    Spookhouse~ Take back the night

    October 31st, 1945

For the eyes of the supreme council only. Any unauthorised reading of this letter, or speaking...even in conversation the names contained within carries the highest possible punishment. Execution on the spot without trial or ritual.

Dear members of the Allied Supreme Council

It is with a steady hand that I write to you to inform you of the most recent developments. I pray that this letter finds you all well and that, in the shadow of Hitler’s regime we can begin to face this new and terrible threat with fire in our bellies and hope in our hearts.

As you know the Nazi SS branched into several distinctive divisions near the end of the war. One in particular, the 'Occult Warfare' division was thought to be something of a hoax, or the last desperate act of a mad man. Indeed the United States and my superiors in London also set up a paranormal defence section here but it was somewhat tongue and cheek. I am sure you know the type of thing, séances to locate U-boats, using Tarot cards to predict major events and then there was that unfortunate incident in Glasgow where we attempted to open a portal from George Square to Berlin. We still haven't found anything of the Jewish mystics we employed.

However, I fear that the Nazi regime was one step ahead of us there as they were in many aspects. The great problem appears to be that the heartland of Germany is soaked in something that draws the supernatural to it like a moth to the flame. The recent perversions committed by the Nazi party upon the Jews, a rather spiritual people are also thought to be feeding something in the dark. Our leading metaphysis have concluded that one can only commit so many atrocities in one place before something catches into the earth and that is where the problem begins.

The Nazi party also knew this and as unbelievable as it sounds the SS actually managed to form it into a weapon. Details are a touch sketchy but it appears the general idea is placing a cursed artefact into a V-12 missile and launching it at a specific target. The area will upon detonating become soaked in dark energy and this will summon, or attract monsters to that location, strengthen them the longer they take up residence. Naturally as military men you can see the problem if one of our largest cities becomes a werewolf packs territory, or was infested with ghouls.

Following the councils ruling in six months ago I have formed an organisation of sorts similar in style the American OSS ( or CIA as I hear they are now being called) that will be the first response against such supernatural threats, and will be charged with researching, monitoring and...Retiring of any supernatural threat towards America, Russia, Britain, France, or any other nations. With your approval and funding, our great nations will never again endure the tyranny lurking in the dark.

I have already located and employed several individuals who will act as a home staff. For the sake of international security the names of field agents will be kept secret.

A group from Japan contacted us shortly after Hiroshima pledging their support to the elimination of the supernatural threat. Apparently this group, calling themselves 'The Brotherhood of life' has been doing the job we seek to do for several hundred years. Founded by the Shogun of Japan, the group mainly deploys to tackle threats of unread ghouls which until the 1800 were apparently huge problem in Japan, accounting for the countries policy of isolation. The group has already sent a charming gentleman by...and please forgive my spelling of this name. 'Kazuya Kazama Takeshi Hattori'. Mister Hattori is descended from the famous Ninja of Sengkok Jidai period and will be training our operatives in counter paranormal hand to hand techniques.

We have also managed to acquire the assistance of a rather brilliant young woman by the name of Jennifer Christmas, A doctor who specialised in crypto-zoology but was drafted during the war to develop weapons for the Americans. Apparently she has decided to combine the two passions and will be responsible for the researching, and exploitation of the creatures you encounter. She has been given the most technologically advanced lab back at HQ and will be expecting extensive reports from each field agents after every operation.

Lastly we have recruited a... unusual chap from the Highlands of Scotland. He somewhat came along with Miss Christmas. The two appear to be romantically involved and frankly a stranger pairing I've never seen. “Fighty" Jon Chapter is frankly...a bit of a mad bastard. He fought with the Black Watch during the Second World War where he earned his reputation for insanity by destroying a German supply train and a considerable section of Rail Bridge with just a hand grenade, a shovel and a jeep. I can’t understand a bloody word he says but he appears to be very good with weapons and equipment so I have employed him to work the armoury and be a quarter masters of sorts. He will be responsible for outfitting the teams and providing tactical information via radio.

This last chaps a bit of an enigma. We couldn't find a single scrap of information on him. No name, no address, no history and no records of any kind. By the accent we can tell he grew up somewhere in America, but beyond that we know nothing. He sought out the organisation when we were first formed, apparently this kind of thing has been his work for quite some time and while him...frankly has the social skills of Attila the Hun his experience could be vital.

Finally, it might amuse the panel to hear that I've concluded a name for our new organisation. At first I was going to go with the name Project X but one of the gentlemen I work alongside to form it decreed that to be a 'wankers name' and therefore I have decided to go with the unofficial moniker this project has picked up.

We are Spook house, and we will retake the night.

    Colonel Avery Blackmore
    Formerly of the Coldwater Guards
    Acting Director of Spook house."

    ATTACHEMENT

    Name:Unknown
Alias: The Strange Man - Stranger
Age:Unknown, appears to be mid thirties
    Height: 6'3"
    Weight: 190 lbs
    Skin Tone: Pale
    Eye colour: Dark Brown
    Hair:Black

    Psyche Report (Personality:

The Stranger is a man of few words. He is withdrawn, rough around the edges and very, very cold. He speaks with a monotone that only ever breaks into a sarcastic tone. He appears to have zero social skills and very little respect for his fellow Spookhouse members. He is also somewhat disrespectful for the chain of command.

In a crisis Stranger is cold, calm and collected. The man is utterly jaded and rarely frightened by anything and his solutions are often brutal and to the point. He seems to regard his fellow team mates as somewhat expendable and will only go out of his way to keep them alive because they might come in useful in the future. He is ruthless and perfectly willing to let someone else take a bullet for him. Self serving and cunning, the Stranger is needless to say not a people person.

For some unknown reason the Stranger utterly, completely and beyond a shadow of a doubt hates monsters, in all shapes and forms. He does not appear to even have beenharmed or wronged in any way by monsters and has frankly taken to the profession of monster hunting the same way another man would decide to be a boot maker or a taxi driver.

    Skills: Include ALL skills.

The Stranger is a cold killer with a remarkable aim. Ambidexterous, he can shoot equally well with both hands and has a wide knowlage of modern weapons and tactics. He can drive cars, trucks and even a light armour vehicle, but cannot fly or swim.

The stranger has a little bit of medical skill but prefers to kill rather than heal. Stranger does have a practical knowlage of monsters, but lacks the academic and spiritual lore that some other people know, therefore he cannot exorcise a demon, or cleanse a house. He specalises in killing monsters of flesh and blood. Ghosts, and demons are beyond him.

While not especially talented at hand to hand combat Stranger does employ several techniques designed to get himself out of harms way, and is a big man with remarkable physical strength. The stranger is also a fairly intelligent man and speaks Romanian, Hungarian and Russian.

    Equipment:

The stranger carries holy water, garlic cloves, A cross, , a bible and a lighter. Stranger also wears a pair of chunky, 'high tech' brass goggles that act as a very primitive pair of night vision goggles. The stranger also carried a pocket watch designed to detect and indicate the flowing of infernal power.

Weapons: The stranger prefers a pair of Forty Five calibre pistols ( Colt 1911's) with long barrels and specalist rounds. Alongside the usual pistol rounds he carries a silver tipped variety. The stranger also soaks each bullet in Holy Water before loading, and carves a cross onto the point of the round, making them of limited use against demons and vampires. For emergancy close quarter combat the Stranger carries a knife marked with SS and Nazi symbols as well as having a lesser key of Solomon etched onto the blade. One has to ask how an American comes across SS Occult Warfare division equipment?

    Eye colour: "Green"
    Hair: "Red"

    Psyche Report:

WARNING: We advise you to keep away from Cats and Snakes; seems she tends to overact with these animals near by. Such involves; paranoia, easily agitated, and seems unpredictable. Subject tends to keep all persons at distance. No personal information is given yet she tends to demand information of those around her. For best interest, allow her some files but be sure to block out major important information. We also warn you not to mention Unicorns as real creatures, for subject tends to go on rampage that will surely kill any egos in the room. After one agent asked where to find Unicorns, she went into a two week rampage of his stupidity. He had quite his job and hasn't been heard nor seen sense, last time we heard of him was when his mother called asking if we could inform another agent to send the pin up that he had allowed him to barrow.

In solitary subject tends to enjoy reading. Along with this document there should be several truckloads of books and manuscripts. These will be able to keep her at bay and keep all tempers down. These papers will also help you with your monster finding and killing. You will also find a letter from Avi to not touch anything. We highly recommend you to listen if you enjoy your manhoods. She will be able to tell you about everything that you need to know. We also highly recommend that you have a small room for her hobby, bird keeping. If you must, make it her sleeping quarters as well, that may be best.

Subject, while vicious in her own right, also has a side to her that is nice. While she tries to push people away, it isn't uncommon to see her try bringing in a gentler tone to bring in more conversation or people to stay with her. When around young animals or humans, everything seems to change about her. She is soft spoken, smiling, and motherly but not so much to drown in. It seems she just doesn't want to be alone, but is afraid to not be alone.

    Skills:
Langrages: Fluent in Latin, French, Greek, Hungarian, German, English, and Russian.

Strength: Very little, not enough for a solid punch.

Medical: While knowledgeable on the subject she has very little hands on abilities.

Agility: Amazing progress. Very light on feet, able to leap and jump far and long. She has excellent speed, and seems to be very nimble.

Weapon expert/knowledge: Subject will know more about weapons that effect monsters, however very little about guns used in the war. We have tried to train her shooting skills however in the end she always ends up throwing the gun instead of shooting it.

Knowledge: She has more information then we do.

    Equipment:

A few Books and documents. Her wee .22 longshoot Smith and Wesson Pistol. Glass vales (For collecting specimens). Twin Daggers

Weapons: .22 longshoot smith and wesson pistol. Twin daggers

    History:

    Classified.

See documents being held with Subject.

On Monsters, history, Lore and so on.

This is very much OOC information as monsters have only recently come under the attention of humanity. If your character knows about them its through personal experince and careful research. These are the facts. Also I'm a sucker for IC in this OOC ( I know) so...here it goes

    Vampires

" O-okay heres the deal! Everyone says vampires started with Count Dracula AKA Vlad the Impalar? Right? Right? Eeeeeeugh Wrong! Sa-sa-see vampires go way back! Like biblical back! You've heard of Adams sons Caine and Abel right? Okay get this! Caien and Abel were brothers, one worked as a shepard, thats Abel, nice guy...Wholesome stuff, and Ca-Ca-Caine! Caine worked as farmer, fair enough, nice guy tilled the land. Bah-bah-but God! God asks for a gift, I dunno maybe it was his birthday? Sa-Sa-So Caine brings some of his crop to the fire! But Abel brings a lamb and thats where the trouble starts. Caine kills Abel and places his body on the fire but God dosen't like this! he comes down and he says ' Hey Caine! Why did you kill your brother? Thats bad, Thats the worst thing you coulda' done! So now I curse you with a mark, and you will walk the world for all the days, unkillable and hated!"

So Caine gets cursed and voila! The first vampire is born! Later he would become known as 'He who comes with the night'. Catchy huh? No? Fuck you! Pretty good for cave men!

So anyway Caine walks the world and meets Lilith, Adams first wife who... right up untill now has been so busy fucking the demons created when God seperated the Dark and the Light that she is a little fucked in the head. So she meets mister tall, dark and unkillable and bam! They make little babies! Evil babies! They make twelve of them! Alls fine for a couple of hundred years untill Caine's children get greedy and seek their fathers power. One night, in what must have bee nthe worlds first ever ca-ca-coup they try to seize Caine's power. You know what the first rule on the firstp age of the rulebook of 'Fighting Caine' says? You lose!

Caine kills all but four of his children who flee him across the world to hide and thats where vampires ceom from! The descendents of those four children.

One of 'em goes to Europe, where he spreads vampirism and creates the first spawns of vampires. These guys are the classic vampire. Pale, pah-pah-pah-pretty! Hair on the palms and bad breath. need to sleep on grave dirt, vulnerable to silver, crosses, can't cross runnin' water, you know the drill!

One of 'em goes to America eventually, same deal! But the ones that go to Asia spawn a different breed of vampire who feed on emotions! Like love and hate. Frankly...these guys love to fu-fu-fuck! After all you your never more emotional in the throws of ectacy right? I mean one minute your getting head from a supermodel and the next...BAM! She's using your member like a straw to suck your brains out and not in the good way!

Not enough for ya? Fine! Okay lets go over the ground rules. Vampires can fuck but they can't make babies. They are dead, end of story. Vampires hearts bah-bah-beat! But... only when they want them too! They need to drink fresh blood every month, and sleep every day in coffins filled wit hthe earth fo their native soil which sucks if you happen to come from...I dunno... Atlantis! What? Atlantis did exist, fuck you I KNOW IT DID!

Anyway how do you kill the dead? Pretty simple. You've got a few methods, Whats that you say? Stake 'em through the heart? Huh? Huh! eeeeeeegh! Wrong again! Staking them through the heart only stops them from moving. If you wanna kill them completely you gotta stake em through the heart then cut off their head...Then you gotta burn the body and sprinkle holy water on the ashes. Hitting 'em with holy water burns them if its skin contact, or has the same effect as a stake if it enters the body. Vampires can't cross running water, touch bibles or religious icons and burn in the sunlight. They -can- enter a building without being asked, but they can't feed if they aren't invited. They -can- tear you to pieces, drag you outside and suck on you like a two dolla' hooker bah-bah-but thats not the point!

Thats the good news, here is the bad. Vampires can control ANY animal that lives in a group excluding humans and werewolves. That sucks right? Know what else sucks? They're immortal. Can't die apart from violence or through an accident like...I dunno, going on Holiday to Florida. Even the youngest vampire can slide their fingers through steel without effort. No wonder the Germans tried to introduce them to the army in the Uber-Soldat project uh? Only problem is when your six hundred years old and some asshole in a uniform tells you 'Tear those guys to pieces but not us' the vampire tends to get a little offended! Vampires are faster than humans but not as fast as you'd think, A little beyond what an olympic athelete can manage but not by much! Also, because they tend to live a long time and get eally bored during that time a lot of them take to studying magic! Not a bad ife for the small price of ETERNAL DAMNATION amma right?"

Well, here's a profile for my character. Let me know what you think.

    Name - Flint Hobten.

    Alias - N/A.

    Age - 26.

    Height - 5' 8".

    Weight - 135 lbs.

Skin Tone - Fair, slightly tanned.

    Eye colour - Brown.

    Hair - Brown.

Psyche Report - Flint Hobten is a kind, intelligent, outwardly cheerful individual. Capable of independence, Flint enjoys talking to people, but especially in combat situations prefers to work on his own.

Flint has a high IQ, and an aptitude for research, though he is more or less a jack of all trades, with experience in skills as diverse as archaeology and lighter-than-air craft operation. He can do desk work excellently, but works just as well if not better in the field, and will make excuses to join field expeditions. Years of globe-trotting have made him an expert on travel and logistics, which he enjoys organizing.

Despite his youthful demeanor, Flint is a man who has seen things which were not meant to be seen by Human eyes. People who have met him often say "his eyes are too old for his body", and indeed, there are certain experiences which he refuses to discuss; chiefly, his time with the disastrous Voss Expedition in Antarctica.

Skills - Flint Hobten is a fairly versatile individual. An experienced globe-trotter, he is an expert at organizing logistics for expeditions to even the most remote places on Earth. He is an accomplished pilot, especially of lighter-than-air craft such as blimps, zeppelins and balloons, though he can also fly fixed-wing aircraft quite well.
More than anything, however, Flint is an expert on ancient lore and civilizations. He has an extensive knowledge of ancient cultures, especially those that are very obscure. He can speak a number of languages fluently, including German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, various Nahuatl dialects, Quechua dialects, Mawan, Pochutec, Navajo, Japanese, Hokkien dialects, Cantonese, Mandarin, Latin and Greek, and has a knack for translating written languages, especially pictographs such as those used by the Mayan people and others. He also seems to have an instinct for finding areas with heavy paranormal activity.

Equipment - Always wears a small obsidian pendant, engraved with an image of an unknown South American deity similar to early depictions of Viracocha. Its details are impossibly fine, and experts say that its craftsmanship could never be duplicated even with modern tools. It was apparently found in the same ruins in which Flint was born, and he has had it since he was a child. The pendant does not seem to have any actual mystical power of its own, but the image on it seems to mean something to certain older breeds of supernatural creatures, some of which will turn and run if it is presented to them.
Its age is indeterminate, but Flint's own research has discovered evidence of its existence going back tens of thousands of years at least.

Weapons - Flint carries a Hafdasa C-2 submachine-gun chambered in .45 ACP, which he has used since his fateful trip to Antarctica in 1938. He has also been known to carry a Shanxi Type 17 (presented to him as a gift by General Yan Xisan in 1941, when Flint traveled to China on behalf of MI6) and a Bowie knife.

History - Flint Hobten, despite his young age, is an experienced globe-trotting adventurer with a number of impressive exploits to his name. An American with dual British citizenship, Flint traveled the world with his parents, and was in fact born in 1920 in South America, during an archaeological dig at a remote site in the Andes mountains. These ruins are of indeterminate origin; their construction resembles that of Bolivia's Pumapunku site, though much, much older. Flint makes a pilgrimage to these ruins every five years, and closely guards their exact location from all but his closest friends.
Since birth, it appears Flint has had a knack for finding locations with supernatural properties. This may be related to the circumstances of his birth.

Flint has been to all seven known continents, and has extensively researched an eighth. Over the course of his adventures, he has had many paranormal experiences, and as a matter of course has researched a great many phenomena. He participated in an expedition to Antarctica in 1938-39, and has since become obsessed with an obscure pantheon of ancient gods, and the modern-day cults which still worship them. He refuses to speak about most of the things he saw on the expedition, only vowing that, one day, he will return to the continent with sufficient force to "destroy the cosmic WRONGNESS that lingers within those terrible mountains...".

Possibly due to the location of his birth, Flint seems to have the protection of an unknown South American deity (possibly Viracocha, or a similar god). It tends to manifest more strongly near the ruins of Incan structures and other related cultures, and subtly protects Flint from harm. It is most often attributed simply to good luck.

Flint is mission ready. I love the character. Something very Lovecraft about him and I'm glad to see people are bringing skills we a group would actually need. Flint will be one of two field experts along with the lovely Avi.

    Lycanthropes

    " Arrrrrrrroooooooowwwwwwwwww.

What do you mean it dosen't sound like a wolf? It sounds exactly like a wolf, fuck you! If you had gone through school you'd know what a wolf sounds like... Ah-ah-ah-alright you got tha-tha-that look in your eye and I don't want you to hit me so we can just go on with it.

Like vampires lycanthropes are thought to have a common ancestory...Only problem is no-on has ever seen him or her. Every culture in the world has stories of men becoming beasts. Native Americans called 'em skinwalkers, europe calls them wolfmen. Even cultures that have never encountered a lycanthrope instinctivly know that their is something in the woods at night!

Okay so here are the facts from the fiction. A werewolf is NOT a wendigo, similar creatures in the same way that a wolf is similar to a dog. If both the wolf and the dog are flesh eating creatures of the night!

Okay Lycanthropes live in packs like normal wolves. While most vampires are solitary, having maybe one or two vampiric underlings and a few playthings to keep themself amused during the night werewolves flock together the minute the curse takes effect. The pack is ruled by an alpha male and alpha female, the rest is composed of younger lycans with maybe one or two human followers as the omega's. Remember that feral kid they found in France in 1200? How he was such a lovely little urchin just lost in the woods, couldn't speak a lick of English? Poor kid right? WRONG! Little did you know that kid grew up to The Beast of Gévaudan that terrorised the french country side shortly before the Frecn revolotion! Uh-uh-unlike vampires, werewolves can mate and produce offspring, but the offspring are born human. The sway of the moon only takes hold around puberty and guess what? Right about the time little Jimmy starts to notice the tits on the girl next door BAM! Wolfman! Try using that as an excuse as to why you were late for gym class!

The good news? Most lycans are forced to follow the pattern of the moon, completely human untill the moon is fully! In human form they still live in packs and often form close knit communities. Lycans are very vulnerable to silver, it breaks down their flesh and causes a type of shock that renders them immobile and eventually dead. Wolfbane flowers have a similer effect and for some fuckin' reason they tend to avoid crossroads.

Unfortunatly...thats the plus side. The bad news is they are stronger, faster and tougher than humans, oh and...you know they have a chance of turning into a seven feet tall killing machine. Lycans get steadily stronger as they get older and while they are immortal their physical power does reach a peak. Lycans around a hundred years old don't need to obey the moon and can turn at will, I hear some of 'em even stay that way all the time! Must be the ball licking thing that attracts them...

So in summery, Silver bullets, or failing that run like hell. Lycanthropes are so silly dangerous I dunno how to say it so try to never, ever meet one."

    Psyche Report (Personality:
WARNING: The following information was obtained via the OSS and the KGB. It is highly classified. Subject has a cold, distant personality. he was a double agent during the European Theater of War. he has valuable experience in stealth and disguises.

He is a spy, first and foremost, he specializes in scouting and sniping. He attempts to seek out enemies and spot them and allow his allies to target them and take them out. His conversations are short and brief. He keeps mostly to himself, though, if he is speaking about guns or about activities or information that he carries, he tends to be a bit descriptive.

Stuart has a nose for information, he's always searching, looking to find out new ways of kkilling enemies. New ways of getting to his targets. he has an incredible power of deception and disguise, to the point where he can seem like an entirely different person. However, turning this power "off" can be difficult and it does endanger some of his relationships with others.

Skills: Stuart's main skills are his accuracy with long ranged rifles, deception, disguise. he is fluent in English, German, Swedish, and French.

Hey! Good character sheet save for one thing.

The sniper rifle he is using has not been invented yet, and won't be for another twenty years. Also the ammo type it uses is also not yet in exsistance. So you'll need to change it. If your looking for a similer rifle the closest russian rifle would be a Mosin Nagant rifle. Change the rifle and your mission ready.
