Penumbra: Preamble OOC

It started as a normal scientific expedition in northern Greenland. An Archaic Shelter had been constructed, and all records of its existence wiped as per standard Archaic protocol. Unusual substances and artifacts were unearthed and quarantined for study, their properties recorded as they revealed themselves. You might be one of the scientists studying these artifacts. Or you may be Shelter security. Whatever you are, all of you share at least one thing in common: you are all Elevated Class, and have all the clearances associated with the honor. However, things would not, or could not, remain standard. It all started when an excavation team found a tomb, which the natives identified as the Tuurngait tomb, saying it contained demons within. Dr. LaFresque argued against opening the tomb, begging that they just leave it the way they found it. He claimed to have translated the ancient symbols within, and found out something very, very dangerous resides within. Nobody listened to the ravings of LaFresque, and the tomb's seal was broken. And that is when things began to go to hell. The tomb appeared to be empty, but something within was stirred. About a week later, people began to report bouts of deja vu, and the incidents became more and more common. Eventually the deja vu was traced to a very unusual virus, dubbed the Tuurngait Virus after the tomb that the Archaic believed it originated from. However, the true horror had yet to begin.

Okay, this is the OOC for Penumbra: Preamble, my prequel RP set prior to Overture. You don't need to know what happened in the trilogy, and there's very little lore you need to know to get started. What's detailed in the paragraph above is all you need. The rest of the lore essential to the plot will be revealed IC. So you can come in knowing nothing about the trilogy and still do just fine. As detailed above, we are all Elevated Caste, meaning we're ranked high in the Archaic, which is a shadowy organization dedicated to researching unusual occurrences. Shelter Greenland, where this RP is set, is devoted to Xeno research, studying objects believed to be extraterrestrial in origin. So make a sheet and expect to be scared shitless!

Psychological Stability: (This will be very stable to start with for everyone. The Archaic doesn't recruit psychologically unstable individuals into their ranks. This will be edited as they slip further and further into insanity.)

Infection Progress: (This refers to the progress of infection from the Tuurngait virus. I will control this part, and let you know what to put as the virus progresses. No unique infection effects, because we already have one player with that characteristic approved for use. All will start out with Stage 0, which means they are not infected.)

Job: (Are you a scientist? Security? Military? (Archaic has its own military))

Brief Bio: (What did you do before being inducted into the Archaic? I'm not asking for an essay, but try to make it at least four sentences. History determines how vital your character is. You can have been born into an Archaic Shelter, in which case you'll likely end up pretty vital.)

Other: (Personality, quirks, pets, etc. Yes, pets are allowed, since there's (god forbid) a kennel.)
