Greetings, folks! This is my first RP in the Guild and I am honored to be here.
I've spent the last year working on my multiverse´s lore, hammering out numerous alien species, complex religions, unique technologies, and dynamic factions that dot the Great Expanse. When my buddy Ash had the idea to start a new RP in the multiverse I jumped at the opportunity. Let's see what sort of hell we can raise
Here's a summary so you have an idea what you'll be facing.
Genre: Hard Scifi with Horror-Fantasy leanings (Think Warhammer 40K and Lovecraft)
Time-Period: Y50 H.R. (Approximately 508,350 AD, 50 years since the initial Human colonies were established in this galaxy at the technology level expected of 22nd century Earth - low-tech interstellar vessels, base cybernetics, nascent genetic engineering, ballistic weaponry, and so forth)
Start Location: Docked starship on a human colony world
Playstyle: Casual, leaning toward advanced
Gameplay Focus: Galactic exploration, faction politics, crafting, and survival above all.
Within the last 50 years Altarax and other colonies have sprung up across the Large Magellanic Cloud, the final product of an ancient Earthborn seeder fleet set adrift from the Milky Way approximately 500,000 years ago. Project Hyperion is Altarax's first attempt at forging an interstellar empire by contacting its fellow wayward human colonies, building a sensor network and establishing jump beacons to assist in future travellers.
A strange electromagnetic anomaly surrounding our home system has fried the internal circuitry of every sensor probe launched thus far, ensuring Altarax remains unaware of its location or surroundings. We are the galactic equivalent of a newborn child fresh from the womb: incapable of self-defense, our eyes still adjusting to the light of day. Humanity still has much to learn...
You are the crew of the starship Hyperion. Hopelessly cut off from Earth and entirely unaware of its continued existence, Humanity is forced to eke out a meager existence in a vast unexplored galaxy. You will encounter strange worlds, dangerous technologies, and vicious xeno species lusting for human flesh. Your mission is to fight, talk, and think your way out of conflicts that may spell the difference between human superiority and galactic enslavement.
The Hyperion is a ticking time bomb and its up to you to defuse her mysteries. Will you discover the truth and survive the conflagration that follows? Only time will tell...

Alright, finished my business and got around to editing this thread now that I'm not half-asleep. I hope I managed to express the general feeling of the RP in a concise manner.
The RP will take place in a menagerie of settings: aboard our vessel - the flagship Hyperion; during interstellar transit; in orbit of stellar bodies; aboard any vessel we might dock with; and the surface of multiple planets. There is a vague main plotline and a number of side-plots I'll be running during the RP but this scenario is specifically designed to allow for as much breathing room as possible. I've given you a point of origin and nothing more.
The PCs will be crewmembers aboard the Hyperion. You may claim any number of potential professions of the scientific or military variety that one would expect to find on an interstellar research and diplomatic mission. You may take it a step further and take a specialization such as a scout-sniper/ranger, cyberneticist, xenoarchaeologist, or any number of interesting possibilities. The PCs are only a handful among a very diverse and numerous crew working in the background to ensure Project Hyperion's success. You may reroll a new character upon death and choose a new profession if you wish.
