Figured something was up when Orks was spelled wrong.
Thought the reference was used in more places.

Orc is the spelling from D&D style works who feared reprisal from the estate of Tolkien. It's also the reason for the name "Halfling" in such works. If they out and out called them "Hobbits" there would have been hell to pay.

No fear of reprisal, out and out lawsuit for infringement of intellectual properties. In some of the earliest works, pre red-box set, they were called hobbits and so Gygax got a cease and desist order pending legal action on all future printings. It was later revised in the 'white box' set.

Not a bad set up at all to get all of our characters there, I'm guessing that it is assumed we're already part of the caravan and simply meeting up so we can all move out together then.
