Humans are the most populous race in Dacyria and harbor a wealth of diversity in ideas and appearance. Humans have a general consesnus that life is important and that murder and thievery is wrong, however they’re much more influenced by their association with organization than any ground principles.
The Natolians were born from the heavy radiation after the catacylsm; they developed an exoskeleton to protect themselves and survived because of it. Most Natolians were assimilated into the Union, however it is not uncommon to see them in the bandit lands. They are often much more conservative and bound to traditional values but are free from any code or religion unless they personally choose to follow one themselves.
Trait: High Resistance to Radiation
The Varusch are a strong and mostly unified race of ‘warriors’ brought to Dacyria. After the cataclysm they were a large part in rebuilding the bandit lands and were mostly rejected from civil society because of their easy temperment and die-hard affiliation with their religious leaders. The leaders themselves are independent from the bandit tribes but at their command can lead large portions their army. The zealous nature of the Varusch gives them great power in getting things done, however it often gets in the way of their creative interests and individuality.
Well Connected: Strong family relations that border on feudalistic.
The Zeluri were genetically-engineered supersoldiers created by the Zeltros as a means to replace the vast majority of the slave armies. Before this plan was in full motion, the cataclysm occurred and when most of the Zeltros on Dacyira died, the Zeluri were forgotten and any attempts to recover them were halted. Because of their training and conditioning, they eventually developed a War-based Society centering on the worship of the Zeltros as War Gods.
The Zeluri asexually reproduce by wrapping corpses in cacoons; the flesh of the host becomes altered to the genetic code and a 'clone' is made. Because each host is difference, every Zeluri doesn't look the same and takes on a minor change in format to the traces of DNA left from the cadaver. When the cacoon opens, the Zeluri are naturally made to be ready to be commanded. Without any 'parent faction' or 'parent' that commands them, they default to "kill all Valkuri soldiers". Since there are no Valkuri soldiers anymore, they're given a kalaidescope interpretation of this genetic command and either aim to murder every living thing or live as a rogue and selectively kill; this is determined by the amount of hostility it recieves by its first contacts with life.
The Zeluri are really half-baked supersoldiers, which essentially makes them normal soldiers with an edge. They are not effective at flying planes, operating heavy machinery or using technology, but are highly skilled at anything infantry related. Biologically they aren't the strongest race in Dacyira, but they make up for it in their agility and sheer numbers. In contrast however they are banned from civilizations such as Esamira, Cotil and the UNV and some bandit gangs, most specifically the Red Legion. Additionally, Zeluri speak gutterally, breaking down their ability to vocally express ideas and emotions.
The Fedorians once were an emerging power in their region of space. Ruling over a hundred star systems. They were far and safe from the Galactic War that waged between the Zeltros and Valkuri. However, they no longer remained obscure in the Galactic scene as the opposing forces slowly encroached into their fringe territories. They immediately acted and fired upon both sides. Their entry in the war was saddly short-lived as both Empires attacked from one side and another. Slowly conquering one world after another. The Fedorian Empire crumbled under their might, and many surrendered, offering their allegiance to both the Valkuri and Zeltros.
Fedorians are naturally stoic and often don armor or generally encumbering equipment as both a biological shortcoming and cultural expectation. Unlike some other races, they often feel more comfortable in restriction than free, which is also symbolic of their view on life.
The Cro are aggressive and physically powerful with a very fragmented sense of loyalty. This goes along with their ability to utilize their environment, constantly following a tribal concept of darwinism; however the struggle of dominance and submission makes the average Cro violently competitive, socially stunting them and culturally unapparent to equality.
The Cro are physically stronger in comparison to humans, often slightly taller and broader and their muscles develop must faster. They're more hormonally active which gives them an edge when it comes to adrenaline, but it also causes them serious self-control problems which are necessary in combat situations. In addition, the Cro also have a minor feat in night vision allowing them to be adaptable to the night time as well as day.
The Ragaru are a cold blooded reptilian race with ambiguous origins. They are often taller than 6 feet and over two-hundred pounds and can develop their muscles very quickly. Their skin is physically hard and difficult to penetrate, but their natural armor is difficult to maneuver in and reduces their flexibility. In addition, their size and bulk sometimes makes them unable to enter through doorways made for other species, as well as vehicles; they are unable to type on keyboards with their own fingers or put their fingers through a trigger guard if it's too small.
Socially they are usually outcast and misunderstood as monsters or brutes, but the biological imperative of stability often drives a more stoic, stable mindset; a popular ambition of the Ragaru is to find out whether or not their ancestors came from a test tube or the stars.
The Vespers are essential insectoids who are naturally scoundrels, cutthroats and otherwise shady personages. They're usually physically weak, but make up for it through being highly flexible; they have a unique ability to squeeze into small nooks and crannies.
Like insects, they have a faster regeneration rate; however they're much more fragile than other races. For the most part their organs are simply washed over in blood, but a much more complex biological system elevated them to a point of sapience. Because on their homeland they adapted to a carbon atmosphere, so they wear masks which burn oxygen. Carbon Dens are common households and meeting places for strictly Vesper-only gatherings and are usually where Vespers lay their eggs.
Vespers naturally cluster together despite the fact that they commonly undermine eachother. Once an unfriendly foreigner presents itself they usually scatter and go into isolation until the coast is clear.
A large, slow-moving, herbivorous species bred for cybernetic augmentation and clerical duty and brought to Dacyira. They may be strong and have an imposing stature, but their sluggish reaction speed makes them an easy foe without their artificial nerve pathways. After they were driven south by the UNV, their religious glorification of trade and personal success has helped them to build a large but barely-governed empire sprawling Dacyira.
Trait: Cyborg: Artificial Nerves
Denizens of the arctic seas of Dacyira, the Ahyef are squishy and amphibious that made many colonies and tribes beneath the ice in the frigid cold waters. Their lack of hands prevented them from using most of the alien technology that landed on the surface. They're a friendly and pleasant species that like to associate with other races, which has helped them adapt well to being conquered by Cotilans.
A race of diminutive technicians before the cataclysm, the Najmar quickly colonized the arctics of Dacyira, taking the icy surface while the Ahyef swam beneath them. They made great use of recovered technology, quickly inventing many convenient technologies like the protective suits their species have worn for generations. After discovering the Ahyef were intelligent, they formed an alliance and provided them with technology in exchange for minerals and fish. This friendship was a long and prosperous union until Cotilan land companies decided to make some sea ports out of their cities. They associate well within their own species, communicating through rapid high-pitched clicks, but tend to avoid other species. They'd be a powerful race, if they didn't have a stronger urge to run away than to fight.
Trait: Well Armed: Protective suits
The Dacyians are an amphibious species of humanoids that claim Dacyira as their indigenous land. The Dacyians themselves don't hold any nation themselves, but they do own numerous settlements across the bandit lands and prosper in these small communities. They've been subject to slavery through most of their history and are usually regarded as a lower race by a bigot of another.
The Dacyians emphatically believe that they are the original species to inhabit the planet, before the Valkuri and Zeltros. While there is no actual evidence regarding this, Dacyians come to believe it as a fact and often hold grudges against individuals who deny their claim.
In terms of their amphibious qualities, most Dacyians get an urge to spend some time under water, but they're fully equipped to remain on land.
