It's been a year since the Zombie Virus spread across the globe. Millions died. Millions more than that became the undead. Our story takes us to the outskirts of a small city in Mississippi.......

Jacob had just come out of hiding from the night. The walkers had the advantage at night because humans relied on light to see. Walkers didn't. Jacob began walking down an empty street. He had scouted yesterday and found nothing but half a zombie, which he dispatched with his hatchet. He was hoping there was something to eat here. Perhaps he would find an allie. A few months ago, a group of guys driving a school bus was picking up surviving girls and women and killing boys and males that they were with. Jacob hid until they drove by.
Jacob shook his head. He hadto have hope that there was no one like that here.....

Haru opened the door to the small cupboard she was hiding in. She hid inside the cupboard, running from a few walkers. She looked around and carefully made her way out. She sighed and dusted herself off as she grabbed her backpack from a nearby corner, sighing out of relief that it wasn't taken from her. She slipped on the bag and dusted herself off. She looked around the room before grabbing any necessities and left the house, making sure she wasn't spotted by any walkers.

jacob walked down the street and came across a house that looked fairly clean. Looks like the gates kept most of the looters out.
Jacob grabbed the rope coil he had and threw the end over the edge. He proceded to climb over the gates and dropped down. Upon seeing no walkers, he walked to the door and punched the glass inwards so he could unlock it.
Once unlocked, Jacob walked inside and began exploring the kitchen. There had to be some non-perisables here.

Haru climbed over the fence and jumped down. "Let's hope they at least have some food here," She mumbled to herself. She made her way to the back door and took out a couple of pins from her pocket. She looked around, making sure she was safe and proceeded to pick the lock. After succeeding, she quietly opened the door and stepped inside the house. It was probably stupid of her to go inside the house without a weapon, but she could run if needed.She heard the glass break and grabbed the nearest bottle. She made her way to the kitchen where the sounds of ruffling where coming from and leaned against the wall. After taking a deep breath she came out from her hiding spot and threw a bottle at the person she thought was a walker. Her eyes widened and she gasped in horror, "I'm so sorry!"

Jacob saw the bottle just barely miss his head. He flinched and rolled around to see a girl screaming that she was sorry.
"Who are you? Have you been following me?"
It had been a long time since he had seen another human, let alone a very beautiful girl.
"Did anything follow you?"
Jacob lept up and looked out a few windows, and, seeing nothing, turned back to her.....

Haru sighed in relief and shook her head.
"My name's Haru, and no I haven't been following you. This place is the only house left that didn't look like it's been ransacked. I made sure nothing followed me here, so you have nothing to worry about." Haru crossed her arms and leaned to the side.
"What are you doing in this town?"

Jacob nodded.
"I am here for the same reasons. I came here just yesterday, checking out the store. The only thing worth much was a coil of rope, a bottle of asprin, and 4 bottles of water. That is why I decided to come here today. You see that pile of bodies about a half mile from town? I think that the townsfolk held off the walkers before....disapearing."
Jacob looked her in the eyes.
"Ok, Haru, would you like to help me? You're the first relatively sane human I have come across."

Haru raised an eyebrow and put her hands on her hips.
"I don't know, that's a lot to ask. I've always been on my own. Besides, how do I know that I can trust you?"

[King Serperior]

"How can you trust me? Ok, here is how. I see that you carry no weapon, so take my hatchet."
Jacob placed his hatchet on the counter beside him and moved away so that if she felt she had to, she could get it before he did.
"Ok, look, I've been alone for the past half year now. I...it's been tough on me. I am not sure I can continue to survive alone. You may not like me, nor trust me, but our survival can increase if we at least try to work together."

Haru eyed Jacob suspiciously before taking the hatchet.
"Fine. I don't trust you yet, so one wrong move and I'll chop off your hand," Haru said, trying to sound somewhat intimidating, even though she knew she wouldn't have the heart to.
