"Father wait!" A petite voice cried out beneath the sea of people before her. Sophia moved as fast as she could, but being the timid, polite girl she was, she couldn't get far. The girl was being bumped around like a rag doll among the women and ship hardy men upon the docks. Worst of all, every time she bumped into someone she would stop and apologize to them as though it were her fault. After a good half hour of this, Sophia had lost sight of her father. She sighed deeply and began her search for him among the crowd. Flattening her her fine white gown, the girl walked onward, avoiding the thicker most parts of the dock.
For once, she regretted wearing her favorite dress. The color was easy to get dirty, the corset was tight and it hung off her shoulders, which many sailors seemed to enjoy. Sophia ran a hand over her long, dark auburn hair. Even in a braid it hung over her shoulder and down to her stomach. Her father never wanted her cutting it, though she didn't much want to cut it. As she paid attention to her hair, she didn't notice the blonde woman she was heading straight toward. Within moments she bumped right into her, making her flinch and stumble back. Sophia lost her footing on the deck and was soon falling back, ice blue eyes wide.
