Plus, I'm getting used to actually getting to cuss. The place we came from would edit swear words into *****. So, yeah, I'm like a little kid discovering dirty words. Bitch. Haha, it went through!

    The Singular Universe
    Character Application

    Character you wish to portray:
    Kal-El/Clark Kent/Superman

Hero, villain, or walking the line?:
    Hero

Powers and physical attributes:Superman has all the powers you're used to, but not as crazy overpowered as you're used to seeing him. While he is still capable of the insanely amazing feats you've seen in the past, this output of power taxes him greatly, and could even kill him. Normally, Superman will be able to fight those such as Thor, but the match would be close, or even a draw. He can still fly, see through objects, has super speed and strength, and heat vision/super breath. His invulnerability is still there, but he can definitely take damage, and his weakness to magic is still intact.

Origin and backstory (as you see it): The Kryptonians were once the greatest, and most feared race in the entire cosmos. When they first set out across the vast reaches of space in a voyage of discovery, they found that light from a yellow sun would give their cells, which absorb solar radiation, more power than they could ever have imagined. Using this knowledge, the Kryptonian military began fabricating suits that could harness, store, and replicate the radiation of a yellow sun, and began outfitting their infantry with them, creating a nigh-unstoppable army of domination.

Flowing form their home system, the Kyptonians began a journey of conquest, conquering and subjugating every species they came across. They easily won every battle they started, that is until the Corps finally decided to intervene. Using their powers and the emotional spectrum, the Lantern Corps managed to fight back the flow of the Kryptonian flood.

    But not for long.

The Sons of Krypton, the planet's most fierce warriors were dispatched onto the field of battle, wiping out many of the Corps.

Sensing the Kryptonians could end up as a Universe-wide empire, the Corps gathered old allies and enemies alike in an alliance to defeat the Empire. In the end, they launched a mass assault on Krypton, causing the Empire to call back all its troops back to the homeworld to defend it from the invaders. But this was all part of the opposing army's plan. Once the Kryptonians returned, they detonated a super weapon, wiping out all life in the system and destroying Krypton and the Kryptonian race with it.

    Or so it was believed.

One child survived, fired off the planet in a suspended animation rocket before the weapon went off. The craft was small enough to escape the invading army's notice, and began its long journey. Years passed, and the craft found its way to a backwater planet known as Earth in what we would call the 1980's. There, it was found by Jonathan and Martha Kent, a childless farming couple from Smallville, Kansas.

The two raised Clark, as they called him, as their own, and attempted to hide his true lineage from all, which became difficult when Clark's powers began to manifest themselves. But the boy eventually grew into a young man, and eventually he left home and left for Metropolis University to study journalism, a passion he found in high school.

After graduating with flying colors, Kent moved to Metropolis full time, falling in love with the City of Tomorrow. He also got a job with the city's most prominent multimedia news organization, the Daily Planet. It was here that he met, and became infatuated with, Lois Lane, as well as his new best friend, photographer Jimmy Olson.

But there was another, secret reason for his move. He yearned to use his amazing powers to help those in need. Instilled with a great sense of responsibility by his adoptive father, Clark fashioned a costume from the blanket and garments in his space craft, and now patrols the skies as Superman. There are very few eye witness accounts of the Man of Steel, but everyone always notices one thing; the large S on his chest.

Superman will be about a year and a half into his career at this point, but he will also be largely a rumor for those that don't know better.

Why have you chosen this character?: I've always enjoyed Superman, but I've never loved him. I think this is an interesting take on the character, and the background of Krypton.

What do you believe you can bring to the RPG?:It's freaking Superman!

Provide a sample post as the character you wish to portray, three paragraphs or more and with at least one line of dialogue:

It's a quiet night above Metropolis, and Clark Kent smiles to himself as he floats 30,000 ft above it. Since he started his crusade against crime, the City of Tomorrow has become and infinitely safer place, much to the chagrin of the commissioner of police. You'd figure having less crime would make him happy as a pig in mud, but not so. Something about not being happy "someone else" is doing his job. Clark assumes he has confidence problems. It's the only excuse.

And to think, Kent was just in his office this morning asking him about the so called Superman. Usually, Lois would have been on a beat like that, but Perry White, the editor and producer in chief of the Daily Planet Network, told Lane she needed to take a break from the Superman story.

She wasn't happy about that. But then again, Lois is rarely happy with anything Perry has to say. Jimmy says the two have had weekly screaming matches since she started.

A sound in the distance draws Clark's attention, and rouses him from his inner thoughts. Focusing on the horizon, Superman sees a plane is on its way towards him. Gently gliding away, he gets out of visible range and watches as the airliner heads in towards Metropolis International. But suddenly, one of the engines explodes in a brilliant and hot ball of fire, sending the plane into a spiral towards the ground. Superman hears the wail of the remaining engine as well as the desperate screams of the scared passengers inside, and speeds towards the dive-bombing jetliner, saying to himself, "This looks like a job for Superman."

If there was no Bloodshed in this broken world there would be no need for revolution; for Vendetta.

    The Singular Universe
    Character Application

    Character you wish to portray:
    The Goddamn Batcow!

Hero, villain, or walking the line?:
    Hero

    Powers and physical attributes:
None. He gets by on the strength of his experience and his inherited wealth.

Origin and backstory (as you see it):
I intend to delve into that from the first post. I’d rather not show all of my cards if I could help it. I will say it’s not set in the same country as the vast majority of the universe. I’ll be off in my own little corner, likely not affecting any of the grander scheme of things, in a small dairy farm near Gisborne, New Zealand.

Why have you chosen this character?:
Because someone has to bring the LOLs and the world needs Batcow!

What do you believe you can bring to the RPG?:
What, are you dense? Are you retarded or something? What the hell do you think I bring? The Goddamn Batcow!

Anything else we might want to know?
Yeah, I'm going to go with a twin-narrative. We'll have regular text portraying a more objective 3rd person look at proceedings, whilst Bold text will provide a first person leaning towards how Batcow perceives events. We'll see how this goes. At this point I only have an origin and a first arc planned out, so we'll see how we go. It shouldn't have any major impact on anything if I drop the character, I might also want to pick it up again if I can come up with anything else.

Provide a sample post as the character you wish to portray, three paragraphs or more and with at least one line of dialogue:

It's two hours pre-dawn. Most cattle have settled in small groups, both for protection and warmth. The nearby town of Gisborne is neither lively, nor close enough to be a disturbance with either light or sound. Casting a dark silhouette from before a bright full yellow moon, a cow stands alone on a hill. An old long-dead steer's skull at his feed, he stands atop it. He watches.

Gisborne at night. My people. It seems a sleepy town to the uninitiated, but I have long since come to know it to be the four-sectioned belly of hell. I have grown in the darkness. From here, atop this gargoyle I watch over them alone. There is no inch of this pasture that is not under my own survey.

A small fox breaches the fence in a dark corner, ears twitch on the cow on the hill and he raises his head and lows deeply. Standing higher on his haunches and aligning his head perfectly to obscure the moon from the onlooking cattle and the fox. Other cow's moo in disturbed tones at the breach of silence and look upon the hill. The fox, sensing something askew with the situation, leaves the way he came.

The Batcow's symbol cut's deeply at the carnivore's hearts. Carnivores are a superstitious and cowardly lot, the symbol preys on that fear. I... prey on that fear.
