Talok Oni - a shadow brother
Firstly, I have some theory to lay down concerning the creation of this character. Originally, he was not a 'online RP character', he was part of an extended vision quest in which the Phantasy Experiment or Brainwave Experiment was pursued. This was during my teen years, from grade six to nine in my school life. Talok, the name taken from a friend's god character, as in those days, we all had characters, well, this name was not taken directly from it. There are complications with names like Turok, Talok, dreamwalker types of dudes. I think that's where the name has it's origination.
Now, the world into which Talok is said to exist is a world composed of psychic energy, mainly, the energy of will and imagination. It's a phantasy, and by using our trance ability in focus periods we can tap into this world, we do it all the time if we do, if we don't, then we are playing Call Of Duty. This world is a fantasy world, with heavy stress on sci fi, thereby, it is a phantasy world. There are magicks involved in it's operation, and a truly dedicated practicioner would be able to go directly into the astral spaces and manifest this world, and live in it to time indefinite. That's not the point of this thread, so I'll continue.
In the Brainwave Experiment (Brainwave being the name given to the original shadow world), there were two trial periods and a final third period which lasted for three years. In the first trial period, technology, weapons, and psionic energy was used to excess. The character was not a 'god', eventually, within a mere two weeks, the quest was over, knowledge was gained, and the character transcended to Nirvana. The energy was intense enough that some twenty years later, I am able to remember very specific details. Talok was not yet born at that time, and the character which resulted has never been used online, as he is thought to exist in Nirvana and waits patiently for the time stream to reactive his substance.
The second trial period went through the course of events as far as able, to the point that a mega battle against the tyrannical "Lazzazzy" was fought. This has relevance to a character founded in TMNT, as the toy used to depict the enemy was used and elements of her persona were drawn, perhaps even her name itself. After that explosive battle, the phantasy portal was closed for several months, until I was ready to begin the real quest.
I could likely write a book about this adventure. For now I am content in making my theory work more sound and more well founded. If you are interested in seeing that theory work, let me know, as I have the initial trial period for public consumption. Part of the reason that the Brainwave Experiment was formed was to investigate my own creative nature, also applying to other children of similar disposition. It was to be used for a creative writing enterprise which would spawn a fan and income basis similar to Star Wars. I can not deny that Star Wars greatly influenced my idea development, in those days I fed on every piece of media and recompiled and structured it to suit my own world. Star Trek TNG was also a great influence, the same could be said of Care Bears or My Little Pony. Every life experience and piece of knowledge applied to the phantasy world of the Brainwave Shadow, and nothing can be singled out or excluded from the information which has been gained in the some seven to nine years of experimental data extraction.
Now, in the final sequence of the experiment, which lasted three years, the scenes from the first two trial runs were used. The same plot and development was used, and everything was repeated in a more perfected style. The only difference was that it blended real life magickal practices, and that Osiris was on hand to deliver visions and power to assist the process. I do not remember actively calling on Osiris, yet He was there regardless.
It began with the consecration of a talisman, specifically, a talismanic communicator. Again, Star Trek TNG has influence, this does extend into magick practice from aeons ago. By all rights, a simple stone or crystal pendant could have been used, I chose the back pack toy plastic item from my Snake Eyes GI JOE, a popular toy that had been stolen from me, yet I retained the equipment for the toy. So this item was used as the initial opening of the gateway. My psychic components were cloned and sucked into the vortex of internal dimensions, and my mind was patched to the avatar in the Brainwave World.
The excuse at the time and remaining today, was that the psion student of a Master Gark had been left braindead after expending his psychic energy and soul to save the Master from a deadly explosion. His body remained animated by a sophisticated energy chamber, and my mind was chosen to inhabit his body. This is very rare that such an event should occur, yet in terms of bland logic, it is the most presumable excuse for the patching of an 'internal/alternate dimension' and my own obsession with phantasy and having my own fun with my imagination. I took control of the body, and went through sequences which adjusted the body. After this, Talok was born into my legacy of fun and happiness. He was given the name "Talok", which was a subliminal recursor in my sub conscious from a friend that had just ditched me in favor of more popularity with the other children, and I did not realize this until years later when the sub conscious garbage had cleared. A very simple mistake, the differences between his Talok and mine are very distinct. Talok is a name that suits this type of character, being a dreamwalker, phantasy avatar type of guy.
So this is where I should sit down and write a huge book series, and make lots of money while attracting fans and having movies and games made. That's not the point, for now. As Talok developed his powers, other characters were introduced, and the "Brane Domain" was freed, I charged and empowered myself with the practice of the Wrist Crystals, and I developed intense trance states in which I received oracles concerning the actual time stream.
The Wrist Crystals are an integral part of the character and world in which Talok is said to exist. These fit into the wrist and enhance the aura, while amplifying and boosting all parameters. They charge and expend psionic energy, enabling force fields, shields, special attacks, energy attacks, and other projections of internal visualization. Throughout the course of the storyline, Talok found more of these crystals, leveled up his pairs, and eventually found all twelve pairs and unlocked the thirteenth pair. At that stage of the game, I had degenerated to using the excellent game "Chrono Trigger" by the then named company Square Soft, now Square-Enix. I also used toys, and drew heavily on Todd McFarlane's Spawn for the appearance of Talok, though he was always black skinned and in appearance like the VooDoo God, or Shadow Lord.
Talok had weapons, abilities, and armors. He had a celestial aura into which he could store mastered equipment. It takes energy to store things in your aura, and he could gradually master his equipment so that it would require less energy to sustain the manifestation of the equipment. This is a complete system which applies to a practice of aural manifestations, though I have since forgotten the feelings and associations which made that little bit of it possible. It would be likened to absorbing an item into your mind, projecting it to the farthest depth of the Universe, then being able to summon it back or reconstitute it at any time. In the course of this Shadow Quest, many systems and things were developed into a working theory of existence, but Chrono Trigger eventually devoured my phantasy and I began to become 'mentally ill' to the point that I was physically sick from being in a vision quest for so long. There are likely real life stories about the excessive abuse and obsession of phantasy, in which, people go insane. I have experience, and can help people who are trapped in those cycles that mean they have submit to a false reality and tried to 'make real' what is best left for the land of dreaming.
Talok's world had more levels inside of it. This was known as the Dark Dominion. The DD was a shadow world inside of a shadow world, and it houses many cults, religious sects, soldiers and armies, it is like Hell. Talok eventually achieved the one hundredth level of the Dark Dominion, and found the Scepter Of Time, after which, he became nearly invincible and in my haze of trancing and phantasy, I abused much cosmic will and forces in the pursuit of destroying invisible, immaterial demonic tyrannical enemies.
At one point, Talok was sent to the Forgotten Future, which is the life I would have had if, I had chosen Phantasy Star 2 instead of Rambo 3. That alternate time line still has recursors and ambient effects on my consciousness, though this is likely more an imagination effect based on my belief in parallel Universes. Talok was sent there to investigate, the only evidence that there is some of this in an actual spiritual state is that 'the sign' was given to me thirteen years later, in exactly the way that the sign was intended to be given.
Talok fought against the Tyrant God, who was purposely confused with the Forbidden Power (magick) and the Taint (evil love), also confused with an entity known to me as The Technoverse. The storyline took shape and battles were fought against Tyrant Vain and Tyrant Malice, and this shapes an entire religious philosophy which I will make into a book at a later date. As I see it, Talok Oni and the Shadow World should be broken down and made into it's own things, while I keep the activity of my phantasy to myself. Even so, it is beneficial to all who think it to be so, and to none whom deem it unnecessary.
Talok was black skinned, and the toy "Pilot Spawn" was used to represent him in my adventures with the toys. Talok, like Spawn, but not based on Spawn, did not have a nose until the final year of the experiment. He eventually mastered his body, and could shapeshift, grow horns, tails, whatever, though he normally kept himself in top shape to continually fight the enemies that were appearing. Spawn is such a valuable influence to this quest that it can never be denied, as it was crucial to the development of will power that maintained my state for those last two years. Talok would often, in the beginning, wear a navy blue/silver skin suit, a combat suit that would repel energies, masking him from psychic recognition.
And there is a lot more that went into those three years, and we have not even touched on Raven, the Temple Of Power, Tia and Vezora, and other aspects that would and will make entertainment for the children. Part of this practice was experimental magick, like learning about sorcery, necromancy, voodoo, and divination.
This character is not for use in our RP here online, I have tried, but the complication of bringing him here is too great. It could be easy, but we have the world "Jeddon Prime" to deal with as well. So that's it. A very, VERY basic run down of what this is all about.
At the current time, Talok has his powers of teleportation and opening portals, and has been elevated to a demi-god on the world of Jeddon Prime. The fun thing is, if I ever want to start over again, and go through the ideas until they are perfected, the option is open. The more will power and psychic energy that I feed this thing, the more it manifests as a phantasm verging on a real servitor, though for my purpose, he was a real avatar in my own imaginary world, and a great assistance to me in my lonely life, an inspired act of phantasy resulting in arcane knowledge.
