[High Casual]The Faded History Of An Avatar[Reboot]

    The OOC

    Jushin Jeo Lang

    A few months earlier...

"Jushin, I need to speak with you please." One of the Generals of the Fire Nation spoke in a serious tone. Jushin was doing homework but guessed that he could stop for now. When the general walked away, Jushin immediately got up and followed him. They walked through the hallways and into the dining hall, where everyone was sitting. His eyes scanned everyone, their eyes burning a piercing hole in him. 'What did I do this time?' He thought to himself, walking behind the General, who walked up on the stage then waved for Jushin to follow him up there. "Ladies and Gentleman, Boys and Girls, I pronounce to you, the new Avatar..." He waved his hands dismissively towards Jushin, who had done passed out from the news. He never knew that he would be the Avatar. Was that the special glow that his father always talked about? Was that why he had to train day and night? Everyone was shaking Jushin, trying to revive him but he came to on his own. His eyes slowly opened up wide, his mouth dry from being passed out for so long. "Give him some space please.." The Generals commanded as someone brought him some water. "Thank you." Jushin said while taking a big sip from the cup of water.

Jushin got up off the floor, still not believing that he is the new Avatar, especially with the rising forces of the Chi Blockers. He walked to his room and closed the door, locking it as he didn't want to be bothered. Jushin walked over to his window, looking up at the stars, hoping that it all was dream, that he'll wake up from by pinching himself. "Ouch." He whispered lightly, after pinching himself then sat in the ledge of the window with a huff, his knees buried into his chest and his head against the wall.

    ----------------------------------------

    Present Day...

"Jushin! Jushin! Jushin!" His master called out, Jushin mind was somewhere else right now and he really wasn't focusing on learning Firebending today. "Jushin!" A fireball was coming his way. That was when he came back to reality, side-stepping the fireball as he then focused on his inner chi and unleashed a fireball towards his Master, who side step as well. "I was trying to get your attention. Are you okay?" Jushin shook his head, sitting down on the ground as he folded his arms over his chest. "I don't want to be the Avatar." He pouted like a little kid as his Master sighed and stood beside him, speaking in a low and serious tone. "There have been great ones before you, my child. You have a legacy to fulfill." Jushin looked to the side, knowing that his Master was right. He got up off his ass, dusting it off with his hand as he smiled towards his Master. "Thank you." His Master nodded then spoke again. "You are welcome." Jushin walked away from his lesson and back to his room, but before he entered a messenger came running down the hallway. "Jushin! Jushin! I have a message for you. Now, with you being the Avatar and all, you have to learn all elements, even chi blocking and weaponry. Don't worry, we called some of the best, that we have seen." The messenger smiled then walked away, shouting. "Oh! Might want to get ready, cause they will be here shortly!" Jushin sighed and walked right into his room, looking around as he grabbed a bag out of his closet and a few clothes. 'What an adventure this should be.' He thought to himself while looking at a picture of his mother and father, tears coming into his eyes but not streaming down. With a slight huff, he patiently waited for his "Masters" to show up.

Amber had no idea why she was called to help the Avatar if he already knew Firebending what was the point of her being there. Amber sighed and walked up to the door and knocked. She listened to the feet of people scurrying around most likely making sure the Avatar's place looked presentable for the people that are suppose to help out with his training. Finally a maid came to the door and as she opened it a messenger ran out of the door, she side-stepped letting him past. "Sorry!" He called back as she continued running towards his next delivery. Amber shook her head and sighed she then turned towards he young maid who looked at her with wide eyes. "Your the lightning bender!" She exclaimed. The others who were near by began whispering the arrival of one of the rare few who can master the control over the highest level of firebending, it spread like wildfire through the giant house and training center that the Avatar lived in.
"Come this way to your room." The maid said. Amber followed the maid through the maze of hallways to a room that seemed to be personally made for a firebending girl, on the way there they had passed three other rooms each seemed to represent a certain element and gender. 'That one is for an airbending girl. That one a waterbending boy. And that one an earthbending boy.' Amber thought as they passed each room. She walked into her room which had a mattress laid out on the ground with a red and pink blanket on top of it. Above the bed on the wall was the fire nation symbol and on the walls were candles reflecting the light for her room. She set her bag down and when the maid spoke it made her jump, she had completely forgotten about her being there. "You will be meeting Jushin, the Avatar down in the outdoor training courtyard." The maid said as she walked away. 'Jushin so that's the Avatar's name' Amber thought as she began to make her way to the outdoor training courtyard. When she arrived she sat down and shut her eyes, thinking of her family and old village and all the things she's gone through since leaving 3 years ago. The wind blew through her hair and one single tear ran down her face landing on a flower next to her.

Diao patted Yuan on the head and laughed. "Don't worry, Yuan. We're almost there. And I'm sure the great Avatar is rich enough for a feast!" The sky bison merely grunted, but it was easy to notice how her pace had sped up. She had just departed from the Eastern Air Temple a few days ago, and was already excited at how her adventure was unfolding. It was an act of fate (or extreme luck) that, upon bidding the sisters good-bye and flying down the temple, she managed to meet a weary messenger climbing up the mountain that was to deliver the scroll about sending an airbending teacher. He requested that she bring it to the temple, having both a sky bison and glider, it would be easy. She couldn't find it in herself to say no... but she couldn't exactly return to the temple right after she just said she'd come back years in the future. And honestly now, this was the chance of a lifetime! Merely meeting the Avatar was a miracle in itself, but to actual teach him? By spirits, Diao would never refuse such an opportunity! So she kept the scroll and self-assigned herself as the trainer to the Avatar. She had sparred on occasion with masters and could safely say she was on par with them, but the fact remained that she wasn't an "official" master yet. The spirits will forgive her... Probably.

Upon catching sight of the large compound, and, as if sensing the relief from her master, Yuan started gliding down until she landed in front of the large entrance doors. One of the workers came towards her and Diao placed Yuan's reins in his hand and smiled politely, "Please take care of her." The man gave back a nervous smile before leading the bison to the stables. A maid greeted her by the doors and Diao quickly gave a small bow. "Good morning," she said with her characteristic smile, "my name is Diao Meng, the airbending teacher of the Avatar." The maid faltered a little at how formal she was before bowing as well. "We welcome you, Master Diao." An arrow of guilt suddenly shot through Diao's heart. "Please follow me, I will lead you to your quarters to place your belongings, and then to the area where you are to meet with the Avatar and other masters." After placing her single bag in the room, she followed after the maid to the training ground. So far, the only one present was a redhead. Diao tilted her head to get a better view of her, but then gasped when she saw that the woman was crying! She quickly walked over and patted her softly on the arm. "Excuse me, miss. Are you alright?" she asked, her tone laden in worry.

"I'll take this, then. Thank you very much~."
As polite as Jian sounded, what he was doing was anything but polite. He'd just knocked a man over, taking the food that he'd dropped. Rather quickly, too, who knows what would come from the situation- the man could get up, other, bigger street thugs could come out from the shadows... Stuffing a load into his mouth, he made his way to escape, only to have his leg catch onto a bag, pulling it open. A scroll slipped out, rolling slightly and unfolding as it did so. Curious, Jian grabbed it and read over the words.

A waterbending master! Ooh, to train the Avatar, huh? Brilliant. His eye wandered over to the fallen messenger, his foot lightly prodding his cheek, turning it to the side. This man didnt look too smart- he must not have been, considering he'd stopped for some food when obviously this scroll was supposed to reach the hands of the North Pole masters quickly. Perhaps it was fate, perhaps the messenger was just really incompetent, but the scroll was in his hands now. A smirk tugged on his lips as he made his way back to the dock, to his little boat. As he made his way over, the chained weapons on his side lightly rang, the piercings adorning his ears glittering under the sun's rays. "Better me than a boring old man, anyways," he commented as he hopped on his small boat, undoing the role that tied it to shore. It was hidden amongst the larger boats, obviously too small to hold more than one person and his goods. It was more for Jian's sake than anything- sure he had no one to take along on his journey, but if the boat had been any bigger, Jian would've had much more trouble sending it where he wanted to go. He was a genius, sure, but he was still just one person.

"Let's teach the pretty Avatar how to mess around, yeah."

His hands rose lightly, the water beneath him rocking his boat softly. Then, in a times rush, his hands rose, propelling his boat forward, shooting it ahead. The scroll directed him to his destination, and having passed the area twice before, Jian was pretty sure where he was supposed to be heading. The light boat swung to the side, surfing a wave that Jian had pulled up to make a sharp right. Soon enough, he spotted it.

As he neared the area, he slowed his boat down, the only noise he could hear being his chains, the wind against his sails, and the soft rush of the ocean. He suddenly felt rather guilty about not propping the messenger up or something- what if a cart ran over him? Jian dismissed the thought, countering with the fact that if the messenger hadnt been so open for attack in the first place, he'd never have been placed in a situation.

Jian stuffed another roll in his mouth as he docked his ship, his long sleeved black and white shirt spotted with water. He could've dried himself, sure, but why exert energy doing something that would happen without his interference anyways? He grabbed the bag he always took with him, filled with more food and cash than it did clothes, sure that if he left it in the boat, it'd be stolen and he'd look rather suspicious as a man come to train the Avatar for days at a time, yet not having bought anything. There was such a thing as being too minimalistic, after all.

He was greeted at the door by a maid, smiling at him. He was instantly irked by her appearance. Jian wasn't exactly sure why, but there was something about the maid that he simply didn't like. Perhaps it was because she was so obviously weary and yet wearing a smile? Yes, that must've been it. She could've at least done a better job at looking pleased with her position. "The name is Jian Menyao. I have come to train the Avatar." By now, he'd completely regretted stealing that scroll. The bread was nice, sure, but man. He hated teaching. The maid greeted him with a skeptical look at first, her eyes wandering over to his eye patch and then to the silver rings in his ears. Nonetheless, she bowed and greeted, "Welcome, Master Jian." She prattled on about something he didn't pay mind to, instead following her when she made to turn. He was led to his room- Not too shabby, he thought- and it was there he deposited his single bag. The chains on Yue rattled as he undid them, taking off his blades and setting them aside. Yes, it was slightly foolish of him to leave his weapons where they could probably be stolen, but he felt as though this would be much safer. After all, he didn't want to accidentally swing someone's head off.

"Now, if you'll pleaee follow me, I shall lead you to the others," said the maid. By now, the water droplets on his shirt had evaporated, leaving him as dry and presentable as he usually was- which is still not as presentable as he should've been. He followed her light footsteps with his own, he once more was filled with doubt. What would happen if he was caught? Surely the elder Masters of the other elements would find it suspicious that a young man of his age was present instead of someone else. Surely they'd find it curious that he was not dressed in traditional water tribe garb? He entered the training grounds, his eyes immediately wandering to two other persons present. Two young ladies! A laugh escaped his lips suddenly, shocking the maid who had opened the door for him.

"Youre pardoned," he said, a hand over his lips trying to stifle his laughter as the other hand shooed the maid away. He took to seating himself ways away, to watch the scene unfold, and to watch for others that walked through the door. He had a feeling that there were other liars among them, and another laugh weasled it's way out of his lips as he thought about how, if none of the little children here were actually masters of their elements, how fucking screwed the Avatar as well as the balance of the universe was. Shaking his head, Jian's laughter died down, a crooked grin still present on his face.

Rashe had been strolling along the streets of the small port town; he had been wandering around the brightly colored market section when he was approached by a man with a message. In a nuisance he was incapable of finding Fao Dezao and his hunt was pushed out of priority by his general interest in the Avatar. Everyone had heard of the Avatar and almost everyone had an opinion on him or almost everyone. Even in the mass sea of things he counted as being not worth his time the Avatar made a slight toe across the border. It wasn’t much but he held interest, and that was enough for Rashe to place his pursuit on temporary hold and train this new Avatar.

And now Rashe approached the entrance gates with an even pace, somewhat glad to be off of the boat that had carried him here. The trip had been nothing out of the ordinary, the waters had been calm and the ship had sailed smoothly not detaining from its course. The crew was all of six members and the passengers less than three, most of whom spent their time in the small hull of the ship. The journey had been safe, but completely uneventful. And now he had returned to his homeland of the Fire Nation. It had been a good few years since he last been here but nothing seemed very different yet. Not that there was any reason why it should.

Once inside he was greeted by a weary maid with a half-hearted smile. With a glance towards his sword she spoke. “You must be the weapon master. I will show you to your room.” A short walk later and he stood in a mostly bare room; obviously the more important individual would receive the nicer places to stay. “Thank you.” Regardless it didn’t matter; he looked around before tossing his travel sack into the corner, his sword he would continue to carry. “And if you would please follow me now, I will show you to the others.” A single nod and he followed her.

The room was rather large and there were already three others inside. The first he noticed was an interesting looking man with bright hair and an eye patch. He was sitting down and watching, based off a guess he would say the man was a water bender, but he wasn’t particularly certain. Across the room were two girls, one was a red-headed golden eyed woman who was evidently a fire bender. And the last one was slightly shorter than the other with long, well maintained hair, likely an air bender. She appeared to be comforting the other. Stepping to the side he leaned against the wall, so the Avatar wasn’t here yet?

With his bare feet planted firmly on the zoysia grass surrounding his log cabin Nitesh (meaning heartbeat of the earth) waits patiently for the sun to rise. Carelessly he looks up into the night sky admiring the stars while appreciating the cool breeze that is blowing from the east. From a distance he hears an owl screech while a symphony of chirping insects surrounds him making him feel a deep connection with the earth and he begins to hum softly to himself. Finally, as dawn arrives, the sun shoots brilliant rays of amber light across the night sky that begin to chase away the stars and conceal the moon. Nitesh digs his feet deeply into the earth grounding himself as he stares toward the horizon at the rising sun taking in every bit of its nourishing energy.

The sounds of night slowly fade into an echo as the area grows brighter exposing the muscular physique of Nitesh who is not wearing a shirt. His long brown hair hangs just below his broad shoulders and he holds up his hands towards the sun and screams aloud "Come and get me!” His skin is perfectly tanned and his greenish brown eyes are ever watchful as they soak up the suns rays. Time passes and having had enough he turns away from the sun and drops onto his knees grabbing a handful of dirt. "Give me strength” he tells mother earth as he lets the dirt fall between his fingertips. Slowly he rises brushing the dirt off his jeans and he heads back toward the cabin to pack his clothes for the long journey his is about to undertake.

Several days later Nitesh wearing a tan backpack finally arrives at Fire Nation to meet the new avatar. He is wearing a plain white t shirt that fails to hide his bulging muscles, plain blue jeans with a hole torn into the right knee, black boots covered in mud, and attached to his right arm is a compass. After getting directions from one of the local farmers Nitesh had no trouble finding the citadel where the avatars training will soon take place. Casually he strolls through the open cast iron gate toward the front door noticing some peculiar flowers along the way. He bangs on the front door then waits for a response with his arms crossed over his chest. Cautiously a maid opens the door “O I recognize you, you’re the earth bender. Please come in, come in.” She says as she beckons for him to enter by waiving her arm at him. “Hey, it’s great to finally be here” he says as he steps past her into the large building. “Follow me”says the maid as she leads Nitesh to his room the two of them conversing along the way about his travels.

“This is it” exclaims the maid with excitement as she pushes open his door. “What do you think?” “I don’t know, let me see” says Nitesh as he rushes past her enthusiastically and dives onto his bed messing up the covers. As he laughs and thrashes about the maid notices that his muddy boots are tracking dirt and she glances down the hall annoyed to see muddy foot prints leading all the way back to the front door that she will have to clean. Noticing her angry gaze Nitesh gets off the bed and apologies to the maid for dirtying her clean floor. “No worries” he says with a sly smile then he bends down placing his hands on the dirt. Using his abilities he attracts all the dirt he brought in and makes it move across the floor into his open hands where it forms itself into a small ball. “That’s amazing” yells the maid “If I could do that I’d finally be able to take a vacation!” The two of them laugh for a moment then the happy maid says “Cmon I’ll take you to the outdoor training courtyard where you can get rid of that dirt. We don’t want it ending up back on the floor.”

The maid opens one of the stained glass doors leading to the courtyard and as Nitesh walks past her he winks at her causing her to smile as she closes the door behind him. He lets the dirt ball roll out of his hands then watches it fall and break apart as it lands on the ground. Looking around Nitesh notices some people in the court yard, but he doesn’t see the Avatar. He walks over to a man leaning against the wall who is wielding a sword and he points toward the crying girl to his right and asks What’s going on over there?”

Jushin placed the picture of his Mother and Father in his bag then crossed his legs, Indian style, as he meditates. While meditating, he was too deep into it, he saw his Mother and Father, right in front of him. "Mother. Father." He jumped off his bed, running over towards them, giving them a big hug. "Son, I just want you to know that we are proud of you." His Mother spoke as she smiled up to her husband, his Father. "Sit, my child." His Father waved his hand dismissively over towards the bed, the trio of them sitting down together. "So, I was the Avatar this whole entire time and you guys didn't tell me?" His Father shook his head, his Mother let out a soft sigh. "Son, it's not that simple..." His Mother said, his Father raised his hand up to hush her as he spoke. "Son, you remember when I was training you? And how intense it was?" Jushin nodded as he rose a brow, biting his bottom lip. "Well, one night, I don't know if you remember or not but you Air bend." His Father spoke softly as Jushin eyes widened then his facial expression changed to confusion. "Father, you fought a Chi Blocker before..." He gulped before asking his next question. "How do you...?" At the moment a knock came across his door and that distracted him, and he lost focus, breaking the concentration.

"Your guests are starting to arrive." The maid spoke through the door. "They are not my guests." Jushin pouted once again as his door then opened up. He jumped off the bed, seeing that it was his Master. His Master wiggled his index finger and told him to follow him out towards the outdoor training courtyard. Jushin huffed and followed behind him. He was ruffling up his spiked hair as then made one more turn, that lead towards the training yard. Jushin frozed with fear. These are people that might be mean to him, or even worse, better than him. His Master stepped out first as he eyed every single individual. "Ah, my fellow benders and non-benders. I welcome you to the Fire Nation." He said in a cheery voice, his arms extended out by his side then brought back together. "You'll have to forgive, Jushin, he is a bit shy." His Master laughed as he turned around, Jushin was hidden in the shadows.

He stepped out, arms folded, an almost disgusted look placed upon his face. He eyed every single bender, even the male with the weaponry strapped to him, as a soft smile curved among his lips, after seeing the water bender. "Hello everyone, I am Jushin. The Avatar." He waved then looked over and seen Amber as he rose a brow. "Why is she here? I already know Firebending, even how to bend Lightening." His Master shrugged his shoulders then turned around and started walking away, Jushin let out a soft sigh then clapped his hands together while stepping out in the middle of the training yard. "Alright, so who is first?" He said while looking around at everyone, seeing who was going to step up to the plate and introduced themselves.

Amber stood up when she heard him say that. "Look Avatar. I have mastered Firebending and I have mastered Lightning Bending. I wouldn't be here if I wasn't needed" Amber stood across from him fire in her eyes the wind blowing through her red curly hair. "I bet you don't know the half on Lightning Bending like I do." She said putting her hands on her hips. She knew people would find her as rude but what do you expect from the strange firebender with fire colored hair. Amber looked at Jushin straight in the eyes. Her hair blew in the wind as she silently challenged the Avatar to see his firebending but mainly Lightning Bending.

Thoughts flew through her head. The last time she had ever stood in a place like this was her last day at bending school. Where Jushin was stood the headmaster, and Amber stood right where she was now wearing the same outfit she had on now; a red, one shoulder, short sleeve, crop top with gold lining and loose, red pants with gold lining and no shoes. The fight wet on forever but when he tried using lightning bending she surpassed his abilities and became the first one to beat him.

When Amber snapped back to reality she realized an eerie silence fell and she could see some maids and servants stopping and seeing what would happen. She smirked and looked at Jushin waiting for his reply.

Jian combed his fingers through his hair, his single eye watching the scene unfold. Two more had arrived after him, males that were young, so young in fact that the grin on his lips emerged once more. Were all these little kids really masters? That'd be bloody hilarious if they actually couldn't do much to help the Avatar. Was someone in th spirit world trying to mess the Avatar up? Then again, the fire bending avatar was also rather old for his training. He should've at least mastered his primary bending skill by now.

And, as he glanced up at the Avatar's appearance, it seems as though the precious baby thought the same way. The firebending lady that had earlier been coddled by a plain looking lady stepped up, an air of laughter escaping Jian's lips. She didn't even acknowledge the other girl! Just brushed her off! Well, wasn't Miss firebender a rude one? Leaning a hand to the ground, he pushed himself up, sick of looking at everyone else from below. Another chuckle escaped his lips when the female firebender retorted, her answer simply hilarious to Jian's ears. Was the little lady bragging? Aw! That was so bloody adorable! His eye wandered from the plain looking girl, to Miss Firebender, and then to the Avatar. For the later two, he felt as though some great problems would arise. Probably arguments about who was better that who, the fact that they were around the same age not being a problem.

For some reason, although Jian seemed but a few years or so older than the others, he believed himself to be much older, and therefore, much wiser. Of course, such a reaction was expected given Jian's cocky attitude- after all, would someone not ridiculously confident in their abilities have done something so crazy as to steal a very important message from a very important (though incompetent) messenger? And then, would they be so cocky as to think that they were suitable masters despite being half blind?

"Hey, I'm Jian Menyao,"" called out the blue haired pirate. Pointing to his face, which was currently wearing a grin, his eyes glittering under the light, he added, "How bout you play with me instead, if you're so intent on avoiding Miss Firebender over here?" He even silently promised to play nice, and by the rules. Of course, the promise was only silent in case he had to break it. Sure, Jian broke promises out loud practically every time he makes a promise, but that doesn't mean the Avatar had to know about that so quickly. Sheesh.

The arrival of three more teachers in the area didn't catch her attention as she was still worried about the silent woman in front of her. Perhaps that single tear she witnessed earlier was just out of drowsiness or something? She flushed a little in embarrassment and chided herself for being so nosy without making sure what business she was forcing herself into. A voice brought her out of her musings as she turned to look at the speaker. When the man introduced the Avatar, Diao almost gasped. 'Oh my spirits! Its the Avatar! she squealed in her mind, a huge grin breaking across her face. He was here! The harbinger of peace! The one that would uphold the balance of the universe! The gallant, powerful, righteous Avatar!

But then he stepped out of the shadows and her grin faltered. She did not mind his young age, but it was perhaps his facial expression that crushed her ideals a little. He was probably just having a bad day, that must be it. The forever sparkling Avatar image in her mind would still persist. When Junshin remarked on his bending, and the firebender beside Diao suddenly stood up, Diao quickly took a step back. Come to think of it, the woman hadn't replied to her inquiry earlier. Before the thought of being ignored processed into her mind, Diao already concluded that the redhead must have replied while she was busy in her excitement on the arrival of the Avatar. That was most likely the reason, Diao was sure of it.

At the redhead's reply to the Avatar, Diao looked between the two firebenders and giggled softly. Go figure it was the fire nation people that were getting things heated up so early. When another male voice had spoken up, Diao couldn't help but stare at the man's features. She had first thought that the firebender's crimson hair color was rare, but this guy's light blue was even moreso. And not to mention his piercings and eyepatch! How could he be a master at such a young age if he was half-blind - She quickly shook the thought out of her head. Appearances were always misleading and it was wrong to judge. She herself did not look like a master... but now that she noticed, even the two men by the side appeared young and not at all like the usual white-bearded and wrinkly master. Her gaze lingered at one of the men's huge sword for a second and she secretly prayed that the only person she'd be training with would be the Avatar.

Remembering that she was supposed to introduce herself, Diao quickly put her hands together and gave a quick bow to Junshin. "My name is Diao Meng. It is an honor to be your airbending teacher, Avatar." She smiled. "I pray that we all get along."
