At this point, Eran shut up, not wanting to really think about the possibilities of any of the group dying. He scratched his head and occupied himself with quietly picking the bark off a branch.
Jax thought for a moment after Eran finished speaking. "Well, for now we'll remain optimistic. But we can't assume anything. Hope for the best prepare for the worst," he said quietly. "For now we need o conserve our energy. Tomorrow I'll go and look for food since it seems I'm in the best condition to do so."

Toriff stirred, his eyes flickering open. He looked around and saw Jax. His ears flattened against his head and he growled at him.

Jax slowly put his hands up with no sudden movements. "Chill, I'm one of the survivors," he said. "I just came from the wreckage of the plane. Look at me for Christ sake. I'm covered in my own blood."
Eran heard the growling, and was about to say something when Jax spoke up. He waited for him to finish before voicing his own statement.
"It is true. Found him in the woods. Escorted him back here. He means no harm, seems friendly. Need to stick together for best chance of survival."
Toriff looked at Jax, then at Eran, then back to Jax. He gave a slight nod to show he understood then he changed into his human form, wincing as a sting of pain ran up his arm.

Jax nodded back. When Toriff winced, Jax zeroed in on his arm, thinking. "Try chewing some willow leaves for the pain. They have salicylic acid," he said. "It''s the major ingredient in aspirin."
