I know this sounds crazy, but stay with me on this one. But fist, don’t take this seriously. This is just a whole bunch of “what if” situations. So, let’s say Christianity is not a myth, but in fact truth. So there’s this bearded man in the sky called God. He created the angels, and the main one was this dude named Lucifer. You know, Satan. That boogie-man that lurks in the night and temps people with evil thoughts. Here’s a question…

Why is he so bad?

“Because he’s just evil!” Some people may tell you. Apparently the guy and a whole group of angels were thrown out of heaven for rebelling against God. He must have had a reason for doing so though. Maybe he didn’t agree with some of the ideals that God was coming up with. It makes sense. Rebellions pop up all over the world because of that.

Here’s why Lucifer might be seen as an evil figure. You know the old saying that the winners write the history books? So, the bible, that big book of history, that God influenced? Bingo.

God is narcissistic, genocidal, favors one particular race, will doom you to eternity even if you're the most innocent helpful person if you do not swear by him and his son, and will pardon the most heinous of evil people if they but ask for forgiveness at the end.

Also, heaven is an eternity of "glorifying him". You have no pain, no desires, only the desire to worship him.

I think the "evil" cast out angels said fuck this shit. This is boring. Fuck this dude who sits in front of a mirror all day and steps on the people who bow before him.

And he won. Therefore those who rebelled were considered evil, and history depicted them as such.

I believe this wholeheartedly. Lucifer being the "Lord of Lies". Well of course if he tries to convince people that God is really bad ( I.E. Genocidal ), God isn't going to want you to believe that. If Lucifer says Heaven is really Hell, well why would anyone who follows God want you to believe that?

It makes perfect sense. Perhaps Lucifer turned Hell into a Paradise where people are free and able to enjoy their eternity as they see fit, and tries to convince people not to follow this crazy cult and go to their perceived vision of "paradise".

We exchange our believes and ideas, and enlighten one another about things that we didn't know before. Also formulating new possibilities as to why certain things happen, what might happen. I miss the guy.

Did you know Judaism doesn't even believe in a Hell? Instead, it is like a place to work off your sins. Once you are finished, then you can go up to heaven. None of that "Burning for all eternity" crap that everybody if fond of.
