about half an hour ago, an idea came to my head for an rp. in this, each character would have a Spirit partner, who stays with them at all times, and can be used however you want. the special thing about these spirits is that besides base powers, each spirit would have it's own individual abilities that correspond with its name, and with the right words, you can change the spirit's name.
the rules:
each character starts with a spirit, and each spirit starts with a name and a name piece (for example, my spirit's name is Orihime with a name piece of Kiba), if you want, you can exchange one name piece from the base name with another name piece you know (such as if i were to trade the name piece Ori from Ori|Hime with Kiba, forming Kibahime) and the new meaning becomes the new powers, (Orihime, meaning weaving princess, turns to Kibahime, meaning fang princess)
you would gain name pieces by defeating opponents, usually in a sanctioned match. the loser has to give the winner a name piece, but if a player doesn't have a name piece to give, they can't fight (except for in special circumstances i will explain)
this rp will be separated into multiple parts, indicated by the color of text the player uses. the parts are as follows:
green is tournament. the tournament is purely for fighting and gaining name pieces. this is one of the special circumstances i was talking about, if a player competing in the tournament has no more name pieces, they get one more chance, if they lose, they are removed from the tournament for that set.
blue is the Supernatural Police Division. the supernatural police division has the job of stopping criminals using spirits. you cannot gain names from defeating criminals as part of the police, but if you get promoted, you can choose one name from a list of names you collected from the criminals. promotions will be decided by a point system.
red is the criminals. a criminal can gain any names from the people they defeat, as they force them out, but if a criminal is caught, that character cannot play any more, though the spirit can be reused.
yellow is a citezen. a citezen is free to go about their daily lives without fighting, and there are auctions for names for normal citezens too.
ideas are appreciated, but not all will be used obviously.

new thought. spirits and the people they bond with share their state of health. for instance, if the summoner gets drunk, so will the spirit. a notable exception will be sleep, it will be possible for a spirit to act on their own while the summoner is sleeping.

I have to say this looks interesting but I have a few questions. First does any language apply for the powers ? Like for example,I think your spirits name is in Chinese but would Latin work ? Second question if the human dies does the spirit die as well or vice versa ?
