(High Casual) Black Hawk Mercenaries (Medieval Fantasy)

So I had an idea for a RP that revolved around a group of mercenaries and their adventures. Could be character driven or an over all plot, doesn't matter to me.

Now I came up with an interesting concept that I'm sure has been done before. Now if we're all part of the mercenary group we'd be on the same side. If we continued this way we'd be fighting nothing but NPC's and that gets to be no fun. So I'm also looking for people to come in and play minor villain roles. This means you would only be in the thread for a little while. For example, I thought that the first mission the group could take on would be: A war is going on between two relatively small countries. The king of one these countries hires the group because he is low on troops. Somebody could then play a general of the opposing country or whatnot. They'd have a major role for that one mission, but eventually would probably be killed by a member of the group. See where I'm going with this? I know basic and boring idea, but I thought it up on the spot. When the thread gets there I promise it'll be more developed. I hope I can find people who love to play evil characters, and are up for only being in the RP for a little while. If you want you can play several characters. After one is defeated, we start a new mission, and you can come back with another one. Especially if you did a good job. I hope I can find plenty of participants.

Any ideas or is anyone interested?

See, I do love the high fantasy, and low for that matter. I'm interested, in both. I would like to be a mercenary. But also I have an old account from a few years ago I could use to play one of the BIG BADS.

That would actually be great. Got any other ideas? I was thinking about fleshing out the world a little bit. I'm not into any Tolkien type stuff, with elves and dwarves, would rather keep it in the human realm.

    Very interesting. Keep me updated.
Some people focus on what they're going through. Champions focus on what they're going to.

I think you're right in that it's a basic idea, but that's not the same as it being a bad one. I think it's all down to polish, detail and presentation. It'd be good if we could have some sort of Game of Thrones style web of relationships and intrigue, that'd help make it stand out a bit more than a "go place, kill dudes" game.

OiHarkin, This is a thread that I'm working on that has just that style if you check it out, OOC check the OOC out for a very detailed historical time line of four nations and their relationships to each other. I know its quite a long read, but it can be just skimmed through for now to get a basic idea and used to refer back to later.

I was thinking about maybe combining the two ideas if anyone's interested. I was thinking the Black Hawk Mercenaries could be disbanded and we are now scattered across the continent of Zeldwa on the planet of Azae. As world war breaks out between the four nations on Zeldwa, our group intentionally and coincidentally finds each othe again, and bands back up (or possibly not depending on current relations between characters) to discover the more sinister supernatural force at control.

What do you all think? Sound interesting? We could start to discuss character ideas and the characters relations to one and other since they would all already know each other. Not everyone has to be a member of the mercenary group, we could have nobles, or kings and queens, and soldiers in the armies of the four nations.
