    Kid Advice?

Tomorrow I will be babysitting my five year old future stepdaughter. Unless they are in the hospital or receiving medical treatment (I'm a nurse) I have no idea what to do with kids. Any suggestions for cold weather activities or movies or anything for a kid that age?

    Much appreciated, in advance.
Good morning. I see the assassins have failed.

Depends on the kid. I absolutely despise them but I had to watch my niece once. She was decent, I just left her alone in a room with a doll and she played by herself. Then I offered her a cookie.

If it's a decent child as well, put on their favorite movie. Read them a book. Sedate her. Give her a coloring book. Go play in the snow (if you have any).

If you don't mind cleaning up messes, do some finger painting or look up some other little kid crafty thing.

Just as Chirstle said. It depends on the kid. I babysitted for my neice couple of times I think she was around that around. Maybe a year older or two. I just sat around watching t.v. and played video games. She just watched me play video games. And asked me to play with herwith her toys. I did. She wanted to go outsie when it was cold. She was smart enough to put on her warm jacket. Didn't have to do much, except fi a hotdog and glass of water. Easy ten bucks I ever made...

Make her watch whatever movie she wants, and then finally play a game or something with her. I watch a 9 and 5 year old all the time. Make them watch a movie, then spend the rest of the night playing Just Dance. Fun times.

I have a Graphics Shop now. Graphics Shops are cool.
I run a roleplaying site too!

Hospitalize the kid... or, failing that, anything by Pixar is good. At 5 they get a kick out of the old 2D Disney movies as well. My daughter loved Robin Hood and Winnie the Pooh movies back then. How to Train a Dragon I've heard has been good too.

Kids love animation. Don't try to get too nostalgic with live action stuff though, that's something you've got to expose them to slowly and if you pick the wrong one and they don't like it they'll get bored and want something else pretty quick. They form steadfast opinions pretty quick and if you try and get them to watch something you liked as a kid for nostalgia's sake you can do your dash in a hurry and make them not want to see it ever again.

That sound's like I'm sitting my little girl down and forcing her to watch things Clockwork Orange-style, but I wasn't referring to anything I've shown her. I can remember my fiance putting on Wizard of Oz and my daughter finishing it and saying "I never want to watch that movie ever again".

I noticed you said cold weather, is there any snow? There's always the option of just playing in the snow.

Like others have mentioned, anything from Pixar is typically a good option. Wii can be fun too, if you have one of those. You could make lunch together too, something really simple and have them assemble it- like celery, peanut butter and raisins.

I imagine you are probably already watching them, depending on the time, so good luck.
    I have left the RPG.
