Some time has passed since the great hero Commander Shepard gave his life to defeat the Reaper threat twent years ago. All the damage done to the galaxy has been repaired. and peace is restored. Things are looking up for the Milky Way.


Obviously, just as a planet such as earth can never truly be at total peace. Such a mind bogglingly large community as a Galaxy is never at total peace. Mercenary groups still exist, conflicting racial interests still exist (though on a far smaller scale than before) and individual beings are generally no better morally than before the Reaper threat.

Other things have changed, generally improved conditions for many races has lead to a definite expansion of the Citadel Council. At a total of six seats. They are the Asari, Turians, Salarians, Humans, Quarians, and Geth. The Krogan and Batarians were offered seats, but declined, preferring to advance their own culture and society to acceptable levels first.

The members of Shepard's crew have passed on to status beyond that of an ordinary hero. They are all venerated equally as saints. Shepard himself, has become an almost Godlike figure to some, every world he set foot on has a memorial to him, every race he aided counts him as the savior of their race. And even though his consciousness remained, ruling over the Reapers and using their power to rebuild the Galaxy, he refuted this worship. Even though he could be rightly called a God.


Of course, most of that doesn't really matter at this point. What matters is the day to day. Especially in places like the criminal home Omega, where it just matters what mercenary group you have angered and how to get around it. In order to fight this image of a dark spot on Galactic Society, the Leader of the Spectre unit decided to hold a recruitment drive there. And guess what, your character is involved!

This is a post Reaper conflict RP in the Mass Effect Universe. The Control Ending is considered Canon here, and Shepard made all the best decisions. Players will begin on Omega (for whatever reason) and at the Spectre Recruitment Drive (also for whatever reason, you may be a mere spectator, or interested in joining, your decision) My Character will be a new Spectre overseeing the drive and judging the recruits personally for his new Unit. Taskforce "Sparta"

After that is done, the crew will be joined together on a ship, and be given their first objective, depending on the pace I may do a few side missions first. Rest assured that things will get majorly hectic though. One secret well kept from the Galaxy may turn it on its head...


If you don't know much about the Mass Effect universe, it's okay, most of what will be happening will be original to this RP, and I will happily explain things.

Rules.

1. Follow the RPG Guild standard rules. Obviously
2. Cursing is Damned well allowed. But not directed at each other OOC
3. Pet Peeve. METAGAMING. any and all information that a character should not know or be able to deduce themselves from given information (and NO, do not give your character Sherlock Holmes-esque levels of reasoning) I will consider Metagaming. infractions and punishment will be on a case-by-case basis.
4. Please try to post at least once a day (exceptions to this are if there is nothing your character could meaningfully do IC, or if life is getting in the way, please explain if you are not on though.) and make your posts at least one good paragraph. also, Spelling and Grammar, follow them.
5. Be nice to each other.

The militaristic and disciplined Turian species has long been a star player on the Galactic stage. The strong military and government proved an essential asset in the Reaper Conflict. And they were one of the "Original Three" Citadel races. They have held a Council seat for a long period of time.

Turian's are generally the Go-To race for Spectres. Strong military skills as well as a society based on merit means that they all try to be exceptional. Garrus Vakarian was a Turian and close ally of Shepard.

The "Original Generation" of the Citadel Council. The monogendered Asari were the most advanced race for a long time, and their natural biotic talents as well as incredibly long life spans makes them a formidable species. Asari are generally thoughtful and intelligent, but can be seen as too forward-thinking by some, owing to their long life.

Asari are all Biotics, as well as natural leaders. Liara was Shepard's closest Asari ally. She has taken up a position as a general advisor on the Citadel. Offering wisdom and history to all who ask, regardless of social status.

Short Lives. Fast Metabolism. Intelligent amphibious species who held the third council seat. Created the Krogan Genophage. Brilliant Scientists. Sometimes Amoral. Often bad at long-term-planning.

The Salarians are biologic science geniuses. Creating both beneficial and offensive applications. Despite their genius, short lives make them extremely focused on the present, to the point their plans may often go awry. Mordin Solus was Shepard's number one Salarian doctor and ally.

I'm assuming you know what humans are like.

In Mass Effect, Humanity gained a Citadel Council seat thanks to the Influence of Commander Shepard. Though for a long time they were considered the biggest threat to the galaxy with their rapid expansionism and ambition. It is certain that without the efforts of Humanity, the Reapers would have wiped out all advanced life in the Galaxy. Commander Shepard was a Human, but a Hero to everyone.

The technologically proficient Quarians created the Geth, and for a time, were driven from their homeland by the intelligent machines. Living on a group of ships known as the Migrant Fleet, the Quarians rarely interacted with other races, and were often discriminated against by other species. Quarian immune systems weakened due to spending so much of their lives on a completely sterile ship. Thusly they wear full body environmental suits at all times to avoid infection.

Quarians are mechanical geniuses, operating ships and serving as brilliant engineers. Tali'Zorah was Commander Shepard's Quarian ally, currently leading the mission to rebuild their homeworld of Rannoch with the Geth. As the two races are now at peace.

Once created by the Quarians as a mechanical labor force, the rather unintelligent Geth served for a long time before gradual upgrades to their programming gave them significant intelligence. The Quarians fought back and lost, causing the Geth to abandon Galactic Civilization to work in peace. The Geth hold no animosity towards other races, but for a long time, did not have true Sentience. This Changed when the most intelligent Geth, Legion, acquired a way to give true Sentience to all Geth, but at the cost of it's own life.

Quarians are good with Tech, but Geth are the masters. Hacking, coding, programming, it's all as easy for them as walking and breathing for the other races. Legion was the first Sentient Geth, and eventually, came to understand the concepts of emotions. Legion was the first non-hostile Geth that Commander Shepard encountered, and they assisted each other for the betterment of all species.

Together with the Quarians, the Geth have acquired a seat on the Citadel council.

Though not on the Citadel Council, the Krogan still consider themselves a member of the Citadel government. The Krogan are a violent and powerful race. Longer lived than Asari (no Krogan has been known to die of age) physically stronger than Turians, and extremely hard to kill. Krogan have great strength and combat skills in general, as well as numerous redundant organs as backup.

For a long time, the Krogan suffered under the "Genophage." A genetic disease crafted by the Salarians that caused 99.9% of Krogan to be unable to breed. Despite their incredibly long life, Krogan also populate extremely quickly, so much that they were a threat to overrun the galaxy. So the Salarians made the Genophage to keep them in check.

The Genophage nearly killed the species, but, during the Reaper Conflict. Commander Shepard had a cure created to save the species. And under the leadership of Wrex, an extremely old Krogan and ally of Shepard. The Krogan managed to become a civil species and have somewhat integrated into Galactic society. Though Wrex feels that they are not mature enough as a race to have a Council Seat.

Appearance: (pictures from the series are permitted, as long as you explain what distinguishes them from the character in the series aesthetically)
Preferred weapons: (there are a few weapon classes you can choose from, I recommend no more than 2, your options are heavy pistol, submachine gun, shotgun, sniper rifle, and assault rifle, no you don't start with any weapons)
Talents: (going game system here, combat related stuff. Your options are Combat, Biotics, and Tech skills. again, no more than two, you may specialize in just one if you wish. Also, you need not necessarily use the exact abilities from the series, as long as it makes sense within the framework of the skillset feel free to make it up! yes even cross specialization powers (biotic/weapons, or tech/biotic, make 'em up! be creative!)

My Character

Name: Arikus "Leonidas" Zartia, Goes by Leo as an alias
Race: Turian
Age: 29
Biography: Grew up on the Citadel, and saw his fair share of horrors during the Reaper conflict. He enjoyed reading stories from the histories of all species when he was young, and took his codename "Leonidas" from human history. Since he wasn't legally an adult until after the Reaper invasion, he wasn't required to join the military conflict, but did anyway as a desire for personal experience. He proved himself an effective soldier but a poor leader, so his role jumped between one man infiltration team, to front lines fighter, to an effective bit of extra muscle on dangerous operations. The head of the Spectres saw talent in him, and put him through the processes for joining a mere 4 months ago. As a newly inducted Spectre, he is currently on Omega overseeing the newest recruitment drive.
Appearance:

Unlike Garrus, his visor is non custom, and his armor is at the Spectre standard. With a grey and green pattern.
Preferred weapons: Heavy Pistol and Assault Rifle
Talents: Tech and Combat.
Skills: Weapon modification and maintenance. Also some close combat training, but that is rarely a factor.

Nick Name: The Major
Race: Human
Age: 21 (Looks between 16 and 17)

Bio: Chris was always very inquisitive at a young age and was very diplomac. He always was on the move though he was born on the citadel. He never really knew his parents but he always traveled with Mercinaries to try to see the universe for what it is. He was very skilled with his biotic powers. He however lacked gun skills and the ability to hold a heavy weapon. So he used a Heavy Pistol with a scope on it. It was proved to be much more effective for him. Most times on his adventures he always had someone escourt him. He was to young to fly on his own afterall. He trained in being a strategist when he was young so in most cases he knows what he's doing. Durring his years he went around space with Jarvus, who was a Turian who had adopted him. Jarvus grew fond of Chris and often showed him what it was like in the military. Jarvus was also a Military instructor. Since Chris was 16 he was training under Jarvus. When he turned 18, Chris was officially in the military. Durring his service he recieved many promotions and was called " The Major". Recently he left the services of the Military.

He heard about a Specre recruiting, and maybe he could find a place in life. Thus him going to Omega. He wanted some adventure in his life.

Apperance: He has dark brown neck length hair. His eye color is the mix of emerald green with olive green. He stands at 5'11. Pale white skin. Lacks any kind of body hair other than his eyebrows and his hair on his head, giving him a young look. A feminine frame. Slender. Wears all blue.

His armor is black and blue, it also has a visor that allows him to see enemy shields. (And allies alike)

Preferred weapons: Heavy Pistol and Sub-machine guns.
Talents:Bio-heal. Bio-Heal allows him to help a downed comrade or heal and repair shields from a distance. He also uses Photon. Photon is a light based attack that can crush and enemy (Or their defences) or be used to push them away. He is skilled with martial arts and is fast about it, but lacks power to down them right away. His shields are weak to melee strikes but strong aginste biotic powers. He is fast and evasive.

Skills: He is a good cook. Convinceing and diplomic.

I'm not so sure. perhaps you could age him up and elaborate on his mercenary exploits a bit?
