I'd prefer original characters, actually. Sort of the idea is that these are new masked vigilantes who have risen up in Batman's place.

That's cool. You can use any characters from the comics/movies/cartoons as inspiration, certainly. But I would still prefer if players' characters were still original. May have you play Nightwing (and Techbro as Batgirl) as NPCs, so to speak. Basically such people would still be around every now and then, but I'd prefer your main character to be original.

You could be an original villain, yes, but I'd like to limit the number of people playing villains.
I love the primace and have seen it before but still my feelings for it are undiminished
