    Avatar: The Legend of Kya ::Reboot:: [OoC]

    Collaborations!
    IC Thread

    Fire Lord Sozin has long since noticed the prosperity and peace that has befallen the Fire Nation and swells with pride. He believes that this prosperity and peace should be shared with the rest of the world: By expanding the Fire Nation. Of course, Avatar Roku strongly opposed this idea and refused to help him. Several years later, however, Roku discovered that Sozin had set up colonies in the Earth Kingdom and came to rebuke him, leading Sozin to attack him. The two engaged in a battle, with Roku finally destroying most of the palace and defeating Sozin. Roku spared his life because of their past friendship, but warned him never to move forward with his plans again, or it would result in his "permanent end".

    Twenty-five years later, Roku's home island was consumed in a volcanic eruption so massive that Sozin could see and feel it from a hundred miles away. The Fire Lord flew in on his dragon to assist his old friend. The two used their bending to try to contain the lava flow, but were hindered by poisonous gases, which eventually overwhelmed Roku, leaving him lying on the ground and begging for his old friend's help. Sozin suddenly realized, however, that Roku's death would allow him to fulfill his plans, and left his old friend to die along with his dragon, Fang.

    Twelve years after Roku died, Sozin used the power of a comet to enhance the power of his firebender army and launched a genocidal attack on the Air Nomads in an attempt to kill Aang, the new Avatar, and halt the Avatar Cycle. Aang was not yet aware of his Avatar status and he never ran away. Like the rest of the Airbenders that lived in the temples, he was killed. Fortunately, that was not the end of the Avatar Cycle - Unknown to Sozin, the Avatar must be killed while in the Avatar State.

    Without the Avatar around, the Fire Nation paved the way to leading the world into despair, beginning to expand around the world and taking over various places in other Nations. The world had lost hope that the Avatar would ever reincarnate and many had begun to buckle and submit to the whims of the brutal Fire Nation.

    But not all of them.

    The Order of the White Lotus is an ancient and formerly secret society that transcends the boundaries of the four nations, seeking philosophy, beauty, and truth. They are devoted to the sharing of ancient knowledge across national and political divides. The Order's main purpose is to find each new Avatar, see to his or her training, and provide protection.
    Formed centuries ago by the wisest scholars from all over the world, the Order began as a club where these ancient masters could challenge one another on the Pai Sho table. They derived their name from the white lotus tile used in Pai Sho, a key element in their strategy. They communicate membership through the game by placing Pai Sho tiles on the board in a specific manner, forming a bloomed lotus bud with the lotus chip in the center. Now, in the world's most desperate time of need, they seek out the Avatar with the intent of having their apprentices teach and protect the Avatar - The Masters within the Order most are getting ripe in their years and some even hold political stances. If they were to teach the Avatar, they would be spotted immediately.

    The Avatar reincarnated in a young Water Tribe girl of the Northern Water Tribe five years later - Kya. After receiving a note from Master Waterbender in the North Pole, the apprentices have gone off to find this so-called Avatar.

    Cast

    Rules:

    1: No Canon Characters - Only Original Characters. Be creative when making them

    1.5: Be active. If you don't let me know that you're gonna be gone for a while, I'm gonna eradicate your character after 3 days of no activity IC or OoC. If you need to be gone, feel free to let another player take over your character until your return OR use IC to send them on a "personal mission".

    2: Your characters won't start off as Masters, but close to it - Give them room to grow and learn more as well.

    2.5: There are 6 5 roles available. They are listed under cast. I'm not adding any more and I'm not taking any away. This is meant to be a small group RolePlay. So don't waste your time with an antagonist CS or harassing my inbox with all the reasons why you think there should be antagonist roles available.

    3: No shipping on the Out of Character thread. (Its moronic and rides my nerves. =_='')

    4:No you can't have the Avatar's Role

    5: No Dual-Bending.

    5.5: No Bloodbending. I see it as Powerplaying and a bit Godmoding no matter how weak it makes your character after use not to mention the fact that only one person knew how to do it before Katara. So. No.

    6: Romance is allowed and encouraged. Just no "BAM!" Love at first sight, let's get married. A crush at first sight is fine.

    7: Swearing is allowed. Just don't go overboard.

    8: The Cinderblock rule is enforced: If you or your character becomes detrimental to the story or OoC or you become overly inactive, you will be promptly eradicated from the Roleplay. End of Story.

    9: GM's Word is LAW.

    10: Yes, this is a +mature+ Avatar spin-off, but please don't spend forever posting sex scenes. I don't want you and someone else spamming the IC with your sex. If two characters are about to get intimate, do a collaboration post. If you plan on posting it on the IC thread, limit it to heavy kissing, touching, groping, and the suchlike. If sex becomes imminent, fade to black and feel free to take that part of the scene to a PM while hinting in your next posts at the events.

    11: Have fun.

    12: Feel free to pitch "Episode" ideas.

    13: Don't "speed post". If you want to do 1x1 character interaction/dialogue with someone, do a collaboration post. There should be at least one post from the other players between each of your posts. - This is not a race. Give everyone a chance to reply!

    13.5: No one or two liners. At least 2+ paragraphs of detail. And make sure to read everyone's post prior to yours and reply to anything that applies to/affects your character. I don't want to get complaints that someone wasn't paying attention. When you post, don't do a group of short sentences.

    14: No Mary-Sues or Gary-Stus! Your characters will have some sort of flaws.

    FAQ

    "Miss GM! Oh, Miss GM! If Sozin successfully carried out the mass genocide upon the Air Temples and killed all of the Airbenders there, how is there an Airbender and his/her apprentice?
    Great question! As stated: Sozin killed the Airbenders that lived in the temples. I leave it to creative minds such as your own to give detail on how there might have been a family of Airbenders that lived away from the Temples and lived elsewhere. Perhaps even with the royal family of Omashu? I don't know. That's your choice.

    "Miss GM! Oh, Miss GM! How are the apprentices picked?"
    Well, the Masters would pick their apprentices based on potential to be Masters. The story of how they were picked and where they met is yours to choose.

    "Well, would they know each other?"
    They would know each other, but not intensely so, seeing as each Master is from a different Nation. They may have had previous brief meetings. But this journey to the North Pole will be their first time being together as a group.

    "In the beginning, you say that they'll be heading to the North Pole after receiving notes about Kya. Could you elaborate on that?"
    What I have in mind is that for the past [insert the amount of years they've been training with their Master here] years, they've been living with their Master, training. Their Masters have been passing on the arts of their trade to these kids and instating them into the Order of the White Lotus. They've been taught since day 1 the values and duties of the White Lotus, instilling them with morals of justice and philosophy. Master Jokka of the Northern Water Tribe will be the one to have discovered Kya and will have sent secret letters to the other four Masters to let them know that the Avatar has finally reincarnated. The Masters would then send their apprentices to the North Pole to meet the Avatar before they would begin their Journey.

    "Would a character from a Water Tribe and the Avatar know each other?"
    Another great question! Well, if one of the non-benders are of the Water Tribes, then yes. If he/she is from the Southern Tribe, they would know (of) Kya. If he/she was of the Northern Tribe, it would be possible for them to have grown up and trained together and might possibly be friends. Or related to one another.

    "One more thing! If Players aren't allowed to create antagonist OCs, then where are we gettin the bad guys? You know a story is no good without bad guys!"
    I thought you might ask that. I've been in many RolePlays where Players are allowed a single thread among thousands to conduct their entire RolePlay. Within these single threads, I've seen players create antagonists that would do nothing but hinder the character development of all other characters and simply say "That's what my character's supposed to do.". I see it as protecting my RolePlay. The antagonists will be GM and Co-GM controlled characters that may also have been created by the players. Yes. The players are allowed give ideas of antagonists and it is the GM and Co-GM's job to bring those to life and give the story more spice.

    If you have anymore questions, please ask me and I'll add them to our lovely 'FAQ'.

    Li Sheng

    ”Anything is possible, even the impossible!”

    Name;; Li Sheng

    Nicknames;; The Rogue of Omashu, Rocky, The Walking Earthquake

    Age;; 19

    Gender;; Male

    Sexuality;; Heterosexual

    Role;; Earthbending Master

    Primary Element;; Earth

    Hair Color Length and Style;; He has semi-medium length brown hair which is messily displayed across his head, with no sign of rhythm or orderliness.

    Eye Color and Shape;; Li has semi-large, bright, brown eyes. Anyone who were to look at them would say they are filled with color and light, much reflective of the person.

    Facial Structure;; Li has a slightly long face and a somewhat thin nose. He has high, slightly sharp cheekbones, and medium-sized ears, and thin lips. His face is rough, mostly from all the activity surrounding he he does.

    Complexion;; He has slightly tanned skin which is, for the most part, without blemishes. Though he has a few scars across his arms, chest and on along the left side of his neck, mostly from the many fights he had partaken in during his life. His skin is usually fairly rough, mostly from all the activity he does.

    Height and Weight;; He is an adequately sized male standing at approximately 5’10” (152 cm), and weighing 165 pounds (77kg).

    Body Type;; Li’s natural body type had always been fairly skinny, but his recent years of strenuous activities has developed his physique to a leaner, well-proportioned one, causing him to become physically stronger.

    Voice;; A bit like Jet from the Avatar the Last Airbender Series, although a bit more louder and more 'excited'.

    Theme song;; Go Time by Mark Petrie

    Potential Interest;; (Waiting for characters)

    Equipment and Personal Artifacts;; Li always has his signature goggles on his head, which he got when he visited Si Wong Desert.

    Other;;
    • Li has been all across the Earth Kingdom, and has multiple friends and allies he met along the way, but also quite a bit of enemies as well.
    • Li is left-handed.
    • Li has a bounty in a few towns placed by some people, mostly for destruction of property.

    Likes;;
    • Adventure: Or the idea of adventure, Li is a fan of going to new places and meeting new people. He loves the idea of being able to go wherever one wants, and not being told what to do.
    • The sky (flying): Li has always been fascinated with the sky above his head. He had on a few occasions wished he would be able to go there, to be able to fly.
    • Fighting: Li loves to fight, never one to back away from a fight, and often not giving up until either his opponent or himself is defeated.
    • Animals: A big fan of all kinds.

    Dislikes;;
    • Confinement: Being caged or trapped, especially in small spaces with no means of escape. It is one of Li's greatest dislikes, and fears, the idea of being cages for long periods of time.
    • Being directly told what to do: He hates the idea of anybody having too much influence over his life and what he wants to do. Even if its something he would want to do anyways, he doesn't like being told what he should and should not do.
    • Repetition: Doing something over and over would make Li very bored.
    • Certain types of people: Includes people who cry too much, people who think they're better than everyone else, people who bring intentional harm to innocents, and people who he would define as being "flat-out boring".

    Habits;;
    • During a long lecture or a large explanation, usually anything over a certain amount of time that requires Li to listen for that period, Li has developed a bad habit of getting easily distracted during such proceedings, often trying to escape them, and if unable to get out of them, sometimes daydreaming, or falling asleep.
    • Li has a bad habit of forgetfulness, especially with names of people. This usually applies to people he doesn't find very interesting or who have no outlying or interesting features or characteristics.
    • Li never was an extremely clean person, but often makes sure his goggles are at tip-top shape. He also often grabs hold of them, whenever he is thinking about something deeply. He also puts them on when in combat, or about to do something he knows he's going to enjoy.

    Strengths;;
    • Excellent at close-range combat. His 'all-out' approach to fighting makes him deadly up close, often leading to enemies being quickly defeated. Also very physically capable.
    • Earthbending. If Li isn't a master in Earthbending, he's very close to it.
    • High amount of energy and stamina.
    • Usually very friendly towards many people, and very sociable.

    Weaknesses;;
    • Li's all-out approach to fighting can be deadly, but also inefficient, especially against opponents who relying on wearing out an opponent before fighting them. Although Li still has high stamina, he tends to burn it at a very high rate. Li has since established his own style with that taught by his master, but the style he employs is still very inefficient in a prolonged fight.
    • No sense of strategy or tactics in combat. Focuses on bringing down an opponent in any way possible, usually in a frontal approach.
    • Although very sociable, Li is quite blunt, even if he doesn't realize (or mean to be), often leading to some people being offended.
    • Li is very reckless, both in and out of combat, often not seeing the consequences of his actions.
    • Stubbornness: Li is often very stubborn when it comes to certain things. When he begins something, he usually intends to finish it, no matter what.

    Personality;; Li had always been carefree and superficially light-hearted, but also quite stubborn and reckless. He is constantly seen with a smile on his face, and approaches many aspects of his life with the same carefree and cheery persona. It is to that end that he often tends not to worry about things, no matter the situation. He instead does whatever he wants, and let things play out afterwards, expecting the situation to resolve itself (which it seldom does). Whatever circumstance he comes across, he gets through it with a positive attitude, often using the occasional joke or words of encouragement to lighten the mood. He tries his best to never depart from this persona, no matter how dreadful or appalling certain situation may be. Li is not the leader type, He never enjoys the spotlight on him, as he believes it adds pressure to him that he just doesn’t want, and doesn’t much care for. For that matter, he often avoids situations where large pressure is put on him.

    It wouldn’t be a stretch to say that Li is adventurous, willing to try many new things. Throughout his travels, it was characteristic of him to initiate conversation with complete strangers out of the blue, or participate in events or go places others might find bizarre. He usually does these things without thinking about them beforehand, believing planning for such things takes away part of the fun in them. Li is also extremely stubborn. When he sets his mind on something, whether going to a certain place or doing a certain action, he intends to follow through with it, not caring (or perhaps not considering) for the consequences of what he does. This also applies to his bluntness, which is often exhibited. He often speaks whatever is on his mind (although most of the time coming off rather positive), which on some occasions might be seen as insensitive. He also tends never to back down from anything, often leading to him being provoked into frequent fights. It was often that inflexible attitude that earned him disdain from his peers and landed him in trouble on innumerable occurrences.

    Li is also remarkably reckless. Whether in battle or outside it, Li tends to leave his mark almost everywhere he goes. His motto of doing first and thinking about it later has led to unintentional, yet countless accounts of broken belongings, damaged property (sometimes minor, but more often extensive), and ever so often injured people. To top it all off, Li is frequently unaware of the damage he causes, but if he does realize it, he tries his best to correct his mistakes (although they usually never make up for the damage originally caused). In combat, Li becomes even more reckless, often abandoning all strategy and tactic for the simple mission of taking down the opponent until they yield or are defeated (though he would never kill them). He would usually charge an opponent without thinking of consequences and using an all-out offensive assault to bring them down. Because of this, he tends not to be a good team fighter. He would often protect those that he believes can’t protect themselves, especially children.

    Brief History;; Li was born in the Earth Kingdom city of Omashu, as a son of a family of merchants. His father and mother headed a shop in Omashu, which dealt mostly in selling produce of some sort. Li was raised here and taught to work in the shop, his family believing that he would grow up to one day take over the job as the head of the shop.

    But Li never liked the work. Sure he would do it to help his family get by, but Li always had his head in the clouds, dreaming of doing so much more. He hated the idea of being confined to Omashu, wanted to do much more, including exploring the world. Still, Li had to deal with what he had, so he would find many ways to have fun in Omashu, including inventing games with his friends, and doing all sorts of activities in town that were often frowned upon. Even among his friends, Li was always the one pushing the boundary of what could and couldn't be done. He hated being told when he was allowed to do something, or when it was simply impossible to do. That would have only caused him to try to do it anyways. Because of things like this, he often found himself in trouble with authorities in town, and with his parents. His parents always wondered why he had turned out to be such a person, but they would never know.

    One day when Li was 15, Li's uncle was in town, and offered one of the members of the family to help him sell his cabbages to other parts of the world. Li, having always wanted to see the outside world, immediately agreed, figuring he could use the excuse of selling cabbages as an excuse. His parents and authorities were happy to send him away, figuring thus was a chance for things to quiet down around Omashu. Li went to many destinations with his uncle, and saw many things, but the most significant for him was Si Wong Desert. While over there, Li and his uncle ended up getting lost in the desert. A group of Sandbenders had spotted them and intended to rob them of all of their possessions, but just at that moment, another, smaller group of sandbenders came and drove them away. The leader of the second group, a man named Chao was one of the most talented sandbenders Li had ever seen. While staying around the area as his uncle, Li hung out a lot with Chao and other sandbenders. They became good friends, Li deeply enjoying their lifestyle. He even got a chance to learn to use a sand-sailer. However, the time came for Li to eventually have to leave back home with his uncle. Before they left, Chao gave Li his goggles, so that he always remembers the fun and good times he had there. Li would carry around the goggles always, and would never forget about the fun he had.

    Li soon returned to Omashu, and discovered he was an earthbender soon after. Li quickly got a hang on his new ability, and developed it at an extraordinary rate. He was self-taught, so his style of earthbender was unique from most others, who were in some way taught. It was also a bit more reckless and unorthodox. Still, as he began developing his skills more and more, he had grown into quite an impressive earthbender, and then into one of the best Earthbenders in Omashu. Li began taking jobs related to his earthbender around the city, and even in cities nearby. He eventually left Omashu completely to take jobs all across the Earth Kingdom. He took jobs as a guard, an escort, a volunteer for the army, and many more. He also worked on a few occasions as a sort of vigilante in some cities during his stay. He was lauded for his skill, power, and dependability, but also criticized for his recklessness, irresponsibility, and boldness. Li had began to get quite a reputation around the Earth Kingdom for his earthbending skills. His name carries much weight in many parts, some holding him in very high respect, while others find him a menace, troublemaker, and threat. However he is looked at, he is now very well known, especially in the Earth Kingdom.

    One day, as he was relaxing in a tavern after a successful job, Li was approached by an old man who wanted to invite him into something secret. Li was intrigued by this, always willing to try new things, and accepted, even with limited explanations at the time. At first, the whole thing seemed rather dull to Li. The game of Pai Sho was taught to him, and Li thought he was supposed to make something out of it, but nothing ever came. He soon became impatient about it and considered leaving, but the old man convinced him to be patient and wait. Li did something unlike himself and decided to do so, hoping that it would be worth it. He was suddenly flung into the world of the White Lotus, and its order. It was intriguing for Li, being apart of such a thing, and Li learned much in the order, much he had never bothered to know or understand before. It was then that it was revealed that the White Lotus had picked him to become an apprentice, with the potential to be a master of his bending, and one day teach the Avatar. Li accepted, but under much deliberation, and under certain conditions, including that they wouldn't be teaching and training in any one location, but still move around the world as they trained, so that Li could continue to see the world and explore new places, while also under the tutelage of his new master. With his master, he began his training. Although he had an established style of earthbending to his own, Li had to learn to incorporate his own self-taught style with the master's own one. It was a difficult transfusion, but eventually, with the combination of his own unique style, and the basics and fundamentals the master taught him, Li was beginning to become an even more refined Earthbender, and established a unique style that was not only more efficient, but also more easy to be taught.

    Posting Example;;
    "You're crazy, Li!" A young boy named Shu said to him, as Li stood close to the edge of a cliff. The cliff overlooked the ocean, but directly below at the bottom was where Li was interested in. Sharp rocks were poking out of the top of the water, making their presence known to them all. For years, the local kids would try to see who would jump the cliff. It was a sort of dare, something everyone talked about doing but no one did. The parents all said they shouldn't. They said it was too dangerous. They said it was impossible.

    A group of boys were also behind him, half of them seeing if he would actually go through with this, while the other half came to try and talk him out of it.

    "Yea, come on, Li! Let's just go home. It's not worth it." Li took another step towards the edge of the canyon, taking a look down to scope just how far he's have to go. There were too many rocks directly below, but after a meter forward, they dispersed a bit more. If he wanted to avoid them, he'd have to take a running jump to try to get as far from the cliff as he could.

    Shu stepped forward to him. "Li...please. We don't wanna see you get hurt. This is impossible!"

    Li turned to Shu. "Who says?"

    "What?"

    "Who says its impossible?" Li asked the other boy, now crossing his arms, waiting for an answer.

    "Well...err...everyone! Everyone says so! Come on, Li, let's go. We can go play on the mail slides in Omash-"

    "You mean..." Li began, putting on his goggles over his eyes. "...everyone who never did it."

    "What? But...nobody every did it!"

    "Well maybe nobody every did it because nobody ever tried!" Li said with a smile. He then turned back to the cliff, took a few steps back, and made a running start at it, while hearing the cheers and screams of the kids behind, some of them ushering him on, others begging him to stop. He reached the edge of the cliff now, and pushing off with his left leg, leaped forward. There was a moment while in the air that he almost felt himself fluttering in the sky, as if he were actually flying. Li closed his eyes for a moment to embrace the cool wind blowing at his face, before he suddenly felt gravity begin to take its toll and he began to tumble down. Li opened his eyes to concentrate now. He saw the path in front of him. The sea was getting closer and closer by the second, and Li still had his confident smile on his face.

    That is, until he began to get closer to the water. Li had hoped that he would be able to avoid the rocks if he jumped far enough, but now he saw he was on a collision with one anyways. Li's smile vanished as he began to try to move away from the spot, making a 'swimming' motion through the air, trying to get away from the spot, but to no avail. Li was on a set path right to the rock. Thoughts began filling his head. Maybe he should have thought this over more. But that had always been his problem in the past. He never thought things through. Still, even if he had the knowledge, would have have done anything differently? This is who Li is. Or maybe now was.

    Li stopped struggled, knowing what was coming. He embraced the moment knowing the inevitable. He closed his eyes as he was a mere few seconds from the surface of the water. And then...

    SPLASH!

    Li landed right into the water, no crunching bones or smashing hits being felt nor heard. He avoided the rocks?

    Li went up to the surface of the water for air, looking around. All around him were sharp rocks, and he had somehow landed in the one spot in the area where none were present. He wondered how it happened. By any account, he should have landed on the rocks, but he didn't. Had he avoided them, or....had they moved?

    Li looked up at the crowd of kids lined up on the cliff above, wondering how he was. Li smiled and lifted his hands in the air triumphantly. The others cheered.

    That was the day he found out he was an Earthbender, and also that no matter the situation, nothing was impossible.

    Firebender CS

    Dakko

    ”Stand too close to the fire, and you will get burned.”

    Name;; Dakko Hitano

    Nickname;; Dak - TBD

    Age;; 22

    Gender;; Male

    Sexuality;; straight

    Role;; Firebender apprentice

    Primary Element;; Fire

    Hair Color Length and Style;;Like most firebenders, Dakko’s hair is dark, a mixture of dark brown and black depending on what light falls on him. Dakko keeps his raven hair short so it does not obstruct his vision during bending. Usually it is cut very short on the sides, while allowed to grow longer on his crane. It is fairly lively on its own and when wet seems to dry into his trademark tuft.

    Eye Color and Shape;;Born of two firebenders, Dakko has the distinct elongated eye-shape of most people hailing from the Fire Nation. Like his element, they tend to not stand still unless he fixes his attention on a single subject. Dakko’s eyes seem to be ever alert and are amber coloured with a warm hue emanating from them. They speak of an intelligent and keen mind behind them, which likes to stare right through people, trying to figure out the very essence of their being. When angered they seem to blaze with the heat of a ferocious fire, while when calm and at ease that heat slinks to the comfortable warmth of a candle or hearth.

    Facial Structure;; Dakko’s face is fair, yet with the apparent exterior of his Fire Nation blood; high cheek bones and nasal ridge, strong brows and features. It has given the young man a much sterner visage than one would expect at his age.

    Complexion;; In spite of what one might suspect of a life as firebender, Dakko’s face remains free of burns. His skin is on the pale side of the spectrum, yet without causing the doubt of his health. Nonetheless, he sports several scars across the entirety of his body because of training accidents or fights. The young firebender keeps his beard cleanly shaven, though if allowed to grow, Dakko would be able to proudly call himself a bearded man. However, he considers himself too young for such a display as that is the fashion of older men. The most Dakko allows is a stubble on his cheeks and chin.

    Height and Weight;; Dakko is not the largest of men, only reaching to 1.78 meters. Nor is he the heaviest with his 75 kg.

    Body Type;; One could not call Dakko skinny nor overweight. The young man is of a fit condition, muscular and wiry with no evidence of redundant fat as one would expect of a future Fire Master.

    Voice;; Dakko can’t sing, that became apparent early on in his youth. Neither does he use his voice very often, preferring to leave others to do the talking in his stead. This does not mean though that he never speaks: Dakko is a strong-willed individual keen on meeting his problems head on and with full force. One would characterize his voice as one with a pleasant timbre, warming and masculine yet not low.

    Theme song;; [yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Rnt6YugVmo[/yt]

    Potential Interest;; TBD

    Equipment and Personal Artifacts;;

    Dakko usually wears black and red clothing or soft leather. The light clothes and armour do not hamper him in his bending katas and movements. The man preferring nimbleness and speed over relying on defending. This is partly because of Dakko’s bending style and the fact firebending inherently has little defensive options, instead making do with evasion and redirecting.

    Dakko usually carries a satchel with basic supplies and necessary things such as rope, a knife, flask for water and other things. The only real possession of emotional worth to him, is his family’s signet ring gifted to him by his parents. The heirloom is one of the last things he has from the disgraced Hitani-clan.

    He has also learned how to fight with knuckledusters, and light armour, but depending on the mission or assignment those are either worn or left in the White Lotus armory.

    Other;; Dakko has the ability to bend lighting, the cold-hearted fire. Sometimes Dakko's flames are blue, but this is very inconsistent and as of yet he has been unable to bend blue fire at will. Master Atoh believes there is a direct link between Dakko's mood and the ability to bend blue fire.

    Likes;;
    Reading: exercising the mind is equally as important as exercising the body.

    Pai Sho: it provides Dakko with an opportunity to practice his strategic skills. Furthermore, he is competitive and Pai Sho offers him a way out of the daily worries. Not to mention it’s fun.

    Rosehip tea and cakes: he has a sweet tooth.

    Order and discipline: Growing up in the Fire Nation, and later under the tutelage of Master Atoh has instilled the firebender with a great sense of discipline. Naturally dutiful, it mixed well and sometimes Dakko views himself as a born soldier, though this remains to be seen.

    Dislikes;;
    People: Solitude is bliss. Dakko does not like to be in large groups of people because of the noise and crowdedness. He is not a people person interacting with most only because he has to.

    Ignorance: Dakko has severe difficulty with patience and stupid people. A low intelligence or wit is a quick cause for dislike.
    Ambitious uncle: the side of the family that ousted them from the Fire Nation. He hates his uncle Rano and two sons with a great passion.

    Habits;; [What habits do they have? Are they good, or bad habits? Do NOT list your characters habits. Explain them] TBD

    Strengths;;

    Driven. If there is one thing Dakko is, it is driven. It gives him strength, speed and focus, though the reason why he is driven is a more complex matter. Is it because he believes in the mission of the White Lotus, his desire to reclaim his birthright, lust for vengeance or simply because he wishes to be the best and/or prove himself.

    Unarmed combat, because of the lack of defense while firebending, Master Atoh has taught Dakko extensive unarmed combat moves to block or break bending moves. However, in order to do so, Dakko has to get close to his adversaries. Another welcome effect is his speed and flexibility, as he needs this to successfully place his attacks.

    Dakko is smart and cunning, one way or another he seems to be able to discern traits and thoughts of the people he comes in contact with. Dakko comprehends people. Though this too has a downside. For as analytic as he is, the firebender has trouble with placing emotions. Atoh believes that because of his inability to understand and channel his emotions, Dakko is prone to the outbursts and wild reckless fighting. He is not an easy person to live or deal with.

    Weaknesses;;

    In spite of the teachings of his Firebender master Atoh, Dakko does not believe that solely the energy of life gives strength to firebending. As such, the spiritual side of his education is severely lacking, while his fire mastery is impressive it is clear that Dakko needs to learn self-control and restraint in order to become a true master. In the heat of battle or practice, Dakko often loses his restraint and fights with nothing held back unleashing a fiery fury with little regard to his own or his friends’ safety. Atoh claims Dakko needs to channel his emotions and control his breath better, for currently he relies too heavily on talent and skill and not expertise.

    Dakko struggles between his logical, analytic nature and the inherent burning emotions that are the trademark of firebenders. He tries to ‘control the flame’, but most of the times it overwhelms him instead.
    As a firebender, Dakko has a natural stubbornness streak to him, however it is on the verge of being obstinate. Too often and too fast he believes he has figured something out, only to be proven wrong later. Admitting he was wrong is one of the hardest things for him to do.

    Dakko’s fighting style has a heavy emphasis on offensive moves, largely because of firebending lacking several defensive moves to counter incoming attacks. As such, Dakko has practiced evading and negating incoming strikes.

    Personality;;

    Dakko is distant and reclusive yet ambitious. Scarred by loss and hardship, it is difficult for him to let people get close emotionally. Somewhat of a paradox, he is both cold-hearted but at the same time known for passionate outbreaks of anger and bottled up frustration.

    Dakko harbours a great deal of sadness and urge for vindication as he believes he was cheated out of his rightful heritage and birthright by his ambitious uncle. Though grateful for the safety and generosity of the White Lotus and Master Atoh in particular, he does not deem their cause as his. His humour is oftentimes characterised as cynical and dark.

    The young man is intelligent and calculated as Atoh schooled him in both physical and mental challenges and skills. Dakko likes to figure people out, realise how they think and function and discover if they can be used or not. As a firebender and son of nobility, he has a strong sense of duty and honour. However, as forced renegades he understands the need for pragmatisms and has sometimes been accused of being too Machiavellian in his efforts and convictions.

    Dakko is torn between his duty and loyalty to master Atoh and the White Lotus and the urge to regain his family’s honour and place among his people. It is oftentimes difficult for the youth to keep his morals aligned, for he is forced to stay in an increasingly foggy grey zone of mixed loyalties and causes while in truth Dakko is a black-and-white person. He feels slighted for not being able to have joined the Fire Nation’s military and gain prestige and rank there. Fortunately, the White Lotus has provided him with an alternative.

    Brief History;;

    Scion of an exiled noble-clan from the Fire Nation, Dakko spent his childhood’s years fleeing from the hunters of those who wished him and his family dead. The Hitano clan protested loudly against the increasing war-effort and it had been only a matter of time before the Fire Lord ordered their replacement. An ambitious uncle was more than eager to claim Dakko’s father’s possessions, influence and titles. They were expelled from their estates and chance more than planning allowed them to escape.

    Cast out by the Fire Nation’s nobility, and with nothing on them except for a few trinkets, Dakko, his parents and two siblings fled to an old friend of his father’s: Master Atoh. Atoh was a self-exiled firebender of great renown and prowess and secretly a member of the White Lotus. Generous as the man was, he took in the refugees and provided them with a place of safety, a haven. In return, Dakko became one of Atoh’s apprentice.

    The White Lotus extended its hospitality and provided Dakko’s family with a means to survive and a place to stay safe and sound. Their existence became modest and though it taught Dakko humility it was still a clear reminder of what they had lost.

    Atoh was a good teacher, driven by his faith in the mission of the White Lotus and dedicated to finding and schooling the Avatar. Over the years as Dakko grew into manhood, Atoh has ever tried to instill his pupil with the meaning of life and the conviction that their cause is just. A side-effect resulted in sitting down the teenager to read and learn about history, in an attempt to show the young Dakko that spiritual and mental labour was equally as important as physical. Dakko was quickly captivated by the history of the world but especially about the military side of things: ruses, tactics, stratagems… So far even that Master Atoh was slightly worried the youth might have taken flight and join the Fire Nation’s army. Undoubtedly a route Dakko had pondered over, yet the debt of his father kept him in the service of the White Lotus.

    Posting Example;;
    Menial. That’s how Dak would describe the task given to him by Atoh. Years of training and discipline. And for what? For being a messenger boy?! Dakko spit, his saliva hot because of his anger and frustration. It sizzled in as it hit the snow-covered ground. Three weeks now had he been on the road, sometimes finding refuge and a meal in a village inn, but mostly he was not that lucky. The hedgerows provided him with a roof over his head, while he had kept himself fed with plants, mushrooms and fruit he knew were edible. Though he recalled finding a bird’s nest one morning.

    The Earth Kingdom citizens looked at him with suspicion, courtesy to his pale skin and exterior commonly sported by men from the Fire Nation. Years of war had obviously not enkindled friendliness and Dakko had had to flee a small village once when the innkeeper had caught him firebending. The feeling of lack of endearment was mutual. However, his proximity to his goal, Ba Sing Se, convinced the locals he could not be a Fire Nation citizen. And surely a spy would not approach the massive capital in plain sight.

    It was cold, his breath forming little clouds in front of him as he made his way through the fallen snow. Fortunately there was only a thin layer of it, through which his boots easily marched on.

    Ahead lay a cluster of some twenty or thirty hovels, huddled clay buildings with roofs of tiles or straw. The road went directly through the settlement, joining up with the village centre where a well had been dug. From the town square, three roads radiated outward, of which one Dakko had come from. Some villagers were going about their daily business but like in the dozen places he had visited before, there was a severe lack of young men. They were all off fighting in the war or had returned in coffins to be buried amongst their family plot.

    A modest tea house and inn was one of the buildings around the square and so Dak made his way toward it, his hood pulled over his pale visage. A comfortable warmth greeted him as he kicked off the snow from his boots and heels. The innkeeper was a jolly fellow, obese and merry with a bald head. He welcomed the stranger like an old friend. Dakko ordered tea and a meal.

    Whilst waiting for his food to arrive, he cherished the tea in his hands, enjoying the warmth it sent through his fingers. Ever since the incident where he had been exposed as a firebender, Dakko had been careful. When the innkeeper deposited his plate in front of him a porridge of bread, vegetables and meat strings, he attacked it like a famished animal. The big bald man had to laugh and slapped him on the shoulder. Not knowing how to respond, Dakko simply tried to offer the man a smile yet his face remained emotionless. In truth, all he wished to do was eat and then sleep.

    Next morning, after asking directions from his host, he made his way to Ba Sing Se. The road from the tiny village joined up with a paved stretch of way leading directly towards the high walls of the Earth Kingdom’s capital. Dakko sighed, prayed to his ancestors and hoped he would make it into the city without being interrogated…

    Bandit Shen

    ”You think your bending gives you power? You have no idea what power is.”

    Name;;
    Wu Leng Shen

    Nickname;;
    Bandit Shen

    Age;;
    24

    Gender;;
    Male

    Sexuality;;
    Homosexual

    Role;;
    Chi-Blocker

    Primary Weapon:
    Needles

    Hair Color Length and Style:
    Shen has long black hair, usually tied back in a ponytail and then wrapped under his bandana to keep it out of his eye.

    Eye Color and Shape:
    Shen has almond-shaped brown eyes. His right eye was burned severely by a fire-bender, so he usually covers it with his bandana.

    Facial Structure:
    Shen has a somewhat heroic facial structure, with a strong, slightly curved jawline and prominent nose. His lips are thin, narrow, as if drawn on. His face and skin show he's something of a mongrel, with little features that seem to come from all over the world.

    Complexion:
    Shen's skin is ruddy and rugged from his life at sea and in the sun. His hands and feet have many callouses and small abrasions or scars. The largest scar is across the right side of his face.

    Height and Weight:
    Shen stands at 5"8 and weighs around 160 lbs. He tends to puff out his chest a little to look bigger than he really is.

    Body Type:
    Shen is no hulking bodybuilder, but has a whipcord muscle structure, tightly wound and powerful. He's light on his feet and moves with quick, graceful ease. His legs are probably the most sculpted and developed part of his body.

    Voice;;
    Shen is intelligent and educated but unrefined; his accent might be abrasive to a noble, but he knows the big words and has absolutely no trouble making himself heard when he wants to be heard. His voice is naturally a little too smooth and soft for his liking, so he tries to be gruff and more gravelly, so that he sounds more like a pirate captain and less like a waitress.

    Theme song;; Mumford & Sons - Dustbowl Dance

    Potential Interest:
    [wait until the cast is established]

    Equipment and Personal Artifacts;;
    Shen's most obvious trademark is his orange silk bandana, which he wears around his head to hide his scarred eye. He also usually has a basic navigation kit on him, containing a small brass eyeglass, a cheap compass and some old maps. Shen also uses acupuncture needles both medicinally and as weapons in combat. He usually has a few hidden about his person, strapped to the inside of his britches or under his tongue. He does have a couple of bolas' to bind a benders limbs, but he prefers his needles.

    Other;;
    Shen's clothes have a lot of hidden pockets and the cabin of his boat has many hidden compartments..
    Shen used to work for a bigger pirate captain by the name of Gong Leng but led a mutiny against Leng and escaped. He still has the ship he took from Leng's fleet, the Seventh Heaven, which has a small but loyal crew.
    Leng has a pet chimp (not a chimp-bat, not a crocochimp. Just a chimp) named Ten-ten.
    Shen's right eye is not blind, but does not see as clear as his left.
    Shen has a number of dragon tattoos across his chest and back.

    Likes:
    • Look, it's not like I hate all benders. Waterbenders can heal. That's cool. Earthbenders build houses. That's the way it should go. Do good with what you got.
    • You know the good thing about being a pirate? We get to go new places, meet new people. Constant stream of novelty, that's living.
    • Okay, yes, I drink sometimes. In fact, I drink really well. I can probably drink you under the table. Problem?

    Dislikes;;
    • Firebenders, they're the problem. Can't build a house. Just burn it down. And they want you to know they can burn your house down. When a pirate captain says somebody's thugs, you know they're thugs
    • I drink, but I don't like getting drunk. I mean, it's fun and all but loss of control, loss of balance... Same with drugs. It's all fun, but I need every edge I can get to stay alive and free.
    • I don't think I'm the settling-down type, you know? Buy a house, raise a family, see the same damn hills for the rest of my life? I'd go mad.

    Habits;;
    Shen's life on the high seas has accustomed him to travel, but also to paranoia. He's slow to trust and is constantly looking around and evaluating people in the crowds to spot the nearest magistrate or town guard. It's a survival instinct.
    In general, Shen is okay with problems and imperfections up to the part where it might get him killed; he's extremely rigorous about his training, his marksmanship and his security and expects a lot from other people on that issue.
    The first thing Shen does when he docks the Seventh Heaven in a new port is to head to the nearest tea-house. He finds it's the fastest way to learn about a new place, but it also lets him blow off steam after a long voyage.

    Strengths;;
    • Shen is a master at unarmed martial arts, with a focus on anti-bender techniques. He's also a master at fighting so dirty that an Earthbender could probably pick it up, going for the pressure points but also the groin and eyes with savage attacks. Shen might not be able to actually manipulate the elements, but he has a deep understanding of the motions of the different styles in order to exploit the weaknesses of their forms. If you ignore the fact he's not able to shoot fire, he could pass for a pretty good firebender, for instance.
    • If Shen doesn't want you to lay a hand on him you can't lay a hand on him. He's extremely agile, acrobatic and lithe. He is especially good at anticipating and dodging ranged attacks, such as bending. He's also got great sea legs from, well, spending so long on the sea. He can easily keep steady on uneven surfaces (which comes in handy fighting Earthbenders) and can balance on narrow platforms.
    • Shen's chi-blocking martial arts come from a knowledge of medicine, anatomy and pressure points, which he uses to heal as well as in combat. He's probably about as good a healer as someone could be without that mystic water-bending bull.
    • Shen never gets lost. He has a great sense of direction and can even navigate based on the stars if he loses his compass.
    • Okay, yes, he's a crook. Shen is skilled in sleight-of-hand and palmistry, as well as knot-tying and escape artistry. Shen knows where the bodies are buried, often literally. He has connections to the criminal underworld that can be a valuable (but perhaps expensive) resource.

    Weaknesses;;
    • Shen's criminal past comes with a price tag; there are warrants out for his arrest in the Fire Nation, where most of his raids took place. He has also crossed several other pirates, including Gong Leng.
    • Shen's right eye is roughly half the strength it should be. This means that his accuracy when fighting long distance can be very hit-and-miss. He can throw his needles with extreme accuracy to a distance of about twenty feet, but beyond that it can't be relied on very well.

    Personality;;
    Shen is the sort of guy that tries to live as hard as he can, in case he dies tomorrow (which is a very real concern for a pirate captain). He's got a lot of energy and always seems to be going somewhere and doing something. When he tries to do something, he throws everything he has at it until it's done, which applies to everything from his job to his fighting style.

    As you might expect from a career criminal, Shen is quite morally ambivalent and is perhaps closer to a gray knight than a white one; he has some standards, but not many and they're quite flexible. He's fine with stealing from people who can afford the theft - Fire Nation spice merchants are a favorite target - but he wont take the bread from someone's mouth. He trusts his crew fiercely and likes to treat them well. He's not exactly a Robin-Hood figure, in that he steals from the rich but won't necessarily give to the poor; he'll buy stuff from the poor though, so that's kind of like giving, right? That said, he objects to slavery and human trafficking jobs and won't take them full-stop.

    Shen, being a non-bender, naturally has some issues about how benders use their arts. As a general rule, he thinks that they should be helping people with those abilities and if they don't then they don't deserve their bending. In this regard, he has a special hate for firebenders (leaving aside the fact that a firebender scarred him). He sees them as people who only exist to burn and harm others and that if there is something pure and noble in their bending, it's well-hidden and probably long-forgotten. When he fights benders, he comes across as rather brutal and especially sadistic when dealing with firebenders - he gloats and taunts them more quite a lot more, to make them lose focus and control of their bending. He also resents the fact that most rulers are benders, which he sees as unjust given that there are more non-benders in the world than benders; non-benders should be able to rule themselves, in his opinion.

    Brief History;; Shen was born in a dusty land where the Fire Nation borders on the Earth Kingdom. The people there were farmers, simple folk but they suffered greatly due to the border skirmishes between the two nations. Fire Nation soldiers would burn through harvests and Earth Kingdom troops could leave fertile land ravaged with boulders. Famine was commonplace and people started leaving to look for work elsewhere, doing whatever it was they could do. For Shen, who was orphaned in the Fire/Earth conflict, that meant heading south to a big trading river and doing whatever he could to survive.

    Shen signed up to be a runner on a boat that he later learned was actually a pirate ship. But they treated him okay and they gave him food and a place to sleep, which was more than he would have found staying on the streets. The captain of the ship was a fire bender named Gong Leng, who used his bending to burn the sails of the ships he would sack. Most of his men weren't benders, but had to deal with ship guards who often were. They often used bolas to tie up the guards, but it was still brutal fighting. The wealthiest merchants were the most likely to have benders guarding their ships, so the riskiest jobs tended to have the greatest rewards.

    As Shen grew older, Gong Leng all but adopted him and made Shen his cabin boy. And yes, it was how you think it would be on the high seas with no women on the ship. As Leng's pirate fleet and personal fortune grew, he paid to have Shen trained in medicine and acupuncture, ostensibly to tend to the wounded sailors but really because Leng knew that pressure points lay at the heart of chi-block fighting, and that would be vital for quickly dealing with bender guards. Shen was an apt pupil, though restless as he never liked staying with any one master or school for long periods of time. While he did eventually master acupuncture and could develop chi-block fighting techniques from there, it probably took him longer than most would have done if they had stuck with one master for a long time.

    But as Gong Leng grew richer, he grew greedier. He expanded his operations from simple raids to smuggling, then to the slave trade. For Shen, that was the final straw and he cut all ties with Leng, both in terms of employment and their relationship. He rallied some other dissenters around him and stole one of Leng's ships, but they didn't get away without a fight. Leng and Shen dueled on Leng's flagship, the Serpent's Eye, and Shen was able to paralyze Leng long enough to escape - but only after being badly burned across his face and eye.

    After that, Shen quickly escaped and lay low in the waters near the South Pole, to heal and gather his strength. It was there that he was first approached by a man calling himself Han, another non-bender who claimed to represent a group called the White Lotus. Han was a practical man who knew that a secret organization like the Lotus would need black market connections, and had initially approached Shen for trade and commerce, but the two soon found more in common. Both fought with styles intended to counteract bending, though the older Han was a far more experienced and accomplished martial artist. They even shared a similar view about bending, that it should serve the world and not rule it. Han agreed to take Shen on as an apprentice, and the two went from there.

    Under Han, Shen actually was trained in the different techniques and styles of bending, so that he could better understand how benders would move in combat; their stances, forms and philosophies. He was able to learn the motions far quicker than a bender would have; he was able to focus on simply the motions as he lacked the ability to bend and therefore didn't have to struggle with getting his inner chi right. Han and Shen shared much knowledge between them, with Shen's end of the bargain being supplying the White Lotus with funds and resources through his black market contacts. This mutually beneficial relationship lasted for a couple of years. When word of the Avatar passed through the White Lotus, Han sent Shen to the North Pole to seek out the reincarnated Avatar. Shens mission statement was very simple, summed up in one sentence. "Keep her safe but keep her humble."

    Posting Example:
    Docked in a White Lotus stronghold, the deck of the Seventh Heaven had become used as an impromptu sparring ground. The boards were cleared and clean and Shen stood, surrounded by three armed men. Near the captain's cabin sat an older gentleman, Master Han, who raised his hands and clapped them together. "Begin."

    The three armed men, all White Lotus apprentices like Shen, began circling him. This was a live weapons exercise, but Shen himself was unarmed. That was the point. Not all fights were fair. Deal with it. Shen ducked and spun round under a pair of flashing blades, butterfly kicking around to face his opponent, who stooped low in a dual-sword stance. "The fire bender's weapon is the sword, the warrior's weapon. The sword is personal, it is fierce and it is designed for one thing. It is very good at that one thing." Han's narration was intended to distract as much as to inform, and as the blades flashed again Shen was jinking left and right to avoid getting a new scar, feeling the air slice past him with each stroke of the blades.

    "Fire and sword; each has two edges" was Shen's reply, as he ducked under one sword and grabbed the wrist holding the other. He quickly jabbed the free arm, turning it numb - the sword clattered out of useless fingers - while twisting the seized arm around to press the blade against the wielder's throat. "Make the fire burn the bender."

    "Good" Han's approval fell of deaf ears as Shen pushed the swordsman away and ducked low again, rolling under the hammer blow of the next attacker. He came up rolling, dropping into a mimicry of a firebender's stance. The hammer man came again, but Shen was ready for him. "The earth benders' weapon is the hammer. Powerful, solid, and at home in both destruction and construction, with both the workman and the warrior." Sure enough, great powerful swings of the hammer threatened to pulp flesh and powder bone as Shen moved, never still, around the warrior. His fingers darted out, striking meridians and chakra points. Suddenly the hammer man stiffened, his eyes rolled back in his head and he fell down, unconscious.

    "Their stability gives them strength, but it makes them a target. They elephant thinks its skin will protect it from the spider's bite, until the venom takes effect." And again, there was not much time to absorb the lesson before the next attack came. This time a cracking announced a whip, trying to keep Shen at bay and render those fingers worthless.

    "The water bender is the whip. They turn suppleness into strength and blend grace with force." Shen spun around the mast to avoid the lashing blows. Even one hit would end the lesson, to say nothing of just really hurt. He ducked right as the whip came down and then dashed in as the whipper tried to recover, closing in to arms length before he had time to commit to a second swing and jabbing once, twice, three times along his whipping arm before kicking the whip away and just straight up punching the pretend-bender in the face.

    "The whip needs range. The bender needs water. Deprive them of both and they are worthless." That was it. The last of the three combatants he'd been arranged to fight, but there was one more element left. He walked over to Master Han and bowed, before offering the old man a hand up to his feet. "What of the air benders, Master? What weapon are they?"

    Han reached out and took Shen's hand, then blurred as he struck Shen on his crown chakra. Shen knew the effect that would have on him, but that didn't make going temporarily blind any more fun. Han's voice rang out from the imposed darkness. "The Air bender's weapon is philosophy. This is why they are dead. This concludes the lesson. Now, take my hand and walk with me, apprentice."

    "Yes, Master." Shen felt out for Han and gripped the older man's hand firmly, limping alongside him as his eyes struggled to regain their focus and work again. One day soon, there would come a time when Bender and Non-Bender would be considered equals, and it would begin with what they were doing here today..

    Lian Shi

    ”I feel it only fair to warn you, that I am stronger than I look.”

    Name;; Lian Shi

    Nickname;; Li-Li.

    Age;; 18

    Gender;; Female

    Sexuality;; Pansexual.

    Role;; Firebending Master.

    Primary Element;; Fire

    Hair Color Length and Style;; Lian Shi's hair is a beautiful brown, it flows down to just where her sash across her robe is and is often held up slightly in up-do. Lian Shi seems to wear this style all the time however, regardless of the style she wears it, her hair is never seen without the beautiful pink flow hair accessory given to her by her mother.
    Eye Color and Shape;; Lian Shi's eyes, like her hair, are a beautiful deep brown. Seemingly bottomless pools of warmth and happiness one could stare into for eternity.

    Facial Structure;; Lian Shi's facial structure is a well defined yet gentle one, with strong cheek bones and perfectly sized nose. Her gentle pink lips, which curve into a perfect smile help her shine even more.

    Complexion;; Her complexion is flawless, she seems to be a rather natural beauty as her skin radiates a healthy glow and she is never seen with blemishes.

    Height and Weight;; Lian Shi stands at 5'7 and weighs in at 145 pounds.

    Body Type;; Lian has a rather nice body to say the least, she has slim build with several curves in the right places. She also spends a lot of time dancing, giving her a slightly more refined body over others, she does however prefer to keep a modest appearance and wears a kimono a size larger than necessary.

    Voice;; Lian Shi's voice is warm and caring, while having an air of maturity and still sounded quite young. Sample

    Theme song;; Elegant, grand and graceful like Lian Shi herself.

    Potential Interest;; [Open]

    Equipment and Personal Artifacts;; Lian has a beautiful white parasol, which has hand painted pink flowers across it, she is never seen anywhere without it.

    Other;; Back in the fire nation she was hailed as the greatest beauty and because her birthday falls right at the start of summer she was given the title of "Summer Time Beauty." at home.

    Likes;;
    Peace: Like most, Lian is a lover of peace whom is always happiest when the world itself is calm and she can just go out for walks with a clear head and listen to the birds sing.

    Family: Lian was raised in a warm and loving home, therefor she has a great respect for her family and a loving and caring bond with her younger sister.

    Birdsong: Lian Shi is truly happy when birds are singing, as it helps her feel at one with nature and at one with her place of true happiness.

    Adventure: She may not look it but Lian Shi loves adventure and mystery as much as the next, in fact her particular love of ghost stories is a well known fact and many men have previously used this to gain favor with the young beauty.
    Dislikes;;
    Being Underestimated: Having suffered through being undermined and being underestimated, it's safe to say very few things rub Lian Shi the wrong way than underestimating her, regardless of the reason.

    Inability to Heal: Lian has always wanted to be able to heal the wounds of those around her, being a firebender has of course made her unable to do so and as such she is jealous of waterbenders and their ability to heal others.

    Needless Violence: Lian Shi would never stand by while someone was attacking a defenseless village or possible harming an innocent bystander, while she dislikes the idea of having to engage in combat herself, she is always prepared to stand up for whatever is necessary in her eyes.
    Habits;; Lian Shi has very few habits, she is often to busy doing something to be distracted enough to have a habit however she seems to begin playing with her hair when she becomes disinterested or totally bored. Lian also has a terrible habit of nagging when it comes to little things where she really doesn't need to.
    Strengths;;
    • Firebending: Her skill in firebending is great to the point she was asked to teach the avatar, need I say more?
    • Persuasiveness: Lian Shi is known to be particularly amazing at persuading people to do things for herself and whomever else she is prepared to lend her skills too.
    • Highly skilled combatant: Lian Shi dislikes having to engage in combat, however she should be forced into a combative situation she is more than capable of holding her own. She is a fast thinker and extremely quick on feet, reacting sharply and without wasting any movements.

    Weaknesses;;
    • Emotional Fighter: If Lian Shi is upset about something, it reflect should she need to fight and her skills will suffer heavily for it as she will become a much poorer combatant.
    • Headstrong: Although she doesn't seem the type she can be especially headstrong about certain things, even taking up issue and arguing if she feels especially passionate about something. She has been known to put herself in danger when she has put herself in a situation she wasn't involved in and was almost in trouble.

    Personality;; Lian Shi is a kind and gentle girl, her gentle demeanor and perfect manners mean many take an instant liking to her. Lian is known to be soft with little children and is described by many as a "perfect wife." despite her young age. Her dislike of war often described as "cute quality." and Lian is known as one of the most beautiful woman to ever come out of the fire nation and has be for recognized by many people as a 'timeless beauty'.

    However Lian Shi is far from a quiet little housewife, although most do not expect it she is actually extremely fiery if the situation calls for it, often rushing into situations to help those she perceives to be in trouble or require her assistance. Lian has a very black and white sense of write and wrong, she is quick to judge what she should feels is the right thing to do and will often see that it gets done, even though it might not necessarily be the right course of action. Her strong sense of justice often gets her into trouble as she is rarely holds her tongue and is quick to act once her mind is made up, despite her love of peace, she becomes noticeably more hostile when around criminals or any wrong doer.
    Her passionate streak is usually reserved for when it comes to helping people or when she angry she can also show it when it comes to teaching. While teaching, Lian is far more strict than usual and is far more critical than most would expect of her, her bluntness and sharp tongue while instructing occasionally problems but really Lian is only critical because she cares, although she may not always express that in the correct way.

    Lian's ultimate passion however is ghosts, she has a deep love of all kind of ghost stories and lore, owning several supposedly 'cursed' talismans at home and enjoying listen to traditional ghost stories. By rule of thumb, the scarier it is, the more likely Lian Shi is to enjoy it. This is something Lian is rather ashamed off as she quickly becomes over excited and wanders off to study anything she finds remotely interesting relating to ghosts.

    Brief History;; Lian was born into a rather privileged family however she never really benefited from it in anyway, her parents decided that they wanted Lian and her sister to have a wealth of experiences about the world and what it was like, so he sent them off to work to try and earn all the money for things they wanted and needed so that they have a little bit better of an understanding about the world and value of money.

    Lian actually enjoyed working and took a shine to actually having to put some elbow grease into what she earned, however was proud to state that she had bought things she wanted and needed with her own money which she had earned with her own two hands. Lian worked with a smile on her face and she started to get admirers around her hometown, though popular with the men she had very little interest in actually pursuing a relationship as she was happy with the way her life was. Eventually Lian was offered a job as a street performer, as a dancer, and it was pretty good money so naturally Lian accepted the offer and began work almost right away. While working she noticed several firebenders, despite her interest in bending she never actually had tried it and at some point ask the street performers to teach her their tricks and they did.

    Lian took to firebending like a bird to the sky, many impressed by the size and beauty of the flames she effortlessly controlled as she started to incorporate them into her dance routines and various performances and soon earned the attention of many more men. Lian was soon making a name for herself as a prodigy, having long since upstaged her street performer teachers, and many people took a lot of interest in her and Lian began to earn a lot more money but still...she wasn't what you would happy, she was just sort of content with her life and the way it was with no real reason to do anything else with it, or any real desire too.

    Lian continued to develop her bending style by herself with self taught methods and tricks, since she had based a good majority of her style on street performing and dancing she developed a far more graceful style of bending, that was more defensive and evasive than straight out destructive like most firebending styles. Her style became unique to her and many young benders approached her for the opportunity to learn however she turned them all down, unsatisfied with the style in it's current form and wanted more time to perfect it. Lian decided to give up her job as a street performer so she could focus more on her style of bending as she wanted to finally perfect it.

    One day Lian was walking home from a trip to a teahouse with a gentlemen caller and she noticed something strange going on down an alley and went to go investigate, she saw someone trying assault an elderly man and naturally intervened with her unique style of bending to scare the assailant off, the old man however was rather grateful and offered her the chance to join something that was a secret as he was impressed with her bending skill, kindness and heart. Lian Shi's initial reaction was to refuse, however upon the mention of bending Lian became curious and looked for the opportunity to complete her style. When presented with a game of Pai Sho, Lian was initially taken aback however soon was able to grasp the idea and eventually succeeded in gaining membership into The Order of the White Lotus. After that her master began to teach her the firebending from the ground up, Lian's training with her master was grilling to say the least and there was many times she thought she would fail however her skill in both traditional firebending and her own style increased significantly. Eventually Lian was able to perfect her style of bending, which she then called Graceful Tiger style of bending. Lian practiced everyday to keep her skills sharp, the style was a lot harder to teach and grasp over the traditional style however it was harder to read, more defensive and ultimately more powerful than traditional style firebending.

    Lian was eventually asked by her master to go to the north pole and teach the new avatar, something Lian jumped at, she more than anybody else wanted peace to reign over the world again and she believed from the bottom of her heart that the new avatar could bring such a peaceful time to the world. She explained to her family she was going on a personal journey and after being given some money and supplies by her father and after emotional goodbyes with her sister and mother hell even her father cried a bit and her trusty parasol in hand, Lian Shi set off to teach this avatar everything she knew about firebending.
    -x-

    Posting Example;; The teahouse was full of hustle and bustle for the time, it wasn't usually a loud place but Lian Shi was having trouble hearing her gentlemen caller, although she wasn't entirely sure it was a bad thing because what she could hear, she didn't much like.
    "So then I says to the how about you shut up before I burn you to a crisp!" said gentlemen caller spoke in his gruff voice as he seemed to have finally reached the punchline of his story but Lian Shi didn't even try and a fake a laugh, she just kind of sat there before taking another sip of her green tea, thusfar entirely unimpressed with the conversational topics and skills, he hadn't asked her anything about herself this whole time. Lian Shi wasn't naive, it was obvious what the guy was after but he could at least try and feign some interest in her personality and not her body right? She could probably say how she wanted to use her bending to burn the skin off every child in a 50 mile radius and the dude probably wouldn't care, hell he probably would want to join in.

    Lian shivered a little bit as she watched the man across the table, she could see his lips moving but had done herself the favor of turning out of the noise that was coming out of them, but still giving polite nods and little gestures that she was still at least somewhat interested.
    "Don't worry though m'lady, these big strong arms will protect you." she manged to do herself the injustice of actually listen again and this is what she hears? She was torn between throwing her hot tea in his face or just storming out, instead she gave a stupid little giggle in response, the man across the table from her seemed have taken it as a sign of approval, really it was just a "Bitch please, the only around here that needs protecting is you."

    Lian started playing with her hair as she often did when she was bored, hoping this trainwreck would come to an end soon, most dates went exactly like this one: They went to a teahouse, the "gentlemen" wouldn't stop talking about himself, they told her a ghost story and then Lian went home. She cursed her love of ghost stories to the point where dreck like this could get a date out of her just by offering her one, she never really noticed it before but lately one thing was on her mind:Was everyone in the fire nation this difficult to get along with? Honestly her dates always started with the guy talking his, average at best, bending skills and then onto...well Lian didn't really know because by then he had lost her and she was off daydreaming about other things while she just sat there nodding and giving the occasional 'Mmhm' sound and if they were really lucky sometimes a 'I know what you mean' would slip out.

    "So what do you think about bending then? I guess fire must be your best friend or something." The guy asked Lian snapping her out of her train of thought as she mused over what he had said.

    "Not really, I don't think you have any right to bend an element if you aren't afraid of it." She replied honestly in vaguely interested tone, she was curious to see if this was going to lead to an intelligent conversation or debates.

    He scoffed a bit before shooting back his reply. "Well that's why the women are more suited for the housework eh?"
    "Excuse me?" all the interest in her voice dropping as her tone became noticeably colder.
    "Well all this pansy being afraid of your element stuff is for little girls.
    "Is that so?" she said beginning to stand and as she did, she took the opportunity to douse the "gentlemen" across the table from her in green tea, completely unamused by his last statement. "I'll be taking my leave now, it's not me, it's you." she said as she stormed out of the teahouse into the sunshine as she started marching home. 'Honestly, people these day's' she thought to herself as she went.
    - Lian Shi's date with gentlemen caller.

    Miko

    Miko
    ”Make a path that is safe, so those who follow will never stumble.”

    Name;; Miko

    Nickname;; Miko

    Age;; 25

    Gender;; Female

    Sexuality;; Hetrosexual

    Role;; Airbending teacher

    Primary Element;; Air

    Hair Color Length and Style;; Black hair, longer. Sometimes tied into a bun, depending on her mood. While it was the norm for Air Nomads to have shaved heads (partially for women), she does not adhere to that. She is supposed to be in hiding after all.

    Eye Color and Shape;; Almond shaped eyes. For the most part, her gaze is usually calm. Her people are of course known to be peaceful and deeply spiritual, and this shows in her eyes. Her eyes are a shade of soft green.

    Facial Structure;; Roundish, high cheekbones, very demure though. Her features are not 'rough' by any means.

    Complexion;; She has 2 small scars on her right arm, from a training accident with the warriors of the village. It was nothing life threatening, but did leave her with scars. Other than that, she has no major scars. Her skin is a lighter color (so yes sometimes she sticks out amongst her Water Tribe friends). To any who are knowledgeable in such things, it would be obvious she has lived a good and easy life. She hasn't seen to much real battle.

    Height and Weight;; Miko stands 5'7", and weighs 130 pounds.

    Body Type;; Slim, muscular. She has done her best to live a healthy life. She works out constantly, as Airbending can be physically demanding. Her training helps to keep her fit, as well.

    Voice;; Her voice is soft, yet firm. She tries never to raise her voice, that just isn't her style. That's not the way an Air Nomad should behave. I could also hear Natalie Portman's voice whenever I imagine Miko's voice

    Theme song;; Sunshower, by Chris Cornell. It's such an emotionally beautiful song, and I think it fits what Miko is, how she sees life. In life, bad things will come. Sometimes you just have to cry, let it out, and then move onto your future.

    Potential Interest;; None Yet, obviously

    Equipment and Personal Artifacts;;
    ~She has prayer beads she wears, usually under her clothing. She carries a 'walking stick', which doubles as an aid in air bending.
    ~She does own an Air Nomad glider, but she has it hidden away. If anyone were to find it, it could potentially mean trouble.
    ~Miko keeps a map of the world and some of the major cities with her in a small pouch on her hip. The maps were a gift from her mother, to help her learn about the world outside of the Water Tribe.

    Other;;
    ~Despite the fact she was raised in a loving environment, she does have abandonment issues. It's just a character flaw. She hates the thought of losing anyone else in her life.
    ~She is by no means a bad person, but she does make the wrong decisions sometimes. As her journey here begins, she is always hesitant about using her Airbending. And even then, she uses it discretely. She is fearful of the Fire Nation, rather, what the Fire Nation is capable of.

    Likes;;
    ~She knows much of the Air Nomad lifestyle, despite the fact she has never actually been in an Air Temple. But she does abide by their teachings and philosophies. She really does love to perform Airbending, and the excersises associated with it. She considers it her father's legacy. The legacy of the Air Nomads. Her life hasn't been much more than that thus far.
    ~She does enjoy teaching others.. not Airbending mind you. But she is a fairly good teacher when the chance arises.
    ~She also loves to cook. Mostly fruit pies, as is the tradition amongst Air Nomads. She is a vegetarian, of course. Which is something that is very difficult, considering she lives in the Northern Water tribe. She does rely on trading with outsiders who might happen to their village, supply ships and the like. And her mother and herself have a garden they tend in their home.
    ~And that's something else she enjoys, gardening and tending plants.
    ~Despite some of her personality traits towards others, there are times when she likes to be alone. Her mother calls her an isolationist sometimes. On a regular basis she will leave the Water Tribe and just wander and explore the region around it.

    Dislikes;;
    ~Well top of the list is the Fire Nation, and to a lesser degree Firebenders. Much of what she understands about the Fire Nation and it's people directly contradicts the teachings of the Air Nomads.
    ~Like many of her people, she is non violent (under most circumstances), and believes all life is precious. All life, even insects. She would do anything to ensure she did not bring harm to another.
    ~She doesn't like violence, or the things that violence would bring.
    ~Miko really dislikes feeling like she's the outsider in any group. Like everyone belongs, and she doesn't. Part of this stems from her abandonment issues.

    Habits;;
    ~Miko has a habit of worrying. About alot. About what others think of her. She should be 'more at peace' in this regard.. but she is only human.
    ~Miko has a bad habit of sticking her nose into other people's business at times. For example.. she'll see two people arguing or debating on the street, and she'll offer her opinion. As stated, it's a bad habit she's trying to break.
    ~She has a habit of eating alot, and then feeling guilty about it. Again, only human. And a girl.
    ~A habit she picked up when she was a little girl, chewing on a piece of grass. Or a small stick. Or brushes (broken ones usually). When she was a baby, she had a habit of chewing on everything, and that's where this stems from.
    ~To often she feels like she's the only one who can help someone in any specific situation. She puts alot on herself in that regard. It's hard for her to remember when she is on a team.. she needs to work with the team.

    Strengths;;
    ~One of her strongest personality traits is her loyalty. It's difficult for her to make friends, but once she does.. she is loyal. Almost to a fault.
    ~She is very patient with other people. And part of that is also compassion towards others. All of this stems from her training as an Air Nomad, in their ways.
    ~Her Airbending is her greatest strength, perhaps. She is highly proficient in it's use, both on the battlefield and off. Given the fact that Airbending is now rarely seen (if ever), that also gives her an edge. People don't know how to defend against it well, since Airbenders haven't been seen in close to 20 years.
    ~Miko is also very swift, very agile. With the aid of her Airbending training, she can move faster than most people. Some of this is natural, and some of this is her unconsciously using Airbending to make it that way.
    ~Unlike most Bending arts, Airbending is greatly benefitted by the use of an object. In this case, a staff. As stated, Miko usually carries with her a wooden 'walking staff', but she does have an actual Air Nomad staff. She is trained in advanced staff fighting, using the staff as both a defensive weapon and an augmentation tool to her Airbending.

    Weaknesses;;
    ~She has a distinct fear of the Fire Nation,and to a lesser degree Firebenders. It isn't some kind of paralyzing fear, but it can put a block on her. Make her hesitate at the wrong times.
    ~She doesn't believe in killing, or using fatal moves. This could be seen as a weakness, as it would cause hesitation in battle. Or in life or death situations. And leaving an enemy alive, some would say, could prove to be a problem in the future.
    ~Any Airbender would also have trouble fighting in tightly enclosed spaces. Using Airbending, in part, is about using the momentum of the circular motions, and it would be difficult to build that up in an enclosed space.
    ~Miko can also be.. naive.. about certain situations. She has little problem believing everything everyone tells her is the truth, because she always tells the truth.

    Personality;;
    ~Miko is very easy going, and can be very easy to get along with. In most situations, she's very calm, and she does her best to stay clearheaded. This is how she always tries to be, just as a true Air Nomad would be.
    ~Miko gets very excitable though, often about the littlest thing.
    ~There are times when a certain depression just gets the best of her. Her friends call it her 'grumpy hour'. She'll not want to be around anyone, or feel very annoyed at every little thing around her, and an hour later she'd be just fine. This isn't prevelant for her, of course.
    ~When she has someone she calls friend, she can be very caring, even loving. She loves her friends, without condition. Even if she feels they don't understand her completely sometimes. Again, one of her best traits is how loyal she is.
    ~She can be very shy around people she's not so sure about, or plain doesn't know.
    ~When it comes to a relationship, once she warms up to someone, she is very caring, very affectionate.

    Brief History;;
    It was Miko's destiny to be born in one of the Air Temples of the Air Nomads. Her parents were both Air Nomads themselves, in addition to the ancient organization the Order Of The White Lotus.
    Miko's mother, Mitsuki, was pregnant with her. Her father, Touma, had decided they would live as a family at one of the Air Temples. They never imagined their lives would suddenly be so changed.
    With Lord Sozin's order, the Air Temples were attacked. Destroyed by the Fire Nation, using the power of the passing comet to enhance their abilities infinitely. The Air Nomads were wiped out, only a few escaped with their lives. Touma stayed at the Temple in a pointless gesture of defiance against these attacks, but he did not survive. Pregnant Mitsuki was able to escape, with the aid of dear friends.. and Air Nomads covering her escape. She was smuggled (for lack of better term) to the Northern Water Tribe, where her brother in law was. He was all she had left in the world. Until little Miko was born.
    Like her mother, like her father, Miko right away showed signs she would be an Airbender, an Air Nomad herself. But they had to keep this a secret, something the whole of the Water Tribe stressed to Miko over and over. While the child (even at a very young age) delighted in Air Bending, had it been discovered an Airbender yet lived.. it could bring the wrath of the Fire Nation. Who only recently performed open genocide against the whole of the race of Air Nomads.
    And so Miko grew up in the Northern Water Tribe, being now constantly trained by her mother in the ways of Airbending. In the ways and philosophies of the Air Nomads. It's a life Miko embraced, she loved it with all her being. She was able to perform Airbending, but only within the confines of the Water Tribe's walls, and only when they were no outsiders in the area. It was a bit restricting, but she adapted.
    Miko adapted to life in the Water Tribe of the North, living as they did. Going to school, participating in their celebrations, it was as if she was born to it. But she always knew she was an outsider, and it was always in the back of her mind.

    (This is just a simple example of my RP ability. This doesn't reflect Miko as she currently is, after all it happened..)
    A Long Time Ago...
    The cold morning had once more come around.. well those are two things that are inevitable here in the Northern Water Tribe. Cold and morning. Morning always came, and it was always cold. Young Miko lays nestled in her warm bed, her heavy polar leopard skin blankets. It was almost a heavenly place for her. But like all good things.. it had to come to an end for Miko. She whimpers and grumbles as she hears her mother calling for her.

    "Miiiiiko! Get up!"

    To be an Air Nomad is to know patience.. but sometimes Miko just runs her mother's patience right out the door and into the ice, and then closes the door on it. Slowly Miko rolls over, and she starts to crawl out of her bed. Literally crawl.

    "Miko!”

    She hears her mother yell again, and immediately she yells back to her. “I’m up!” She could almost cry, she was so comfortable. But again.. come on Miko.. you’re supposed to be better than this. You’re supposed to be part of the legacy of the Air Nomads. Utter calm.. composure.. which is easy to say when it’s not morning and cold.

    Eventually, young Miko would get herself cleaned up and dressed. Heavy and warm gear was what it was called for here, most of the time. She didn’t mind, of course. She was happy now to have anywhere to live, period. She emerges from her room, a wide smile upon her young features. “Happy day, mother.” Miko’s mother, Mitsuki, had just finished preparing their morning meal. Sea prune soup. Yum. “Happy day, little one. Ready for training today? Trekalla said she would be taking you out fishing perhaps today.” Miko smiles a little more at the mention of the family friend. Miko is quick with her food, anxious to get her day started. Once she actually gets out of bed, everything is fine in her world again. “Miko, don’t eat so fast. You’ll make yourself sick.” Miko sighs in the back of her mind, but nods as she slows down her ravenous feeding upon the sea prune soup. “Ya know mom..” Miko says suddenly as she eats, her eyes cast down “Some of my friends are taking their boat out today. They want me to come. They think they have good luck with the winds when I’m around..” She says as she cracks a small smile. “Miiiiko” her mother says in a warning tone, Miko’s eyes falling closed a little. She can tell it’s already going to be a no. But her mother continues “You know you have to be careful about your Airbending, especially if you don’t know every single person around you. It could be dangerous for us.. for these people who have taken us in.” Mitsuki’s voice grows softer towards the end. Miko nods a little, finishing her soup, her eyes still cast down. “I never said no. Of course you can.. but no Airbending.” Well it was a small victory, but a victory all the same. Miko smiles warmly as she looks up to her mother, nodding immediately. She then jumps up, pulling her heavier fur lined jacket on. “Bye mom! I’ll be back soon!” Miko says as she moves out the door, pulling her hood up. And Mitsuki just smiles, half waving to her excitable daughter as she leaves. She scoops up Miko’s empty bowl, speaking softly to herself.
    “Bye Miko, I love you.”

    Zora Hitori

    “Pain is the body's way of telling you and I that we're being pushed to our limits -- which is exactly where we are supposed to be.”
    Name;; Koizora Hitori

    Nickname;; Zora, Izo

    Age;; Despite her young appearance, Zora is actually 21 years old. People typically say she looks around the age of 18, although her rather average chest can get her mistaken for a 17 or 16-year-old.

    Gender;; Female

    Sexuality;; Koizora isn't really attracted to either gender, which would typically result in her being labeled as 'asexual', but we can go with heterosexual for now.

    Role;; Weapons Expert/Master, hailing from the Earth Nation

    Primary Weapon;; When Zora is aiming to kill or mortally wound, she'll use Retractable Tiger's claws, which are hidden under her long sleeves. When she is forced to just subdue her enemies, she'll revert to using poisons and toxins, although she does seem to carry an awful lot of weapons on her persons at all times.

    Hair Color Length and Style;; Koizora's hair is a dark brown, similar to the color of a healthy tree's bark. It is cut to her shoulder and is fairly straight. Zora usually ties some of her hair into a lazy updo, which is typically fastened using a dangerously sharp needle. Her hair has the texture of woven silk, often leading to her comrades (and maybe even total strangers) to touch and fumble with her hair. Zora used to have her hair cut long, which made her look alot older, but since her former partner liked her hair long, Koizora cut it shorter. She can often be found tousling or fumbling with strands of her hair as a 'distractor.'

    Eye Color and Shape;; Zora has very wide, childish, and bright eyes that are the color of dandelions. They are typically very glossy and highlighted, sometimes giving the appearance that she has been crying. Her eyes have subtle bags under them, although they are fairly unnoticeable. Koizora's eyes are framed by long eyelashes that are fairly thick, further defining the color of her eyes. Thin and arched eyebrows perch above her devilish eyes, one of them usually concealed by a stylish fringe.

    Facial Structure;; Zora's face is thin and defined, with sharp but complementary angles, and a sharp jawline. Her nose is fairly small and pointed, unlike many of the flatter noses of Earth Nation peoples. Her lips are full, but they tend to look chapped, due to her awful habit of lip-nibbling. Koizora's cheekbones are very subtle, allowing her face to retain some youthful curves. There is something both playful and stern about her facial features, but no one seems to be able to put their finger on it...

    Complexion/Skin;; Koizora's face, despite her age, is poreless and young, and her skin does not often get blemishes. Her skin is evenly and lightly tanned. Her cheeks generally have a rosy tint. Small, thin lacerations decorate the skin along her shoulders, legs, back, torso, and hands; scars that will never fade away.

    Height and Weight;; Slim, agile, and flexible, Zora is around 5'6", and weighs about 130 pounds, most of which is from muscle. Don't be fooled by her fragile appearance; she can and has applied brute force to her opponents.

    Body Type;; Zora has a muscular, but still feminine, build that is usually hard to notice, but this does not typically affect her overall appearance. With an average bust size for a woman her age, Zora doesn't think she's much to look at, but her legs seem to be endless. She has both long arms and legs, making her very mobile. She is extremely lithe. Koizora's poise is ever-expectant; she is always prepared.

    Voice;; Koizora has the amazing ability to mimic most voices and sounds. From time to time, she will speak in a neutral tone, although she has a tendency whine, especially laugh, in a higher pitch.

    Theme song;; I imagine Zora as being the cool, badass chracter whose appearance is very misleading, which is why I fitted her with Green Day's "Know Your Enemy!"

    Potential Interest;; [Who is your character interested in?] (You can fill this in once the cast is established)

    Equipment and Personal Artifacts;; Koizora carries around a stuffed armadillo lion named Futo-chan. It's also notable that she carries around a notorious amount of weapons, which she hides almost everywhere she can put them. A number of chains and charms hang around her neck, but she refuses to note on where they came from and if they are weapons or not.

    An engagement ring is on her right hand, middle finger, but, as before, she refuses to tell anyone where it had come from.

    Notable weapons she carries on her persons are as follows:
    • Button-triggered Tiger's Claws, which are hidden within her sleeves
    • Her belt is actually a coiled up whip, with the grip always near her hands
    • The stick used to hold her hair up doubles as a needle. Although a feeble and rather awkward weapon, it can easily be used to get out of sticky situations
    • The ribbons in her hair are very durable, and double as a sort of handcuff
    • Several poison-tipped darts are in a carefully concealed container in the heels of her shoes, although Zora keeps her blowgun with Kuro, her tamed Eel Hound
    • Often times, Koizora will bind her chest using a 14-knife sheath, although this is only for infiltration missions when it is necessary to conceal weapons
    • A long sword is strapped to her back; hip sheaths are a pain
    • A metal-edged fan, a gift to her from the Kyoshi Warriors
    • Many shuriken are in the bag at her hip

    Other;; Koizora is of the Earth Nation.

    Likes;;
    Sweet Tooth;; Zora loves sweets almost as much as she loves sharpening her weapons. Often times, Zora can be found eating sugar cubes, baked goods, and drinking fruit juice. This could be the source of her everlasting energy (as well as her bad mood.)
    Sparring;; As the Weapons Master, Koizora loves to participate in non-personal skirmishes with people -- Just to get her adrenaline running.
    Crafts;; Zora loves pottery, origami, and other crafts. If she's not making poisons or cleaning her blades, you can find folding up random scraps of paper into random figures and models.
    Weapons;; As her title suggests, Koizora is the Weapons Master selected to escort the Avatar and the rest of the party. As such, Zora likes and respects all weapons, which is why she is able to wield and care for many of them.

    Dislikes;;
    Cowards;; Koizora absolutely hates people who cannot stand up for themselves and defend their honor. She finds that they have a low self-esteem, a major turn-off for her.
    A Lack of Honor;; As mentioned before, Zora really can't stand people who won't or refuse to defend themselves. She respects warriors who have lost their weapon in battle, often taking it upon herself to offer them a sword before they commence fighting; this means that she expects the same fairness from everyone else she may stumble upon.
    Spiders;; Despite her fearless and daring disposition, Zora has a grave phobia of spiders and arachnids in general. She refuses to go anywhere near them, even if the situation demands it.
    Undercooked Noodles;; A rather strange thing to dislike, Zora hates is when her noodles aren't fully cooked, mainly because of the bad stomach pains she'll get. These bad stomach pains often result in a bad mood.

    Habits;; Koizora has more bad habits than good. She tends to either snore or whimper in her sleep, which often results in her companions getting cross. She has fairly poor table manners, like a child, but she is otherwise polite (only to complete strangers, though.) To the dismay of her friends, she is constantly complaining (but also being teased about) her breasts. Some good habits include sharpening her blades, a watchful eye, and always having a backup plan.

    Strengths;;
    Weapons;; Koizora is, as her title suggests, team Avatar's Weapons' Expert/Master. As such, Zora is proficient at analyzing the enemy's strengths and weaknesses in their offense and occasional defense. She easily recognizes poisons and their effects. Koizora is skilled and knowledgeable of many different weapons from across the world.
    Youthful;; Zora's appearance is young and fragile, which can leave her underestimated by the enemy.
    Quick, Nimble, Lithe;; Zora is very fast, and she knows it. She enjoys free-running, as she is very flexible and has an excellent sense of equilibrium.

    Weaknesses;;
    Overthinks, Over-Elaborates;; Often times, Koizora will over-think things, especially when she is sizing up her enemies. She tends to exaggerate when discussing serious matters. Koizora always comes up with complicated and confusing plans and battle strategies. Zora also likes to make things more elaborate: insert a few backflips here, a middle finger there, a spin after he shoots the arrow aimed for her head. Because of her unnecessary movements, Zora may get a bit more winded than others in battle.
    A Lack of Bending;; Zora lacks the ability to bend, which often results in her being targeted, as she has the least experience with bending. She also cannot efficiently block certain attacks, such as a burst of fire; nor can she escape certain bindings, like an orb of water or cage of earth.
    Weaker;; Koizora cannot defend herself appropriately without weapons, even though she will try and improvise. She is slim and can easily be picked up by a man her body weight, and because she doesn't weigh that much, Zora cannot do much damage without weapons. (If she ever does happen to lose them all.)
    Luggage;; Zora carries around an unnecessary amount of weapons, so many that it is almost unreasonable. Because of this, she is often weighted down, although she doesn't seem to want to show this.

    Personality;; [U]

    Confusing, at best, almost...bi-polar. She's a walking contradiction; hypocrisy trapped in the body of a young woman.

    Loyalty ~ "I won't let you down!"
    Koizora is fiercely loyal. She refuses to leave anyone behind, whether or not they ask for it. Hell, she's even willing to die for you, no matter how long you have known eachother. She's not the overbearing type of loyal, where she follows you around out of awe and infatuation, but rather the kind where she simply respects you and your opinion. One of the downsides of this is that she expects you to show the same respect for her as she does for you, which means the you will likely have a hard time gaining her trust until then.

    Social ~ "Fancy seeing you here..."
    Zora is occassionally very social and charismatic, which does aid her in making new friends and getting what she wants. But just because she is welcome to being social, doesn't mean that she isn't shy. She does have a tendency to try and cheer people up when they're down, and her friendly disposition helps greatly. Don't mistake her for the bubbly, perky type of person; Zora prefers to start relevant and on-topic conversations, not just annoying small-talk. In fact, for such a charismatic person, she seems to enjoy solitude alot better than company.

    Arrogant, but not Self-Centered ~ "I know I can do this!"
    Koizora is very arrogant, but she is only like this when referring to her skills; because she is good, and she is well-aware of it. Other than that, Zora isn't the most confident when it comes to her appearance or other things like that, although she isn't to be mistaken for someone with a low self-esteem. Just because she thinks highly of herself doesn't mean that she can't see the good in others.

    Sharp-Tongued ~ "I could care less, but if you really insist..."
    Zora's tongue is as sharp as the swords strapped to her back, and she's well aware of it. Often times she will crack sarcastic comments, and other times she will put you down entirely. Zora is the kind of person who knows exactly what to say to totally devastate someone.

    Pitiless ~ "My Master once taught me how to evaluate people's pain tolerance. Sadly, yours is not very high."
    When given the opportunity to show this, Zora is a bit of a sadist. She has conflicted feelings about bringing pain upon others, but if she feels that you deserve it, Zora will cherish bringing your death upon you in the most painful, torturous manner possible. Koizora rarely shows any emotion when killing her enemies, as this was how she was brought up.

    Stubborn ~ "I'm not leaving until this sucker is dead! You guys can go ahead without me! I'll catch up."
    A very common trait; Koizora is extremely stubborn and persistent. Her constant refusal to give up often puts her in life-threatening situations that will most likely end up hindering her pride. Quite frankly, she couldn't care less. Zora often tries and martyr herself, and she seems to be dedicated to fighting, rarely ever choosing to fall back. Most people will chastise her on her careless behaviour, and some may even wonder why she is so willing to die. Perhaps it was something in her past...

    Adrenaline Junkie ~ "There's nothing more invigorating than fighting to stay alive."
    Not as common as the aforementioned trait; Zora is constantly seeking the thrill and energy of battle. She thirsts for the course of energy through her veins, for the heart-stopping moments that most people will try and avoid. This ties in closely with her stubbornness. Most people are surprised when they see such an avid desire for excitement in the girl who is typically quiet.

    Independent ~ "I-I don't need help! I can do this on my own!"
    Zora often tries to avoid asking for people's help, her reasoning being that it will hinder her pride. She likes to do thing by herself. When asking for help is absolutely necessary, Zora will often blush and get tense, as she isn't used to needing assistance.

    Summary ~ Vivian has a relatively confusing temperament, making it very hard to classify her as a “type” of person. Vivian seems to be very calm: unless you manage to provoke her. She can only handle it for so long until she sets you straight. Vivian is good at makings friends with people, and she's also good at losing her said friends. She is very hypocritical and contradictive.

    Brief History;; WIP Koizora was born in the Earth Kingdom in the late spring, on the 24th of April. Born to a family known for its contributions during times of war, Zora was the fisrt non-bender in generations. Her mother, Meiya, was a natural born earthbender, who had high expectations for her. Meiya expected her first-born to be a male, who would serve in the army as his forefathers had. She did not get her wish- not all of it. Instead of receiving a earthbending son, Meiya received a stillborn son with eyes the color of honey. Koizora, the second child, was born only seconds after him, and, to her mother's disappointment, Zora was not a bender.

    As a child, Zora was put under the pressure of being the perfect warrior, always training and studying, even if she was a female, who were generally looked down upon in the battalions. At the age of 16, she had mastered over 50 weapons from the Earth Kingdom alone. She had studied several dozen battle strategies and decisions that changed the outcome of battles. Zora had, unfortunately, stopped growing at the age of 17. When she applied to join the army, she was turned down. Later on she would be recruited as one of the Kyoshi Warriors.

    Quingi, Zora's master and a member of the White Lotus, informed her of her ultimate duty only recently, maybe five year ago, to give her a chance to retract her apprenticeship to himself and the White Lotus, although Zora had chosen to continue her training.

    Focusing on Koizora's personal life rather than her academic life, Koizora, in a brief summary, was a very different person compared to who she was now. Prior to training, she enjoyed making pottery and picking flowers. She didn't have many friends, so she relied on scrolls and books instead. In adolescence people usually made fun of her for being so studious, but she was eventually courted by a boy named Goya at around the age of 16. Goya was very sweet and charming, but when Zora realized that he was only dating her because of her family heritage, she kicked his ass. This was when Zora realized that she couldn't trust men, and that not all people were as they seemed. Meiya, Koizora's mother, scolded her for her actions. Goya was the only boy who had the guts to make an attempt to marry Zora, and by killing their relationship, Zora had killed their family's dynasty. But she was not shameful in the least.

    It was around this time that Zora's younger sister, only 6, accidentally pricked herself with one of Zora's swift-acting poisons. Dismayed, Zora seems to have developed an overprotective side, one in which she can't seem to stop worrying about the people around her. Zora no longer carries venoms that have no antidote.

    At 20, Zora had agreed to marry Hisau, a soldier in the army who had asked her to marry him before leaving for war. Zora had waited months for his arrival, excited as she prepared for her journey to the Northern Water Tribe, but when he didn't return on her birthday, the 18th of July, Zora was sure of his death. She still keeps her ring around her finger. Despite the despair that has spilled around her, Zora's bright personality hasn't dimmed in the least.

    Still jazzifying it, but it'll be done by tonight.

    Kenri The Astonishing

    ”You face none other than the greatest warrior alive! He's strong, he's cool, he's tough, he's MANLY! He is KENRI THE ASTONISHING.”

    Name;; Kenri

    Nickname;; Kenri the Astonishing(no one else calls him this)

    Age;; 20

    Gender;; Male

    Sexuality;; Hetero

    Role;; Weaponsmaster

    Primary Weapon;; A very long staff, more of a pole actually, and whatever improvised weapon happens to be nearby, whether it be a table or a barstool or a thrown platypus raccoon(I assume these MUST exist in the Avatar Universe)

    Hair Color Length and Style;; His hair is black, and he usually wears it slightly long, though not long enough to drift into his eyes. His hair is ebony in color.

    Eye Color and Shape;; He has round, brown eyes. Often times they hold a certain amount of sadness.

    Facial Structure;; He has a slightly stocky face, and a strong chin, with a slightly large nose.

    Complexion;; He has a few scars on his face, one crossing his left eye, one going from his right nostril to the bottom of his upper lip, and three going down the side of his right cheek.

    Height and Weight;; He stands at a mere 160 cm, small for a male of his age group. He weighs in at 87 kg.
    Body Type;; He is stocky and muscular, though there is a bit of pudge on his belly.

    Voice;; His voice is usually loud and boisterous, slightly deep. When he's serious, his voice is calmer, quiet even.

    Theme song;; Arch Angel, From Two Steps From Hell. The song invokes a feeling of desperation in me. Sure, this is a fight, an epic one in fact, but this is not a battle of glory, but instead a sad fight for survival. Kenri fights to remain 'alive', in a sense. He has to cope with loss of what he perceives to be everything he has to live for, and find meaning. He becomes more desperate, fights harder, every day, and at the end he may just find his high note.

    [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dJ-QLl5qjLg]

    Potential Interest;; -Not yet- (You can fill this in once the cast is established)

    Equipment and Personal Artifacts;; He carries a small, stone talisman, carved in the shape of the Earth Kingdom's symbol, a circle with a square in the center. He wears strong, supple leather armor that allows a lot of movement. He also wears a gray cloak, torn at the end. This is intentional, as it makes people think it is a fashion statement, when it is in fact another way to hide his weapons without changing his trademark attire.

    He has a grapple hook at his waist, a rope with a strong, blunt quadruple hook at the end for scaling buildings. He always carries his staff with him, made of surprisingly strong wood. He always also keeps a dagger in his boot, a handcrossbow hidden under his cloak, and a quiver for those bolts hidden under the crossbow. Crossbow is attached to the cloak by a hidden clasp, the quiver is tied into it. Quiver has a small lid with hinges to make sure bolts aren't removed by gravity or some other non-human factor.

    He often has many small weapons hidden in a somewhat large trunk, as he finds them easy to carry around when caravans are available and easy to sell off when they aren't. Among these weapons are two normal crossbows, a replacement handcrossbow, three short swords of varying types, two handaxes meant to be wielded together, a larger axe meant to be wielded with a shield, three types of shields, a shortbow, and a long-handled mace.

    Other;; He often hides an extra weapon under his cloak, something small, often something smaller from the third paragraph above.

    Likes;;
    1. Joking around, Kenri has always enjoyed making people laugh, and will often try, try, and try again, even when it has gotten annoying.
    2. Bragging, Kenri finds it easy to keep people from worrying about him if he brags a lot, and it makes people dislike him enough to keep them at an emotional distance.
    3. Style, Kenri likes to battle in style. He wields a staff not because of it being non-lethal, nor because of it being a strong defensive weapon, but because it allows him to easily go airborne during many of his attacks, and allows him to get past obstacles in a quick and fun fashion.
    4. Taking Risks, Kenri likes to take risks, even, hell, ESPECIALLY unnecessary ones.

    Dislikes;;
    1. People worrying about him, Kenri has a whole lot of issues, including suicidal tendencies. He finds it highly uncomfortable, as a result, to have people caring enough about him to care much for him.
    2. Work, Kenri is somewhat lazy about jobs he refers to as 'tedious', he hates doing dishes, he hates cleaning up after animals, he hates cleaning up dishes that have been used by animals... He is not averse to more 'hands on' pursuits such as helping set up camp and lugging heavy items, however.
    3. Being touched, Kenri has serious issues with being touched, even something as informal as a handshake. He always wears gloves as a result. Hugging him, or invading his 'bubble', causes him a lot of anxiety and nervousness.

    Habits;;
    1. Kenri will often say things as they pop into his head, and rarely thinks before he speaks.
    2. Kenri always has to have his hands occupied, so when he walks with one hand clutching his staff, the other is often grasping onto the edge of his cloak, or his belt, or his grapple hook, or fidgeting nervously.
    3. Kenri has 'bad days' when he doesn't interact with others, is heavily withdrawn, and ends these days by sleeping seperate from whatever group he may be with. He always returns to the group with bruises on his face and body, one time with a broken nose.

    Strengths;;
    1. Courage, Kenri will not buckle under danger. Period. He has no concept of the word, 'fear'.
    2. Confusion-Fu, Kenri's style is damn near unpredictable, a whirlwind of, often airborne, kicks, punches, crossbow bolts, staff blows, and random tossed animals.
    3. Willful, Kenri has a lot of willpower. He will not break under physical torture, and when the going gets tough, he's still going and ready for more.
    4. Strong, Kenri has a surprising, even incredible amount of upper and lower body strength. Considering his fighting style requires for him to make himself go airborne very often, this is somewhat obvious.
    5. Mask, Kenri is very good at hiding his emotions, and thus is a good spy and poker player. He also has skill with makeup, and can hide his identity if given supplies, very well.

    Weaknesses;;
    1. Threshold, When the going gets tough, Kenri gets going...up to a point. There's only so much emotional battering someone can take, and it turns out that keeping his will so strong takes a lot of effort from him. At some point, he won't even stop a moment to recover. He'll just suddenly curl up in a ball in the corner of the room, or attempt suicide.
    2. Sad Clown, Kenri likes joking around, and it has become something of a coping tool. He hides a cocktail of serious problems, not the least of which is a shattered self-esteem, and has to keep people at a distance.
    3. Ditz, Kenri isn't incompetent by any means, but he often seems that way because of his odd, boastful and boisterous demeanor. He may not be trusted with jobs appropriate for him, based on the impression he leaves.
    4. Anti-Social, Kenri can't understand others very well, as a result of his past and of pushing people away. As a result, he's prone to paranoia, saying the wrong thing, and other issues.
    5. Death Seeker, Kenri doesn't really care much if he lives or dies in a fight. He has even attempted suicide via battle a few times in the past, and can't be trusted to remain unharmed if he's fighting alone.

    Personality;;
    At first glance, Kenri is a typical idiot. He is a boastful and loud jackass whose claims far outreach his skills. He will joke around at the worst and most inappropriate of times. Sometimes he'll be seen with odd injuries, no doubt from some drunken barfight. When he attempts any romance with a woman, he'll blush deeply, stammer about, then find a way to leave as quietly and quickly as possible.

    Delve deeper, and Kenri is an odd man who likes to joke around. Due to his past, he has a shattered self-esteem, and is dependent on others for his mental health. He jokes around partially because it's something he loves, and partially because he feels like he needs to contribute something to make people care about him. At the same time, he pushes them away, because he doesn't want them to feel sad when he's gone.

    Brief History;; [What was your character’s history like?][A minimum of two paragraphs with an issue of ten sentences each is required.]
    Kenri lived in a typical, coastal Earth Kingdom village for a while. It was small, something of an outskirt village. There were a few garrisoned troops just in case, but over all it wasn't well defended. Considering it had little in the way of resources for an enemy conqueror, no one felt much fear of being attacked by, say, the Fire Nation.

    One day, however, a ship under the banner of the fire nation arrived. Their leader delivered their terms, peaceful surrender, a large amount of their available resources, and thirty of their strongest men as laborers for one year, and a suspected Fire Nation traitor to be captured as a prisoner for an indefinite amount of time, and they would leave the village in peace.

    The village could have survived without trouble, had the mayor swallowed his pride and agreed. Instead, the first blow was struck that very day, the mayor himself launched a boulder at the raider messenger, who barely escaped with his life. The reaction of the raiders was swift and brutal, and Kenri was dragged in chains with his father, mother, and brother. Behind him, the farm that they had worked on as being scavenged for food for the hungry raiders, who burned what they could not use.

    From the raider ship, they were transported to a large, floating prison, made of metal so the Earth Benders of the populace could not fight back. Most were put to work, with the especially old being killed, and the young being given smaller, more simple jobs, and being required to attend lessons from a 'teacher', or rather, a man who was trying to convert them to good Fire Nation citizens. Kenri hated both the lesson and the work, and felt it was a blessing when, at the age of thirteen, he was put to heavy labor, which he found himself to be very proficient at. He even enjoyed it.

    Kenri's mother had previously been of the Fire Nation, until she left for the Earth Kingdom to find a better life. However, she wasn't the one the Raiders were looking for, and was allowed to stay with the other prisoners, rather than being executed, as the captain found it a little overly cruel to kill a woman just for the sake of it.

    From there, Kenri's mother and father became leaders among the prisoners, trying to keep their spirits up. Kenri's mother used a subtle form of firebending to keep other prisoners warm, Kenri's father covered the shifts of prisoners too sickly, too tired, too weak to work their full loads. Kenri learned the value of helping others from them.

    Kenri's older brother looked after him as best he could, until Kenri joined the laborers. At the age of fourteen, having spent five years on the ship, Kenri learned about an escape plan. Apparently a group of water bender warriors from the Northern Water Tribe had learned of their plight, communicated with some of the prisoners through a small group of Firebender guards who were more sympathetic to the prisoners' plight than they were loyal to their nation, and formulated a plot to rescue them.

    His eighteen year old brother, a firebender like their mother, would cause a large explosion and blame it on a guard. He would claim the guard was trying to kill him and his mother for being 'traitors', and that he was claiming the captain was weak and foolish for allowing her to live. The guard would deny it, arguments would ensue, and other guards would be distracted by an event occurring on the prison ship. Meanwhile, prisoners who had been making improvised weapons would take position, subtly, and attack the guards, brutally. The waterbenders would attack any guards who attempted to interfere, with a small group of them breaking off to secure the lifeboats. The prisoners would escape from the lifeboats, with a few being taken on water tribe rafts, then quickly would be taken to the water tribe ship, hidden on a nearby island.

    The plan was set to happen in eight months when he learned of it, due to the Water Tribe Warriors requiring reinforcements to pull it off, and during that time he started a relationship with a girl named Lillian. They were both goofy, braggart sorts, and liked to solve issues in a hands-on sort of way. Both had hidden insecurities, and both found a sympathetic ear in the other. The fact that she was very pretty and a talented apprentice Earthbender didn't make her less attractive in Kenri's eyes by any means.

    During that time, also, a somewhat old guard with brown, cold eyes took a special interest in him. Kenri realized at some point that the guard was stalking him, and he didn't know why. He confided in his parents that the guard was following him, and suddenly he found one or the other always with him, guarding him.

    During the sixth month of that year, four things happened. One, his father died of a plague, and his body was burned. Second, the guard made his move, and received a nasty burn from Kenri's mother. Third, his mother was executed for harming a guard. Fourth, the guard made his move again.

    Kenri became withdrawn from all others. The guard stopped following him. His brother and Lillian worried about him. He didn't socialize with others, he just went off somewhere to be alone. He insisted nothing was wrong, nothing at all...

    The escape began. Kenri did his part rather well, which was, 'move to the life rafts, help anyone else who seems to be having trouble'. One of the prisoners fighting was injured, and he helped the man to the life rafts.

    That part of the escape went well, and they even managed to get to the Water Tribe ship without issues. However, when a Fire Nation Warship was sent to destroy them before they could truly escape, things went poorly.

    The Water Nation Warriors were outnumbered 2 to 1. It was a mad dash to escape. They went to land as quickly as they could, and escaped on foot with the prisoners. Most were recaptured and executed, or worse, tortured for information, then executed. Among these was Lillian, when she and Kenri had been hiding in the woods, and the Fire Nation troops were coming...

    And she figured they'd be satisfied with their search if they caught a moderately skilled earth bender.

    He had sworn never to avoid danger again after that day.

    When he and his brother were just near an Earth Kingdom town, with a small group of Water Tribe Warriors and a few of the other original prisoners, including the man he'd saved, the Raiders caught them. His brother gave him the family talisman and told him to take the wounded, elderly and the young to safety.

    His brother and the Water Tribe Warriors fought valiantly, while he got the young and elderly to safety. He, two prisoners, a previously wounded Water Tribe Warrior, and a little girl named Macy, got to town, then waited for the benders to arrive. They never did.

    They became something of a family, making their way in that town. Kenri waited until they were well off enough to be alright without his help, then went out into the woods with an iron blade. He went to the very place that they were attacked, where he had last seen his brother. Nothing seemed to matter anymore. Everyone he'd ever cared for, everyone he'd ever loved, was dead. Now, it was time to join them...

    He awoke, the wound in his stomach was bandaged up. He was laying in his bed, and the old man he'd saved before, who'd been wounded while fighting, was there.

    Kenri waited for a time, then screamed through cracked lips, through a dry throat, through a haze of tears and rage and anguish, "LET ME DIE! There's nothing for me anymore! I'm not needed, I'm unnecessary! Just let it end. I saved your life, so let me take my own!"

    As he recovered, he became friends with the old man, who revealed himself to be a member of the White Lotus. Kenri expressed his desire to help others who were harmed, and at the age of seventeen, he was sent to Master Peng.

    She taught him to fight, to defend others. He established a name for himself as an up-and-coming weapons prodigy, and rumors were spread of his origins. He never cleared these up, preferring them to the truth. He was on the recovery now, but he still didn't particularly want to remain alive. He constantly yearns to actually, genuinely bond with another human being, but he isn't entirely sure how to go about it.

    Posting Example;; A barmaid yawned in boredom as she surveyed the room. It was a slow business day, to say the least. Whereas last week, during the Summer Solstice, business had boomed, this week, when everyone was cleaning up after their massive parties and had to return to work, she wondered why they even had the bar open. Sure, some folks liked to end a good day's work with a pint or two, but this was no village of drunks, and those that did desire their brew so much often had small stashes anyhow.

    Indeed, the only interesting thing that was happening in the tavern was the boisterous young man with the staff, enthralling other drunks with his 'stories of incredible valor'. The man was a braggart, as far as she could see, and his claims were outrageous. Defeating ten men without getting a scratch? Fighting two firebenders with a broken arm, and winning? Defeating a bandit waterbender with a well tossed animal?

    Foolishness.

    "And then I wooed her with my incredible charms!" the man with the staff proclaimed with a grin, "Because I am Kenri the Astonishing, and no woman can resist my seductive acts of...er...seduction!"

    Having had enough of that, the barmaid approached him, "Oh, is that true now? Well, come on, seduce me."

    The room went silent. The tension could be cut with a knife. Kenri looked at her, the expression on his face could only be described as astonished, the irony of which was not lost on the barmaid. Kenri opened his mouth as if to speak, then closed it, then opened it, blushing deeper and deeper the whole time.

    "WOULDYOULOOKATTHETIMEIGOTTAGOSAVEPEOPLEBYE!" he proclaimed as he left the bar hastily.

    The barmaid snorted, well, that was one irritant gone, though the boss would probably scold her for driving away business, even if he agreed that the man was a regular jackass.

    Three weeks later, she met him again, under less favorable circumstances.

    Many villagers like her planned to travel when they were young, at least a little, to avoid being bitter when they grew old about having wasted their lives in a village without knowing what's beyond. Her particular travel had been to her sister's and brother-in-law's home, on foot. The Earth Kingdom was a safe place, if you stuck to the roads. It was on her return, however, that a highwayman, with a group of four cronies, held her up for money. To her displeasure, she'd spent all of her savings, save for three copper pieces, when she'd been away. This did not satisfy the men.

    "Well, you have family, a ransom then," the highwayman said, then nodded to his men. They approached, and she turned to run. They were quickly upon her, however, and had roughly tied her up in rope within minutes. One of them licked his lips, grinned at her, and drew his face close to hers.

    A shiver went down her spine, but she felt a sigh of relief exit her mouth when the leader of the highwaymen punched his subordinate in the ear.

    "Dammit, we are bandits, not demons. If you're kidding, it's not funny," the highwayman proclaimed.

    "Hmm, Honor Among Thieves, eh?" a familiar voice had spoken.

    The barmaid looked, and saw that same boisterous jackass, with a confident grin on his stocky face. He approached the leader, looked up, way up, into the man's eyes, and spoke.

    "Well, nice to meet you, sir. Sorry it couldn't be on better circumstances, but it just so happens you have a woman captured. Now, this is something a manly man like me cannot allow," Kenri boasted, then brought his staff into a fighting position, "So, either surrender and allow me to turn you over to the guards, OR I will beat you into a pulp and take what's left of you to prison."

    The other bandits took a moment to laugh at the short warrior, but the highwayman seemed to actually read something in his stance. Unlike the others, he took a step back, and drew his blade.

    "Don't underestimate your foes, boys," he said, "Now tie this one up too, we'll relocate as previously planned and leave him a knife to cut himself out with. This one's brave, it'd leave a bad taste in my mouth to kill him for being stupid as well."

    The barmaid closed her eyes, not wanting to see the ensuing violence. She heard a series of large thwacks, exclamations of shock and pain, and a few boastful taunts.

    "Haha! See how I fly above you like an angelic savior! See how your measly swords and axes are outmaneuvered by a simple length of wood!"

    At this, the barmaid opened one eye.

    Two of the bandits were down for the count, unconscious. One other was nursing a broken nose, while the highwayman and the last bandit held their rapiers offensively. She blinked.

    Kenri was balanced on the tip of his staff by one hand. His feet were moving rapidly. They descended too fast for one bandit to react, and added a concussion on top of his broken nose, knocking him out. Kenri fell to his feet, bringing up his staff to parry a rapier thrust, then rolled forward, shoving his staff forward to trip the highwayman. He somehow managed not to get tangled up in the man, continuing his roll and standing up quickly, to swing his staff with force. The last remaining bandit other than the highwayman was hit in the bicep, and he screamed in pain and dropped his rapier. The highwayman was up now, and thrusted his rapier forward...

    "ACK! I mean, HAHA! A trifling wound! It will not stop the beacon of justice himself though! Kenri the Astonishing!"

    Kenri shifted to the side just enough for it to tear into his side, rather than hit him in the torso proper. He polevaulted himself into the air with his staff, not missing a bit, and from there kicked the highwayman in the side of the head, knocking him unconscious like most of his men.

    The one with the broken arm, Kenri ignored, as he undid the barmaid's bonds. When he succeeded, she hugged him, and then found herself rudely shoved off-balance. Kenri was blushing deeply, and seemed highly disturbed.

    "Ah...don't do that," he said softly, then cleared his throat. The blush receded, his grin returned.

    "Now, to your home, fair maiden! Kenri the Astonishing helps ladies across the street and across the Kingdom, and even across the world! Name your destination, I will get you there!" he proclaimed, looking up at her.

    She nodded. Savior or not, he was still pretty annoying.

    "It's a nice little village to the west..." she began, leading the way with him proclaiming how 'no foe would ever lay a hand on her'.
