    RP info:
About a year ago, a lottery opened up. The prize was being sent into paradise to compete in challenges of physical and mental strength for victory on a new game show, Gambit. Only a low fee and an easy application and your name was thrown in a bowl to await the drawing. A few months ago the names were drawn and the new contestants contacted and told to start packing.

But what the contestants weren't told was probably the most important thing they should have known. They weren't told that not only were the challenges difficult, straining, and dangerous; they were deadly. That the contestant that lost the challenge and was expected to be eliminated would instead be executed. That advancing into the next round of the show would not only bring you closer to the monetary prize and the title of victory, but it meant surviving for at least another day.

    ---

    More... info:
This roleplay is going to be the gameshow Gambit. The contestants are going to compete in a challenge each day on the remote tropical island they were sent to. The challenges will usually be physical challenges that can be solved through strength and speed just as much as through mental wit and strategy. The overall rule of the challenges is that everything is fair and nothing is foul, and they can achieve their goal in any means they wish to. After each challenge the loser will be killed in some horrific manner. This was not disclosed to the contestants or the audience watching the live show at home. Because of the murdering, we're going to have a few NPC's to be the losers for the first few rounds so we have a chance to play with our characters and possibly have them escape or at least attempt escape.

There are no other people on the island- the cameras are hidden throughout the island, the challenges instructed via letters and technology, and the sailor who dropped the contestants off is long gone. Once they arrive they'll have no way off the island, and they'll find they must participate in the challenges against each other and try their hardest not to come in last if they want to survive. Luckily, housing and dinner is provided for each night after the end of the day's challenge.

Think "Total Drama Island" meets "Survivor" meets "Hunger Games".

The application will be more or less the basic one, but make sure you're gonna flesh it out and have motives for entering the competition and all! The roleplay is gonna be casual to advanced.

Adriane and Maykxor are the co-GMs and have final say in submissions and/or regulation of this RP.

    Questions/comments/suggestions/etc. are welcome!

Some people think in pictures, others think in words. I think in pictures with subtitles.

Cool people i've met over the years!

  2. #2
    Name: Ann Hake
    Age: 23
Appearance: Ann has clear blue eyes and long black hair tied into a ponytail. She wears grey sweat pants, a blue t-shirt, a black hoodie with two wide white stripes near the abdomen section, and green striped running shoes. She's about 5 feet and 2 inches tall, and is rather thin. She has a slight tan on her arms but it's not very visible.
Personality: Ann doesn't really care too much about what goes on in her life. She mostly goes with the flow and tries to avoid conflict when she can. She spends most of her free time reading or doing puzzles. She doesn't have too many friends because many find her to be too emotionless. She isn't without emotion she just prefers not to get overly emotional or show her emotions to others. She likes the quiet and hates loud noises. She doesn't like it when people bother her with chores or work. She tends to do the bare minimum of work. She has no real goals or ambitions, she just wants to get through life with as little conflict as possible. Despite all of this, she does care about other people she just doesn't want to interfere in their lives so she tends to leave others alone.
Strengths/weakness: Is pretty smart. Good at problem solving skills. Keeps calm under pressure. Doesn't work well with other people. Has a tough time getting motivated.

Does Ann have a last name? Other than that, it looks great on my end and unless Mayk sees anything off, it's accepted!

**Also an all around note for everyone's characters- You don't have to reveal it in the app or at all in the game if you so wish, but it's good if you know the motives behind your character entering the lottery to be on the show.

Oh, I didn't think a last name mattered. I'll edit one in.

Also, I have a motive in mind for my character but I'm not going to reveal it yet.

    Awesome!

    ---

    Name: Catherine “Cat” Knight
    Age: 23
Appearance: Cat is about five feet and six inches off the ground, her limbs and torso in proportion with each other. Her body is tanned toned with muscle from years of running and playing soccer in the sun, but is otherwise rather average in appearance. Without a smile her face is tough, her mouth naturally in a frown and her hazel eyes dark and calculating. With a smile, her features soften and blend together, and there is no longer anything particularly special about her look; she’s just another pretty face. Framing her face, her hair falls in messy waves of hazelnut, chestnut, and honey. She resembles a younger and more ordinary-looking version of Eliza Dushku.
Personality: In a word, Cat is a dreamer. Some might say she was born with the spirit of an adventurer, but was forced to realize the dangers and risks of adventuring, and in the end fear won out. She travels the world on conquests, but only when she’s sleeping. Cat thinks that an adventure would be an amazing thing to go on, but it’s impractical and hazardous and irresponsible and only useful for the imagination. As an artist, Catherine sees the world differently from most people. She has an attention to color and small details that will occasionally make her miss the bigger picture. She also has a knack for finding the gray areas in a black or white subject, contributing to her extremely indecisive nature. She also fears stepping on other’s toes or imposing her ideas onto others, and will let them decide for her. She is trained to keep a conversation and keep others happy, but much prefers to keep to herself. When asked about the glass of water, she’ll let you know that no matter if the glass is half-full or empty, you’re still missing of half a glass of water – she’s a pessimistic realist.
Strengths: She works well on teams or partnerships or by herself, a good problem solver, physically strong, fast, and agile, not afraid of taking a fall or getting hurt physically, has good sportsmanship, isn’t easily threatened
Weakness: She’s scared of bugs, spiders, rodents, terrified of being emotionally hurt, has a very hard time with emotional trust, sometimes denies things completely (the idea of dying if she loses, etc.), doesn’t do well when she is being yelled at

** please be aware more stuff will probably be added as afterthoughts

    Name: Lance Neroni
    Age: 25

Appearance: Lance stands a respectable 5 foot 10, short enough to share the same altitude as those around him, but tall enough to stand out in the crowd. Personally, Lance sees himself as just another every day ordinary regular Joe. Just another blond haired blue eyed chap to add among the population. While he did have a rather trendy haircut, silky straight strands that he chose to style in a rugged way, so did everybody else in the world. His most distinguishing features however, would have to be his cheekbones and jaw line, which almost seemed to meet up in rather crude points. His deep blue eyes were always so soft, and gazing, as if he had been staring off into the distance for all his life wondering what would lie ahead.
As far as fashion goes, Lance was never really all that big on the latest trends. A good pair of blue jeans and a clean t-shirt went a long way. Not to say he was a red-neck hick, but Lance preferred comfort over outward appearance.

Personality: Lance is an analyst to the bone. Always looking for the most efficient option almost to the point of perfectionism. Not only was Lance a perfectionist, he was extraordinarily chatty. He can talk your ear off all day long and say good bye still having a mouthful to say. He loved people. He loved getting to know people. But more importantly, he liked to see how people thought, how people reacted. To Lance, life was just one big science experiment for him to toy around with every variable and explore every option. As much as he would deny, Lance was a rather sociable, likable person. Always up for a good joke, or share one of his own, Lance never failed to seize a moment of fun. Sure he would have his tiffs here and there with the occasional asshole but all in all Lance believed that people were generally decent, it was just their brains that made them stupid.

Strengths: Being the brainiac that Lance was, he was very clever. He tended to outsmart his peers and use wit rather than strength to get by in life. Leave the heavy lifting to those who were fool enough to do it. He wasn't weak, sure he could lift a finger when he really needed to, but why work harder when you can work smarter? That combined with his sociable tendencies allowed him to form quick bonds and trust. But what Lance deemed was his most valuable quality was his undying determination to see a job through no matter how hopeless.

Weakness: Needless to say, Lance wouldn't be your first pick for the major league football quarterback. His below par strength leaves the body builders towering over him. Speed was Lances worst enemy and when rushed, Lance would falter and make mistakes, which in turn, frustrated him leading him down a spiral of even more mistakes. As far as irrational distastes, Lance despises superheroes as their unbelievable perfection to an almost immortal like stature just seemed silly. That among a grocery list of things he simply didn't like; gardening, being too much of a neat freak that he threw most stuff out: occasionally something he would later need and regret, and breakfast cereal.

Also I don't see why Ann shouldn't be added. Welcome to Gambit!

The better question is... why dont you have something against it?

Maybe a frosted flake killed his father by going into his lung, perhaps when he was a child he went on a school field trip and fell into a vatt of cocoapuffs and gets nightmares, suppose he found a bug in one and now every rice crispy looks like a magot, or more possibly he looked at the calorie count nutritional information and decided against it for his better health. DONT JUDGE HIM!

It was just a question born of curiosity, dear Mayk.

And it may not be nutritious but most of them are delicious.
