Hugh is a very left brained logical thinker and he has over time learned to suppress his emotions. He is very motivated to achieve whatever goals he sets for himself and he strives for perfection in everything he does. He is not as social as most people and finds himself unable to connect with and form strong bonds toward the people he typically encounters. If things don’t go his way Hugh tends to get frustrated fairly quickly and has trouble performing tasks that require him to exercise patience. Hugh is extremely intelligent and he typically uses that to his advantage to outsmart and manipulate the people around him that he perceives as inferior or weak.

Hugh has short brown hair and dark green eyes. His height is an average 5’8, but he is far to skinny because he only weighs 180 pounds little of it being muscle. He is clean shaven with no facial hair and while he is not unattractive most people upon seeing him think he looks peculiar. His lack of social skills makes him stand out and the way he moves is often seen as clumsy. He wears a bright yellow hazmat suit with an orange face mask signaling that he is one of the research scientists.
Background Info:
Hugh had an average childhood spending most of his free time studying and reading books. Having few friends he did adopt some sociopath tendencies like killing and dissecting animals, but he did not do it because he enjoyed making the animals suffer. He did it because he was fascinated with their biology and as a youth he was constantly taking things apart and putting them back together to see how they worked. That is of course until he took apart his fathers car engine at the age of 13 and received tremendous amounts of punishment like being forced to play baseball which he hated then and despises even to this day.

Being from New York Hugh went to Columbian university, but after receiving his B.A. he moved to Cambridge Massachusetts where he attended Harvard University. After many years of intense studying he received his Doctorate of Science specializing in microbiology. Hugh was recruited into a special branch of the C.I.A. that deals with bioterrorism, chemical warfare, infectious disease control and specialized quarantine procedures. Up until this point all of Hugh’s work has been done strictly in the laboratory setting and his assignment to the Carnival Splendor is his first field mission. The details of his mission are highly classified as his security status is deemed high. The “suits” consider Hugh to be a very important person and because he has no weapons training they will protect him at all costs.
