The Keepers Interest thread

Every religion has a Nirvana, a heaven. There are many different beliefs and reasoning to how you get to that sought after place of eternal rest, but no matter what path you take they all lead to the same place. Before a soul can get there they must travel through the ward. There's a long and complicated process to the whole thing but basically a soul travel from one place to another and in order to do that a soul must past through the gates.

The gates lie within the Keep which is a large palace on top of Riouk, the flying city. My home. Inside the Keep are the guardians. They watch over the passing souls and make sure they get to their destination. We hardly ever see the guardians ourselves goal. That's the job of the speakers.

Those of us who live outside the Keep are called Otium-Animus, but we call ourselves The Keepers. Our job is to keep everything functioning, hence the name keepers. We have a variety of jobs and depending on those jobs we are given titles. A keeper who works in the steam rooms is called a steam boy or girl. Those who clean the palace surrounding the Keep are called scrubbers. My favorite are the nubs who scare away the sky whales. I have no idea why they're called nubs.

Then there's the roamers like me. We are the keepers who don't have an everyday job. We go where the bell calls us. Each section of keepers has a bell and when they need help rather it be helping out the steam boys or keeping a sky whale from crashing into The Ward. There are many different keepers here on Riouk but we are all equal. Life here is ever lasting and we're always working but we're always happy because we know the work we do is important. A friend of mine once told me, "We're just as important as the guardians you see. Because with out us who would take care of the Ward? And if they were taking care of the Ward, who would watch over the souls. We are two pieces of one tool and that tool is the key to balance." I kind of like how he put it. Life here is great and nothing bad ever happens in the Ward.

At least, not until the day the half souls came.

Okay so I'll go into more detail as the world develops but first I want to know if anyone is interested in rping this?

Think steam punk for this rp I believe that's the setting I'll be going with. Also I'll explain a few things...

sky whale- giant whales who fly, pretty harmless but if they crash into the city they can cause a lot of damage.

Guardians- if anyone's ever played Shadow of the Colossus then that's basically what the guardian's would look like. Giant creatures that are very powerful.

Riouk- A flying chunk of land with a palace and town on it. Also has steam pipes and such sticking out.

The Keep- Part of the palace where the Guardians live and the gates are.

The Ward- The world of the spirits. There are several parts to it but the focus of the story will be on Riouk.
