The Gathering of the Garrisons OOC

    WE ARE OPEN.

Garrison: The troops stationed in a fortress or town to defend it. You defend your people. You defend your culture. You defend yourself. You are in a world that knows nothing of everything you are.

There are hundreds, thousands of you. And you were chosen to represent your Garrison. This is an event that has not happened since the dawn of Creation, but it is happening now. And no one knows what to make of it

You belong to a Garrison. Each Garrison belongs to a Division. You were chosen from thousands to represent your people in a gathering of monumental proportions. You are sent to a place, a big one, obviously. You are expected to play diplomat and to make friends. You are expected to follow the rules laid out to you. You are expected to return to your Garrison when this is over and report your findings. The last one may be harder than it first appears.

In each Division, there are hundreds of Garrisons. For example, Water may have Ice Garrison and Fire may have Smoke Garrison. Players will be accepted as long as they can think of a new Garrison to go in a Division. THE EXCEPTION TO THIS IS AETHER. One character per person. See below for details.

    Divisions
Each Division has its own thoughts on the others. It is usually unflattering and isn't always true for all in that Division.

    AIR
It is assumed that they are full of wanderlust. Any straying member of a place-not-here is surely to be an Air Division spy. In most other Divisions, any member not of their Garrison is killed for that reason.

    WATER
It is assumed that they are all hippies who would eat plants and stare at clouds. Their assumed tendency to not take things seriously is frowned upon.

    EARTH
It is assumed that they are all unintelligent athletes who tend to be strong-willed and powerful. All brawn, no brains.

    FIRE
It is assumed that they are hot-headed and run on a very short fuse. While not all in the Fire Division have control over actual flames, other Garrisons are weary of their volatile nature.

    AETHER
A Division shrouded in mystery. It is unknown whether the Division even has Garrisons. It is thought that they will not appear at this gathering.

*If you require assistance thinking of a Garrison idea, do not hesitate to PM me. I can help.

Who can resist the gentle smile of the invidious aristocrat?

I'd feed myself to Aragog's children for that Cup!

    Name: Drem Yolok
    Age: 273
    Gender: Male
Division and Garrison: Earth Division, Stone Garrison
Garrison Information: The Stone Garrison is one of the largest and most famous Garrisons of the Earth Division. The residents of the Stone Garrison are known as Grummites. A hardy folk, they tend to give much respect to those of great power and honor. Grummites live very long lives, as most live to be 1000-1500 years old. At the end of their lives, they are taken to the Hall of the Fallen, below the castle, where they are fused into the rock. Despite these long lives, the only changes their body's make are the ones from infant to adult. Once that aging process is complete, they tend to look the same for the rest of their lives, except for when their body hardens close to the end of their lives. In fact, their King, Dom Yolok, has ruled for nearly 400 years, and he does not look a day older than he did when he came into power. Their skin tends to be harder than a human's, displaying their affinity to stone, and it is not uncommon for it to crack. However, this cracking is only cosmetic, and does not affect them in any other way.
The Stone Division chooses a representative that has proven their strength, and also their wits. Since most of the Earth Division are not very intelligent, they need someone who exceeds the regular capacity of knowledge to represent them at the Gathering.
    Appearance:
Personality: Determined, trustworthy, hates fire with a passion.
Personal Background: Drem Yolok is the youngest prince of the Grummites, and the representative of the Stone Garrison. He was born into Royalty, his father being Dom Yolok, but that did not stop him from training his body and mind to top conditions. At a young age, he began combat training, as most Grummites do. However, he stood out among the others. He could do things that no boy his age should be capable of doing. And yet, he made it seem so easy. After he had become a very capable fighter, he suddenly gained interest in a variety of topics. He went to the Archives where the most intelligent of his kind kept records of what happened in the kingdom, and began to learn from them. He gained a vast knowledge on a multitude of subjects, ranging from nature, to politics. He was contemplating becoming an Archivist, but one day in the castle changed everything.
He was in his room, when it suddenly burst into flames. He shot up from his bed and ran for the door, but not before part of the curtain detached from the rest of it and flew into the right side of his body, leaving a burn over the right side of his face and his entire right arm. He now where's a sleeve that covers the burn, since it is still prone to infection. Later that day, he had learned that the fire was started by someone else. Someone trying to murder him. They eventually caught the would-be assassin, but that attack left a hatred for fire in Drem. When it was announced that someone would be chosen to represent their people, Drem wanted it to be him. And his prayers were heard, for he was chosen to represent the Stone Garrison, of the Earth Division, at the Gathering.

    Fire Division, Heat Garrison

Garrison Information: The Heat Garrison is one of the most well known amongst the Fire division, both for ability and lifestyle. The people of this Garrison are referred to as Teine. The Heat Garrison is home to possibly the most conceited and hot-tempered of the Fire Division, giving good reason for them to live as frivolously as they do. Banquets and parties are regularly held by the Teine, though many outside of their ranks turn their nose up at their uninhibited behavior. Despite this, the Teine treasure intelligence and eloquence, leading many to study quite fervently. All Teine have the ability to control fire, to what degree is entirely based upon focus and studies. The average life span of a Teine is seven-hundred years. Most Teine seperate from their parents at the age of ten, raising themselves. Teine remain quite youthful until roughly the dawn of six-hundred years, upon which their body will quickly decay, their skin and hair seeming to be drained of all color. Teine hold elders in this stage of life quite dearly, taking effort to care for them as a whole. Many Teine traditions revolve around this aging process. Teine seem to lack any sort of political order amongst themselves, though royalty is currently in place, headed by Queen Lorah.

Personality: Aed is rather well-versed in many things, though one would not expect it. Often rather relaxed, Aed speaks slowly and gently, yet always with purpose and eloquence. Free-spirited, Aed is seemingly without worry, though always quick to take arms when his Division or personal honorifics come under attack. When angered, both Aed's actions and words become difficult to control. Never one to turn down a party or a drink, Aed is quite the social butterfly. Far too open and blunt at times, one will likely adore young Aed, or abhor his every move. When not socializing, Aed can often be found reading, or further refining his elemental ability.

Personal Background: Aed started life quite simply, his parents simply the owners of a cloth shop. Aed left home at a slightly early age, roughly eight, seeking brighter things in life that his parents confirmed they could not offer. His youth was spent traveling about the Teine territories, taking in as much of life as one could. This eventually led to Aed finding a home within the Teine library working under the Record Keeper, his days spent receiving Flame twisting lesson from the Keeper, and burying his nose in books. His travels as a youngster fained him many acquaintances, though as far as others knew during his days in the Library, Aed had disappeared. It wasn't until Aed had grown that he began to wander from the library. Having exhausted every collection of knowledge and surpassed the Keeper, the Library no longer served a purpose.

Aed became a wanderer once more, however, this time was different. It wasn't long before Aed was a household name amongst the Teine. The banquets and parties he would fund were just shy of legendary, his attendance making it all the better. Many became infatuated with the young man, his ability and intelligence having far exceeded some Titled members of Teine society, such as the Keeper. Word of Aed's parties made way to the Royal house. Aed, a young man of simple roots, was gifted a home in the Royal district, and given the position of Royal Planner. Opening a smoke shop nearby, Aed found his life was more than he could have imagined. Planning Royal parties, stationed in a rather lavish home, and relaxing in a smoking room on a nearly daily basis, with beautiful company never far from reach.

On the Eve of Queen Lorah's five-hundredth night, Aed was called to council. The Queen, physically weakened, had received call for a representative. After having weighed her options, the Queen deemed that Aed would likely be the most diplomatic. Her knights were certainly known for strength, but most were far from friendly. Assured that the Knights would be at Lorah's side, Aed was urged to accept and travel quickly. Aed graciously accepted the Queen's trust, though he worried about the outcome none-the-less. He had read much of politics, but to be thrust into such a world based on trust and abilities alone...

    Name: Berk

    Age: 99

    Gender: Male

Division and Garrison: Air Division, Storm Garrison.

Garrison Information: The Storm Garrison is known for several things. It's members ferocity in battle, their berserk rage, their honor, their steadfastness and focus, and their minor storm control. Mainly small tornadoes and the ilk, but the most powerful of them can summon full blown Typhoons, Tornadoes, and Hurricanes. It is made out of purely Minotaurs, and the Minotaurs live an excess of 250 years, though the exact number of years hasn't been decided upon, as Minotaurs have a tendency to be killed in battle, and all those who have tried have given up.

    Appearance:

Personality: Cheerful, Loud, Steadfast, Surprisingly focused, and extremely honorable.

Personal Background: Berk, is a personal guard to the king of the Minotaurs, Chotac. He has seen many battles, though only one is really worth noting. The first, and last, civil war of the Minotaurs. It is viewed as disgusting and dishonorable to attempt to usurp the current kings thrown without going through a duel. But, a silver tongued Minotaur managed to convince enough others, unhappy with the current way things were going, to usurp the thrown without the traditional one on one duel. They attacked at night, when most of the guards were relaxing their alertness.

The invaders were halfway through the castle before any mounted resistance could be formed. Berk, was fighting his way to the kings room when he saw something that made his eyes flash crimson and cause him to roar his rage to the sky. The Kings family, down to the young calf of three years old, had been butchered. The perpetrators were walking out, blades and axes still stained red. Berk slew them, sustaining his scar and other wounds, before reaching the king. Several hours later, the usurper was slain, and the civil war laid to rest. Berk was sent to the gathering in place of the King and his family as the former was beset by grief and the latter was dead. Berk was surprised as he expected the King to send someone with the ability to make more than minor Tornadoes for quick movement and strong winds. But, he did not question, and went. Representing Air Division, Storm Garrison.

Berk is accepted. Short, easy-to-remember name. Kind of like berserk.

    Finish with Aed's background and I don't think we'll have a problem.

Wow. Alright. I'll make a character (not sure which angle I want to run this from yet), bump the Int Chk and put up an IC sometime real soon. Sound good? Good.
