Donny was quick to use whatever device he could to keep himself alive. When this DV person, a name Donny was somewhat familiar with, arrived to offer his help, Donny didn't hesitate to use his machine to assist him. He followed as instructed and planted the device over the approximate location over his heart, and the effects were instantaneous. It started to mend some of Donny's lighter wounds and prevented the harsher ones from getting worse, as well as removed any impurities in his system that would threaten his life. His stump of a left hand stump bleeding but was still a bloody stump, so he was going to need to get out of here ASAP. "I gotta get out of here..." Donny struggled to his feet, but it was easier then before. He looked around at the situation around him and thought it was rather pointless. For one, they weren't safe just because they took out that giant monster; surely more would show up, and if that was the biggest of those creatures, then surely any smaller ones that it kept in check were going nuts to claim new turf. That's how it worked underground when Donny witnesses gang warfare; once the biggest contender is down, everyone get's into a moshpit to take what he left behind. And Donny would rather not have to deal with an innumerable amount of uglies trying to prove their dominance over him. Donny walked over to the one who moved him (Michael) and tapped his shoulder. Donny was still rather tired and weak, but he could possibly make the journey back to one of his hideouts. But not alone. "This place isn't safe, you know that. We need to go up a level, Market level-" Donny paused to wheeze. "We need to find the tanning refinery."
Violet had been climbing down the mountain when everything happened. The damn thing was to high to simply slid down. 'Listen to the enforcer ,and you'll find yourself almost falling of a giant hill of garbage' Violet thought. Once she dropped down from the giant hill ,she heard a loud plee for DV. "I guess you run into him more then one would think" Violet mumbled running towards where she heard the voices. Showing up to find all the people that aided her and Kent Violet smiled. Though it faded slightly when Kent lied about where he was from. Violet understood why ,but she never did like to hear someone lie.
'If Dv is the king of the underground then I guess I have been out of the kingdom to long' Violet thought laughing a little .
Elliot jerked his head to the side to see a person crying out in agony as his hand was eaten away by the beast's acid. He winced a little bit, watching him cry out in pain. Elliot stumbled back a bit when he had thrown a bomb in frustration, him getting shocked just a tad because he was wearing ear gauges and a tongue piercing. Shaking it off he just stood off to the side as the kid was getting help from a person that was known as DV. He heard stories about him in the Underground but never thought much of it. He cared for himself and only him. After hearing the story coming from the man that stood a few feet away from him with the pistol, Elliot couldn't help but give a slow clap. You could tell it was sarcastic and that you can see it in his face that he was trying to stifle a laugh. "Great speech, dude. But I think there's a minor flaw it in. Some of us don't have anyone. I'm all alone. Why? Because people who felt that we shouldn't have these abilities killed off not just my mother, but my dad and boyfriend just to get to me. So fuck this city and everyone in it. I care about me only. And if I find one of those sentinals, I'm phasing them into a wall and leaving them there." His voice had went from sarcastic to cold in a matter of seconds. He clutched his boyfriend's dog tags that he wore around his neck. He tried to keep from showing emotion, not wanting to show any kind of weakness. "I'm out of here. Good luck in your little crusade." Elliot turned around and started walking away.
"How long ago"Violet asked her eyes getting slightly glassy understanding his pain. After a while Violet continued. "What would your boyfriend mother and father think then" Violet told him harshly. She knew what it was like to lose. To endure loss. Every time she heard someone hate the world because things ended badly it just made her want to shake some sense into them. "They would probably want to help others not turn your back on them. Who says their isn't a little boy just like you who won't lose their parents and other loved one because of these monsters and doctor hugo" Violet explained further. Violet didn't expect him to completely turn around by these words ,bit she hoped he would at least stay. Maybe he would even help with a little fuss.
DV understood Elliot's selfishness but not so much of his sadness. However, seeing as though he is an augmented, he would play an important role for everyone here. Not only that, he holds the vial which would be the key to escaping the Infected. Trying to not abuse his title as DV as much as possible, DV faced Elliot and said to him,
"It doesn't matter if you care about yourself only. That is more than normal here in the underground for some people. However you should see your situation more carefully here."
DV held up his hand into a fist and raised his pointer finger to the sky. "Firstly, we are surrounded by the Infected. Sure you have the vial but what's to stop you from being in danger from other threats?"
He continued on and further pointed his middle finger up, "Secondly, we have a common enemy. You only care about yourself but there's no harm done by helping us. Not only will we get out of here quicker, but YOU will get out of here quicker too"
DV wasn't sure what he really wanted to say. However he felt strongly about the individual walking away. He could tell he was deeply hurt by his emotions but DV wasn't able to quite figure out what. After all, it wasn't like he was a mind reader.
Behind the mask, DV really didn't care if he had possession of the vial or not. In fact, he didn't even care if he was involved with this group or not. He was a master of adapting and only takes the safest possible option. If it wasn't available, he could've just did the next best thing regardless of what it was.
Seeing as the individual with the vial wasn't responding very well, DV announced
"Whether or not you choose to come with us we will be heading to the market area" he said while motioning his hands towards Donny supporting his words.
Donny looked around the ground, a bit annoyed at the standoff. This other guy, the one holding the vail, seemed rather full of himself. He's seen his type; angsty loner who thinks he's a badass. Whether or not he is wasn't really his problem; Donny had to get back to the Market Place to get out of this hell-hole and make sure his business doesn't crash cause he's not around to make sure everything is going where it needs to be. Granted, it could run without him, but he also knew his advisers and most of his co-leaders were treacherous and as selfish as the guy with the vial; they're out for themselves and would screw anyone to get by. Also, he was hearing more monsters coming, though that might just be him. "I don't know about you guys, but I'm getting out of here. I think more of those monsters are coming, and I'm not going to stick around to fight again" Donny was strong enough to walk and could probably do some maneuvers if it came to it, but without his left hand, he was going to have some complications. No matter, better to have to deal with mobility issues then a infected freak breathing down his neck. With a quick look Donny knew where he was going to go. He jumped off the rocks and left to the Market Place.
“We should go, it’s safer as a group” Lionel suggested to the others as he followed after Donny. “It’s probably not a good idea to stick around in the market level or slum level too long, it’s densely populated and it’s most likely where most of the infected creatures are hunting” he informed Donny.
Lionel turned to DV and asked “Can you track where the announcements were coming from? Can you find out where Doctor Hugo is?”
Elliot rolled his eyes as the people that were down there with him kept telling him how he should stick with him. He didn't even know why people would want him around in the first place. His ability would come in great handy, but he didn't know if they knew what he could do. Crossing his arms, he spaced out for a few minutes, thinking about his options. It wouldn't be too bad if he tagged along, however he was used to doing things by himself and didn't want people weighing him down. Plus he had trust issues. Elliot didn't know these people and for all he knew, they could back stab him at any moment. He kept the vial in his back pocket and just stared back at them all. "I still think saving this city is a waste of time. They already showed that they don't want us here. But...if it fucking makes you feel better, I'll stay with you. Just don't hold me back. And I still stand by what I said. If I find one of those Sentinels, I'm offing them right then and there." He went quiet and walked passed them, going to a closed door that led out and just phased through it, not even bothering to open it.
Turning his back against the group and following the direction of Kent and Donny who has now caught DV's interest with all of his weaponry and equipment, DV spoke towards Elliot,
"Couldn't have it any other way" in regards to the Sentinels
"Besides, our top priority is to save ourselves and not the city yet"
DV explained while trying to keep his 'King' like image he didn't want. Really, DV just wanted to be alive. He didn't care for the other lives in the underground. And for that cause of keeping him alive, he believes this group will do more than enough.
Hiding his selfish intentions under his mask, DV headed for the markets.
As Donny ran through the sewers, getting closer and closer to the market, the other guy warned him about the infected in the market and slum levels. "Well, no shit. But unlike what you think, the market and slums do a good job taking care of themselves." Donny stopped and looked back at the guy. Underneath his mask, Donny smiled devilishly. "Especially with Maverick Manufacturing around." Donny chuckled and kept going, eventually hitting the market level.
Once he arrived, things seemed normal. People selling assorted junk or services, from freelancers to prostitutes, of all ages, genders, and abilities. But he wasn't in his territory yet; the infected were only one of the dangers here one this place. He wasn't sure about the others, but he needed to find that tanning factory. It was one of the places funded by Maverick Manufacturing, which made leather and other assorted clothing and accessories from leather. Legitimate business. He had to slink in the shadows like many other shady types that populated the market streets as to not draw attention to himself. He was called out by some street walkers and heckled by beggars, but he ignored them easily. When he started hearing the bangs of gunfire, he knew he was near Maverick Turf. He knew because of the gunshots; Grease Guns, Over-and-Under Shotguns, .32 pistols, antiques. Stuff he gave away to the kids and teenagers to protect the place. Only certain people with the right membership marks was allowed to enter; Donny had a rather high ranking one, given that he ran the Maverick Manufacturing. And he knew he arrived in the right place when he was held up by a gang of youths and an assortment of guns were pointed at his face. They asked for ID, and Donny showed his neck. On it was the mark of Maverick Manufacturing. They took a close look and lowered their guns. "I got some friends coming with me. Maybe. One of them is DV himself. Be nice to them, but... They will be meeting me at the Tanning Refinery. If they aren't there, well... Do you jobs." The gang of kids mumbled and let Donny go. There, he ran off to the Tanning Refinery. He had to hope over some corpses of hobos and gang-bangers, but that was just part of the scenery here. More gunshots, and screams, but that was the least of his problems right now.
