For the record, this is what I think of when I hear "World of Darkness", so it can't be that "famous".

Because I can assure you the majority would be introduced the genre by D&D and WoD

And WoD had it's heyday in the 90's with it's super popular Vampire: The Masquerade that was Anne Rice Vamps, the role playing game and its subsequent lines of supernatural critters tarted up in a goth flavor

It even got so popular a TV show was to be made which got canned, when its lead got killed. Which would have beaten shows like True Blood to the punch by decades.

I don't even like the game line but I still got to give it props for its impact

What an awkward tangent. Anyway... Digimon. So, since you seem to like idea 4, and so do I, I'm thinking of having the Champion be Raidramon and the Rookie be either a custom, Gabumon, Psychemon, or something else that would fit.
