    War of The Half-Elves [IC]

As every creature on Sylvarant knows by now half-elves have declared war, as they weren't allowed in cities or villages anymore. Their magi-technology is making them far more stronger than any other nation, and destroying more and more of the landscape. Mana, the lifesource of this world, is also quickly depleting as the half-breeds create the items using the mana. Most of the created goods are weapons too. Many towns have been taken over, and many towns are still fighting helplessly against the enemies. Yet not all the towns are attacked. Some villages still live peacefully but aware of the dangers that might be coming to them.

Ozette for example, the forest town, filled with all kinds of plants and herbs. Presea, the fifteen year old human healer who lives in Ozette, has been studying every single herb that she knows, and knows over 2000 of them and their effects. She's gotten many patients and treated them all with the same kindness and care. She's loved in her town and right now one of her patients is ready to leave. "Thank you so much Presea! I owe you a bunch!" A rather low voice said to her and opened the door. A man walked out of the small little house and waved as he walked away to his own.
A girl, blue hair, not that tall and quite pretty stood at the door opening. "It's okay Edmund! Don't hope to see you again here for medical care anytime soon!" She smiled and waved back. Another successful treatment! She thought and walked back into her house. Presea looked through her inventory, checking if any of her stocks are almost empty. Her water barrel was almost empty, so she decided to go the lake a few miles from here; Lake Umacy. Taking two buckets she walked out and flipped over a little wooden block with "HOME" and "NOT HOME" to "NOT HOME". Maybe she'd meet some more people at the lake from other towns or cities. Or maybe she'd even meet a traveler that allowed her to go with him to look for a way to stop the war. But the only thing she really hoped for is not to be caught by half-elves. Not like her sister probably was.

Delynnaria walked through the forest listening to the wind and leaves that rustle every now and then. Two large wisps followed behind her as she made her way through the woods she once called home so very long ago. She made her way to a road and stepped out onto it. He clothes and body style gave her away as an elf almost immediately. She sat down against a tree that was against the road and began to read to pass the time.

The tallest mountain in Sylvarant, the Dragon's Nest Mountain, towered up into the sky. It was an apt name - most of the dragons in the region were born on the mountain and many still had their nests high up on the rocky slopes. The dragons, along with the fact that the mountain's sides were for the most part sheer and unclimbable, made the mountain incredibly dangerous. However, that never stopped the founders of Xaros, a small village nestled right at the foot of Dragon's Nest. Ever since the village came to be almost 500 years ago, very few outsiders ever dared come near the village for fear of being attacked by dragons. However, those who were brave enough found something rather interesting. The so-called 'killer dragons' were in fact mostly harmless. The reason? The founders of Xaros were no ordinary group of people - they were Dragon Tamers, masters of the art of taking vicious, wild dragons and turning them into docile, friendly creatures. They could turn a wild dragon, hellbent on death and destruction, and calm it and care for it until it no longer felt the need for death or destruction. To the present day Xaros is still considered dangerous. Even now, while war rages through Sylvarant, the small village is considered even more dangerous than any other place, even those hit by the war. It simply isn't true though. Xaros is in fact one of the safest places to be - no half-elf has yet dared come near the village at the foot of the mountain and it's unlikely they ever will.

Ryu Aesir, the village's current Master Dragon Tamer, stepped out of his small house, made of rock and stone mined from the mountain. He blinked rapidly as his eyes adjusted to the bright sunlight. A male villager, around mid 20s in age, passed Ryu. "Good morning, Master Ryu." He said, nodding and smiling at Ryu as he passed. "Morning, Sirok." Ryu replied, smiling back. His voice was quite deep but also smooth. His position in Xaros held masses of respect from the villagers. Dragon taming had slowly began to become a fairly rarer trait among Xaros' villagers over the past 200 years or so and so being skilled in the art was considered impressive. Being a master, such as Ryu, even more so. It wasn't just that though - it was Ryu's special connection with the beasts that commanded the most respect. The first tamer with the connection that Xaros' residents had seen for so many years they had almost lost count. It was no surprise he was made a master so quickly.

Ryu began to walk around the village, as he did every morning, just to see what was happening. Although nothing ever really changed, it was still a habit of his. He greeted several villagers as he walked, all of them referring to him as 'Master Ryu'. He wasn't really fond of being called it but it came with his rank so what could he do? A small group of boys approached Ryu. "What can I do for you, boys?" He asked them. "Can you show us your sword again, master?" One boy replied. Ryu smiled and nodded. "Okay." He said. This was a regular request from the villagers but Ryu was always happy to oblige. He reached his right hand down to the sheath hanging from his waist and pulled out his GunBlade. He held it up for a moment before swinging it in a horizontal arc which released the blade and transformed the weapon from 'gun form' to 'sword form'. He smiled at the boys, amazement written all over their faces, before swinging the blade upwards and towards himself, pulling the blade back and transforming the weapon back to gun form. He then held it by his side. He glance down at it for a moment. He loved the GunBlade. It outperformed any other weapon he'd ever used. The versatility of having a gun and sword in one neat package, as well as the fact that both in gun and sword forms the weapon was incredibly powerful, made it the perfect weapon. Plus it looked amazing as well. He sheathed it and looked down at the boys. "Anything else?" He asked, smiling. The boys shook their head before running off.

Ryu resumed walking around the village. Once had finished his rounds he called out with his mind to Viper, the white dragon whom he shared a special bond with. 'Viper, where are you? I feel like exploring.' A moment passed before the reply came. 'I'm on the mountain, I'll be down in a moment. Meet me outside the village gate.' Viper's voice was deep, booming and slightly rough. Everything you'd expect from a dragon really. Ryu heeded the dragon's instruction and walked out of Xaros, stopping and waiting just past the gate. Surely enough, a moment later, Viper appeared overhead, flying down from Dragon's Nest's south face, the side Xaros was nestled at the bottom of. The white dragon landed just infront of Ryu, who made no hesitation of climbing onto his back. 'You've grown at least a foot, I swear' Ryu said, laughing a little. Viper grunted with amusement. 'You make it sound as if that's a surprise!' He replied as he took off into the sky. 'You should know we dragons grow to massive sizes.' Ryu simply smiled. He did indeed know. Viper was already 10 foot tall and 20 foot long and he wasn't going to stop growing any time soon. 'Where to?' Viper asked. Ryu pondered for a moment. 'Head over to Ozette, I hear it's nice this time of year.' Viper grunted with acknowledgement as he banked to the left and began the flight towards Ozette.

A small figure flies over the tops off the trees quickly, a small 'trail' of slight colored waves flowing beautifully behind her as she speeds across the branches. Suddenly a bird pounces at her and she loses her balance, falling and landing on Delynnaria's head, "Owwwww..."

Delynnaria falls to the ground as the person lands on top of her. The air around her begins to cloud from her anger. She pushes the person off of her as shadow begin to come in close to her. She takes a deep breath and the shadows dissipate as she keeps herself together. She gets up and stares at the person that had fallen on top of her. Her height is around 6 foot 6 inches.

far byond the dragon mountains of Xaros there was a set of mountains, no one dared clamber them, yet no one remembered why, they harboured a dark malice. once the half elves had tried to clamber them with there technologies, the sky had grown dark and the wind moaned like the dead, non of the expedition was ever found, alive or dead. only one man had ever braved those hills and survived, and he was long dead, he had founded Xaros, and he had known the reason why no dragon dared venture close to the hills. they were known by several names, but one was held above all. Carmak'Arath. the cursed mountain. yet, there was a half forgotten story, only the dragons and their kin remembered it.

The story told of a warlord, a half dragon warrior, the grandson of death himself. who had once almost taken control of the entire continent only the dragons themselves stood before him, and he was bested, but not killed, no creature on the earth could do that, his grandfather would not take him, even if he was nothing but a floating sentience. he was trapped in the hills for all eternity, however, what no one had expected was the draining of mana would weaken the spells and allow him to escape.

So, inside his tomb Shiro stood. his eyes glittering in the non-light, shaking dust off his coat and hair. "Lets go." he spoke to no one inside his eternal prison but himself. spreading his wings with the cracking of bone and old skin. energy flowed down his arms and along his body, his hair hovering in the air like a halo of blood. holding his hands out his Katana whipped across the space and in to his hand, slipping it in to place he glanced at the door and checked the spells, all gone. he allowed himself a breif smile and then drew upon the energy that had long since been used to hold him in place, cracks spread across the roof and floor, the stone tablet he'd been placed upon cracked and blue energy spiralled up from it, filling the cracks running round the entire mountain by now.
Then it detonated, the entire mountain just exploded, lumps of stone the same size as a house raining down several miles away. standing atop the newly created plateau the air around him shimmered with power, the ground molten rock, his eyes blazed blue and his hair stood out around his head, he sniffed the air and a savage smile twisted his lips. letting out a savage roar he took off straight up, the last energy being stripped from the spells as he did so, and this time it was clear what sort of power had just been unleashed in to the world, a huge corna of blue light shone in to the sky, spiralling and glowing with power, thinning and slowly fading as it was drawn in to his body. "free again." he said savagely and rolled on a point in the air and set off towards Xaros.

    thank you mayhem

A rather short girl lays in front of Delynnaria, seeming dazed, "Sorry about that..." She stretches her large bug-like wings, making sure they aren't messed up as she hops to her feet.

T.K. emerged from the tree, that bordered Gittlen and the forest, awoken by the giant earthquake that just took place. He watched as the pillar of light towered into the sky, he figured another half-elves war was attacking Xaros. It has been 15 hours since his escape and he had been in that tree for 12, at the thought of being free, T.K. sighed and sat down to properly rest. He pulled out a little box that he had stolen from the half-elves prison and examined it carefully. "What is it about this things that scares people?" He sat and tried to remember the stuff Bon and Rin, the half-elves he lived with things they were mages, taught him and opened the box. HE wandered how such a small box could be an endless void. Off in the distance he could here someone get hurt, "Damn it, not again....." T.K.took off going to a near by river.

Klara-Ann found herself walking alone with Azure down a thick patch of forest in the deep secluded mountains of Sylvarant. She was hunting, the only way she knew how to help her people. With her bow grasped tightly in her left hand she padded along in her flat-heeled black suede boots. Azure's stomach growled, it broke Klara-Ann's heart to hear the stomach-growls of her people and pets. As princess she should have already taken a husband, and helped her people rise up and fight against the cruel nations of half-breeds... But long ago a dark lord among her people cursed her, she cannot marry for any other reason except love. This has caused her to no longer be able to gain any control over her people, they are leader-less and she cannot do
    anything about it.
Anyway, as she traveled up the mountain she heard an earthquake eruption and fell to the ground, Azure croked out a muffled cry as she fell down too.
"What in all the heavens was that Azure?"
"I do not know, perhaps it was someone, and not a that?"

Presea was ready to go back already with the buckets filled with water. It was strange, she didn't see anyone around the lake, and no birds were there either. "What could be wrong?" She wondered and lifted them up with all the power she had. Her buckets werent that big but she was physically weak compared to other people. Presea sighed deeply before going back. "I can do this, It isn't that far." But the journey back home seemed endless and she decided to stop halfway. She looked around if anyone was there, but not even the slightest form of life was seen.

After a 15 minute break Presea decided to continue forward, to fill her barrel with water once again so she could continue for another week before having to refill. Almost infront of the forest she hits her foot against a pebble that was stuck in the ground and falls forward dropping her buckets. Presea looked at the water dripping out and yelled. "NO! That just--!" she dropped herself in the wet grass. "Ugh! I just went back and forth! Wasted 2 hours of my time!" Presea just stayed in the grass as if she was dead. "I don't want to go back.. Not after all my effort.."
