X-Men: The New Era

Hello, I am a co-GM for the RP Group X-Men: The New Era (<-----click to view our group page), and we have recently lost a few members due to personal issues and the likes. So, we have decided to search for a few new people to join our group. We are looking for those interested in joining us in a fun, active, and organized X-Men RP, and the main thing that we are asking for is dedication. This RP is intended to be more long term, and requires all members to be active in the In Character threads as well as the OOC; the whole point of the RP is to experience and live the life of a newer mutant that has enrolled in the Xavier Memorial Academy for New Mutants (A sister school opened along with the Jean Grey School for Higher Learning, with the specialty task of teaching new mutants how to gain a better control of their abilities; our characters are special however, they are in an advanced group of students chosen to begin training to be future X-Men).

Over time our characters will grow, in terms of both power and in who they are, and will one day (hopefully) become fully developed heroes graduated into the X-Men. As you can see, this is not something that can happen over night, and thus what I mean when I say our RP is more "long term". Through organized Danger Room Sessions, Classroom Teachings, Missions, and even the experiences that the characters have in the free-roam portion of the RP, characters will grow, change, make new friends, learn new skills, fight against those that threaten the late Charles Xavier's dream, and do everything that one would imagine a student at a school for "gifted (mutant) youngsters" would do. If this sounds interesting to you, then keep reading, if not this would be a great place to stop .


Our group is really friendly towards newly joined players and is relatively laid back when it comes to our RP. We ask that you maintain a Casual RolePlaying level and respect our rules, which consist of the following:


1. No God Modding/Power Play

2. Be respectful to all rules and all players

3. Take this RP seriously, it's meant for you to have fun, but don't just come here to goof around, we love this RP so please respect that

4. Always keep character's personality and history in mind when posting

5. If you are going to join this group, please realize that this is intended to be a long term role play, so do not join unless you can dedicate and stick around

6. Do your best to post at least once a day

7. Do not intentionally overshadow other characters, give everyone their chance to shine

8. Have fun, live the life of the X-Men Character you have always dreamed of


The only powers that restricted are telepathy/mind control (like Jean Grey), healing factors (like Wolverine), and time control (like the Asian guy from the show Heroes)

Also, just so there isn't any duplicates I'm going to list the powers that our current and past character have/had, so that hopefully you can create characters with different abilities. They are:

Bone manipulation, the creation of energy weaponry and shields, earth manipulation, light manipulation, sound manipulation, ice manipulation, plant manipulation/ability to talk to animals, magnetic manipulation (like Magneto), control of plant toxins and poisons, chaos fire/sigil creation (kind of like Scarlet Witch), animal transformation (like a werewolf, but not exactly), phasing through walls and teleportation, and the ability to tap into potential energy and turn it into kinetic energy.

NAME: Zeke Bayou

When a star is next to the power it means it is activated when he drinks soda
Super Strength*, Acid blood*, Echlocation (The power to see things much better than others even though you are blind) which activates when he takes off his glasses but this does harm him over time, Superhuman stamina* and Photographic reflexes*

HISTORY: Before Zeke got his powers he lived in what he called 'narkville USA'. Most of the people there were uptight, focused only on work and never swore. But worst of all, they hated fizzy drinks. Now Zeke was a 'bad egg' as most people including his parents and siblings called him. He would usually play pranks on people in the town using his squirt gun....which he had modified by his friend over the borders. The squirt gun fired like a small machine gun now and done at least a bit of damage! Perfect. His friend also helped him import soda for him to drink. As far as he knew, everyone hated him he didn't really care, they never had any fun anyway. When he reached puberty his powers kicked in, he noticed he could do the exact same movements as everyone else to the point and could sprint for ages without stopping. All with the help of soda. His friend from the border noticed this and told him about the X-Men and the school they were trained at, Zeke just thought nothing of it that is until his friend offered him the chance to cross the border and go to the school. Zeke could think of only one thing, the biggest prank he had ever done....at that town. He waited for the right time....2AM most peoples bed times were 8PM so this time was perfect. He gathered an absurd amount of amps and put them in the centre of the town. He raised his pick to the sky and said one thing "For Those About to Rock We Salute You" he strummed one note and with a mighty noise and crash the amps blew him across a fair bit of the town and woke everyone up. They chased him to his friends van where he got in and successfully escaped. Well i say successfully but success comes with sacrifice. The townsfolk got a bit crazy during the chase and as Zeke turned to close the van doors a shard of glass cut his eyes. But something was strange he could see much better now, he could also see when he had 3-D glasses on, strange.

Haha bro, what do you mean you "forgot".....I think we messaged you like five times lol :P. Anyways, I'm going to wait until PoisonLilies is back on before accepting any characters, so hold tight bud. Also, the whole teacher character thing (though cool) is probably going to be a no go.

Btw, are all of your characters comedic?

Well most of them reflect upon my personality, so a lot of the time yes but some of the time no. It all depends on the current geological location of Neptune in accordance to Alpha Centuri and Napoleon Bonaparte.
