Somewhere, far away from our own planet Earth, is a planet of similar size. It orbits a young yellow star, the gentle light reaching it in just under 8 minutes. Much like Earth, it rests on an orbit that allows it to sustain life. Much of the surface of the planet is covered in water, surrounding 6 continents of varying sizes, one of which is slightly larger than that of Asia. To those that lived on the planet, it was called Gelbaron.
The smallest continent, because of landmass, has been called Eoqusse. The ecosystem of the continent varies due to it resting on the equatorial line. Often called the Land of Tranquillity, its ecosystems contains a forest that contains only a particular set of life there: Feraena Forest. It is one of 4 forests in the world, having the same climate as a rainforest, it is a host of many fungal life, including the trees themselves being made of fungi. Apart from the difference in the terrain, the forest layout is the same as the rainforest; some of the trees in Feraena Forest can reach the same height as the tallest trees in the rainforest. Despite being called the Land of Tranquillity, the Plains of Irilkon shows a completely different contrast to this. With the weather being continuous thunderstorms (the only variation being the rain), the landscape is completely barren, metallic stalactites and tors filling it. In the centre of it all is the Lightning Capital, Levia, where the majority of the lighting from the lightning plains directs to it, even from leagues away. Towards the centre of the continent is the only inland see on the planet, Eoqusse Sea. The waters tend to be calm around the areas that are not near the lightning plains and is abundant with exotic fish that couldn't be found anywhere else. The entire east cost of the sea, and the entire island, is filled with sand dunes that come from the desert on the next continent, the white sands stretching for miles on end. In the centre of the inland sea is an island with an abandoned estate, which its boundaries is the entire island itself. Most people call it the Ruined Mansion and some believe that there is a 'mysterious curse' on it as those who venture to the island never return.
The next continent in size is the northern continent of Galacteo. Given name the Blue Star of the North, the terrain is inhospitable, with the cities of it tending to cling to the edges of the Icy Wastelands. The temperatures, while it is below freezing, is tolerable to everyone that lands on the continent from the ports, the heart of the wastelands can reach temperatures below -100 F, causing anyone caught unprepared to freeze to death in a matter of secconds. The only people who seem to resist the cold, and choose to live in the wastelands, are the People of the Ice, the Razvèrians. They often say that they are unreputably the 'True Humans' as their adaptation to the cold plus their ability to move onto other continents bar the Fire Continent, Taelvera, adaptable and more capable than those on the other continents. The capital, Gelidaro, is the only city that is set in the Icy Wastelands and its buildings are as blue as the name of the continent. This often gives it the name 'The Blue Star of Galacteo', though that helps with the aura that extends across the continent over the capital and over one of the major fishing cities, Chalder, and is bright enough to be seen across the see to one of the capitals of Celbaron. The scholars there are trying to learn how the majestic Drægars have been ejected from their home, the Genvero Straits, and possibly learn the creature that is behind their exile.
The Forge of Gelberon, Taelvera, moves up in size of the continents. It is by a large margin the highest continent on the planet with thanks to the largest volcano on it, Mortalio Mountain. It has gained the reputation of the number of deaths of the fire pilgrims that come to make the pilgrimage to the summit, with either the eruptions killing them or the combination of the scorching heat and the lack of oxygen. While the volcano is the highest point and is actively erupting, scholars of the island learnt that there is an even larger volcano that is based underneath it, the caldera expanding all the way across the continent. The boundary lines of this has received the name of Infernus Halo, a large ring where lava fields are very common and resemble a scorching version of marshlands. While there are paths to get onto the caldera through the Halo, the easiest passage to get onto it is set on the heat-resistant platform that serves as the foundation of the Scorched Anvil city, Flæris. While the city is protected by its own guards, everywhere else has been infested by the flaming bodies of the undead known only as the Fire Lords. Some believe that whatever lies in the heart of Mortalio Mountain is the thing that caused them to be in existance.
From the Blue Star of the North to the White Sea of the South, Aureanus is the third largest continent of the world. It resides on the southern point of Gelbaron. In complete contrast to its sister continent, Aureanus is considerably warmer (though it is still cold to allow the snow and ice remain on there) and there is much less in the terms of snowstorms. Apart from a few occasions, it is normally sunny, causing the white landscape to be blinding and difficult for people to travel. This can cause a problem with being unable to detect any danger in the distance, including the elusive White Halergeth, a large lizard that blend itself into the background with its white scales and being adapted to run even on ice. There are two shelves that nearly splits the continent into two, which are unique to Aureanus and a host to unique creatures there. The Icy Tower, Glaciera, is the capital and is home to the Arena of the Ice Tortoise. While the buildings are not as beautifully crafted as those in Gelidaro, there are still a spectacle to hold.
While smaller by a small margin, Celbaron, the Desolate Expanse, is by far the most expansive of all. While its given nickname is not meant to be derogatory, it has earnt it through the largest terrain that exists in the world: The Celbarean Desert. It is one of the hottest places on the planet, second only to Taelvera and tied with the Badlands of Malou. It is very notorious for its near constant sunny weather, with the sun's rays beating down on any traveller in its unforgiving light. It is because of this that those travelling through the desert often perish because of the constant need of drinking water. From the two mountain ranges on the continent, the Head of Celbaron and Amroth Mountains, the winds pick up and causes massive sandstorms that sweep through the desert and, on very rare occassions, across the sea onto Eoqusse, often enveloping the southern capital of the continent, Salizærba (known as the Ship of the Desert), and plunging it into darkness. To the north of the continent is the main, recognized city of Conuence. It is often recognized as the best of the educational world, named the City of Sages due to the number of scholars and sages that reside here. Across the Amroth Mountains, which is home to the Volcano of Caern, is the Badlands of Malou and the city of Malea, home of the vicious Maloux. The badlands, due to it reaching the extremes of temperatures during the day and night, is a completely cracked landscape. It is hindered from being the hottest place on the continent is the clouds that come off the mountains.
Gelbeterron, the Stone Heart of Gelbaron, is the largest of all the continents. It is filled with a range of forests and rolling plains. However, it is known best for its mountain ranges, especially the Gateway to Gelbeterron. The Gateway is the largest mountain range, both in terms of size and height. There are many roads that run through the mountain ranges, though there are only a handful of them that are completed from start to finish due to the road workers perishing over the sheer cliffs of them and the Krimntaar dominating the landscape. It splits two of the three forests, Jaeltreg Forest and Garresch Rainforest, both of them home to unique creatures and race of beings. Jaeltreg, an evergreen forest, is the home of the Silvæans, an elegant race that is known for its certain features, which resides in their capital Silvæa, the City of Eternal Beauty. Garresch, a tropical rainforest that is home to an abundance of wildlife including the gregarious Tarren, is home of the humanity that shares a different opinion to those of Conuence. In the rainforest is the second capital of the continent called Terrubane. Due to being at the forefront of fights between nightmarish creatures from the Gateway, the rainforest around it and the Werepyre Mountains, plus defying the Conuence Empire, Gelbeterron's residence often call it the Beacon of Hope. To the south of the Werepyre Mountains, home of the large feral breed of creatures, is Folia Forest, a deciduous forest.
Gelbeterron, Celbaron and, to some extent, Galacteo and Aureanus is split up by the massive Aranth Ocean. The waters are more tropical than some of the other oceans, which makes the coastlines around it some attractive places for families to go and spend the day. Towards the heart of Aranth, Axehead Islands and Solitude Island is placed. Solitude Island is a place of absolute tranquillity, no human ever marring the beauty that the island has, each tree placed in the ground to perfection. Axehead Islands, on the other hand, still has some beauty. The small group of islands are marred with the rumours of pirates inhabiting the islands being something that forces merchant ships to keep their eyes out onto the horizon. However, Axehead Islands and Solitude Island held beauty, both are haunted by the final group of islands, only known as the Unforgiven Islands. Once renowned for being the islands that was home to the famous blacksmith, Calelotte, and some of the finest craftsmanship that the world has seen. On the other hand, they were also the islands that led to his downfall. Once a lush green island, now only black ground and death reside on the island and a host of nightmarish creatures that no one has yet to classify.
The second largest ocean in the world is Daergren Ocean, the ocean that links Galacteo, the north of Gelbeterron and the north of Taelvera. Due to the nature that the ocean being so close to the cold continent, the waters that makes up the ocean is icy cold, able to freeze someone to death within minutes of exposure. Not even the massive amounts of layers to keep a person's body warm is unable to keep that person alive. There is also the danger that there is various icebergs floating in the ocean that makes it too dangerous for sea faring folk to travel in, lest they want to crash into them. Each iceberg is unique in size and shape, decreasing the chance to meet an iceberg of the same size and shape in the ocean to zero. This is also the ocean that a few of the largest Drægars live, being able to survive the monster that lives in the deep. Rumours have it that this beast lives in the waters that run between the two landmasses that make up Galacteo.
The relationship between Kælgreth and Daergren Ocean is the same as the relationship between Galacteo and Aureanus. The only difference between the second largest ocean and the ocean that links Aureanus and the south of Celbaron and Eoqusse is that the temperature is halfway between Aranth Ocean and Daergren Ocean. The waters are crystal blue, able to see to the underwater mountains that are underneath the surface of the water. Rumours have it that there is an ancient city that resides in these mountains, but many explorers have found nothing when they tried various methods of looking at the bottom of those ridges. These include Far-Sight, a spell that is able to see places in far away. There is no visible means of actually going to the bottom of Kælgreth because of the vicious creatures that lurks in the deep, including those that can drain those that use Far-Sight.
Finally, the smallest of all the oceans and seas that links the continents together is Beloth Sea, commonly known as 'Aranth's little sister'. Linking Galacteo, Taelvera and Celbaron, the sea is in the similar temperature range to Kaelgreth Ocean, though it is more towards the warm temperatures of Aranth, since it is close to two of the hottest continents in the world. Despite being near Daergren and Aranth Ocean, there is no Drægars in Beloth. Instead, there is the Derapherons, or the 'three headed shark' as it is rumoured to look like. The creature is rarely seen by sailors and it is even rarer that there are any survivors from the ships that come across one. Various descriptions are used because the experience of meeting one is horrific to those that look upon it.
Plot
In the beginning, there were the Ancients. They, both of them created from the same being that time has all but forgotten, were both held responsible for creating the planet Gelbaron. The Light Ancient, representing life and everything is good, set about creating all life that is on there through their own births. The Dark Ancient, representing Death and everything that is dire, carved the landscape and defined every living thing's life span. When both of them worked together, they created the laws of the world, the natural progression of evolution and then formed a mystical force that represented their essence: magic. Once the world was completed, they both had sworn an oath that their balance as opposite sides of a coin and not interfere with the balance that they had created, making sure that whatever one does, the other does something to restore balance. They have both agreed to this and allowed each other to work to their own roles for thousands of eons.
However, seeing as the world they had created just floating around in their existence and remaining ever so dull for such a long time, the Dark Ancient decided to seize the power of the world for himself and ridding the higher planes of his sister. Looking onto the world, he had planned for years in order for him to control the world and cast the Light Ancient into Limbo. During this time, he poured nearly all of his essence into 20 spheres of pure evil. He created a spell that, depending on the attempts that he needed to gain full control of the world, would allow him to use 4, 6 or 10 of these orbs in order of attempts to gain control of both the planet and the higher planes. Before the Light Ancient had a chance to realize her brother was attempting, he cast them down from his platform onto the different continents of the world.
Knowing that the oath that they agreed to was broken and something needed to be done to restore balance, the Light Ancient had, with the use of her Light Aura, created a spell and cast it onto 20 random people, hoping that this spell will then create the perfect method to balance the acts the Dark Ancient had created. These people, along with their descendants or objects that have their blood, would then have the purpose of destroying these orbs, with the destruction consuming the living essence of the person or object. Whether these people would realize their own destiny or not is something that only time could tell. As the spell was cast, the Dark Ancient looked on helplessly as his plans were being distorted by this revelation. While he had done everything that he could to prevent his plans from failing with causing disruption that would, hopefully, destroy these Disciples of Light, a lone man walks into the Head of Celbaron in order to search for materials to create more things for his forge. Along with some ore that contained the magical mineral Talunite, he came across 4 rocks of perfection. Picking them up and feeling the weight of them, the man, Callelotte, turns and walks away to travel back home to the islands - now called the Unforgiven Islands.
Years have passed since the Light and Dark Ancients plans were set into motion and many wars, ranging from the Schism of the Conuence Empire to the War of 3 Continents, have claimed the lives of many living beings, including the lives of the Disciples and their Descendants. Everything has been silent for many years, despite some skirmishes. However, something lurks in the unknown future and a storm is brewing over in the Amroth Mountains and the Werepyre Mountains. Another evil voice, known to those as Lord Sacremento, is scouring the lands in search of things that were long forgotten, causing destruction in its wake to a name that no one knows or understand.
He leads these minions of darkness, consisting of Werepyres and people of the desert to beseige the seats of the two empires of power, Conuence and Terrubane. The Conuence Empire, a long-established empire of power, fends its boarders with futility, with the loss of Berenol and the losing skirmishes of Qucndel on their front and gathering its strengths in the capital to fight them off. Towards the Terrubane Empire, the evil forces have overtaken Chaldon with ease and have spread rapidly upwards to the walls of the Beacon of Hope. The only thing that stands in the way of this evil force and the downfall of this empire are a handful of brave warriors. However, unbeknownst to them, their fates are intertwined to adventures across many continents, expanding many years and forging a legend for themselves.

Rules
I can and will change these rules at any time.
-No God-Modding. Controlling characters is not cool.
-No Insta-Death without consent from character's owner.
-No graphical description of sexual intercourse. Kissing, hugging and very restrained sex is allowed.
-One character max. NPCs are allowed. Refrain from making them too powerful and only post in the IC thread once they have been accepted.
-If you have a preference in making introductory paragraphs, then you can do a bare minimum if the character sheet (including omitting some of the categories) so there is a reference to put on this post.
-I'm all fine with cursing and whatnot. Just don't make it a first language for your character.
-The length of each post is 2 proper paragraphs (as per the Advanced forum rules).
-No mass-posting between 2 players. Allow people a chance to catch up before posting in it after 4 posts.
-Some of the races that can be played throughout the RP: Human (of all kinds, including Razvèrians), Krimntaar, Silvæan, Drægarian & Void Creatures. You are more than welcome to include elves, dwarves and, to a lesser extent, vampires & lycanthropes, but preference will be to the Gelbarean races.

Character Sheet skeleton & Accepted Characters
Code:
Character Name:Age:Race:Magic: (if any)
Appearance:Personality:Traits (Fill in the two sections below)
-Strengths
(add more if necessary)
-Weaknesses
(add more if necessary. Make sure this is longer than the Strengths section, so there is no overpowered characters.)
Equipment: (Place anything in your character's inventory here and a brief description of them if you want to describe them)
Bio: (Add any key points in your character's history that are somewhat important.P)
Other: (Although I think I've covered everything in the other sections above, feel free to use this section for anything I've missed
Character Name:Fractious Puenor
Age:21
Race:Desert Human
Magic:Dark Elemental, Illusion
Appearance:Cuts his dark brown hair extremely short. He is very tan. He is of slight build, without much muscle, a build he deprecatingly describes as, "borderline skeletal". He has bright green eyes. He's got a few scars on his back from whip blows. He has a short beard. He walks with a limp and often uses a cane to help him get around.
Personality:
Courageous and Strong-Willed:
Fractious's quiet manner and nervous disposition bely a heart full of courage. When danger strikes, Fractious will try his best to do what he thinks his right. If he were particularly strong or skilled, he'd already be a heroic adventurer. As it stands, he usually doesn't manage to do much good.
He also has a complicated history with the words, 'give' and 'up'.
Enthusiastic:
Fractious is often extremely excitable about new situations and things. A new type of creature seen, an unusual person met, a simple change of scenery and he is one happy camper.
Excessive Self-Deprecation:
Fractious has some serious self-esteem issues, sprouting from the fact that he hasn't lived a life with anything resembling success. He will refuse compliments, and berate himself for making minor mistakes.
Anger Issues:
Fractious has always had difficulty controlling his anger, and when pushed to far will become completely enraged. He's not as dangerous as a real trained warrior, but he's good at channeling his fury into his magic and attacks. This anger can be used for positive ends, but just as often it causes him more trouble than he would have been in if he'd been calm.
Clingy:
Fractious tends to be a bit clingy with people he percieves as friends.
Anxious:
Fractious gets nervous very easily. He's not exactly the 'cool, calm stoic' sort, as much as the 'jumbled bundle of nerves' sort.
Poetic:
Fractious tends to express himself best in song and poetry. His nervousness and anger and sadness seems to melt away when he's playing an instrument or reciting a poem. His face becomes calm, and he has a slight smile. It's almost like he enters a trance.
Naturalist:
Fractious LOVES nature. When he's in a natural setting, it's almost like a lesser version of when he plays music. He also loves animals.
Traits (Fill in the two sections below)
-Strengths
• Bard:
To say Fractious is a talented musician is a massive understatement. He's a borderline prodigy, a force of talent and hard work and ingenuity who can play a good number of instruments of various types.
Magic Talent:
The same ingenuity and talent that Fractious puts into his music, he also puts in his magic. He's nowhere near as naturally talented with magic as music, but it's still a good boon.
NEVER GIVE UP:
Fractious doesn't give up. Literally. He'll lose hope constantly, berate himself endlessly, fail again and again, and he'll make slow, hard, difficult, yet unending progress toward whatever goal he sets his mind to. If he decides to do something, given time, he will do it, chipping away at the problem until he succeeds.
-Weaknesses
• The Untrained:
Talented or no, Fractious doesn't know a lot of things about magic, and even has misconceptions about the other elements. He only has a laymen's knowledge of anything other than pure mana, elemental and illusion magic, and what he does know is still not very advanced magic theory. Just basic cantrips or some fundamental spells(such as imitating a weak form of healing light).
What Strength?:
Fractious is not exactly a bastion of might. He's pretty weak, in fact.
Oops:
Fractious is...clumsy, to say the least. When trying to sneak around in nature, he'll step on EVERY LEAF. When attempting to escape from danger, he'll trip on the SMALLEST IMPERFECTION IN THE GROUND. The only exception is when he plays music, then he becomes some sort of lute-ninja with his fingers, precise and wonderful.
Uneducated:
Crippled:
Equipment:
Mom's Ocarina - Fractious keeps his mother's ocarina on him at all times. He's able to play it very, very well.
Lute - He also keeps a sweet lute on his person.
Flute - And a flute.
Small Harp - Let's just say he really likes his instruments, kay?
Short Sword - Not that he can use it very well.
Sleeping Bag - He carries it whenever he heads into wilderness.
Cane - It helps him walk.
Books on Magic - All taken from his first home. They contain basic magic theory on the more well-known types of magic, namely elemental and mana magic. He also keeps one on Dark Magic and one on Illusion.
Reading Material - He's a bard, obviously he likes a story every so often.
Bio: As far as anyone knows, Fractious just appeared one day in a town in Gelbeterron, hungry, crippled, carrying a lot of books in a backpack and many instruments however he could. He'd gone into the tavern, stuttered through some conversation with the barkeep, and played for cash. He did this for a few weeks, drawing bigger and bigger crowds, until he disappeared. He reappeared in another town, with a group of treasure hunters. He'd taken a job with them, evidently, to help them go dungeon diving, searching for old treasures. They'd had a decent haul, and he'd gotten his cut. He was promptly robbed when he attempted to stop a theft and ended up merely being the victim instead.
Fractious actually became somewhat renowned, always showing up in one place and disappearing then reappearing with new stories and experiences under his belt. He never had a destination in mind, he just...traveled, he enjoyed traveling. Rumors circulated about him, about how he was a prince of Celbaron but had left to escape a meaningless life of luxury. Other rumors that he was secretly a great shadow mage, who was escaping an evil being that had caught his scent. The rumors just stacked up, one might say he was an escaped slave, or a bandit, or a wizard, or even in one case a fallen demigod. Fractious never answered any questions about his past, and just let the rumors circulate.
Fractious still travels to this day, seemingly disappearing and reappearing at a moment's notice.

Are there any separate requirements for using one's own race rather than one of the ones provided? Also, would it be acceptable if I essentially cut out the personality-part of the CS and went with my usual name-age-race/species-appearance-equipment/preferred clothing? I can do Bio, if needed, and I suppose I have no qualms over the weaknesses/strengths section (although I'd say it's too situational to be accurately representative of anything), but I'd rather not do personality, and altogether I can only give it with any accuracy for extremely well-established old characters... For new or semi-new characters I typically have no idea what they might actually be like.
[I furthermore still hold the view that personality has no place on such sheets, simply because it is not immediately evident. Besides, I generally strongly dislike making any kinds of character sheets (or doing any application forms and going through various permit-acquiring procedures - more or less the same things), if you can recall that trait of mine. So, I try to keep those as brief and compact as ultimately possible. I tend to merely skim through others' sheets, too, and read only those parts which concern that which can be seen by merely looking at the characters...]
- I'd make a character sheet after I have posted in another RP that is currently kind of waiting after me.

No, there are no separate requirements to using your own race. As for my character sheet, it is only the basic outline. You can cut out the personality section of it (since I remember you preferring to flesh that out in the RP itself and preferring to do a long introductory post compared to the sheet).

Hello all. Sorry, I edited my previous post to mention I am withdrawing from the RP. Too much going on, I would not be able to commit as much as it deserves.
Void Creature is open, haha! Sorry again, have fun!
Still recovering from Mono. Limited activity. Very sorry.

It is a shame that you are withdrawing, Satheon. However, everyone will have things conflicting (either IRL or something online) and won't be able to contribute to the RP. I personally thank you for your interest in the RP and wish you the best. The RP will always be open if you decide to join in the future ^^

Would it be alright if I simply pmed you the character's history? I like to keep some mystery about my characters' histories, keep people guessing as to what actually makes them tick.

Plus my bios tend to be ridiculously long.
I have no qualms with that, though some basic thing about your character's history is needed for the sheet. I'll need to have a look at it personally to see whether or not all of it or some of it needs to be put in that section.
