO COULD POTIENTIALLY BRING FORTH THE END OF TIMES, THOUGHTS?!" Peter looked out into space nervously as the various microphones were collectively shoved into his face. "I highly doubt one man in a skin tight red and blue suit could bring forth the day of reckoning, Mr. Jameson." Peter sarcastically tipped his finger off his mask, hopping nonchalantly onto the small platform positioned in front of the building. Nonchalantly tapping the microphone on the small podium, Peter nervously looked all around. "I'm terribly sorry, but I'm afraid I'm not answering questions today, if you want to learn more about me, like me on facebook and follow me on twitter, and Johnny no doubt has already set up a website of some sort for us." Peter nodded gleefully as he turned around and hopped up the small staircase to the doors."Speaking of..." Johnny began his way back out of the building just as Peter found his way inside.
