He doesn't like harming civilians, but sees it as a necessary course of action if they get in the way of stopping the disease. Evan is quite intelligent, and has a great respect for order, the chain of command, etc.

Background Info: A relatively smart kid who loved biology and the military, Evan applied for a position in the military reserve once he 16 for a part time job. He came to love the military life, and eventually specialized as a hazmat technician. He was quite successful in his missions dealing with biological and chemical emergencies within Canada, and gained the respect of most people on his team. Currently a Master Corporeal when the plague broke out on the ship, the Canadian government joined a joint operation to assist in dealing with the disease. He was one of the few who volunteered to go.
