Interstellar Terrorist
There are a few specifics but if you think your character should have some special item just let me know. Could be something silly like a bottle of alcohol if you want him to be a drunkard or something more particular that you could make use of during missions.

Should we add our secondary assignments and Inventory?

Interstellar Terrorist
If you have a secondary objective in mind then go for it! Aye, formulate a basic inventory of items you'd expect your character to have IN THEIR POSSESSION, whether in storage or on you. These can be anything from a wooden smoking pipe to a tactical vest to a semi-automatic pistol. Weapons, armor-apparel, tools, special items, cybernetics, drugs-medicine and so forth. The inventory belongs to YOU and no one else, so be sure you can feasibly carry your inventory with you on all missions. Be clever but realistic. A researcher would typically have a white smock or labcoat covering their bodysuit, engineers typically wear brown with yellow and orange details where applicable, pilot-navigators wear navy blue, military personnel wear black with colored shoulder-patches and collars signifying rank, medical personnel would wear white, and so forth. A medical character could reasonably carry anything from antitoxin and syringes to portable biometric scanners and scalpels. Military personnel have only basic semi-automatic pistols as a starting weapon - better weapons will be purchased, unlocked in the ship's armory, scavenged, or custom-made. You can choose to have more flexible, form-fitting recon armor, a nice officer-like uniform, and purchase or design tactical gear. Your gear WILL determine what you can feasibly carry or equip as well as how combat affects you and I will take every detail into consideration when doing rolls and working out actions because its just more fun that way. So on and so forth. So, necessity and realism over aesthetics and style. Dress smart!
So, take this fine opportunity to pick 7 items to bring with you - yes, this includes cybernetics unless specifically waived by me. Can't have y'all starting as superhuman cyborgs with big-ass gatling lasers now can I
I'll figure which are acceptable and add them to your inventory lists in the OOC thread. This is a one-time opportunity since after launch you'll need to work with what you can find, make or buy. Cheers!

Surviving
Sorry guys for being so absent. I got exams in a few weeks and an English folio to complete from ground zero. Looking forward to this though!

Don't worry about it
We've still got quite a few open positions if you want to submit a char sheet! Please do so in the OOC thread which I've provided the link for in the main topic back on page 1. Cheers!

Surviving
Quick question, what is the purpose of the ship? By that I mean what is it going out for and who would be on it? I just want to get my CS in quickly as I have a small volcano of English assignments sitting in the corner of my room right now. Thanks.

The Hyperion program is primarily designed to establish communications with other human colonies while exploring the galaxy and doing research. As a research vessel funded by Dr. Magnus' corporation, the Hyperion is equipped for all manner of scientific experimentation and analysis of stellar and biological anomalies alike. Think Enterprise from Star Trek with a Warhammer:40K spin in which most things want to kill us or are technologically and numerically superior.
There are multiple tiers to the Hyperion crew. The political division serve the government directly, the research division is fairly autonomous in the hands of Dr. Magnus Gault, while the military on Altarax function through various factions reminiscent of worker's unions. The Navigators are the pilots of Altarax, a highly-acclaimed guild who command land, water and air vessels. Our military is comprised of numerous PMCs such as the Exterminatus Corps and the Sentinel Corps, each following their own rules and recruitment requirements while having their own dynamic loyalties and traditions. The government has its own private military company that is fiercely loyal and extremely well-funded.

You can expect a fully-staffed research crew supplemented by engineers for repair and development. Military personnel are a must - a fine mixture of veterans and new soldiers of various classes and skillsets to ensure maximum adaptability against both human and xeno targets - primarily tasked with the crew's defense during missions. Our navigators pilot the Hyperion, her shuttles and unmanned vehicles. Dr. Brand is a Historian-scribe, tasked by the government and the people of Altarax to record the voyage and its discoveries for posterity and analysis. The rest is up for grabs, really. We have a very large crew numbering in the hundreds. This is a starfaring research and exploration vessel and the first of its kind. We are the flagship Hyperion, Altarax's first space-faring vessel and a well-funded one might I add.
A multitude of jobs are possible: anything you can imagine really. A chef, archaeologist, xenobiologist, nuclear physicist, chemist, scout-sniper, intelligence agent, demolitions expert, gunsmith, hell, you can even be a musician if you wish. Just bare in mind that if you choose a job that's useless off the ship you won't be taking part in most, if any offship missions. In other words, be useful!
