    Ah, what a glorious galaxy!

Arxia, you can be the captain of the hijacked vessel that rescues us if you wish, but you won't be in the RP til a bit later. When we start off Hyperion is the only human space-faring vessel in existence, though that quickly changes.

Okay, could you give me a bit of information about my ship/crew/etc? PM is fine if you don't want to say it here.

Figured I'de give this a bash. Looks interesting, though I'm mildly inexperienced with Warhammer, so if I miss something about your universe you'll have to fill the blanks in for me :P

    Name: Icarus 'Vapor' Axeford
    Age: 27
    Gendre: Male
    Role: Military - Pilot
Key Traits: Loyal, Arrogant, Intelligent, Realist
Biography: Icarus was one of the first children to be born of the second generation on Altarax. Born from a mother and father, unlike many of his counter parts, his childhood was somewhat more fulfilling than that of the others who had been born of Artificial wombs, having an actual set of real parents to care for him and raise him. Some people would say this made him arrogant, though he didn't see it. He just viewed himself as slightly... better than the others. More pure, you might say, but still of the same race. This tended to make him believe that with the proper application of effort, he could out do any of his Vat-born counterparts (As he liked to think of them), and without genetic or cybernetic enhancement. For the most part, he had proven himself right, finishing ahead of all the children throughout school in both Athletics and Academics. But when he reached the Pilots academy, he found that he had to work extra-hard to even keep pace with his faster, cybernetically enhanced counter parts in maneuvers. Icarus wound up finishing 5th in his class, the 4 ahead of him all having cybernetic enhancements for reflexes. It bothered him, and he works even harder to prove that 'pure' humans are not weak, nor do they need enhancement to keep up with their peers.

During school, Icarus had met several people of note that had helped him when things seemed dark. While he didn't ever talk about those people to anyone unless directly asked, he was fiercely loyal to them. And if they should ever call for his aid, he would jump ship and risk his life and career to do so. It is for this reason that he didn't mention those people to anyone. Every now and then, he would come across someone of equal note, though most of his friends he didn't trust enough to really risk much for. Due to his high scores throughout Piloting school, however, he was offered a position on the Hyperion. He gladly accepted, knowing it was a prestigeous position and a smart career move for him.

If anything seems amis, let me know.

    Name: Declan Fleming
    Age: 35
    Gender: Male
    Designation: PC
    Role: Security Officer, Lieutenant
Key Traits: Strict, Loyal, Systematical, Quiet
Enhancements: Cybernetic left eye, prosthetic right leg, prosthetic left arm, a breather covering his mouth and neck.

Biography: Declan was one of many to join Altarax's military as soon as he came of age. Disaster struck only 4 years later as a grenade misfired and not only blew his right leg off, but the shrapnel also ruined his left arm and severed the more vital parts of his neck, most of his throat, left eye and chin. All limbs were replaced with robotic prosthetics resulting in him relying on his breather to survive. The breather makes speech a burden as it pains him to do so and his breathing has a heavy, mechanical ring to it.

The accident did not stop him from continuing his career but rather the opposite. He has devoted his life to the military and it didn't take long before he joined the Hyperion and rose to Lieutenant because of his strict, efficient way of command and his undying loyalty - no matter the cost.

He is a man of few words and will very, very rarely small-talk with someone as he sees conversations as a waste of time and the fact that it pains him to speak. He secretly fears space and rarely looks out the windows of a ship. One of the downsides of having his breather is that the connection to the lungs is scrappy, making him have to clear his throat often and also vent out the "gunk" that gathers both in and around the various tubes connecting the two. However, it comes with a mechanism that periodically liquefies the gunk and spit and superheats it, causing it to vent out as steam.

Welcome! Ah, I do believe I have enough players to begin.

I'll go about posting the OOC thread then. I had a lot of fun designing some new mechanics, technologies and subplot for the RP with the Skype crew today. My favorite being the epic cybergoth-inspired custom battle-chassis with... Well, I won't spoil it just yet.

    Name: Cog Anrizkalur
    Age: 50
    Gender: Male
    Designation: PC
    Role: Chief Engineer
Key traits: Curious, secretive, quick to anger.
    Enhancements: Prosthetic right arm.
Bio:Cog is an interesting fellow. Short and stocky, he always wears a leather apron and welding goggles, and is constantly covered in grease and dirt. After an accident that cost him his arm, he built a new one that doubles as storage for his tools. Highly curious he is the kind of person who would take something apart, just to see what it did, and how it did it. As such he has a high degree of familiarity with machines, both in repairing them and creating them. He has some small quirks, the most notable being that he sleeps in whatever engineering section he is working in, regardless of any dangers. When asked why he responds by saying that if anything were to go wrong, he would be the first to know. He also appears to be able to subsist entirely off of coffee and donuts, though this has not been confirmed. Those with weak stomachs are advised to steer clear of his coffee, as it has been known to eat through mugs. He also seems to forms a “bond” with the machines under his care, talking to them and calling them by name. While this would usually be evidence of a less than stable mind, he is one of the best in the field, and as such he has been approved for the mission.

    Good enough for you?

I'll give you guys a little taste.

"The Valkyrie Mark I - codename OMNI - is a full-body conversion battle-chassis custom-built from the shattered remnants of Lady Valkyria Rosen: young heiress to the Rosen dynasty - murdered and defiled at the height of innocence. Her fragile consciousness was rendered immortal as flesh was stripped from bone; mortality severed through the reconstruction of her broken form.

In its stead rose a cybernetic masterpiece equipped with the most advanced combat personnel augmentations available. An experimental rotational chassis replaced her abdomen and neck allowing for 360º cyclical rotation at extreme velocities. Her optical nerves were rerouted to a helm-mounted visor equipped with full-range spectrum analysis sensors: all for the sake of hiding the horrific scars that mar her once-beautiful face. Segmented nanotube bundles riddled with sensor-mounted nanofibers simulate human hair, a hybridization of gentle crimson and harsh carbon-steel that descends the back of her skull. Each murderous 'lock features a retractable spearhead designed to rip-cut through flesh and metal alike while a triad of ornate silver hinge-clasps bind it all together.

Upon activation electro-shock spines capable of delivering heart-stopping force burst forth from every surface as limbs metamorphose fragile form into killing machine. Wicked spikes prominently adorn tiered plate-armor as it rapidly coats her torso in a sheath of ultra-resistant alloy. A segmented tail protrudes from a port beneath her tailbone, controlled by its own artificial intelligence designed to counterbalance the weight of her many augmentations while protecting her flank from possible attack. Polished crescent blades descend the length of each mechanical forearm and terminate in a set of dual-pronged claws capable of slashing through bone with frightening ease. Reborn from her broken shell, the Valkyrie battle-chassis was designed to ensure she would never be hurt again."

Heh, the brainchild of her younger brother Magnus, a genius cyberneticist and murderous sociopath who's been given free-reign due to his incredible wealth and significant contributions to the scientific community. The Valkyrie is one-of-a-kind: though cybernetics are commonplace in Hyperion:Unlimited, they are often bulky, defective and severely limited by virtue of design and the incredible wealth necessary to undergo any practical full-conversion surgical process for the installation of an equally expensive piece of cutting-edge cybernetics. The rate at which limbs are cleaved and crushed on or around the human colony of Altarax is unfounded, though constant earthquakes and harsh atmospheric conditions only raise the rate of bodily decay. Between industrial accidents and attacks by drug-addled criminals or this world's particularly nasty set of predators, nearly 70% of Altaraxian colonists have at least one cybernetic limb while an astonishing 98% have an augmentation of some sort. Its a cruel, cruel world we've got here... The perfect playground for the hell I'm raising in this particular installment of my scifi work. Cheers and good night! I plan to spend all of tomorrow setting up the OOC thread, linking the characters to their respective NPCs, and posting the initial intro that will begin our RP. If you still haven't posted a character sheet please do so! If you have any questions just post here in the thread and I'll get to them as soon as I am able. Night folks!
