    Mass Effect: Nations OOC

"We can rebuild everything that was destroyed. Our homes, our worlds, our fleets, and defenses; all of this and more. Together we can build a future greater than any one of us could imagine. A future paid for by the sacrifices of those that fought and died alongside us. A future that many will never see..."

    - Admiral Steven Hackett

    Welcome to Mass Effect: Nations.

Despite the sub-title of the game this is not, in fact, a Nations game. This style of game might be considered similar, but instead of applying for a single faction you apply for a single character in or out of whatever faction you desire. Like a Nations game everything from politics to economy to warfare can and typically will factor into the ebbs and flows of the setting, while leaving the individual characters to ultimately drive the direction the galaxy takes in rebuilding after the Reaper Invasion.

This game is, of course, based on the Mass Effect universe created and brought to us by BioWare. May all praise and glory go to the teams at BioWare, for without them we wouldn't be playing this game or have had the chance to play that amazing trilogy.

The game is set a year after the end of Mass Effect 3. The Mass relays are just now beginning to be brought back online and repaired after the showdown with the Reapers. The mass relay communication buoys have had partial operational capacity for much of the last year, so while FTL travel has been impossible as of yet, FTL communication has been possible--even if not as reliable as it had been before the Reaper Invasion.

The galaxy was left smouldering and in rubble, but soon after the Reapers were destroyed by what has only yet been described as 'the actions of Commander Shepard' the galaxy began to dust themselves off and rebuild. It seems nothing has remained quite the same as it was before the rise of Commander Shepard and the crew of the Normany, before the return of the ancient Reapers.

Most of the war time leaders have been lost to either the war or to retirement, or they simply no longer have the desire to remain in public service. There are new faces and new voices springing up all over the universe to take up fallen mantles, and slowly but surely the races of the galaxy are coming together once again in order to see what this new future might hold. To see if the galaxy can remember the lesson of how just what the galactic community can accomplish when united.

Play as a Citadel Council member or a new recruit to the Blue Suns; from a jaded CSEC investigator to a Quarian on pilgrammage.

This is an Advanced Game, and will require a level of creativity and interaction on each player's part to get the most out of it. While standards will be upheld, I'm not looking for a page of words in each post. Let's be honest; most posts don't require full pages. Most only require two to three paragraphs. Quality is our focus, not quantity.

I'll work on my PC. Should be up tomorrow.

My idea was a simple and small PMC.

    Ooh, words.

I think someone else may also be exploring that idea, so that could be fun.

I'm creating a director of a powerful corporation engaged mostly with electronics, starship construction, heavy weapons and mechs. Because mechs are fun.
CommunistZed GrievousKhan, hit me up if you want a supplier

Oh yeah, I see. Anyway, to all in need of some mechs, targetting software or perhaps just a good gaming computer, I'm ready for business.
