Trying to get old programs to new computer

What do? How will I get the programs to work on the new computer after they've been copied from the old one?
I don't know what to put here right now.

Hmm. Do you have Windows 7? And what operating system were these programs originally made for?

Uh, not such a good idea. Anything on there could have malware on it.

Windows 8. However, it seems pirate bay has worked well so far. No malware, or at least none that are obvious so far.

Only idiots claim anything on the Pirate Bay could have malware or viruses in it. That's why you read the comments, filter by seeders... you know, common sense. It's a community that checks itself before it wrecks itself.

And you can't copy installed programs to another hard drive. You need the installer for everything and reinstall the whole bunch. It's not just a bundle of files on your HDD. You need Windows to actually recognize it as software, which is what the whole installation process is for (and registries and other shit I won't pretend to understand).

I had to bring mine back, I could not deal with it's drama fits and neediness. It just wasn't going to work out, I decided my old computer and I would stay together. We make a better couple.
