Tanner was a little slower eating, if he wasn't he would get heartburn. It was horrible getting old and the body started to act differently. He was wallowing in a little self pity when Henry pipped up about the book reading. He lifted his gaze and smiled warmly at the boy. "It shows you like reading," he said. "How are things going other than reading your eyes dry?" Might as well try and pick up how this book was affecting Henry.
He noticed a hand reaching for Henry's head but was stopped. He had no idea what that meant, he was getting conflicting messages from the smile and body language. "I wouldn't be able to get a bigger one in tonight," he confessed. "I have a second volume in my car I could loan you. But nothing bigger or more challenging I am afraid. Tomorrow before I come I would be able to find something along those lines."
