The Downfall of the Blue Exorcist

    The Plot:

A human woman who went by the name of Yuri, though she was an Exorcist, had a unique view of demons, believing they entered Assiah because they were curious. She even went as far as to fraternize with Satan, allowing him to possess her body so she could show him life in Assiah. Eventually she became pregnant with Satan's children and the result was two twin boys, one named Yukio and the other Rin. Rin inherited Satan's powers and demonic appearance while Yukio was too fragile to do so and came out looking more like his human mother than his demon father. The two grew up close as brothers though, in reality, they couldn't be anymore different. Yukio became an Exorcist at a young age and Rin dropped out of school after junior high with only limited knowledge of Exorcists and their workings.

The two lived in a monastery with a man by the name of Shiro Fujimoto who acted as their biological father. Shiro sealed Rin's powers at birth within an ancient sword known as the Kurikara, a demon slaying sword, with the help of a certain someone, thus allowing Rin to live as a human.

However, this only lasted 15 years, when a fateful incident involving Father Fujimoto occurred. A number of demons headed by one named Astaroth came for Rin but Shiro arrived just in time to exorcise the demon and to get Rin back to the monastery and safety. However, Astaroth was determined and returned, once again possessing the body of a young boy by the name of Shiratori before pursuing Rin once more.

Back at the monastery, Rin was given the demon-slaying sword, Kurikara, and told that he was the son of Satan, that his satanic powers were sealed inside and that if he drew it, he could never return to being human. Shiro then locked Rin in the room where he had given him the sword and a phone with a single number in the contact list just as the demons arrived only to have Rin break out when the fight was nearly over.

The fight ended shortly after and that's when the father told him to call the only phone number in the contacts list again of the phone he had given him earlier. Hurt and confused, Rin believed Shiro was tired of acting as his father and only wanted to get rid of him. Rin snapped and told Shiro he should stop pretending to be his father, which resulted in Shiro slapping Rin hard across the face.

Rin's words hurt Shiro's heart and broke down his will, thus resulting in his being possessed by Satan, who opened the Gehenna Gate and tried to drag Rin through it. However, Shiro regained control of his body briefly with a burst of willpower long enough to take his own life, thus causing Satan to lose control of his body. Yet both Rin and Shiro's body were being drug into the gate with Rin unable to break free of it. Despite the consequences he had been warned about, Rin drew Kurikara, thus releasing his demon side and his powers, which he used to destroy the gate though it was too late as Shiro was already dead.

Rin decided to become an Exorcist to destroy Satan and was accepted into True Cross Academy with the help of Mephisto Pheles. He trained alongside his classmates with the warning ingrained in his head to avoid using Satan's power too much or it may cause unforeseen disasters.

Rin tried his hardest to listen to this advice but things did not work out the way he planned; circumstances kept arising where he was forced to use the powers, whether it was to save someone he cared about or someone else was forcing him to use them. Later on in his training as an Exwire and as Rin kept using the powers, he began to change. His demon features became more prominent, almost impossible not to notice, and he seemed to become angrier and even power hungry.

Finally, one day came when Rin was alone, Yukio being off on his own business, Satan called out to him. Far gone and twisted by now, Rin listened to his father's offer of power which could only come by opening the Gate of Gehenna and allowing it to take over Assiah. Rin allowed Satan to possess his body and immediately they went to work on summoning the Gehenna Gate. Many came to try and slay Rin but he fought back violently, his powers enhanced by Satan's presence in his body. The gate stayed open even as he fought, demons straying out of it by the hundreds, wreaking havoc on Assiah as Gehenna fought to overcome the pure world.

Eventually Assiah could no longer resist and succumbed to Gehenna, much to Satan's glee. He watched in twisted satisfaction as humans began to morph into the various creatures of Gehenna, some receiving subtle changes and others receiving much more drastic ones. He laughed hysterically in triumph though his laugh was cut short by an inhuman roar tearing from the body he currently inhabited. With his tail lashing in anger and intense blue flames surrounding his body, Rin snarled at his father.

"This is my world, you bastard! Get out of my body NOW!"

The flames grew even more intense and the air was filled with an ear-piercing wail that sounded utterly inhuman and terrifying. The wail kept up for several long moments, growing more pained with each passing second until it abruptly stopped.

Rin stood still for several moments before glancing out at his morphed subjects, a sadistic grin spreading across his features, revealing his full mouth of pointed teeth.

"Welcome to Gehenna, your new home."

Do you enjoy being a newly born demon or do you hate Gehenna with all your heart and want to go back to being human? There are rumors spreading that there is a group that wants to bring back Assiah as well, ones that Rin himself has even heard, though nothing is known about this group, such as who is in it or if it even exists. Will you seek out the rebel group, will you take things into your own hands or are you content to sit and enjoy your new life?

    The Rules:

Pretty standard stuff, respect each other, follow the site rules, things like that. Canons from the show and made ups are accepted. Your made ups can be any of the races, even reborn demons, since obviously the characters of the show aren't the only humans to exist in Assiah. Made ups as well as canons can be teachers Rin hired to work in True Cross Academy though they'll most likely be demons, since they have special favor with Rin. They can also be bodyguards for Rin or double agents for or against Rin, if you so desire. Be creative, the artistic license is yours, just please follow the basic guidelines for whatever species you choose. =3

Here's the link to the OOC where you can post your character bios if you're new or get all the information pertaining to the different races.

    OOC: http://roleplayerguild.com/showthrea...-Blue-Exorcist

    The Setting:

The setting is going to be the world of Gehenna though we're going to have to take some liberties with it since it wasn't shown in the anime. Since it's overtaken Assiah, I intend for some of Assiah's original structures to remain, such as the monastery where Rin and Yukio lived and True Cross Academy though it will have an addition where Rin lives, isolated from all those who want to kill him.

The list of characters and who plays them:

    The Pure-Blood Demons:

    *Rin Okumura-Larka
    *Mekhai-Larka

    The Reborn Demons:

    *Igor Neuhaus-Larka

    The Pure-Blood Angels:

    *Ayane Riuya-Firebubblez

    The Hybrid Angels:

    *Michael Duciel-Laughingman

    Mekhai:

Gehenna, a foul place equivalent to hell, ruled by darkness and demons. Assiah, the former realm of the humans that had fallen victim to it. In this hybrid world where anything seemed possible, a solitary pure-blood demon strode through the streets near True Cross Academy, which remained as majestic as ever though it possessed a much darker aura these days, its light majesty tainted by the darkness of Gehenna. Even the curriculum had grown much darker, the subject of demonology working its way into the school while the art of being an Exorcist had been altered. Their goal was now to destroy humans if, Rin forbid, they ever saw any. They were also being trained for another purpose as well: to exterminate any angels they might see on the grounds that their existence proved true. For all Rin had heard was rumors, one of an angelic insurgence coming to take his life and restore the human world of Assiah to its original glory while doing who knows what with Gehenna. It had set the son of Satan on edge but frankly, Mekhai was above all this and thought nothing of it.

He hated his own species for its naturally violent tendencies and strove to be peaceful instead, a part of his nature he believed he inherited from his gentle mother though this doesn't keep him from interfering in fights, a habit he believed his father endowed upon him.

With a sigh the twenty-six year old demon ran a hand through his long, smooth brown hair before letting his hand flop down by his sheathed sword at his waist, longing to draw it and engage in a dance with someone. He lived by the sword and loved to teach people of its way, believing it a way of life and honor. When he was unable to do this, however, he often did jobs on the side for people out of the goodness of his heart, though he'd take the pay any day if they'd give it. One had to make a living in this crap-hole somehow and there was no way in hell he'd work for Rin, who was the worst of all the demons with his senseless slaughter of the humans during the takeover.

He stretched, a yawn escaping from between his lips as he did so, his clothes revealing nothing of his muscular body as both his white shirt and pants were baggy. Once his muscles were a little more awake, for he had woken not too long ago, he brushed off his forest and sand-colored tunic, adjusted his scaled shoulder guards and his brown arm guard before setting out, ready for another day full of work until the moon shone brightly in the sky. Beneath his thin dark eyebrows, his hazel eyes darted back and forth, scanning the city for anyone who appeared to be in need of assistance.

    Rin:

Pacing back and forth in his new home and sanctuary, Rin's black tail flicked back and forth in his agitation, his blue eyes with their red pupils darting over to the single window adorning his wall. He approached it slowly, chancing a glance out of the window at close range, expecting to see someone with bright white wings hovering outside it, glowing with an abnormally bright holy light that would blind him, and enough holy water to take down Kuro when he was in his larger form--only the holy water would be meant for him, for he felt that he was the desired target for many a demon or angel's, if they truly existed, knives.

He had heard rumors of an angelic insurgence and couldn't be any more on guard. Speaking of guards, he glanced over at his door to see the two stationed on the inside of his room standing there dutifully...for now. When he looked away from them, who knows what they did? Nor did he care, as long as no one slipped in here to slip a knife between his ribs. The other two on the outside of the door would make certain of that and, if they failed, then these two would make appropriate shields while he escaped.

He slipped back from the window, glancing down at his old school uniform he wore consisting of its un-tucked white shirt, black pants, red, black and white tie and the black jacket with white lining alongside the buttons that had never seen any use. He still remembered his days of training as an Exorcist and his classmates with whom he had trained though that seemed like ages ago. Who knows where they were now or if they had even survived the take-over? Were they still going to be his friends or would they join the rumored insurgence?

With a disgruntled sigh, he flicked one pointed ear and ran his sharpened nails over a solitary table in the corner of the room, completely devoid of anything except surface ruts from this action he repeated almost daily. He flopped down on the stormy blue couch in the middle of his living room, casting a side long glance at his bedroom which was stationed off to the left before his eyes wandered to the kitchen as his stomach growled. The view of the birthplace of many of his succulent dishes was blocked partially by the wall of the living room where he had a TV mounted for his own viewing pleasure if he ever desired to watch it but it rarely saw use.

He stood up abruptly and slipped into the kitchen, his mind wandering through a sea of paranoid thoughts and ideas of what to do for today. Maybe he'd pay a visit to the Academy and see how the classes were going... He casually picked at his sharpened fangs with his elongated nails, ignoring the bright blue glow he had long since grown used to surrounding him, while using his free hand and his tail to gather the supplies he would need to make himself and those around him a nice breakfast. He wasn't making the guards breakfast out of any personal care for them, however, he was solely doing it because it was one of the terms of their hire. He couldn't leave them to starve, thus rendering them less capable of defending him from any assassins who might slip through the cracks, now could he?

Aiko's eyes flew open as she jolted out of her bed. Clutching the covers, she took deep steadying breaths, her face drenched in sweat. By this point, nightmares were typical and practically normal for her, as sad as the fact may be. She could never remember the details, and she knew they were never exactly the same. That is, except for one detail, the one bit that was always seared permanently into her memory, haunting her at every turn.

Right before she would wake up, there was always an image of Rin, standing with his back turned to her. As she approached him, he would turn around, and reach out to her; as he did so, though, he would begin to morph, his demon features growing more prominent, his smile growing evil evil and sadistic, his open arms taunting rather than welcoming. As he changed, his surroundings would change, the bright blue sky behind him turning into a swirling mass of darkness, the gates of Gehenna opening up and inviting demons into their world. As Rin would throw his head back in maniacal laughter, blue flames would begin to erupt everywhere, inciting chaos and destruction, obliterating everything in their path. Aiko always woke just as she was being burned alive, her heart breaking from horror and betrayal.

Loosening her grip on the blanket, she ran the back of her hand over her eyes, breathing out slowly. She had always been prone to nightmares. They had never been quite so vivid as these, nor terrifying, but she had always had the fortune to know that there was a pair of arms somewhere waiting to comfort her, be it Rin or Yukio, or even Shiro when she was younger. Now, though, she was alone, forced to swallow her fears.

Swinging her legs over the edge of the bed, she dropped gently to the floor, curling her toes against the cold. Ever since Gehenna had taken over Assiah, everything had gained an unpleasant chill to it, regardless of the weather or time of year. Padding over to her desk, Aiko ran her fingers gingerly over the smooth wood, and glanced out the window. She still stayed in the same room that she had occupied as a student, but she no longer felt at home. The view just outside the window always made her feel worse. Everything that she had found familiar and comforting was now warped and twisted, shrouded in darkness and evil. Biting her lip, she grabbed the curtain, and yanked it shut. She couldn't even awaken to a proper sunrise like she used to, which used to be her favorite time of the day.

Turning, she quickly changed into her clothes, briefly considering taking a shower, before deciding against it. There was something about taking showers in this new world that made her feel exposed and vulnerable, especially without her old companions. Pulling on a her coat, Aiko stared down sadly as she adjusted her necktie, overcome with the familiar sensation of missing her friends. She didn't know what had happened to them, nor where they had gone. She just couldn't afford to leave Rin's side, no matter how much he had changed; he would always be her precious childhood friend and companion.

Quickly lacing her boots up over her socks, she pulled open the door, and began to run briskly down the halls, eager to join Rin. It was odd, seeing the academy so empty. Of course, classes were going on, but this was a branch meant for Rin and Rin alone. While she often worried about him getting lonely, she had to agree that his safety had to come first.

Slowing to a walk as she approached the large doors to his quarters, Aiko glanced nervously at the large demonic guards on either side. Squaring her shoulders, she nodded curtly at them as she passed, before grabbing the handle of the door and pulling it open. She waited for the heavy wood to slam shut again, before allowing herself to relax and let out a relieved puff of air.
"Rin?" She called out, taking slow cautionary steps forward, glancing around to see if she could catch a glimpse of him. Immediately, her ears picked up the familiar sounds of a spectacular chef rummaging around in the kitchen. Smiling softly, and a little bit sadly, she popped her head into the kitchen.
"Morning~!" She said as brightly as she could. "What are you making? Want any help?"

Black. Red. Black. Red. That was all she saw. It filled her eyes, runing her prestine vision. Her body felt as if it were on fire. Her lungs burned. Her heart thumped with every breath. Finaly, she forced her eyes open, and the bright, blinding, morning sunlight broke into her colored sight. The burning seemed to fade, but it still remained. Ayane examined her surroundings. Trees. Houses. What the hell? Where was she? She climbed to her feet, which were bare as always. Her eyes still raked around her, searching for danger. But all she could hear were the birds chirping. She rubbed her eyes and winced, looking down at her hands. They were scraped. Bloody. Her feet were in the same condition. As well as her arms, legs and face. Oh...And her beautiful white wings. They were tattered...She burst into tears, sinking on to her torn up knees. They would take awhile to heal. How was she supposed to fly back to the heavens? How was she supposed to save herself from the imposed danger? Memories flashed back into her mind, seeming to knock the air out of her. Bright lights. Screaming. Then darkess. And then the snarling of demons.

    Rin:

Rin's long ears took to twitching as he heard approaching footsteps and the brief thought crossed his mind that perhaps he should be worried about them. No one was allowed in here...no one except his guards and his childhood friend, Aiko, whose footsteps he could recognize anywhere and had recognized these ones as.

Despite his transformation, Rin was not completely uncapable of joy though he was murderous and merciless most of the time. A small smile graced his features and he turned to face her as she approached him, the blue flames around him roaring up in response to her presence, as they always did. The silly things were afraid of her, but what for? Angel or not, she was his friend...right? She wouldn't betray him...right?

Casting his doubts aside he placed the pots and pans he had gathered down in rapid succession, leaving his tail to do the rest of the work for him as he stared Aiko down. "Haven't decided. I was thinking of french toast, maybe, with a dash of my Rin flair. Oh, and some eggs too," he said with a wink, his playful nature emerging from the demonic depths of his body though even his perfectly innocent words seemed just as demonic as he had become.

    Mekhai

The opportunity to assist presented itself to him rather abruptly and surprisingly quickly, causing Mekhai to be surprised. Normally he had to search for hours to find something to do, often causing him to get restless and bored. Sometimes, the demonic side of him emerged and the brief thoughts of engaging in some violent act to ease his boredom would flit through his mind only to be crushed down by his strong morality.

His legs worked faster as he made his way to someone who looked much worse for wear and...like an angel. He stopped in his tracks, staring at her bloodied appearance first and then at her tattered wings. She was an angel...

Confused and a little frightened at this opportunity, coming face to face with a creature that was only rumored to exist, Mekhai sidled over to her nervously. "It's not safe for you here," he said softly as he knelt down in front of the angel. "You should probably hide your wings, at least. People here are being trained to kill angels as we speak," he informed quietly.

Ayane shot away, instantly ten feet apart from the stranger. She wasn't exactly sure who it was, but as she examined the creature, she slowly made her way back over to him. "I cannot hide them." she whispered. "I have nothing but this." She motioned down to the dirty, tattered white dress. Slowly, she folded her wings in, hopng that would at least hide them before she got something that was better.

She shivered and went down to the floor again. "I'm going to die, aren't I?" she murmured, looking up at the cloudy sky. "What have I done to deserve something like this....." Her head dropped, and her gaze returned to the floor. It was obvious she wasn't only physically beaten upm but emotionally, and mentally as well. She had no chance in this world. Especially with the people coming to kill angels, and not having her wings for awhile. She was doomed...

    Mekhai

Mekhai's hazel eyes wandered to the girl's dress and, though he willed it not to, pity welled up within him like water filling a spring. "No, you won't die if I have anything to say about it," he whispered softly, reaching one gnarled hand out to the delicate girl.

He watched her for a while before he murmured softly, his voice kind and reassuring, "Come to my place. It's as much of a safe haven as any. I haven't done anything to draw attention to myself so we should be fine there." He hoped she would accept...everyone needed a friend in a world like this.

    Ayane: Pure Blood Angel

Ayane was not only surprised by his sudden offer of kindness, but appreciative as well. "Y-you'd do that for me?" she asked quietly, her blue eyes shining with greatfulness. Nobody, not even the angels, had offered her shelter in a crisis such as this. In fact, they had completely abadoned her, and let her crash land, and even almost die! She did not know that her knid could be so....cruel.

The young angel nodded, slowly getting back up to her feet. Surprisngly, even with all the injuries, her skin was still soft, as an angel's was supposed to be. She looked down at the ground, speaking softly. "Lead the way."

    Mekhai

Before he even knew what was happening, the words sprang to his lips and were uttered in a matter of seconds. "I'd do anything for you," he whispered softly, his voice tender and husky as he gazed at her, his hazel eyes full of warmth. Only after the awkward phrase hung between them for nearly a minute did he realize what he had said and undoubtedly how it would be taken. Red crept into his cheeks until his face looked reminiscent of a tomato and he turned away slowly, clenching his fists.

"U-um...yeah...this way," he murmured with a gesture down the street before he slipped his hands into his pockets, starting to lead the way to his home. How embarrassing! He hoped she didn't say anything...he just wanted to forget the incident entirely. He felt like a moron!

    Igor

I'll kill you, Okumura! Those same words, over and over again, flitted through the mind of a haggard looking man clad in all black, the typical outfit of one who has attained the status of Exorcist. Rather than the normal human way of expressing anger, deep, guttural growls escaped from within the man's core, only to escape from between sharpened fangs and drawn back lips. For this man was no longer human, forced to cast aside his humanity to become something great, but something hated. His single slitted eye narrowed as it took in what the area around True Cross Academy had become. There were freaks everywhere, strangers with odd features, their humanity no longer visible on the outside and for some, it was no longer visible on the inside either, for some had actually embraced their transformations warmly. Well not him. He despised what he had become with every fiber of his being. He loathed the strange ears upon the top of his head that had taken the place of his human ones. The tail was a pain to work with and even worse was when the Fenrir within him woke up, taking over his body and causing him to give into strange animalistic whims. He let out yet another growl, lashing his thick furry tail from side to side, his eye darkening in anger as he turned his gaze upon True Cross Academy. His mortal enemy was in there, living it up lavishly, he knew it. But he couldn't outright go and assassinate him. No, he'd wait, then he'd play both sides for all they were worth.

    Ayane: Pure Blood Angel

Ayane felt warm and welcomed under his tender gaze. She felt as if she was home... Her eyes closed momentarily as she tried to control her enhanced emotions. She opened them, only to find her friend blushing from the words he spoke. She bit her lip and cuffed some white hair behind her ear. She watched as he turned, and it seemed to her by the way he clenched his fists, that he was angry. Had she done something wrong and not noticed it? Or maybe he was just embarrassed an angry with himself. Yes that must be it.

She smiled slightly. "Do not be embarrassed...." she hesitated, unsure of what to call him. "Sir..." she decided that was best. "The way you spoke your words may have sounded....intimate, but it was only saying to me that you are a great man, and you will be there to help a complete stranger." She smiled again, and looked down at her bare feet.
