I heard somewhere that white on black is a lot easier on the eyes and it's easier for dyslexics to read white on black as well. I say go for the second option. For me personally, the numerals stand out better anyway. They both look really neat. ^_^

Honestly, I think the black one is the best option -- It can go either causal or fancy (as the design of the face is fairly intricate and easily can go with a more dressed up outfit), where the white one is definitely more dressy looking over all (and I don't feel like it works quite the same on a casual level). The black one is the more practical option because it will go with more, the time is easier to see with the black face, and the gears stand out more against the dark color, too.

Just my two cents.

Yeah, I was probably leaning more towards black, but he generally wears a lot of dark clothes, so I wasn't sure which one he'd appreciate more.

Considering the kind of dude he is, I should probably go black like you guys say, it's not like he won't be able to wear it with a suit.

Until I saw those watches I didn't know what I was missing out on. I was going to be like "yeah but if you get him a watch make sure it's nice and not one of those lame ass plastic/rubber ones." And god damn those are beautiful. Love the steampunk design. @_@
