I just read your plot, and I'm afraid to say it makes no sense, and was a huge letdown. The books say that Kahlan Amnell was the last Confessor. There are no other lands where confessors could be "far away" at. Rahl is a family name. Why would a general try to become the next Lord Rahl if he isn't a descendant to the throne. He would simply institute his own reign with his own family. The significance of the lord Rahl is the bond, a magic that comes with a gifted heir to that bloodline. As for the sisters of the light, the palace of the prophets has been destroyed. Why did they decide to go back to the old world to train wizards. It stated that it took some 300 years to train a wizard as the sorceresses didn't have the male side of the gift. There are a lot of holes in your plot. It is as if you took the story back to the 2nd or third book and killed off the main characters to start anew.
