Chat box

I don't think it needs much explaining I just thought it would be useful to have a hatbox in the corner sort of like facebook but less crowded so people who don't use t on't be bothered. My reason for this is sometimes I'm talking to people and then I get into writing a post for an rp and that may take up to half an hour or more occasionally if it's long post and I do lot of revising. By then people who had questions or just said hi on my "wall" have logged off without a word back from me.

I get some people wouldn't want this so a setting to hide it or cut it off would also be needed. Just thought I'd throw it out there.

lololol sorry figured someone would have said this by now but I was too lazy to look for it. Mind explaining why not because it's really simple to add. (well with the website builders I've used idk about this)

Bandwidth is already a pain in the arse without adding a Chatboxes resource requirements.

Chatboxes are awful for highly active sites like this one, and not just for bandwidth concerns. Such a thing being displayed on the front page of the site would invite use, too many people using it would make it useless for practical purposes like you suggest. If your problem is that you're missing what people say to you because you're writing, you have one of two options that are both far superior to a chatbox.

1. Acquire an instant messenger program or three, trade info with your RP buddies, keep in live contact there.

2. Go check on stuff every ~10 minutes if you're so concerned about missing things.

Try those before asking for new site features to fix your problems.

It's not as much problem as it is ridiculous. I mean, seriously, an active forum that has chat box and at least a hundred active users would already see a crazy amount of traffic. Now this forum has larger userbase.
