Argh, gee. I cannot find the original files. I wanted to find my proof before agreeing to something like that. Though, yes. It was a ridiculous sum of words, and the long story was never finished because I suddenly stopped writing in the middle of the final battle asking "Why the hell am I still writing?" and then I cut away the entire ending scene (which was too long for its own good), kept the few details that I needed and stripped the rest of the story to mere bones. It was still the same story, and I was just amazed that I had been able to compile it into something I could actually send in. That it won I was simply... um... amazed by. Really.

Ah, well that's still massive. I think the fact that you managed to trim it down alone was a highly impressive feat.

WOTM #26 Guidelines thread is up! This month's theme is Evil Wins! Let's see those entries!!

    This.

I had trouble trimming down from 4000.

Can't wait to see you compete! Perhaps you could poke your head into this month's Voting Threads?

Oh, I will. It will be interesting to see what people did with those components. I actually glad I'm not using them. That looked a little too abstract for me.

Lots of thanks to Mayhem for the Sig.

Well you're only ever required to use two components max, you know. And a minimum requirement of one. I don't think it should be too hard to utilize just one of those components in a story.

You mean you're not allowed to use more than two?

No no, you're perfectly welcome to use more than two if you choose to, I'm just saying it's not mandatory to use all five. Your post seemed to imply you thought it was necessary to use all five.

Yeah, I can see that. I just meant that no one really appealed to me. All five were abstract and I don't think I could have built a story around them.

Lots of thanks to Mayhem for the Sig.
