    Sergei "Surge" Romanov

    "Damn it!"

Surge slammed his hand on the console in the Marine Command Center on Mars as he idly cursed time and time again. It had been only three hours since they received the distress call from Phobo's. The call had been severely muffled Surge heard two things, attack, and dieing. Naturally the thirty five year old Major assumed a disgruntled employee had taken wing again and was trying to shoot the place up with a stolen pistol. But as he soon figured out it was not, Surge had sent a small dispatch to Phobo's to clean up whatever mess those dumb ass scientist's got themselves in. But to his total surprise he lost contact with his three Marines the moment they entered Phobo's. With in the three hours that pursued distress calls kept coming in about some kind of attack but communications was for some reason etchy at best. Surge had to no choice but to call in his best units, Team Delta, Team Viper, and Team Eagle Eye. They all arrived over and hour ago but as soon as they entered the base communications went down as if one cue.

"God damn it Private I want the fucking communications back online now! Not after break time now!"

Surge was so angry the veins were sticking out of his head ready to explode as the Command Center was in total disarray. From Marines running all over the place from console to console and flurry of flying paper and loud talking and orders being given.

"Major Romanov I can not reconnect communication to Phobo's or Demios."

The private seemed rather tense as he gave Surge the news and for good reason, Surge was like hell reincarnated he had hear the rumors in the mess hall.

"An why the hell not Private Harrison! I need those communication an I need them now!"

"Sir with all due respect its impossible, someone has overridden the communications on Demios, they must have infiltrated the Servers. All my attempts to access communication are being blocked by a remote source in Demios."

If Surge was mad before now the vein in his head was literally bulging as he ripped off the head set and slammed it on the console breaking it in half.

"So let me get this straight, the Mars Command Center has been cut off from communication!?!?!? We should be able to hack back in this is the god damn main communications Center we have all the codes, how the hell are we locked out!"

"With all due respect Sir we may have the codes but the server towers are what run communications. An if someone were to shut down communications from the server point then they would control it."

"Private I know for a fact that server room was protected by my best men to avoid this situation. A fucking bus could have hit these men an they would have got back up. If someone truly got into that communications room they would have needed some heavy fire power, and to take over a Military secure base they would need a lot of men, especially to take own three of my top! three! Marines! Units! I didn't see any ship of any magnitude come into our grid I watch that day and night, its prepared to set of an alarm if a ship attempts to enter without our permission. Theres no fucking way a ship got past those sensors and infiltrated Demios, took out my men..."

Surge looked side ways as a Corporal came running up to him an saluted Surge did not return it as the corporal proceeded to speak.

    "Sir, Demios... is.. gone."

Surge looked at the Corporal with a rather confused looked as he tried to understand what his short of breath words were suppose to mean.

"Gone? What exactly is that suppose to mean Corporal?"

"The planet it just disappeared the whole planet is gone like it was never there."

Surge was livid as he heard this what kind of men worked for him, what kind of man just says a planet disappeared from space.

"Corporal... I got other things to worry bout besides your crazy notions... that... A GOD DAMN PLANET DISAPPEARED OUT OF SPACE!! IT MUST BE A DAMN MALFUNCTION GO FIX IT!!"

"Sir our computers are working fine! The planet is gone..."

Surge was red in face what the fuck was all this shit, it was like hell's gates opened and was swallowing everything up. Surge had no clue what the hell was going on and he did not like not knowing what was going on. His men were in god knows what condition, communications is gone, and now a damn planet up and vanished is this a shit hole nightmare, this was more extreme then the war back on earth between the US and Russia. Surge had no choice he knew what needed to be done, this situation was slowly escalating to worse and then no doubt it would go from worse to devastation and as commander of Mars Security he could not allow this to happen.

"Everyone shut up and listen stop what your doing!"

All the marines in the room turned and looked at Surge as they gave him their attention. Having it Surge wasted no time.

"We are in a code red situation, we are blind, we are voiceless, we are exposed, as of right now we begin base evacuation. I want every man, woman, and child in the civilian quarters here, taken to one of the last two transports and taken to earth."

"Sir you can't give an order like that".

In his head Surge was sighing as he turned to see his smart as Lieutenant standing near by, with Captain Daily gone he was SIC, and he was loving every minute.

"Only a Marine whos rank is Colonel or Higher can make a decision such as that, the Marine code book clearly..."

"Shut the fuck up Withers enough of your quoting army regulations. Do you not think that I am well aware of the army regulations! You know its funny it really is, you can quote regulation if it doesn't adhere to you. I have let you roam this base, and act like a brainy dick for to long even to superiors. Let me inform you of something Lieutenant, the only reason your here is because after basic training they thought it best to give you a position that didn't require you to cover anyone's ass in the field. They even made you a lieutenant to shut you up and make you feel special. You can quote regulations all day jack ass, but this is a military situation, I am the Commanding Officer on this base not you, an you will do what the fuck I say when I say to do it. If you got a problem with that I will put my boot so far up your nuts that all your children will have boots marks on the inside of their asses!!!!"

Everyone was silent including the lieutenant, it didn't even appear as anyone wanted to breath except for a couple snickers from around the room. Surge turned and looked at the Corporal and spoke.

"Corporal your in charge of the evacuation, get every soldier left on the base and get those civilians to earth safely, inform command of whats going on. As of this moment you are now acting Lieutenant Withers was just demoted. Get to it soldier."

The newly acting Lieutenant gave a salute as he got up but before he left he looked at Surge an asked a question.

"What are you going to do Sir?"

"Myself and Gunnery Sergeant Miller are going to Phobo's to figure out what the hell is going on. One of you inform the Sergeant to get her gear and her ass to meet me in the hangar we leave in ten minutes."

There was no more talk, no more mouthing off, the Marines were in full evacuation mode now. Surge turned at looked out the durasteel glass window as Phobo's in the distance. Soon enough he would be there.

    GnrySrg Miller
News traveled fast through the Martian base. It traveled especially faster when the major was in an ill temper. And, honestly, when was he ever in a good humor? One of the marines hurried to the female barracks section of the base. He skid to a halt just outside of Stephanie's room. He banged on the door hard and loud and, without waiting, thrust it open.

"Sergeant Miller," the man said in a rush. "The major-"

She spun around on her heels, her eyes narrow. "Private, this is the women's barracks. I don't give a rat's ass how pissed off the major is, you do not barge into this room without my permission. You're damned lucky I was fully dressed, or you'd be collecting your teeth from a goddamn jar!"

The man froze, uncertain how to proceed. He stammered and took a step back. "Uh, y-yes, sir - MA'AM, uh.. the major..."

"Just tell me where he is, then get out."

    "H-hangar."

She hesitated. "The hangar? What the hell is going on, private? Where are we going, and who the hell set off the red alert?"

The man squeaked. "Major Romanov. Uh, y-you're going t-t-to Phobos," he said. "Uh, D-Deimos j-just-"

She held up a hand, closing her eyes. "This conversation is painful," she said. "Just, go, do whatever the hell you're supposed to, I'll find out the details from the major himself."

The marine nodded, saluted, then scurried away like a wounded rabbit. She shook her head after him, her black hair shifting slightly around her shoulders. She tied it back into a high bun as she grabbed her equipment and headed down toward the hangar. Already dressed in her uniform - nicely fitted with body armor, a protective helmet, and a headset flashlight - she didn't need to grab much. Down at the hangar, she met Major Romanov, who looked particularly ticked off.

She clicked her heels to attention and saluted him. "Reporting for duty, sir!" she said loudly enough to get his attention.

    Captain Frank "Frosty" Daily

Captain Daily was sent on Phobos together with 3 marines, after a distress call from the Mars moon was recieved three hours ago. When the Captain and his 3 men arrived at the hangar, there was an unusual silence that was dominating the area. What they found later was the stuff of horror movies. Zombies. Real life zombies. Someone or something corrupted all the guards and people that were here. Their skin was extremely pale and they were making all kinds of strange sounds. aThe guards started shooting at them. The Captain and his men didn't get too far into the hangar, as 2 of the 3 marines died pretty fast. After that Frank decided that he and the surviving marine should get back in the transport ship. And so they did. And they have been there for 10 minutes now as the Captain was desperately trying to inform Command Center of their status. And like that wasn't bad enough, Frank's fiancee, Sarah was working as an asisstant in the Phobos Labs. Frank was deeply worried about her. But she is a smart woman and Frank was praying that she would find ways to survive whatever the hell is going on here. At least until he gets to the Labs.

"Command Center this is dispatch team, over! Command Center this is dispatch team over! Command Center can you read me? Fuck, why isn't this piece of crap working???" Said the Captain as he slammed the reciever back on the radio.

"I don't know sir!" Responded the marine.

"It was a retorical question private. You weren't supposed to answer it." Said Frank with his hands on his hips and staring at the communications equipment.

"Sir, if I may...what's going on here? What's with those zombies? And what are we gonna do next?" Asked the marine.

Frank turned his view over to him. "I don't know marine but we better think of something fast because we can't stay here forever."

    Major Romanov "Surge"

Surge prepared the outer hull of the ship silently, these ships were shit, in his opinion, he was surprised they could handle the burn from the atmosphere. His vehicle Sergeant like he would have expected, did nothing to keep these ships in order. Why would he though? Surge had only all but threatened him to do his one and only fucking job, but he was nothing more then a boozer who slept all day. Why did Surge expect anything less from a boot camp failure. Surge had long grown tired of these Marines, funny how some wondered why the hell he was so mean, well it should be obvious he was suppose to be running and organized command, but what he got was soldier screaming and yelling like babies when their dinner is not to their satisfaction. There were only a couple competent soldiers on the whole planet, and one his Captain was at Phobo's an is unable to raise him and then there was...

    "Reporting for duty, sir!"

Surge was interrupted from his thoughts as he turned to face his Gunnery Sergeant Mills. Always one to be prompt he wondered what the hell took her so long, he said ten minutes not twenty. Probably that stupid Marine he sent to fetch her. Surge did not bother to return the salute before turning back and slamming the electrical box of the ship closed as there was a small whirring noise from the spot and a green light flashed on.

"We have no time for formalities Sergeant Mills we need to move now. I will brief you on the ship move your ass."

Surge turned and climbed up the ramp into the ship and closed the door as Mills joined him. Surge went to the front of the ship as he pulled down the dashboard keyboard and typed into the on board screen. Typing in his security clearance the screen flashed to navigation, Surges fingers were moving fast as the jets on the back of the ship fired up. Reaching up he pushed the close outer doors switch as the protective doors closed around the pad, then with another switch he opened the outer hull doors. Reaching up he pulled down a red handle as there was a hiss an then he pressed ignite as the boosters blasted them out of the hangar. Typing in the destination of Phobo's he put it on auto pilot as he turned to look at Sergeant Mills.

"Phobo's and Demios have fallen under attack, Phobo's is unknown condition and Demios has been cut off from communication entirely, the nearest thing that can be figured is someone some how took control of communications and is blocking our attempt to re-establish. Four separate teams have been sent in but we are unable to reach any of them, if it be communications or if they are dead. We are going in hot, the moment we exit the ship I want you on full alert. We have not been able to get accurate read out's of any section of the base remotely. We will have to access it by console, our main objection is reach the Command Center and access the main terminal on Phobo's. We need to try and re-establish communications if at all possible. We need to know how much of the teams are still active and regroup."

There was an electronic beeping, Surge turned as Phobo's was in site, regaining the Helm Surge turned off auto pilot an engaged manually. Typing into the keyboard Surge prepared the hull for exterior burn. There was suddenly a blaring alarm as the targeting screen came online. Surge quickly turned as he viewed it, the defense grid was activating around Phobo's.

    "Fuck! Sergeant Strap in now!"

Surge strapped into the seat as he typed furiously into the console to disable security measures but he was cut off from access.

"Al right fuckers I ain't no green thumb take me down if you can.."

Surge turned on the power shields as he descended down into the atmosphere of Phobo's as soon as the heat shields went off Surge could see the automated turrets they started to fire. Surge barrel rolled immediately as h knew where everyone of those turrets were. The fire passe them by as Surge pulled back on the throttle of the ship and gained speed, the landing pad was only kilometers away from him.

"Hold on! Were going... What the fuck is that!"

Surge saw something standing atop one of the buildings, it was ugly and grotesque it looked like a fucking ram with body and legs. The next thing Surge knew a black of green light flashed from the beast, he tryed to avoid it but it smacked the glass of the ship as it shattered like iced window. Surge felt the glass hit his face as it was super heated and burned. Surge pulled away as he went for the pad another ball of green flew an smashed into the side of the transport busting it away like crumbling clay. Air was whooshing in as Surge dog rolled one last time. The ship beeped continuously as the red lights popped on one by one signifying engine failure.

    "Shit!"

Surge pulled up hard to level the ship the landing pad was below him.

"Hold on were going in hard!"

Surge released the air pressure as the ship went into a downward spiral at a 90 degree's angle. At the very last second Surge pulled up as hard as he could as the ship skimmed the top of the hangar entrance and flew through. Punching the glass on the emergency break Surge pushed the release as the ship hit the metal of the pad and cast up sparks and made the ship rock violently. Looking forward Surge spotted another ship with no way to stop it Surge's transport ship hit the other and Surge was rocked violently forward but held in by the straps as the world came to a hult. Surge unstrapped himself as he let out a groan, falling forward he hit the metal of the ship and smashed into it as his head was spinning.

    "Sergeant are you ok?"

Surge tryed to look up but his sight dimmed and he knew no more.

((So you know Captain Field that was your ship we just took out. So you basically just witnessed us come in!))

    Sergeant Major, Andre Sokolov

[Hope it's not 'too aggressive' so to speak, the post i mean =3 but when the Idea hit me I just had to use it XD]

Andre was at a strange middle ground in terms of reactions to this catastrophe taking place, not many people would even stay sane when people begin dieing, getting back up, and then trying to bite or shoot you. The good Sergeant Major on the other hand was both heavily disturbed by the current event, but also in a special bit of heaven as he gets to spray bullets into all manner of undead things that he could very openly slaughter without suddenly being considered 'the bad guy' himself. It was definatly a terrible event, he had no denial of that, but a big smile was hidden behind his helmet as he was the first of his own little team to start shooting when the zombies started roaming, more or less the reason that his team survived as long as they did, which for most wasn't long at all.

He was actually in the armory with a handful of other soldiers going over the 'inventory', so to speak, when all hell broke loose, people began screaming, bullets flew, monsters groaned, then a temporary silence before the ones the monsters killed started getting back up only to be mowed down. He had actually taken 4 men with him to check for survivors and secure transportation in-case evacuation was needed, since no communications were open at the time, he was the ranking officer out of the group, and told the rest to remain in the armory where they most easily hold off threats.

The first death of the group came from a zombie falling out of a ceiling vent.

The Second and third were from a demon thing flinging glowing green stuff at them before it was mowed down by Andre's Spray of lead.

Now he was nearing a landing bay, trying to conserve ammo, with the last of the group watching his back and occasionally popping off a zombie that might try to wander up behind the wall of gunner. That was how they can to find the large group of both civilian and soldier zombies trying to get into a transport that hadn't been there earlier, and he began unloading on them, prioritizing the soldiers of course, he was using a box of the larger caliber ammunition that his gun could handle, but it was going to finish running out very soon, hence using the last of it on the armored zombies.

A moment more and he spoke in his thick russian Accent "PFC, Here." He tossed a grenade behind himself for his companion "Get that down the hall then we'll step out and shut the door, we can't have our stalkers following us through if we expect to secure this area." He recieved a quiet affirmative and heard the distinctive click of the grenade being armed before he stepped out into the open hangar on the other side of the door, emptying the remainder of the heavy ammo clip into what soldier zombies remained, which then auto ejected the ammo case from under his gun, While the PFC went about locking down the doors before an explosion was heard on the other side.

There were still a sizeable number of civilian zombies remaining, though aside from them body parts littered the area from the high caliber munitions blasting them to pieces prior to running out "Alright Private, COVER ME!." He was at first intending to bash his way to the transport while the private gunned down anything that wasn't in-front of him, but that was about the time that a second transport came crashing through, and he backed up away from the zombies, a large number becoming bloody smears under the crashing transport as it crashed into the first one and shoved it over a good number more that had been clawing at it's door. "Well... that's both good and bad... At least the ship didn't explode... But this makes clearing the room a LOT easier. COME AND GET ME SQUISHY LITTLE MONSTERS!!"

With the number of zombies vastly reduced, he set his gun down, empty at the time, near the PFC's cover point, and charged into the now more scattered crowd, hearing the occasional gun shots followed by a thump to keep things off his back as he plowed his armored fist into the face of anything that didn't say 'hello, sir, or stop', a good number getting caved in, but those that fell down and went for the ankles would receive an angry stomp. Of course he'd been screwed if any of those larger glowy beasties were flinging stuff at him, but zombie teeth would hardly scratch his armor, and the 'soft spots' were constantly in motion enough to keep them from tearing into him.

After a while though he got to the door of the first transport that the zombies were surrounding, 'the captain's', and banged on the door quite loudly before shouting "I hope your still alive in there, The Heards been thinned out, but we could use every gun available to get a little peace out here." With that he moved a little away from the door and began focusing more on defending it and smashing anything gooey and moany that came anywhere near him, while the PFC took a position ontop of a number of crates where they couldn't reach him and planted occasional bullets into a few here or there.

    Major Sergei "Surge" Romanov

Surge silently opened his eye's as he saw a small puddle of blood close up. He was quick to regain his composure as he got up quick, but to quick his head spun as he became dizzy for a second and went sideways he could hear gun fire outside. Surge shook his head as he went forward to inspect Sergeant Mills whom was still strapped in, she looked a little banged up but she was tough and he had to get outside now. Surge shook his head once more as he went back to the smashed cockpit and grabbed his shotgun from the dash, he silently inspected the weapon as it seemed to be in working order. Thank god for durasteel bracing he put on it, normal gun would have broke in a collision such as this.

"I hope your still alive in there, The Heards been thinned out, but we could use every gun available to get a little peace out here."

Surge heard the voice that was no doubt Sokolov the bases local giant, at least he survived through this so far, then again Surge wouldn't be surprised the man was a goo soldier and his size advantage made him pretty hard to kill. Surge went to the door of the transport as he attempted to open it, it was bashed in pretty good, but it was wrecked as well a few good kicks he could get it off its hinges, as sparks came off spastically Surge put his boot to the door with a side kick, it creaked from the weight of the kick but held. Surge kicked it one more time this time with all his strength, it flew off its hinges as it crashed to the ground below an fell on top of a what appeared to be a dead Marine. Surge picked up his helmet from the ground as he placed it on his head and activated it, the world because bright, as he could see masses moving in front of him. Surge went to the entrance and jumped down from the small height and hit the ground as he pulled out his side arm and looked up. Getting to his full height Surge aimed the pistol as a Marine attempted to come at him. Even he could tell something was not right, he hit his head, but these Marines were not his men anymore, he knew that they were gone, he didn't know how he knew but he knew. Surge held his breath for a split second as he aimed the pistol and shot one round off, the former Marines head exploded from the hollow point bullet, it came out the back as brain matter flew everywhere.

Surge turned as he saw the hulking figure of Sokolov near by, Surge pointed his gun again as he blew another attacking Marine away. Making his way to Sokolov Surge took a position beside the Sergeant as he tap the large mans should, telling him that they needed to finish clearing out the hangar bay. Surge raised his side arm again as he took aim and took off another marines head knocking the body to the ground. The ship had taken out fairly many of the attacking Marines there was now just small group left. Surge and Sokolov quickly dispatched them as the Hangar finally became quiet. Surge lowered his weapon as he looked at the side for his ammo count of his current clip it read five shots out of twelve. Surge climbed off of the crates as he walked to the security door to the hangar and made sure it was locked tight so they could have a moment to breath, satisfied with it he then walked to Sokolov.

"I am bit late to the party Sokolov perhaps you can tell me whats been going on here, and don't spare the details Sergeant."

    Sergeant Major, Andre "Juggernaught" Sokolov

Sokolov knew it wouldn't exactly be considered a 'good thing' to enjoy planting fist into the skull or formerly living people, but he always supposed it was better to enjoy it than to break down and whimper like boot camp bitch. His metal gloves were covered in clotted zombie blood quite thoroughly within another minute, though he didn't visibly respond to the Major getting out of the transport, anyone could tell it was most likely because he was more focused on the life threatening situation before him.

More importantly, despite not having shown any particular signs of stress from the battle taking place, he very noticeably sighed and relaxed heavily when he looked around and saw no more immediate threats in the area, Then thumped over to his gun next to the stack of crates as the PFC hopped down from his position. As he replied to the Major he hefted up his gun and began pulling out a box of bullets from the container on his armor "Honestly sir? Not a fucking clue. All I know is that the dead are walking, the comms were filled with screaming until they went silent, and that some bigass 'thing' threw fireballs at me and killed 2 of the men that were covering my ass."

As he continued he began jamming the bullets boxes into opposite sides of his gun, one clearly read 12mm, and the other 18mm, then pulled a level on the gun's side to complete the reloading. "I, and a handful of other marines, were in an armory maybe a couple 100 meters further into the base when all hell broke loose, We split in 2, there should still be 6 or so in that armory holding the position, a handful came with me to check for suvivors nearby and secure an exit incase things got desperate enough to make a rush evacuation and get off of phobos. You know, Supplies and a safe escape, unfortunately we found none on our way, and those men should still be in the armory keeping it safe."

Now he began heading towards the other transport as well while continuing further "The idea was to discern a safe plan for getting to this sort of hold-out position, without risking the entire group, and when I get back we were planning to grab all the ammunition we could carry without crippling anyone and get back here to set up a proper defensive position for transports... Though judging from the condition of 'yours', They have something set up to keep transports from coming and going."

He paused the chattering then to go to work on the entry-way to the transport into which Sergei's had slammed into, which was equally torn up from the impact, and with his muscle he force the door open enough to let people in or out and checked in to make sure anyone inside was even concious, then added on something to the Major "We probably won't be getting a transport in or out of here, so it'll be better to stay mobile until a better idea comes about... I don't know what 'your' plan here is, but I suggest we stop by that armory first unless your on a ridiculously tight schedule, trust me, You WILL need as much ammo as you can carry.... And that's coming from 'me', hahah... Your shotgun'll probably be good for gutting those bloody fire tossers."

    Captain Frank "Frosty" Daily

Captain Daily and the surviving marine were inside the ship, looking for whatever was valuable before they could get back inside. What the Captain had in mind was that him and the marine to go on and continue the mission. But he noticed on the ship's radar something coming towards their direction. It was another transport ship. The marine said that the ship wasn't flying normally and that something was wrong with it. Then Frank saw that the ship was crashing down and that it was about to slam right in them. Frank ordered the marine to get his ass out of the ship as he grabbed his weapon and followed him. But they didn't managed to get out, as the other ship collided with theirs as they were both sent flying into a wall.

Things fell on them afterwards. As he looked over to the marine, Frank saw that he wasn't moving. "Marine! Marine wake up." Said Frank as he kept shaking the marine bgut with no answer from him. Then he checked his pulse and realised that the guy was dead. "Rest in peace marine!" Said Frank as he grabbed the marine's helmet and placed it on his chest. Then Frank heard foot steps through the ship. Fearing it was one of those zombie soldiers, Frank grabs his weapon and slowly gets up. Frank slowly got back up as he pointed his weapon to the soldier, who didn't seem to be a zombie at all, actuaklly, he was very familiar.

"Sergeant Major Sokolov? Is that you?" Asked Captain Daily still with his weapon pointed at him. If he really was a zombie then there would have been a fire fight by now, but the guy was calm. Definetly not a zombie. Still Frank wanted to be sure.

    Gunnery Sergeant Miller
As she and Major Romanov navigated to Phobos, Stephanie remained silent. In regards to her commanding officer, she only spoke when asked a question. She didn't have the same self-control around other people, though.

As they neared the moon, the defense grid came online. She growled and clicked her safety harness around her. The twin straps of leather were virtually useless when the thing on the station attacked them. The shuttle was barely able to stick together as it cam crashing down. The next several minutes were a blur. She recalled the thundering sound of metal smashing into metal, felt the throbbing pain of her head cracking against something, and then ... darkness.

When she finally came to, there were voices around her, and the distant sound of gunfire. Her vision was blurry, and something ran down the side of her head. "Major?" she croaked, her throat dry. "God, my head hurts."
