Blood on the Shore - A Walking Dead RP IC

    Blood on the Shore,

    GMs- Chairman Stein and Snippy
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Roleplay starts in Coos Bay North Bend, Oregon, located right on the Pacific Coast. We will all have to come together, and you as players must begin the roleplay, and develop it.
Most of the roleplay is developed by player action, and does not exactly have a drive established by the GMs.
As for the concept of a backstory, the most is practically that the walkers migrated across America and into the West Coast. Your character starts out a typical day until the walkers become evident, therefore starting your escapades. All characters will be in the same general area, and band together as survivors. This does not mean you must trust the group, then again, this also does not mean they trust you. Characters start with blunt weapons if any, no firearms or projectile weapons in the very beginning. It is of the highest importance (If you lack much knowledge of The Walking Dead) that you know this one bit of information. When you die, bitten or not, you turn into a walker.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A cool breeze blew through the air, a fresh scent, thus starting one more day in your life. Nothing feels out of the ordinary, but unknown to you, death looms around every corner, and It will become evident today. The Dead will Walk, and you will try to survive. Ultimately, will you survive?

    "Why not!?"

Zane frost pushed down the kickstand on his Harley. The bike was nothing too special. Honestly, it was just a piece of shit with a nice paint job. But his friend sold it to him for 500 bucks, and it would get him down to California. It had been a five hour trip down to bend from his Washington home, but he made it. It was around three O'clock in the afternoon, he would call and check in with his parents, but his phone had been out of minutes for a few days now.

He Walked across the street to a small resturaunt he had found called the Oasis. The door swung open with ease, but the Diner itself was empty. He rang the service bell and waited around for a minute before walking out. He needed some lunch, he hadnt eaten since around 7 in the morning.

He walked back to his bike and began trying to start it. However the bike that he put his trust into, gave a putter putter and died. As if He had a choice, he decided to walk it from there. He strolled for about fifteen minutes up and down the street. The eerie silence didnt strike him as odd since he kept his mind occupied with thoughts of how he was trapped in Oregon with no ride, no phone, and barley any cash to him name. The sound gunshots in the far distance caught his attention, but after living in Seattle for so long it didnt phase him. He simply thought nothing of it.

After around twenty minutes of walking through small buisnesses and a few industrial compounds, Alter found himself quite lost. He had never been to bend before, and he found it difficult to navigate through.

Finally after 45 minutes he came across a book store. It also advertised coffee. And though Zane was never really a coffee drinker, after 5 hours of riding that on shitty Honda, and another hour of walking, a nice warm drink sounded great to him.

He walked through the doors of the book store and smiled at the cute clerk/waitress girl. He took off his leather jacket and threw it over the back of his chair, He then sat down and picked up A copy of "The Eye of the world" by Robert Jordan.

Lilith was working in her family’s small book shop on Central Avenue. The shop was small fifteen to twenty people could fit inside. A coffee bar with four small tables, that only sits two, was in the left corner. Most of the customers were regulars who knew the Rivers family well, yet sometimes a few new people would wonder in to skim. Lilith had been working for only an hour and she had already tripped over a box of books and dropped two cake saucers. Her brother did not usually let her work in the coffee part as she was so clumsy but he had other things to do. So she would have to take care of the shop all by herself it was not so bad as it seemed not many people was coming into the store today.

Lilith went to the back looking over the sheet of paper that was in her hand, the paper had all the books she was to restock, and while looking down the list she read them off in a low whisper. “Two Cell, One The Da Vinci Code, Two Twilight: Breaking Dawn.” She paused for a moment after saying the Twilight book name. My god we are still selling this crap she thought before reading the last book on the list. “Ten Hobbit books by J. R. R. Tolkien.” Lilith thought the reason she had to stock up on the Hobbit was because the movie just had come out boosting the book sells. She personally never read the book but she had thought about it once or twice.

She set the books upon a small trolley pushing them slowly so she would not trip again. It only took her a few minutes to put the books away and push the trolley back in the back room. Now Lilith had nothing to do as no one had come into the store in the last thirty minutes. She was watching the door hoping someone would pop in just so she could have someone, anyone, to talk to. After another ten minutes it seemed all hope was lost so she picked up the first book around her ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ by Harper Lee. Lilith started to read a few lines.’When he was nearly thirteen, my brother Jem got his arm badly broken at the elbow. When it healed, and Jem's fears of never being able to play football were assuaged, he was seldom self-conscious about his injury. ‘

Lilith was interrupted by her cell phone ringing she jumped slightly before answering it. “Yes, this is Lilith.” There was no answer only static she tried again. “Hello, this is Lilith can you hear me?” Still nothing but a static noise coming from the other end hanging up the phone she looked at the call log. It was her older brother Seth’s number she wondered what happened. She looked back out the door after putting the book down. It still looked as if no one was around she called her brother back but he did not answer. Lilith hoped he would get here soon.

Lillian Stewart sighed as she leaned back in the fold out chair, her eyes locked on the text in front of her from the book cradled in her hands. She was quite enjoying this book; it was titled The Shack by William P. Young. She had gotten it from that book store just a street over a few days ago and planned on returning there soon. Their coffee was good and they had a nice book selection. She wouldn't mind finding something else to pass the time with. She jumped slightly at the sound of a wrench clanking to the cement floor and an annoyed grunt. Her gaze flickered up from the enjoyable book to the annoyed gaze of her fellow friend and mechanic, Randy. He shook his head at her, standing up and dusting off his pants. There was no point of it. The grease and dirt were practically caked in to the fibers of the jeans. She didn't understand the reason for his annoyed expression, especially since it was aimed at her. "What up, Rad?" she said, using the nickname she had gave him. When she first met the mechanic when she was younger, she hadn't heard his name properly and thought he said, "Rady" instead of "Randy" and thus, the nickname Rad was born. It didn't seem to bother the older man at all, mainly because he was an old friend of her father's and she had known him for a good amount of her life.

"Tell me why you came here." he demanded, walking over and taking the book from her hands. "Hey-" she began to protest but stopped at his stern look. She sealed her lips, crossing her arms and giving him a very childish look. She had always saw Randy as another father figure and always acted like a big child with him. "Because I wanted to learn." she finally mumbled out and sighed after it. "You can't learn by looking at this," he waved the book in front of her face, "Can you?" she snatched the book and quickly saved her page before he lost it. "No, I can't." she huffed, setting the book on the dirty floor under her seat. "You tell me that "stupid fruity" teacher doesn't teach you anything, which I suspect he does and you just don't listen with those big ears of yours, and you come here to learn but then you ignore me." he stated, crossing his arms over his chest and giving her a look. "Why are you really here?" he questioned the young girl.

Lillian groaned, slumping back against her seat. "I don't feel like going home." she said, standing up and moving over to the car he was working on. Randy followed her, leaning against it and watching her. "Why?" he asked, looking down at the wrench he had dropped. "Mom and Dad won't get off my back about my grades. I mean, that sounds like it's nothing but they're pushing it. Telling me to study and giving me lectures on how good studying is and how it'll help me and oh, oh. I can't stay up late or go partying like I use too, that'll just make me fail and I'll be a drop out like Mom and Dad were. It's not my fault they didn't go through with their college." she rambled, brushing a dark curl behind her ear. Randy listened to her, pursing his lips. "Well... I see why you're trying to get away. They're parents. They're going to worry and fuss over you. They only care. But, hey, Uncle Randy's house, always opened, you know?" he said. Lillian looked at him and smiled, giving him a quick hug. "Thanks, Rad. Hey, you want a coffee or something? I was thinking of going back to that book store to get a coffee and maybe a new book." she said.

"You haven't even finished that one." Randy said, smirking. Lillian giggled. "I'll finish it soon. Coffee or no?" she asked again, pushing herself away from the car. "Yeah, sure. But take your time." he said, bending down to pick up the wrench. She nodded, heading towards the door. "All right, I'll be back soon then!" she said, slipping outside after Randy's goodbye. She walked down the street, looking around. There were a few people walking around and she made sure to not bump into them as she passed them, watching them from the corner of her eye. She crossed the street quickly and turned the corner, spotting the book store ahead. She could really go for a coffee and a new book. She wondered what kind of book she should get, the book store had many different kinds. She would decide once she got in there.

Haru put down her pencil on top of her biology textbook and yawned. She's been cooped up in her room for a few days, studying for her finals and the only time she would leave her room is to go to the washroom which was right across her room. She stood up and opened the window of her room, breathing in the fresh air. She raised an eyebrow as she saw her parents car drive out of the garage. 'Left without saying goodbye again,' she thought, letting out a frustrated sigh. She walked over to her black bag, which rested on top of her bed and pulled out the contents. Realizing that she forgot the book she had to analyze for English, she put her stuff back in her bag and slung it around her shoulder. She walked out of her room, making sure to close the door behind her and made her way downstairs. Downstairs, she was greeted by one of the maids that worked around the house.

The maid turned off the vacuum and smiled as she saw Haru come down the stairs,"Good afternoon ma'm, are you done with your studies?"

Haru shook her head in response,"I forgot my book at school, so I'm going to go borrow another copy."

"Would you like me to fetch the driver?"

"No thanks. I'm planning to take a walk after, so I'll be gone for a bit."

    "Very well."

Haru put on her shoes and left the house, sighing in relief that she was finally out of there. As much as she loved to stay in the house, she hasn't been outside in a while due to her studies. She spent most of her time in her room as her parents never let her go outside when they were around. They thought that stupidity was contagious and they wouldn't have it if their kid turned out to be an idiot. It was always straight home after school and they would constantly get the maid to check on her to make sure she was studying. Last time she tried to sneak out of the house, she got caught and her parents would ask the maid to keep a log book of what she did everyday and she was kept under lock and key for a whole month. Thankfully, the maids lied once in a while and let her go outside while her parents were out of town. Unfortunately, without much exposure to the world outside her house, she constantly gets lost.

Haru somehow made it in front of a small book shop. She went inside and grabbed the book she needed. She sat down and took out her papers from her back and started working on her analysis. Her table was filled with textbooks and papers in no time. The books were stacked so high that you can barely see that someone was behind it.

Ara shambled down the streets of her town aimlessly, traversing one street to another in searching of entertaining solitude. She had hated the orphanage, it was so repulsive, annoying and loud children, tons of them not to mention. Ara barreled down Central Avenue, gazing into one building to another as she aimlessly passed them, thus stopping in front of a bookstore. Empty for the most, but there was likely staff present. She slipped in between the doors, quickly pacing over behind a bookshelf, acting interested. Ara pondered to herself as to what in the world would she do here, there wasn't anything that really appealed to her here, it felt all the more pointless. She stood staring at the books, trying to find something to read, just anything a scratch interesting, yet to no such gratification. She gave up on the concept of actually searching for a book, and began to grab book after book off the shelf at a unusual rate, the whole scene just appeared to be some weird thing. Ara had books staked up to her face, twenty to thirty books piled into her arms, as she made her way over to a table and unloaded most of the books except one.

Ara began to flip rabidly through one book, then another, and another, and began to work away the pile of books relentlessly, stacking to books to the left of herself. She found a few texts that looked a tad bit interesting, but nothing enthralling.

"I woke today, like any other day..."

Amodeus woke to his iPhone blaring, jarring him from his deep sleep. He managed to shut off the phone somehow, eyes still closed, and lifted himself from his couch. Didn't even make it into my bed last night. These hours are killing me. It was the third day in a row he had to go to work at 3 AM, to bake and prepare food for his family's restaurant. Wiping the drowsiness from his eyes, he crawled into the shower, and let the cold water wash over his body. The sudden chill forced him to draw breath in, and kick started his senses. He could finally function as a normal human now. There is no reason anyone should be up right now. Had he known what the next few hours had in store for him, he probably would've stayed in bed.

He hopped in his car, windshield still covered in condensation from the morning dew, and began to play some music. He placed his phone on shuffle, and cranked the volume. He needed it to keep himself from falling asleep at the wheel. The one positive he found in working so early was watching the sun rise. He always had a thing for the sky, especially the stars on a clear night. The sky turned a light pink as the sun crested the mountains, the color akin to cotton candy. I'm sure this will be another beautiful day... e thought to himself, sarcastically. He stopped looking skyward and got back to work. After finishing all his preparations for the day, he began helping customers until his other employees showed up, and he got to escape the place, if only until tomorrow.

He always liked to visit a nearby bookstore after work. Their coffee wasn't bad, and it was somewhere he could relax for an hour or two and just let his mind wander. It was about the only stress relief he had anymore. He entered the store, and noticed a few people here he hadn't seen before. He was by no means a regular, and he typically sat alone in a corner, just sipping coffee. The miracle of caffeine kept him going, most days. He picked up his usual book, "The Road" by Cormack McCarthy. He had almost finished it, and had never bought the thing. Damn, I must come here more often than I thought. Guess I'll have to buy this out of principle.

He placed his headphones in, and started playing Sublime's Gold album. It always relaxed him after a long day, and he could sink into the book while the music calmed his nerves. After a few minutes, however, the sleep deprivation took hold and he started nodding off in his chair.
    Dust to dust.

Alex shook his head slightly as he walked down the street. Something was off. He was sure of it. Maybe he was just seeing things. But what had transpired in his house was not natural. He shuddered as he remembered the red paint smeared across his garage, declaring "ZEDS INSIDE". That was crazy. Alex was crazy. He had to be. This was the stuff you saw in a horror movie, or read in a book. Not real life. As he passed another house, he heard sounds of a scuffle. He stopped for a moment, and looked at it.

Alex knew he should help. He knew that there was something terrible going on in that house, and that he may be the only person who would be able to help. He knew all this, but he couldn't bring himself to move. It was the scream that set him in motion again. He started walking, then began to jog, then began to run. The streets were empty. He thought about returning to the school, but decided against it. He needed to be with people. Real people. He felt he was going insane.

After running for a while, he found his way on Central Avenue. He slowed, and began to look around. He needed a phone. Alex didn't have a cell phone. It wasn't because he couldn't afford it, or wasn't allowed. He just hated the idea of people being able to talk to him at any time. There was something calming about being able to go away from people and then have them not be able to continue yelling at you. Now he was silently cursing himself for it.

Alex stopped as he passed a bookstore. There were people inside. He looked at them for a moment. They were real. He was sure of that. So he wasn't crazy. Still, he wasn't sure as he walked in.

"I need a phone." Alex said, to no one in particular. He stood awkwardly in the doorway. He planned on calling 911 or maybe even home, but he wasn't one for words, and simply waited.

Lilith was surprised not even five minutes from trying to call her brother it seemed like a flood of people decided to make their way into the shop. They all seemed young but one girl stood out more than the rest she seemed to be picking up any and every book she could get her hands on. She watched the people for a while before getting back to work cleaning down the cabinets she was sort of glad no one asked for a cup of coffee as she not the best at making coffee. She wondered how much longer her brother was going to take he should have made it back by now. Lilith gave Seth one more call on his phone, yet again no answer but this time instead of ringing a couple of times it went straight to voice mail. “I guess it went dead.” She said in a whisper. All of a sudden a guy come into the book shop he looked a little off in color when asking for a phone. “Wonder what happen to him?” Lilith asked confused. She walked up to the guy. “Yeah the phone is right there.” She pointed to a black phone hanging on the wall next to the small tables.

Sophia was walking down the sidewalk with her ear buds in her ears listening to It's Been Awhile by Staind while carrying her guitar case that she had with her most of the time and quietly singing to herself, she had the rest of the afternoon off from school for some reason but she didn't really care she was happy she had the afternoon off. Sophia looked at some of the people she walked by and decided to go toward the bookstore and see what kind of books she could find to read and kill some time before going home. She always came to the bookstore when she had time or when she didn't have work after school, when Sophia came into the bookstore she noticed quiet a few people in there reading some books and looked over at Alex for a moment thinking something was wrong about him.
