Welp, I've little experience as a GM, but there's really only one way to change this. I've had an idea bouncing around in my head for a while now, so here it is:
In a high-fantasy world, three or four individuals (the player characters) are abducted by a demon and forced to participate in a "game" for the amusement of himself and his fellow demons. There will be several trials to challenge the contestants skill, cunning, and morality, and the ultimate prize is their freedom. Bad luck/performance will result in injury, mutilation, mutation, affliction, and possibly eventual death, and contestants will often be forced to work with or against each other.
The RP would be slightly dice-based, but the stats would be simple, and all the dice-rolling would be done behind the scenes by me. There will be minimal hand-holding: when a character screws up, they suffer the consequences.
All-in-all, it's highly experimental idea, and I don't have everything worked out yet, but I wanted to throw this idea out here.

The nature of the trials? Hrm...well, I suppose I haven't given that as much thought as I should. I was considering the standard dungeon-crawling fare, but I suppose that would result in everything being up to the dice, and that wouldn't be very interesting...
