    RoleplayCeption [HC-Adv]

    Obligatory story-time
Once upon a time, coincidentally in a world exactly like the one you live in, there was a group of Internet roleplayers, much like the ones browsing this thread, who had recently begun on a campaign set in a classic fantasy world on a friendly play-by-post roleplaying site, much like the one you’re an active member of. The apparent, cliché goal of this roleplay was to overthrow the evil king’s regime, who ignored the voices of his people. None too much impressed by the storyline, the Players complained to their Game Master, urging him to spice it up a bit. Coincidentally very alike the king in the campaign, their Game Master decided to ignore his Players’ complaints. Yet being good-natured roleplayers, they grudgingly went along anyway. When all their characters had been submitted, tweaked and approved, the In-Character thread was put up. After their first evening of posting, all but the GM went to bed feeling none too optimistic about the campaign. Tired from the day’s disappointments, they quickly fell asleep. Yet instead of finding their dreams, they found themselves inside the very same fantasy world in which they had so recently begun their clichéd campaign.

    Plot
Coincidentally you find yourself in the exact same situation as the people in the story depicted above. You will roleplay roleplayers trapped in the fantasy world of a campaign you had just started. The GM you all dislike has also been sucked in, taking on the role of the evil king. As experienced roleplayers you will reason that the only way to return to your real lives is by finishing the campaign.

    Characters
You all retain the base personality and all memories of your real selves, but suddenly having gained the appearance, skills and strengths of the characters you made for the very same roleplay. All information you wrote on your original character sheet for the campaign would apply to your character, excepting personality and memory, which would be from your real life, not from the prescribed personality and bio of your character. You begin the campaign as low-level characters, so you can't start out being overly powered. I will take on the role of the evil Game Master as well as neutrally controlling the environment as this roleplay’s GM.

    Notes
I’d be looking for relatively experienced roleplayers, as the concept is relatively complicated. Recruitment is open. If you have any questions or inquiries, please don’t hesitate to call your nearest supplier of dairy products. Or if you prefer, PM me or voice it down below.

    Key Elements
    Mature, humour, fantasy, roleplayception.

    OOC-thread is up.

I'm tentatively interested. So, you have the plot of trying to overthrow the king...
Meanwhile, are they trying to figure out what the hell happened? I mean as a rational roleplayer in 2013, I might be excited to find myself in fantasy-land, but mostly I would go WTF. Do you have an idea for that or is it just ignoring that part.

    @ Inara

The WTF bit is very much a part of it, though you could also be overjoyed by the fact that you've amazingly been trapped in a fantasy world, or however your character would react.

I'm in! This totally had my attention from the first and kinda reminds me of a DnD cartoon I watched as a kid.

The roleplay character I've created to play would be a very experienced mage. She's cool, calm and wise beyond her years having spent much time with many different races including elves and dwarves, she's a peacemaker and adviser to kings and queens.

Real world me? Young, impatient, impulsive and not so wise. Faking it till I'm making it.

I'd love to play up the lapse in memories and personalities.
This is my fav Roleplay that I'm playing right now. Great writers and zombies. what more could you ask for?

What do you feel about characters who are blatantly and intentionally mary-sueish?

Definitely seems interesting... I kind of try to vary my characters when playing, from melee tanks to brainy non-combatants, so I don't know what archetype I'd end up having myself (as myself as ARGH) play. Maybe some sort of jack of all trades.

Actually, now that I think about it, my past as a victim of bullying and discrimination means my characters tend to have a protective element to them; they might not be paladins or brave and noble, but they tend to be of the "here is the line in the sand; on one side is you and on the other is what I hold dear. You will not cross this line twice." mentality.

The worse the clash of characters the better. +1 WTF points.

    @TasuaAiisen

A cliché character in a cliché fantasy world partaking in a cliché plot? I feel this adds to the roleplayceptionism.

    I love this idea!

My idea of a character: male thief, disciplined in the arts of stealth and deceit. He doesn't talk much, most of his thoughts taking place inside his head and he believes actions speak louder than words.

Myself: Female who does things more by impulse, knowing if she thinks about anything too much she'll talk herself out of it. Clumsy, hates the silence, and very temperamental. She lives more in her imagination than the real world and has a horrible time telling a lie.

Nice character idea, though your thief would have the personality of your real self and not of your character. +1 WTF points for genderbending though.

I'm thinking of a squeely fangirl type as the rper, and a super badass generic idealistic hero type with ideals the size of a skyscraper.
