Alrighty... this is what I've got.

Name: Josephine Philemon

Age: 28

Rank: Captain

Appearance: Captain Philemon stands at 5’8” tall with a well toned, feminine build that she carefully maintains. Her black hair is longer than regulation and often kept tightly coiled in an elaborately braided bun at the nape of her neck. Her blue eyes are cool and penetrating but occasionally glint with a dark humor. She wears makeup when in public, a well crafted touch that gives her a polished, deliberate look. Though she is meticulous in dress and rarely seen out of uniform that does not mean she comes across as anything less than feminine. Her uniforms are fitted so that one cannot mistake her as anything but female.

Military History: Born the youngest daughter of a high ranking Air Force general and a socialite mother whose family had ties to the Military, it was assumed that Josephine would marry an officer and produce many fine sons to fill the ranks of the Air Force in their time. She was educated for such a purpose and raised with full appreciation of the Military of the Carodie Republic’s many contributions to her country’s glory. She was raised on such tales and was her father’s most attentive audience, even more so than her three older brothers who all enlisted in their turn. All was going according to plan until the day she disappeared at the age of 16 after a bitter argument with her Father who never spoke of its subject.

A long search was conducted and after many years hope was lost and she was declared dead. There is even a gravestone on her family’s estate which remains to this day as a testament to the bitter blood that would ensue. One night, years later she arrived on her parent’s doorstep the evening of a large summer party and explained herself. She had run away and enlisted in the Carodie’s Naval Academy under a false name and age. She claimed she had not wanted a leg’s up from her family connection but the bitter look in her father’s eyes spoke of a different tale.

She had excelled, graduating at the top of her class through talent and sheer hard work and had worked her way up through several positions and had decided to come clean to her family once she was in what she thought was an unassailable position. Normally not one to tout her own virtues she laid them out in the open for her parents, medals of valor, commendations for bravery against great odds and being wounded in battle. Her parents were furious, her mother for her deception and the worry she’d caused and her father for his own quiet reasons. They sent her packing, which was fine by her. She continued to exhibit a real talent for leading men and not bending under pressure and worked her way up in rank further, not only without a leg up from her family connection but did it with active resistance from her furious father who wielded considerable political clout against her. She was even brought to trial for her falsified papers but her exemplary service and good legal counsel saw her through that. Despite her father’s animosity and attempts at black listing she has risen to the rank of captain and is looking forward to this new challenge to rub his face into.

Personality: She is a strange mix of custom and regulations vs. last minute improvisation and rule breaking that never fails to see her through difficult times. She has a strange and dark sense of humor and a stubborn independent streak a mile wide, with a slow burning, explosive temper. In many ways she is her Father’s daughter (down to her love of fine cigars and good whiskey) but heaven help the person who points out any similarity.

Name: Kyra Iva Hanigan

Age: 24

Rank: Captain's Aide, 1'st Lieutenant

Appearance: Kyra is 5'7" and is very slim and somewhat well trained. She has scapula length black hair which is tied into a ponytail. She sometimes tucks her hair into her uniform to make sure that it don't get caught in anything. She also has grey eyes and often wear black mascara with some shading and red lipstick. She normally wears a black and brown uniform and a hat, plus gloves and a corset. Kyra, just like Josephine, is rarely seen out of her uniform, and even then, her clothing style is somewhat the same.

Military History: Being born to a noble family, Kyra had an easy life when she grew up in Doir. She got anything and everything she wanted, but she rarely asked for anything. From when she was born, she was taught how to behave like a lady and was expected to bring the family into an alliance with another noble house. Kyra though, did not know that she was raised for this sole purpose as the eldest daughter of the family. One summer during a party, she was approached by a gentleman whom said that he was her fiancé. Surprised and confused, she asked her parents about what the man had said. And that is when they broke the news that they were engaged and soon to marry, their parents had decided on it since many years ago. Kyra was lost for what to do, but she nodded to her parents and walked back to the man. She offered a simple greeting and they danced together.

The man was a dream, polite, helpful, respectful and she started to take a liking to him, figuring that the engagement was not so bad after all. Not too long after the party, their parents arranged for them to move in together in a villa just outside of the capital. And so they did, Kyra was living her dream life every day, at least for the first month. After that, the charming man whom she had started to like quite a bit turned into a monster. He was cruel, violent and possessive, her illusion of the man faded away quite quickly. She kept telling herself that he might change back to that sweet person whom she knew before, but he only got worse. One night, he came into her room, drunk and climbed onto her bed. He said that she was his for the taking however and whenever he wanted, she would soon be his by law too. Frozen by fright, she lay still in the bed, hoping that this nightmare would end soon. However, she was not that lucky. The man took another sip from the bottle in his hand before he sat it down on the table near the bed and tried to force himself onto her person.

Driven by fear, she grabbed the bottle and smashed it against the side of his head before she jumped out of the bed and ran to the study where she hid. She could not stay hidden for long though, her right hand was bleeding from smashing the bottle and he found her in the study, following the trail of blood. She could hear the sound of cocking a gun so she tried to crawl away but the man grabbed her by the throat and shoved the gun into her mouth. He told her to lie still as he tore off her nightwear and pulled out the gun from her mouth as he tried to pull down his trousers. Making a split second decision when she saw her chance she grabbed his hand holding the gun and pointed it towards his leg and forced him to pull the trigger. She shot caused him to lose his grip on the gun and she picked it up. Slowly backing out of the room, keeping the pistol aimed at the man before she turned and ran back to her own room and got clothed and fled the house back to her parents.

Back at her parents house though, she was not met by sympathy after she told them about the incident. In fact, her mother slapped her and yelled at her for not taking it for the family. Her parents disowned her and by political pressure from both families caused the navy to force-draft her into its ranks at the age of seventeen. Once there, she kept her distance from others due to what had happened. It took a full year before he spoke without being ordered to speak. The navy was at a loss for what to do. They could not get rid off her due to the families, and she did not want to be there in the first place. One young female officer decided to take her under her wing though. Progress was slow though as Kyra mostly kept to herself when she was not needed in her role as an aide and she was still very quiet. Another year passed and Kyra started to open up to the officer whom she now knew by the name of Josephine. Kyra, bit by bit, told her about what had happened and why she was in the navy against her will. The woman made a few dark jokes that, despite their nature, cheered Kyra up somewhat and they both agreed on doing their best. Kyra then became Josephine's permanent aide and as the years passed, she turned into a different woman.

Personality: Strong willed and extremely stubborn mixed with good leadership and administrative skills, Kyra makes a good aide for Josephine. Josephine's personality have rubbed off on her quite a bit and they share the same kind of humour and independence. She have turned into a driven and focused woman whom will not hesitate to break a few regulations to make sure that everything flows on smoothly on the ship and that Josephine's orders are carried out. She can also be quite, unorthodox, in her methods of gathering and compiling information that needs to be passed on. She hold a huge respect for Josephine since she brought her out of her swamp and will not tolerate any insubordination against the orders given from the captain. She is most often found either following Josephine around or in her office outside the captain's quarters.

I see a pattern here. Everyone so far is born into military. Wich I might add is common in the navy over here.

Edit: Except Kyra. That's a terribly sad backstory ;_;. Should have shot the douche.

Edit 2: The men were prides of their families, the women the opposite. I like this dynamic XD. Very in tune with the Era I feel.

Well it is a good starting point, provides a bit of back-story and motivation.

It is. I just pointed it out becouse its coming along nicely.Its also a rather young crew for the most part. Feels like a "new generation" project. It's cool.
