Once more into the fray..
"In my defense, you wouldn't answer my calls... I was scared you would leave me, so I did what any reasonable man would do." He said with a laugh. "As for drawing attention, I won't for our sake... But a subtle hand holding, and saying yes when people ask us." He said, running a hand through her hair again.

Jessica barked out a laugh. "You were being all cavemany again. What did you expect?" Propping herself up on her elbow, she smiled sweetly. "I know you, you're going to be bursting at the seems till you get the point across that I'm with you, so if a bit scene gets you to stop hovering over me like everyone's about to swoop in and take me away, then please do that for my sake."

"I'll be fine... I... Will trust you to politely tell people that you are with me, and if they don't take that as a big enough hint, deck them in the face." He said simply, giving a smile to her, leaning over and kissing her on the lips.

"I'll leave the punching to you, Mr. Action Hero. I'm purely there for decoration, and the occasional sarcastic comment to keep your ego in check." Jessica flashed him a quick smile, before ducking her head to laugh. "Seriously, I doubt anyone will try anything. I've been home for three years now and no one's hit on me yet. I think everyone's faces are safe." She relaxed briefly, then bolted up right. "Crap...wait...No one's told you the story yet, have they?"
Her face went pale at the memory of Di's threat to tell Jason about their little night club adventure, which the whole town found out about thanks to her lovely best friend. Shaking her head, Jessica sighed loudly. "If anyone asks me to keep their hands warm, you have my full permission to punch them."

Now Jason sat up on his elbows. "What story, and I pray that's not the term I think I'm thinking." He said, staring at her with interest and concern in his eyes. He wasn't too thrilled with the look on her face.

Biting her lip, she placed a hand on Jason's arm. "Well...um...it wasn't anyone in town!" She said helpfully. "It was just some random guy. It's just the whole town found out what happened and well...you know how that goes."
Squirming under his stare, Jessica smiled innocently at him. "See, Di and the girls thought I needed a night out, so they took me to this night club up in the city. Everything was all well and good, we had a few drinks and decided to go dance. I didn't talk to anyone but the girls, and I really didn't even notice the guy that was behind me, until he decided to get cute and stick his hand up my shirt." Jessica cringed while adding that part, peeking up at Jason with a nervous smile. "We took care of him of course...but for almost a month nearly every guy in town asked if I could help them warm up their hands..."

Jason looked at her and gave a smile, then laid down. "I'm not mad... Why would I be? This was when you had no idea where I was... And the fact that it was no one I know makes it good too..."

Jessica had to blink her eyes a few times to clear away the shock."Wait, who are you, and what have you done with my Jay?" Placing a hand on his forehead, she hovered over him. "Nope, no fever. Maybe I should take you in to make sure there's nothing wrong with your head. Have you fallen lately? Any dizziness or fainting spells?"

"I'm fine... Taken that I would have beaten the shit out of him, but I'm not mad at you..." He said with a smile, pushing her hand away from his hand and taking it. "I'll be more than happy to punch anyone who gives you the eye." He said, kissing her hand.

Jessica looked back at him doubtfully. "Well, I wasn't expecting you to be mad at me exactly. I was just waiting for you to...be you." Shrugging her shoulders, Jessica continued to stare at him with an arched brow. "Well, at least you heard it from me and not Di. She made it sound like the guy got a handful...he barely made it to my stomach, and he wouldn't have made it that far if I hadn't been in shock for a few seconds."
