17
Character Role(s):
Schizophrenia with severe Anxiety and Paranoia that also leads to Insomnia. Bracelet Color-Mental Disease
Personality:
Raven is a type of person where she tries to be nice but it's very hard for her because she doesn't know if certain people in her life are real. And it doesn't matter if she knows them to be real or not she has a hard time trusting them always thinking they have an alterative motive for wanting to speak with her. So she may come off as a little rude or overly accusing. She also doesn't know how to handle her emotions. If she is Angry or Sad she leans towards self mutilation, not because she wants to die but because it distracts her from those bad feelings. She's ok with her happy feelings, as a matter of fact they calm her to a certain degree, and that is the best time to communicate with. And then there are those few days to where she is just blank and has no emotion what so ever and she just sits there and picks a place to stare. And then there are those other days where she isn't angry, but everybody and their problems just seem to irritate her and she has something to say about everything. Also if she is in an uncomfortable situation that is tense or what not she tends to break down and that's when her paranoia and anxiety kick in. She gets shaky and curls up into a ball and try to think of something else because she doesn't know how to handle the situation. She's also very dependant. And deathly afraid of the dark.
History:
Raven was a Mama's girl, being an only child and her mom being a single mother, they were obviously very close. Life to Raven was perfect, her mother and her were best friends they did everything together. When Raven was 5 and started going to school her mom and her both cried because they knew they wouldn't be able to spend as much time together. She also slept in the same bed as her mom until she started going to school she could even sleep in the dark by herself when she got used to it. As she started going to school more and her mom was alone at the house for most of the day her mom started going out on dates and met this guy named Brent. Brent seemed very cool at first, even to Raven who was very possessive of her mom, liked him a lot. Then Brent moved in and everything changed. Raven saw things happen to her mom that she didn't like, her face which was once beautiful turned a nasty, busted, red, black, and blue. Most of the time when she saw her mom being beaten she ran to her bedroom and hid in her closet.
One day though while her mom was at work, and even though through Raven's numerous begs for her not to be left alone with him, had to be babysat by Brent. She hid in her closet for most of the day not wanting to be near the man she so feared, but he found her and gave her the exact same treatment he gave her mother, except raven's little body couldn't handle it and was almost beaten to death. After Raven got out of a two month hospital stay, her mother finally left Brent. But Raven was never the same after that.
At night she had to have her bedroom light on, her bed had to be sat on the floor so she could see everything around her and so nothing could hide under her bed, she had to check her closet and close all of her doors and lock her windows and play the t.v. at night just so she could sleep. It didn't stop there though, Raven became over suspicious with everyone she didn't know who she could trust, and when she got upset she started hurting herself. She has grotesque scars all over her body from it. Then she started locking herself in her room separating herself from everyone except Daisy a friend she had created in her mind. Raven started seeing things too especially in the dark.
Her mom tried to help her at first, to try and get that baby girl she once had. But then history repeated itself and her mother found this preacher guy and married him. After he moved in he tried to exercise her numerous times and when that didn't fix her he brain washed her mother into believing that Raven was sick twisted sinful and never coming back to who she used to be. After one bad cut from the top of her left breast to her right hip bone and another hospital stay later her mom gave up and was convinced by her over religious husband to drop her off at Rosenberg.
That was when Raven was 14. She hasn't seen her mother since. She hates The Preacher Man and now even more her mother. Funny how time and action changes things.
