    Dragon Hunting

Nestled within an everlasting darkness tucked away between the numerous plains of reality rested the essence of a man long ago torn away from his own world, spending the rest of his days in constant search of an opponent worthy of defeat. At this moment the mans presence loomed upon a plain which held a planet that seemed entirely encompassed by thick forest and wildlife, it seemed if there was any intelligent life there they preferred the natural beauty of their planet. One by one the mans presence plucked upon the threads of reality which connected this planet which allowed him a brief moments glimpse at the connecting area and provided him with an energy resonance as the threads vibrated, allowing him to better predict an opponents power levels before approaching. Such a meager planet however proved to hold an unimpressive amount of powered life forms within it and the man was just about to move onto a new grouping of threads, reaching out to pluck at one final thread which provided a brief glimpse at a small babbling brook slithering along the forest floor. As the image and the threads resonance began to subside the mans attention suddenly peaked as a strong energy source came from the area around the brook, how strange that an animal could possess such a strong energy source and what more its energy felt vaguely familiar.

The thread was suddenly silenced as the mans presence was forced upon it all at once, a strong deep pulsation sounding through the forest air with enough strength to shake the leaves on the trees; a prelude to the mans arrival. 10 feet from the brook a thick red bolt of energy suddenly appeared from the air only 6 feet above the ground and slammed into the soil, scarring the ground in a circle with death and ash while releasing a powerful and near blinding burst of light. When this burst of light subsided a man with a height of 5'11 stood upon the scarred ground, the man was dressed only in black pants, a black tank top and black cloth forearm wraps with grey hair which reached down passed his shoulders. The first breath which Xavier took introduced him to a foul stench, one which brought back vaguely painful memories of the days he had spent hunting a particular animal on his homeworld and though it was a painful memory it brought a smile to his face. "Dragon." With a quiet chuckle a red tinted metallic liquid began to ooze from the pores of Xaviers face, joining together to cover the entire lower half of his face. Now he looked to the material which covered his body as more of the same liquid began to ooze from his chest and forearms, producing 6 large separate squares of red metallic plating to cover his chest and abdomen 2 inches thick while 2 identical wrist guards only 1/4 of and inch thick appeared on his wrists. "I wonder where it is, kind of hard to hide when you're a giant lizard." As he spoke now, his voice was distorted by the mask which covered his face, the tone lowering slightly as well.

A weird pulsing sensation was felt both throughout her body and heard with her ears as "it", whatever it had been, traveled across the forest around Evvie's location. She glanced up from the meadow that she had been strolling through just in time to witness a bright red streak flash in the sky that temporarily blinded her. Luckily for her heeling capabilities there was no serious damage from the flash that she couldn't near instantly repair, returning her vision back to her normal, which was far above what humans could see. She slowly maneuvered over to the source of the commotion, slipping gracefully from tree to tree in quick movements that mortals would only see as a blur. She wasn't exactly being paranoid, but she didn't want to be reckless either and simply rush in head first to the cause of such a high energy..."whatever" that had happened. While she was old compared to most mortals, she had to admit that even see hadn't experienced such a sensation before, causing her to become both highly curious and a tad cautious, two emotions that were at odds with each other.
    .
When he came into view, she saw that he was coating himself in some strange red substance. He said a comment which almost made her chuckle, but in her older years she had learned better self control then that. Besides, if this man was already initiating defensive measures then things might be serious. She approached him so that she could come into his view even if he didn't have enhanced vision. As she came closer he would see a humanoid figure clothed in golden colored armor, with two ivory colored horns sticking out of the helmet (her real ones), two slender lime green wings, and a lime green tail. Parts of those were also covered in the golden scales strapped to them, but especially on her wings such armor was minimal as to not interfere with her movement. Consequentially, portions of her armor in back also had to have larger openings then normal, but this fact he couldn't see from his angle. Her helmet was open at her face, which was necessary so that she could use her fire breath attacks. If he was expecting a dragon, he'd probably be surprised by her pale, graceful human face looking back at him. Her catlike pupils focused on him as she approached. Her facial expression was not threatening, but showing a little concern about what he was up to.
    .
"Hello. That was quite an interesting introduction. My name is Evvie Elverst'Haed, and you are?" She said politely, reaching out her hand, once again nonthreatening. She hoped that the signal to shake hands was universal and not something that would seem like a provocation to him.

The air waves surrounding Xavier's ears suddenly began to vibrate before the soft sound of a woman's voice touched at his eardrums, bringing his attention but not his eyes in the direction it had come from. Focusing upon his connection to the plain of reality they were currently attached to Xavier reached out with his mind towards the voice, granting him the image of a woman.

Strange.. Xavier thought to himself. This woman exudes the energy of a dragon. Furthermore she held many a trait similar to those held by her lizard between; horns, wings and a tail. Surely taking her down and using her bones to strengthen his weapons, as was customary on his homeward, would increase the power of his weapon greatly. Though he initially thought the woman would do her best to avoid him it seemed as though she would choose a direct path to him, how foolish a woman. As she came around into his peripheral vision Xavier's eyes darted into a position to stare directly into the woman's cat-like pupils, ignoring the armor she wore as it made no difference to him. It was clear this beast-woman knew nothing of the Man standing before her, but how could she at any rate as he had never spent time in this plain. Even with this fact surely he was the kind of man who you would not want to stand face to face with let alone 'shake hands', a ridiculous gesture in Xavier's eyes.

For a few seconds Xavier simply stared into the eyes of the woman with a slight scowl on his brow, before a small smile appeared hidden beneath the mask on his face. A single word was all which came from beneath this mask to answer the woman's question, Xavier's eyes closing before his distorted voice was heard. "Death." As the final syllable left Xavier's lips his body suddenly jolted to action in nothing more than a blur of motion which would have taken only half a second. Xavier's right arm blasted forward as his right hand curled into a fist while stepping forward a half foot in an effort to strike the woman with 400lbs of force in the center of her chest.

Death? What an odd introduction indeed. The man then proceeded to attack her with what would normally have been a blur, but in her case she managed to see his actions clearly and react with time to spare. Even a half a second was far to slow to catch her off guard. Casually moving her hand that was meant to shake into a position with her palm facing towards him, she caught onto his fist, causing a loud thud to boom through ought the forest as her hand absorbed the force of the attack without forcing her backwards even an inch.
    .
"Death?" She repeated. "If you want to kill me, then at least make things more interesting and try harder then that." She could tell that he was capable of far more damage then this, which exhilarated her. First off was that weird red layer around his skin. Even if it was dangerous, she wanted to see something new after all of this time in monotony, having been too powerful to have any fun with anything for a long while without instantly destroying it. She gripped down with her fingers around his fist, testing out his powers to see if he was strong enough to break free. Other then this she stood there motionless, her eyes focused intently on him.

The thud which sounded from the connection of their hands brought a momentary smirk to his lips, it would seem as though the woman standing before him could pose more of a challenge than had originally been anticipated. However it would appear that her strategy against an unknown opponent was something to be worked on as she decided to clasp onto his hand rather than deflect it, furthermore her grip tightened on his fist and it appeared that she was toying with him. If that's the way she wanted to play her game Xavier would make for sure that this mistake would not be made twice on this day. From the pores of Xaviers knuckles a minuscule amount of the red liquid metal oozed and could possibly solidify alongside her fingers to better bridge a connection between himself and the woman. In little to no time after that a sudden and powerful surge of Dread Energy was blasted from the knuckles of his right hand which would be capable of delivering a staggering jolt of over 400MJ (Megajoules) of electricity directly into her body only a fraction a second after her grip tightened upon his hand.
[I'm sure it'll get better eventually lol.]

The red material began forming up around her fingers. Was he trying to restrict her movement? She got her answer to what was going on when a powerful surge of electricity went into her dragon scale armor. Even though dragon scale was able to defend against a great many forms of attack, including electricity, this man's power was considerable enough to allow some of it to flow into her body, and by "some of it", his power was so strong that it still felt like a powerful jolt. She instinctively released her grip and stumbled backwards, her face cringing slightly from the sudden pain. Had she not been protected by the armor then her ability to cope against such attacks was minimal relative to her other defenses, but still at superhuman levels. She may survive a direct attack of that magnitude, but it would certainly hurt her a lot and she couldn't take too much of it. That being said, she knew she couldn't be too cocky around that red substance, especially around areas where her bare flesh was exposed. She remembered that this was the first time she had felt pain in a long while, which had probably added it's own shock into the mix as well.
    .
"That was impressive," she said sincerely. "To get through what's normally an electricity proof material." She cracked her knuckles and stepped back and forth lightly on her feet, clearly preparing to get more serious from now on.
    .
She then opened her jaws wide and a massive torrent of fire hotter then a sun burst out from within her throat. The area of effect was small despite it's temperature, so all the animals in the forest were already well clear of the danger zone. Controlling her fire, she focused it all directly on his position for a good couple of seconds before allowing to dissipate. This wasn't the hottest fire she was capable of for her normal fire breath had she gone all out, but she wasn't exactly holding back too much either.

As the energy surged from Xaviers body and into the woman Xaviers eyes seemed to light up as a small smile touched at his lips. How surprising that the woman could still stand, no doubt due in part to scale armor adorning her body. Even now with the energy subsided Xavier could see sparks and cracks of the energy dancing along the woman's body, perhaps she will lose her mind before Xavier destroys her body. As Evvie began to speak again Xavier sensed a new stance coming about, it seemed as though it would be his turn to see what she could do.

As she began to shift her weight back and forth Xaviers eyes followed her movements closely, his body tensing in preparation as the dragon woman opened her jaw. Rather than flee on the spot Xavier held his ground until the flames licked at the surface of his skin before his body relaxed and a deep pulsation once again sounded through the air as Xaviers form suddenly vanished. In the same instant his form vanished Xavier appeared a half foot behind the woman, having traversed this realms reality threads to achieve a surprise position. Taking only another half second Xaviers fist lurched through the air, the metal remnants on his knuckles shaping into several serated edges as his fist careened towards the center of her back; holding 300 lbs of force.
    [Very sorry about the wait.]

Evvie had heightened senses but couldn't sense energy, so noticed a little too late that he had teleported behind her at the sound of him lurching forward. The punch hit her hard in the back between her wings and she was knocked forward, but then nimbly gained control over her flight and spun around so that she was now facing him. Her feet landed on the ground and pressed downward to help cancel out the remaining inertia carrying her away from her opponent. Dust flew up from underneath her boots until she skidded to a stop within the grass charred by her previous flame breath.

"Another blunt attack," she thought to herself. "Not very effective against me, I'm afraid."

She let out a grin as she rushed forward at him at close to 200 miles an hour, which would appear nearly instantaneous to any mortal at such a close distance. As she got closer she made a move to deliver a punch of her own with her right fist towards his face.

Watching the woman fall forward and feeling the vibration of the collision shaking through his body exhilarated Xavier a good deal, lighting his eyes up as a small smirk touched at his lips. As she turned and spoke to him he gave her no.answer, set only to watch her movements now in hopes to catch a mistake. What came next had surprised him slightly, the woman was much faster than Xavier had anticipated however she wasot fast enough as through Xaviers eyes her movements were just below a blur. It left him little time to react but it would still prove to be.enough as Xavier merely tilted his head and shoulders to the right, feeling a slash open upon his cheek as the.woman's fist skimmed his body. At the same.moment his body angled itself Xaviera right hand struck out as.quickly and viciously as.it could, intent on meeting the woman's charge with this quick jab. It was a shot in the dark, but to.ensure a good outcome should contact be made Xavier readied another.jolt of Dread Energy on the surface of his knuckles, which would be expelled into Evvies body if contact was made.
[I wasn't sure.if you stopped to punch or just keep going. So I set it up to work.either way. If you end up slamming into me afterwards I'll understand lmao.]

With her attack dodged she quickly flipped up into the air with a stroke of her powerful wings. His jab went underneath her as she went over his head and landed on the ground behind him. Without bothering to turn around, her tail had arched back while in flight and then let loose the moment her feet touched the ground, coming at his back like an extremely powerful whip.
