They are indeed great for practice, and the reviews people give tend to be quite helpful and constructive. Even if you have no real interest in winning the contest, it can't hurt to enter and get some unbiased reviews. I know they helped me realize some problems with my own writing and got me on the path toward fixing them. I'm THIS close to finishing it, and now time caught up to me. Sleepfollowed by work means I just don't have the oopurtunity to finish it.

Submissions are allowed until midnight of the 5th (with a bit of lenience on that point, but not enough to count on) Pacific Standard Time. It's currently 2PM PST of the 4th, so you've got ~34 hours until submissions close.
If you've got time after your sleeping and working you might still able to finish and get it in. If not, that's too bad. There's always next time.

I should get back into that, so my apologies on the confusion.
