[Duke of Night]

Long ago Merlin had a nightmare: That the four horsemen had come, and had taken the world. Disease struck, millions starved, war rampaged, and finally, it was all ended with a single blow. But there was one who could save them...
Merlin awoke King Arthur, and told him this. Arthur gathered those who Merlin detected would once give ancestory to the child that would save them all. Each was given an amulet that would grant them certain powers, however, it would have it's side-effects as well... These family's are magical, each descendant with a different power, able to travel to the World Between in their subconcious, and unlock their mind's full potential. Memories were passed on generation to generation through DNA, stored in the mind to help the next generation with magic, skill, or information. However, memories with emmense emotional attachment followed, and these family's had a bloody, horrid life, each generation growing more insane, more powerful, more trapped. The gory memories passed down making them into blood-lusting, scyzophrenic, psychic human-mutants. However, each family was also assigned a Protector, bound by soul to this family, their generations would have the same gift- as well as the same curse- they would protect the BloodLine in the World Between from Death, and his soldiers.

It has been many years, and the Blood Lines have faded from nobility and fame, they and they're protectors still existing in a silence they only knew hid so much more. It is the year 2020, and this game is coming to a close. Death sets up for the final strike, with which he will take the world. But first he must destroy the Blood Lines and their Protectors.

Confront Death and his Agents in the real world, but when you sleep you travel to the Inbetween- a link from your world to all others, including Death's!
That realm is filled with strange ceatures, a place where all minds meet in dreams and subconcious. As an other-worldly being you will fight your subconcious for control here, and be able to roam it freely, look out though, because there's a lot more danger here than out there!

Welcome, finally, to the Crimson Knights RolePlay! This is only the beginning, and hopefuly we're far from the end.

Shade was in his throne room, located in the heart of the Realm of Shadow. He had recently been reawakened, being called by Death to take up the duties he had been born to do. Now he was waiting for orders from Death on who to eliminate in the fastest way possible. That was his job, the one thing he knew how to do, and he was the undisputed best at his job. As such, he had underlings, only a few, hand-selected and trained for eons to be his minions.

Alucard was up early in the morning. Something not all that unusual for him. He was in the armory, dressed in his normal clothes, seen in appearance, that he had built using the metal in the earth, that doubled as a training gym. He picked two knives and twirled them for a few moments before walking to the center of the room. He closed his eyes momentarily, and when he opened them, two air elementals that wielded a sword and shield and a spear respectively. Alucard gave a small grin, slipped back into a defensive position, and gestured in a 'come hither' motion with his knives. The elementals rushed him.

The swords man coming straight at him with the spear man coming directly behind him, the spear raised to stab over it's companions head. Alucard stepped back, dodging fluidly the spear thrusts and sword strokes. Then, they switched up their attack. The spear suddenly came from his left side instead of straight on as the owner shifted it's grip. Simultaneously, the swords stroke came from his right side. Seeing no other option, Alucard dropped. Doing a sweep with his leg at the same time. The elemental fell down, acting like a real battle with humans. And Alucard slammed a knife into it's chest. He threw the other knife, stabbing the other elemental in the throat, and both dissipated, dropping the knives to the ground. Alucard stooped to pick up his knives breathing slightly hard. Stretching, he turned around to go grab a bow. Archery next.

"So your sure?"

"Have I been wrong yet?" The voice boomed out of the darkness. In a place so dark light was a thing only dreamt of two beings met. One in the form of a large raven and named as such. The other was just there, unseeable unless he chose to be. If it wasn't for his voice, which seemed to be whispering everywhere at once, you would never know he was present. They had met many times before but never for something as important as this. All the important denizens of Nevermore had felt it. Time, something that didn't normally bother them, was reaching its end. War was comming.

"Are you going to pick a side?"

"Not just yet, I will watch and help if I feel like it. And you?"

"Ha. I'm not concerned. We shall speak again traveller." And with that the voice was gone. The raven gave a flap and started rising. Around it light started to appear as Raven ascended back to the mortal plane. He passed different creatures as he changed planes. At this speed they didn't have time to bother him. As he kept ascending faint outlines appeared around him. Gradually they solidified into shapes, then buildings. Raven reached the mortal plane landing on the roof of a sky scraper as rain splashed down around him.

So it was true, Death was back.

Audrey was walking from her apartment on her way to the cosmetology school she attended. She held her bag close and simply stared ahead of her. She hadn’t felt like taking her car today, and the school wasn’t a far walk anyway. She tilted her head up to look at the sky, her heavy brown bangs flaring out a bit as her long brown hair fell behind her shoulder. She took a deep breath and then turned her head to glance at those around her. Around each person was an aura… some orange, some lavender, some blue… She always stayed away from the ones with a red ring though. She just wanted to get through the day so she could go home and sleep… where she could enter a completely different realm. Though she knew it was much more dangerous than real life, the atmosphere drew her in.

Amy stared at the screen, not really seeing what was on it. The sounds coming from the television weren't really what she was envisioning in her mind. Instead of the love story that it was supposed to be, Amy was thinking more along the lines of a plot to murder someone. It didn't always work out, but it could be amusing. She had woken up, like always sprawled across her bed, then migrated to the kitchen where she made coffee, lit a cigarette and proceeded to fill her time with watching the television upside down. Normally this didn't last very long since her bloodline was an early riser, but today, without realizing it, she had taken too much time for her foolish game. Her attention was drawn back to the kitchen, where her eyes landed on the clock and she rolled off of the couch, frantically headed for the bedroom. She dressed quickly, coincidently in the same clothes she had worn the day before and she grabbed a handful of her jewelry before running out the door and to her car. While driving she applied a little mascara, perfume, brushed her hair and put on her bangles, rings, and gold chains.
When she arrived, she hurried out of the car and inside the armory, using her freaky link to locate her bloodline without having to use her eyes. It looked like he was just starting archery as she arrived.
"Hey," She said rather dully. Getting up so quickly from her upside down position had given her something of a headache and she was a big baby when it came to physical pain, "How are the arrows?" She asked looking at him with a small smile.
Alucard was her bloodline, the one person in the world that she had to protect against all costs. From who you ask? Death. Yeah, that guy. He wanted to kill them all even her, just for being a protector and she wasn't even that powerful. She could make things invisible, ooh. To her it was just another party trick. Alucard could create elemental monsters. Now that was a cool trick, she could definitly see why Death would be intimidated by Alucard, but by her? Nah.

Wynfor walked ten yards behind Audrey, scanning the area for dangers, insuring that she was safe. He scanned the area ahead for danger and constantly looked over his shoulder to make sure that they weren't being followed. Keeping her safe was his one priority, the only thing that mattered no matter the cost. That was the job of a protector, and he was not about to let Death touch Audrey, even if it meant a showdown with Death himself. He live his life on constant guard, so she didn't have too. Audrey hadn't felt like taking the car to her classes today, which left them open on the street, which always made Wynor concerned. It was much harder to protect someone when they're out in the open, but he had agreed. He still didn't like it, but it seemed that there was no trouble today, so it might be OK. But his guard was forever up, never letting anyone get the jump on him or, more importantly, Audrey.

Alucard sensed a high amount of gold coming from behind him. No mistaking who that is. He gave a small chuckle, turning around to see his protector, Amy, standing behind him. "The arrows are fine, how's warping the meaning of a movie, while hanging upside down, going?" He said, teasing slightly. He walked over to where his metal bow and steel tipped arrows were located. Picking up about a dozen arrows in one hand, the bow in the other, he walked over to the target range, and set them floating about him, held in the air by his metal manipulation.


He grabbed them out of the air in rapid succession, and sent them down range. Repeated 'thunks' could be heard. When he had fired the last one, he walked down to see how well he had done. Most of the Arrows were clustered around the center area of the target dummy, pretty much all the vital organs, though a few were off target, hitting the dummy in the arms,legs, shoulders and waist, and one had missed completely only clipping the dummy in the side, making only a cut. Albeit deep enough to cause slight worry. "Could do better." he muttered as he pulled the arrows out, and picked up the one that had missed before turning back around to Amy. He was smiling a wide smile. A shadow elemental, wielding a shadow sword, appeared from the shadows on the roof behind her dropping to the ground with a soft thump. "Behind you." Alucard said laconically.

[Duke of Night]

In an instant Death was simply there, standing next tohis faithful assassin of shadows. He appeared as a dark and ratty shroud with nothing in it but darkness, save for the skeletal hands coming from his sleeves. HE could be anything, anywhere, but he chose to be this here. He could simply have his subject know, but he decided to continue the charade by using images. OUt of the inky shadow-smoke came a screen, displaying all of the Blood Lines and Protectors left, of which there were still at least a hundred. He could simply have his dark knight know, but the charade of normality beckoned, so he spoke in the dry raspering whisper of the undead, save for the difference of his perpetual hiss. "HHThheessse aahhrre y-y-oourr tahrg-etss. The ones with lesss power will be marked..." A wave of his hand ad they were color coded. "Go after them in whatever way you wish my sservannt." His voice grew an annoyed, poisoned tone. "But there is till the matter of thhhemmm." He said with disdain. More images were shown. The Kingdom of Night. "The supposedd rruuullerr of thisss... Perverssionn" he sapt the word "Knoowwnn ass the wrrretched Kingdom of Knight iss to be taken outt... but tread lightlyyy. He is nott to be trifled withhh. We susspect he is hiding ssomething... Perhaps the Child, or the boyyy. Infiltatte with the greatesst of stealth, and do NOT be caughtt, for your INSOlancce will NOT be tolerateddd. Find them. And kill them all. Oh... there is the matter of the Resistance leeeaadersss from that idiotic Inbetween they sssooo lovvve. But I'm not to waste yooouurr talents on that, now am I? Mmm... therrre are allreaddyy a few... interrruptions to some Key BloodLines with their dirtttyy talissmansss... the counterparts are in place." With that, he dissapeared in a swirl of the Shadowy smoke that consisted in this section.

In Audrey's part of the world...
As Audrey walked along, quite suddenly and unnforseeably, she would be bumped into hard enough for both her and the bumper to spill their things. It would be a guy, around her age, tall and gangly, wearing glasses and an emberrassed look.
"oh, uh, I'm sorry." He said with a nervous laugh. "Wasn't watching where I was going..." He would start to pick his thing up, and help her with hers. "Teribly sorry, had no idea..." He really did look sorry, and did appear to be a clutz, wearing a pair of glasses taped together at the bridge, his short black hair ruffled, his grass-green turtleneck out of place over a gold colored shirt, a pair of tan kakhi pants a bt too short, revealing mis-matched socks pulled up from a pair of dark brown elather dress shoes. His face wasn't unpleasant, perhaps his nose wasa bit long, his eyes were a bit small, and his chin was abit big, put it all pulled together in a not-unpleasant way. He pushed up his glasses and flittered about nervously as he helped her with the things that had spilled out of her bag and all of his papers he'd scattered about.

In Alucard's armory...
The shadow elemental seemed to tremble, and solidify. It stood up, growing much taller and thinner, a single eye opening in it's head, where a human's whites were, there were now a red inky looking substance, and the pupil was a shining white. Under it slowly opened a mouth, first only a red line, turning into a curve, opening slowly into a wide grin full of sharp, white teeth, a madmans smile that took up most of its face. It's fingers lengthened into absurdly long points, and it's sword melted or dissapated into inky shadow whisps. Slowly it's hand rose and then fell, it's pointer directly at Alucard. it extended as fast as a bullet, hoping to impale him directly. This would no longer be a simple spar.

Shade Nodded, taking the duty with no emotion. It stood, making no noise as its black eyes closed, and it traced the paths of power to measure the power of the various targets. The ones with the strongest presence in the Inbetween were the ones he needed to take out first. It faded, going to that place, using its eyes to read the figures of the targets. Drawing close, Shade stalked the Bloodlines and their Protectors, each of their shadows suddenly darkening as it read them and followed them. It would be subtle, but it might be caught by many.

It read them all, and then went back to the Plane of Shadow to separate the targets. It looked over the information, calmly deliberating with ruthless precision. It finally decided on what target to kill first. It faded again, going into the Inbetween to go to the Material Plane...
